I recently went back to Paso Robles and discovered Vina Robles had switched owners. At first I was sad and scared since I really did enjoy my experience at their previous location. Once I heard what happened I was more sad but happy to hear the new owner wants to continue Vina Robles. I wish as a member I would have gotten notified. Went to their new location which was really convenient since we were going to other wineries near there. It's still a big location. Plenty of seating and they still offer food which we were happy about. Our server was super sweet and knowledgeable which I always appreciate when it comes to wine. We started a tasting and then just tried whatever she gave us which we weren't complaining. Haha. All the wine she was giving us was really good. I was really impressed by their food. I wanted more of everything. We got their bruschetta al Fresco, hummus, monte Bianca pizza, and one other pizza. I fell in love with their bruschetta. We got there right as there kitchen closed which was a bummer because I wanted more. Overall, I still enjoy their wine. Their location is really nice. Food is delicious. I will conintue being a member and will stop by anytime I am in the area. read more

We reserved the upstairs VIP experience as a 12 days of Christmas special. $150.00 for $328.00 value. Wine tasting and pizza, salads for up to 8 people. I booked it online and then reserved online in their website. No phone call was needed. We reserved noon on Saturday and after all of our party arrived we went upstairs to our lovely comfy leather sofas to settle in for the duration. We were given 4 pizzas of our choice and 4 salads and served buffet style so everyone could load their plate. We also added 3 orders of yummy meatballs. I cut them in half for serving. Artichoke hearts appetizer, charcuterie board and more. They provided juice boxes for the little boys in our party. The food was more than enough for Lunch. We could have fed more people and we took home a lot of pizza. The Italian sausage pizza was very good but we had the hot honey on the side as none of the group was interested in it. The wine was good, as usual. I had only whites. The rest of the group had the standard white then red tasting. The sparkling rose is also very good and upstairs you have dedicated bottle server. Service was excellent. They had live music downstairs and a market event going with vendors selling goods for the holiday season. I love this venue and will return soon. Improvement needed. Buy some large paper plates for the buffet lunch. It's a shared food event. All we had was tiny appetizer plates. We asked for larger but they had none. ** edit. Update. This place is really nice. I wasn't sure if we'd be seated in the amphitheater or the warehouse, but it ended up being the warehouse space. That said, it's beautifully decorated and has a fun, lively vibe. The music was a bit louder, but it added to the energetic atmosphere. The wine was fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious--everything we tried tasted amazing! They also added a really thoughtful touch by setting up a cute birthday sign for me, which made the experience feel special. Service was a little slow at times, but with a party of 12, that's understandable. Our server did her best to keep up and was doing a lot. The overall experience felt more like a tasting room than an intimate winery setting, and I didn't quite get that "close to the owner" vibe--but that makes sense given the warehouse setup. Vina Robles has a new tasting room off of Ramada in Paso, just a hop off of the 101 and close to Tin City. The space, previously occupied by Broken Earth Winery, is huge and really nicely appointed. Tons of squashy, comfy, but beautiful lounge areas with ample seating, a very cool bar, and regular tables for easier food service. There is plenty of parking, and they are dog friendly. There are a couple of nice tables outdoors, although no one was using them on our visit. They kept the insanely cool pizza oven that their predecessor had invested in, and have hired the chef and owner of Mama's Meatballs in SLO to operate their "Eatery". Given that we were previous members and that my husband is a pizza fiend, we decided to pop in and check them out for lunch and a tasting. I opted to taste, while my husband got a bottle of rose to just have a glass of there, bringing the rest back home. The gentleman that helped us (I wish that we were better with names, because neither of us remembers, and it was not on our receipt) was friendly, educational, and attentive- providing a great experience. I really appreciated that he asked about my preferences and tailored my flight to what I would most enjoy, allowing me to get a sense of what they offer that is in my wheelhouse. As someone who used to do a lot of heavily oaked reds and is currently on a kick of loving white wines and roses, especially stainless steel aged, I enjoyed all of what I tasted (sauvignon blanc, lovely with balanced acid, verdejo- nice minerality, vermentino- very nice, albarino- excellent, viogner- my absolute favorite and I took a bottle home/will be back purchase this again, and the grenache- delicious for a less-heavy red option). Again, the service and attention to detail on preference was just really appreciated. The food was excellent. Served on compostable bamboo disposables, which is certainly better than plastic or paper, if not environmentally as ideal as "real" tableware. We dug in and loved it all! We had: -Roasted beet salad: Very refreshing for a summer day, generous in toppings, and with a very balanced vinaigrette- always appreciated. -The meatballs of Mama's Meatballs fame, and of course featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (their original restaurant in SLO, but same meatball): 13/10, you need these in your life. Incredibly tender and flavorful. -Diavola pizza- also perfectly balanced, topped, crusted, and delicious with nduja, italian sausage, roasted red peppers, and a perfectly applied bit of hot honey - we loved this. As Templeton locals, this spot is too cool not to make the most of, so we signed up for their wine club shortly after departing. Get the meatballs and thank me later. Day 1, what a GREAT start of the trip. We actually were going to Broken Earth Winery, who moved and was replaced with Vina Robles. Quality/Quantity - Amazing wines, I might even join their wine club. Got here early for "lunch" at Broken Earth Winery.... But sadly Vina Robles does not have food, and I did not want to day drink on an empty stomach. So off to Pier 46, see other review. But before I left, I noticed a sale on their wines! Bella gave me a quick splash and I was sold, but not before lunch. So off we went. After lunch we came back to be serviced by both Bella and Mike; both team members were perfect and amazing! See pictures of all the wines sampled! Too many to name. Atmosphere - New tasting room, not fully settled yet. Another team member told us to also check out the upstairs, see pictures. Everyone is so welcoming! Service - 6 stars, see above. Came to their new location on Ramada Drive for lunch; 4 of us. Nice greeting at the door. They weren't very busy, which we were surprised. Our Server, Mike was very knowledgeable about the wine he served us and we really enjoyed his caring personality. 2 of us had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, another had one of their pizzas and I had the Beet Salad with Shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious including the bottle of Verdejo wine that we had. There used to be another winery in this building so it was very comfortable. Our group of six adults liked the wines here, and the two teenagers appreciated the minimal but varied menu with assorted nuts, creme Brule, and other choices. Our steward was informative about the winery, less so about the wine, explaining that he doesn't like to influence tasters. One star off because we expected the $30 estate tasting fee listed on the website reservation page but discovered upon arrival a choice of $25 for a mixture of white and red or $40 for estate wines. read more

