Burrata & Beets

Every item is worth the try at least once ... we love this place. Service was excellent and the food to our liking.

Amazing views and food! Service was also great, the Vin Gris was spectacular! The salmon was the perfect lunch

Great views from the outdoor tables

We had a great time at Calcareous Vineyard for lunch and a wine tasting! They took great care of us and our wine guide Gabe was really informative about the vineyard and their wines. Really great views also while sitting at the outdoor tables with umbrellas for shade. This was some of the best food we've ever had at a winery as well. We really recommend the Parmesan Fries, the Marinated Olives and the Chicken and Jack Melt. This was enough food for two people to split for a filling lunch. Bonus: We were also greeted by an unexpected friend named Gizmo. Gizmo was one of the two dogs on the property walking around and saying hi to everybody.

Beautiful views of the valley, wine tasting, and a culinary menu to choose from. Because of the latter, it can get crowded quick on the weekends, so make sure to make a reservation. My husband and I each did a tasting, and got the burrata app and the mushroom ravioli to share. They were both delicious. We enjoyed the wine as well but didn't feel inclined to bring a bottle home. Our server was great; attentive even though they were quite booked, and was able to give us a little bit of info on each wine. Looking around, every server seemed to be providing a similar service, with some taking the time to really dive into the wines with you. Overall, we had a lovely time, would recommend, and would come back again. Overall, we had a lovely time.

This was my third visit to this winery. I always enjoy this location due to it's location and view. I always try to get seating right near the edge and just chill and relax and enjoy the scenery. It was fairly early in the morning so did not order anything but the fries to snack on while me and my wife had a flight. All the wines are very good cannot go wrong with any of them. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly, which made the experience better.

The lodge feel is an oasis for enjoying some sun. Wine club members can enjoy discounts on food & wine. Known for one of the best burgers. Certified angus wagyu beef patty, humboldt fog cheese, bacon, caramelized onion, grilled tomato & garlic aioli. Perfectly juicy in all the right places. So good! Definitely recommend. The bottles we chose were the 2022 Tres Violet and the 2021 Lloyd. With a brisk chill in the air sipping in the sun will warm you up and brighten your day. Coming back for more! Worth the trip to enjoy some wine and lunch with amazing views. A quaint winery with indoor or outdoor seating. To take in more of the grand views there's an elevated pathway to more intimate seating areas. The cute mascot dog "Rusty" will probably come over for a visit. For those tempted to feed him just be cautious with human food. Pet friendly only on the patio with a leash.

They have a beautiful view. George was knowledgeable about the wine. It's $40 for 4 wine tastings.

Great view outdoors. However, it's VERY windy in the afternoon!

We visited this winery at the end of 2024. It's our first time here and the experience overall is great. It's kind of windy getting up to the winery but the view of course is beautiful! Although it's a bit chilly despite a sunny weather, we chose to sit outside to enjoy the great view. We had to go back inside as the wind picked up and almost blew our umbrella away. The wine flight we tasted was in general good. We didn't like all the wines but liked one red wine very much and bought a bottle. The food was great, better than I anticipated. Everything we ordered was on point especially the burger. It's big, thick and juicy like they really mean business! LOL.....!!!! Definitely would like to come back just for the view next time I'm in the area.

What can I begin to say about Calcareous other than I wish there were more stars! We had such an amazing experience on our visit. Took our group a few minutes to settle after the winding road trip up to the winery, but that didn't take long. As soon as we were seated, we were immediately provided with an off the flight tasting and provided menus for either lunch or small bites. Our server was so kind and attentive. Our glass was never empty for too long. The views were breathtaking. I could have stayed there all day drinking and enjoying the view. Left with a few bottles and can't wait to visit again.

5 of us came here for lunch. We were so happy with our decision to come here. First off, our server, Philly was the absolute best. He was so friendly and kept us laughing. We will ask for one of his tables next time we come for lunch. Fabulous menu. Started with a Watermelon-Plum Gazpacho that was incredible. 4 of us had the Black Cod and one had the Grain Bowl. The Cod was perfectly cooked. Served with a small portion of rice and veggies, which was perfect for an afternoon meal. Also paired it all with an incredible bottle of their Chardonnay. $55pp including tip. Beautiful seating whether you are inside or out. All in all this was beyond our expectations. We will definitely come back and highly recommend Calcareous. You won't be disappointed!

Me and the hubby have been to Paso a few times now and we unanimously agree that Calcareous is a favorite of ours! The wines, staff, Parmesan French fries and views all make this spot a must when visiting this wine country!!

Absolutely beautiful views from Calcareous! The drive up is not for the faint of heart (I'm scared of heights and it was not fun), but you'll forget all about that once you get there. The food is outstanding and their wine isn't bad, either! Staff were all super friendly. We had a great time.

Butternut squash ravioli with shrimp and capers
Sabrina W.

Came for a girls wine weekend and stopped at Calcareous for lunch. The food was very good - their French fries are great and I got the butternut squash ravioli with shrimp which was also very good. The service could have been better. Our server initially said he usually just pours wine and wasn't intending on telling us about the wines. My friend had to explain that we had never been there before and then he agreed to tell us about the wines. It also felt like we had to drink our wine quickly, because at one point he came to pour the next wine and one of my friends hadn't finished her glass. He then asked if we were going to finish her glass so she didn't miss out on the wine he had brought to pour. We laughed but weren't sure if he was being serious so we drank the wine she had left in her glass so she could get the next tasting. Overall, the views were beautiful, the food and wine were good, but the service could have been better. I would go back to try again.

He was welcoming, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable throughout the entire tasting. He didn't just pour the wines, he walked us through each one, explaining where they came from and what made them unique. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it elevated the whole visit. FOOD: We didn't go for a full meal, but we did have some charcuterie--and wow. The cheese selection was delicious and paired perfectly with the wines. Simple, but very well done. AMBIANCE: This spot has such a cozy, homey feel. Sitting on the couch honestly felt like hanging out in someone's living room (in the best way). It's relaxed, comfortable, and perfect for slowing down and enjoying good wine and conversation. DRINKS: We did the 6-wine tasting (2 whites, 4 reds), and it was a great mix. Each wine felt thoughtfully chosen, and with Anthony guiding us through the tasting, we got so much more out of it than just drinking. His knowledge really brought each glass to life. OVERALL: If you're looking for a laid-back, intimate wine experience with great service, this is definitely a spot to check out. I'd come back again just for another tasting with Anthony.

WINE: 9/10 FOOD: 9/10 (limited time) SERVICE: 10/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 WINE: 9/10 Their tasting flight gave me a really nice range, from their crisp 2024 Rosé and well-balanced 2022 Chardonnay to their richer blends like the Four Chords and Reserve Cabernet. The wines feel very thoughtful and grounded in their estate grapes. Since it was our first wine tasting, the staff guided us through the flight, explaining the tasting notes and differences between the wines in a friendly and approachable way. FOOD: 9/10 At the time in July, they were hosting a limited-time backyard BBQ buffet. They shared that they don't normally host, but it was incredible. The BBQ meats were flavorful and perfectly cooked, the sides were fresh and satisfying, and the highlight of the buffet was the banana pudding. We were advised to pair it with their dessert wine, which was the last wine tasting on the list. SERVICE: 10/10 The staff were so friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We even met the owner, who was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about his wines. He shared stories about the vineyard and his family legacy, which made the experience personal and memorable. Between the owner and the staff, we felt completely supported and cared for throughout the tasting. AMBIANCE: 10/10 The vineyard and tasting room are so clean, well-structured, and beautifully maintained. The ranch-style barn with a wraparound porch overlooks rolling vineyards, creating the perfect setting to relax and enjoy your first tasting. The space is thoughtfully designed, making it easy to enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating depending on the weather. Extra notes: Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. Parking is manageable, and the entire property feels welcoming, organized, and approachable. If you're touring Paso Robles and want a winery that's beginner-friendly, impeccably maintained, and staffed with friendly and passionate people, Parrish Family Vineyard is absolutely worth a stop.

Our "guide" for today was Nyoka, and she was fabulous. I don't know if she was solely helping us or not; however, it sure seemed like it. She was really sweet, was so informative and just a pleasure to talk to. We did the tasting, and we also did the optional spice tasting for an additional $15. I would strongly encourage you to add in the spice tasting. It is definitely well worth it, and it goes with the wine tasting so well. Nyoka was very good at not only telling us about the wines; however, also telling us about the spices, history, growing conditions, the owners, and even the geography -- along with a map as a visual. She was truly a pleasure. We did end up buying three bottles to take home. These bottles are a little bit pricier than ones we usually buy. We usually fall in the $50 range and these were definitely in the $75 to $90 range for most of them; however, they were definitely good and likely premium. We had an excellent time, and would return again in the future.