We truly enjoyed our delicious lunch here! One of the better lunch spots. We sat inside as it was cold and windy outside. There was a fireplace and it felt cozy. I got Estate flight and my husband got the select flight with our lunches. We shared a burrata bruschetta. It was really good. I got their spicy chicken sandwich and it was lovely, there was a good spice kick to it, and it was the slaw. The slaw was good. The chicken had a good crunch to it and it was juicy. There was a minor hiccup in my chicken sandwich but I didn't mind. My husband got the Vina Robles burger. I tasted it and it was good. We really enjoyed lunch and liked their wines. There were few that we really loved and bought some bottles like their Syrah. Originally we wanted the maple Creme burlee but they ran out, so we opted for cast iron cookie. It took awhile but it was worth it! It was delicious. Like a pazookie. The cookie was nice and gooey. They had ice cream and everything. It was the best thing we ate all weekend in Paso. I really digg this winery! Beautiful lowkey design but with an impressive visual uptick. Their property is spacious, and modernly laid out When you walk into their tasting room you are greeted with a casual, yet respectful and welcoming elegance. We checked in (with our kids) and were seated at a long table to do our tasting. Our host, Allen was a kind man who was really nice to our kids and treated my wife and i not like one time visitors but like we were neighbors having wine at his place. Lemme talk to ya..... the wine here is goooood. They are known for their reds, but mannnn, the whites that Allen let us try were tasty, crisp and refreshing (for me). Their cab, my wife became a fan(she loves the reds). This visit was special for me particularly because it was my birthday weekend. My wife chose this winery for us to enjoy, and then she surprised me by having my older son show up and join us at our table(who drove out from san jose to paso robles). So between the great wine and my wife's surprise and the fact that we all sat at the table, talked, sipped wine and our little ones did not act up ...this winery was definitley magic ....YEAH! love, love, love this place! We stumbled on this place because we had to pee. That and we had an RV in the caravan so we needed ample parking. And it was on the right side of the freeway in the direction we were headed. Also, we're alcoholics. So this place checked all of our requirements. It was also a bonus that they had food. AC is strong here and the bathrooms are super clean. Flight of wine is 30 bucks, but they will waive it if you buy 2 bottles (ranges around 30-60 bucks per bottle). It was a no brainer to walk away with 2 bottles, since the wine was delicious. The sommelier that helped us was super sweet and attentive. I also like how we were greeted by a hospitality host that made sure we had everything we needed. Will be back! read more

We had not been to Vina Robles in a number of years. I was at a local restaurant and had a glass of Arborist from Vina Robles, to wanted to go to the winery. Our server was Randy, so nice, friendly and informative. He tasting charge is currently $30, but if you purchase 2 bottles, it is waived. I also bought Vermentino, even though I could not taste as I like this wine. Also bought their Petite Syrah. Very nice accommodations, we stood at the bar but there was plenty of seating, you could also purchase food. Wines were reasonably priced from around $25 to $60 a bottle. read more

Serendipitously discovered Vina Robles - and discovered a gem of wine-making! The staff tried to serve me food (which looked wonderful! too) but each time the dish belonged to someone else (and I already had dinner plans with friends I was visiting.. :) As it was a Friday, they were close to hosting their "vinyl night" which was cool nonetheless as the music streamed was wonderful to listen to. Vina Robles has a very warm and comfortable ambiance. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in! We were a little late for our reservation, but they still had a few choices of tables left for us! We did two wine tastings, and honestly loved many of the wines we tried! We really wish we could have tried the food, but we missed the kitchen closing by 30 minutes! The people who worked here really made sure that we would go home with wines that we really enjoyed drinking! Our personal favorite was the Cabernet, and the only negative about our experience was that the woman in charge of our tasting disappeared for about 20 minutes to help clean up elsewhere, but there was another employee who helped us out, so we were not left fully on our own! In Paso, red wine is King. The Sauvignon Blanc white wine at VR has however been a big reason why we continue to be loyal members there. The other motive that keeps us coming back is their hospitality. This week, we dropped in at the new tasting room in Templeton with four non-member friends in tow. This occasion proved no different, as Michael was a terrific host. We had the pleasure of tasting well beyond the featured lists, and he even poured the Suendero red blend that was not on any of the listed offerings, but is my personal favorite. First time in Paso Robles trying out the wineries and JUST made it before regional stay at home order shut them down. Boo COVID...in any case, I'm so glad that my partner, Amy T., and I were able to secure a bistro and tasting reservation at Vina Robles. We were about a half hour early but were seated outside by the fountain, where the weather was quite nice and sunny on a Sunday in December. We opted for lunch and a wine flight - I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the All Reds flight (Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrah, Syrah, and a blend called Suendero). The spicy chicken sandwich was bomb and the focaccia bread was nice and crispy. Much larger than I expected, and it came with fries too - I ended up taking half home! The red wines were superb - there was not one that I didn't enjoy. We ended up purchasing a bottle of the cab and petite syrah, which comped the tastings. I appreciate the care that our server, Tom, showed us. Amid an uncertain time for wineries, and hearing that he was rather newly hired, we felt so welcome and taken care of, that it made for a great first tasting in Paso Robles! read more

The Service at this winery was despicable! Had a reservation for tasting, arrived early and was told by hostess to take a seat and our server would be right with us. The server was standing at the check in and knew who we were. The server waited on another table next to us and would disappear in the back. After waiting 30 mins to be even served a glass of water, my wife got furious and we left. The hostess walked by us too as she left her shift and didn't ask if we had been helped. We joined Vina Robles Winery last year and this is our first trip back. We attended the concert in the amphitheater. It is a great venue. Lots of delicious food to purchase. Our wine tasting as a club member was terrific! We got to do some side-by-side and taste a lot of variety. This helped me decide what I wanted for my next shipment as well what extras I wanted to purchase that day We are red wine lovers and there are very full body and rich wines and ones too age for many years. read more

We had never been wine tasting at Vina Robles, just visiting the amphitheater and we were very impressed. The tasting room was beautiful with multiple places to sit, high and low. Our tasting assistant Allan was excellent in pouring our tastings and providing history and knowledge about the wines we tasted and very attentive to when we finished our tastings and were ready for the next one. We were able to get complimentary tastings courtesy of our tickets to the concert the previous night at The Beach Boys. We got the almonds as a snack with our tasting and they were yummy with the olive oil and salt coating. Would recommend 10/10 read more

Day 1 ...arrived in Paso Robles and checked into hotel about noon...after leaving SD at 5 am!! this was our 2nd of 2 tastings today. We have our 3 wine clubs that we make sure to go to but i wanted to try something new...so this is one we chose. I don't recall how i picked but i'm glad it did. Main reason? wow they have a real amphitheater with big shows! how cool the winery itself? don't expect detailed descriptions of what you're drinking. don't expect to be sitting in the middle of a vineyard with breathtaking views. This is more "restaurant style" seating with a server who brings the wines and is very friendly. It was nice and we really enjoyed ourselves. tasting fee was waived with 1 bottle purchase. they had a memorial day weekend deal of 30% off 6 bottles or more ....we were going to each (4 of use) buy one bottle ..so instead we bought 6 @ 30% off (no brainer). would i be a member? maybe if i was local. wine was good service was good i liked it here =) read more

Four days of tasting in Paso Robles, and this was by far our best experience. What a gorgeous tasting room, beautifully appointed and very comfortable. There was not one wine we didn't enjoy between the four of us. Aside from the wine, the highlight of our tasting was a lovely young lady named Ahnika. So informative and helpful with recommendations to visit other spots near the coast so we could cool off a bit.
