Carlee was amazing !! Great personal and friendly service. I would definitely come back . Scenery is phenomenal. Beautiful views . And wines are super. I tried a Sauvignon blanc and it was superb. I'm using a fan of it, but this one was good. They have a merlot/cab blend worth checking out. Also, you must have a reservation to get in .

DAOU winery is truly a breath taking winery. Beautiful both inside and outside. The views are magnificent. Bring your camera, photo opts for sure. The service is great! The wines are some of the best. Make reservations asap if you're even thinking about visiting this winery!

One of the most gorgeous vineyards on top of the hill! I've always loved DAOU wines so was excited to check out this winery. The views were spectacular and the setting is just unreal! My party got lucky with a very nice day so I could have truly spent hours drinking wine here. Our server was super nice as well and it was overall a wonderful experience. I wish I had more time here over other wineries on our tour. Loved the wine flight we got and normally would have ordered a bottle of red but went with the Sauv Blanc since it was so nice outside.

I came here for a tasting with 5 other girls on a Saturday afternoon. It was the perfect experience. No notes. We got to try a variety of wine. The sommelier was knowledgeable and explained each wine very well. I've tried other wineries in the area but thought the wines here were more complex and palatable. We also got the mezze platter, which was the perfect healthy-ish snack. The vibes and views were both immaculate. There was live music playing during our tastings, which made it a perfect girls day.

What a new years it was! We visited Daou with 8 adults and 5 babies under 1. Not sure if people appreciated that but the babies were all so good. With baby brain I can't remember our servers name, it was close to Oregon? Oregano? I promise to not sound rude, I really wish I could remember her name because she was honestly absolutely amazing. She made us feel so welcome, she was so chatty, she was so knowledgeable with our tasting. We have been to Daou several times and this was our favorite experience because of her. It was raining but still so cozy for the holiday! We sat out on the back patio and had the best time. My husband and I actually got engaged there in 2020 so this was extra special because we brought our baby for NYE. We purchased the Rose which was the first on the tastings menu. Soul of the Lion and The Pessimist is one of our favorites. Might be a little pricey but I can assure you it is worth it. Soul of the Lion was actually on this last tasting menu so we appreciated that. We also tried a new port that we had not had before which was awesome! Daou might be one of the prettiest wineries in Paso, so we highly recommend checking it out! Always enjoy our time visiting and thank you again to such a wonderful woman who was helping all of us and our babies have the best time!

I've been to Daou a couple of times now, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Paso. My mom loves wine, especially Daou bottles from Costco, so I decided to bring her here for the full experience. Definitely make reservations because it can get busy. The first time I came, we had to park in their lot and take a shuttle up to the winery, but this time we were able to drive straight to the vineyard with no shuttle needed. The tasting flight is $50 per person, and if you buy three bottles they'll waive one tasting fee, which is nice. Their wines are really good--super smooth--but the bottles are definitely on the pricier side. We also ordered food and it wasn't bad at all. I really enjoyed the margherita pizza, and the cheese and charcuterie board was pretty good too. The vineyard itself is beautiful with amazing views, and they're both dog friendly and baby friendly, which I really appreciate. Overall, it's always a great experience here and I'll for sure be back again.

DAOU Vineyards is worth every minute of the winding Paso drive. Those hilltop views are jaw-dropping. Booked a weekday early-afternoon slot (definitely reserve ahead). First time here and the tasting flight is the move: perfect intro to their lineup, generous pours, and every wine was outstanding. The charcuterie was great. The mozzarella pizza was slightly burnt. Staff was next-level: knowledgeable, warm, zero pretension, and genuinely excited to share the story about the Daou family. Everything screams classy: beautiful tasting room, spotless grounds, and those iconic Spanish-style vibes. Left with a few bottles and already planning the next trip. If you love food, wine and views, DAOU is a must.

I had such a wonderful experience with the best views. They also had a deal of waving your tasting if you bought a bottle so we bought the cheapest rosé bottle and our tasting was basically free and got to go home with a full bottle. Great staff team!

Great service yesterday at this winery. We have been members for many years and sometimes it's hit or miss. Today Ken greeted us promptly and even though they were not seating outside he let us take our glass of wine to outside to enjoy the view which is spectacular. Rolling hills go on forever, the winery sits high on the hillside. The wines were amazing! Got to see one of our other favorite servers Joshua also. It was a great visit and can't wait to go back.

The view was incredible. We did a wine tasing and accompanied it with a pizza and charcuterie board. The server was very knowledgeable and our time there was very pleasant. I will be coming back. It was my favorite of all the many wineries we visited in 4 days.

Quality/Quantity - What a BEAUTIFUL space, place! So "Napa" like! This was the only "busy" winery we went to on this 6 winery tour trip. And in my humble opinion, it was not that busy?!?! Or maybe they were going to have a special event later and needed the team to set up? Or wanted us regular guests to leave...? This was also the only winery to have a guard at the lower gate... We did not have reservations, as our experience so far was that we were the only guests/only customers at the previous 3 wineries. But security said they were booked?!?! He then called a few people and was able to get us bottle service, to which I said no problem. When we got to the top, there was another employee directing parking traffic and the main lot was full. A door greeter offered us a glass of Rose as we walked in. Just like my favorite Livermore winery, Murrieta's Well. So we were offered to taste some wines at the wine bar to make sure we liked the bottle we planned to drink. Amazing service. So sorry I can't find his name. Anyways, he asked a few questions of my wine preferences and brought out two bottles for me to taste. I gave feedback and he then brought out two more bottles. So we tasted and tasted and tasted... Then in the conversation, he learned that my daughter prefers Cabs (which I have cut back on significantly since I've stopped collecting), so two more bottles came out. Amazing service! I even tried a splash of their Sauvignon Blanc. Interesting, I guess we are still Napa loyal because the conclusion was that our $100 bottle we purchased was grown in Petaluma... Atmosphere - Beautiful winery, see all my pictures. I especially like all the separate, private and semi private spaces. We had the entire lower part of the winery to ourselves! So full?!?! I also noticed the team setting up for an event in one of the outdoor spaces. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm. Service - See above, exceeded our expectations. Price - $97 + very generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2007. We drink your wines often as you are also sold in Costcos. Well, your lower end wines/vintages. You are now our favorite beautiful winery here in Paso Robles. You just took that title from Justin's; congrats again.

This location is picturesque beautiful, the staff give you the VIP treatment the moment you arrive. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend outdoors so you can have a view of the surrounding area and vineyards. My favorite wine is their Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by Pinot Noir, Rose and Chardonnay. Depending on what food is being served, they have a wine for you. No matter which you choose, the wine is smooth, with no bitter after taste. Besides traveling to winery in Paso Robles, you can purchase a bottle at local markets or restaurants. Recently, I attended two wine tasting events in the Los Angeles area and was happy that a representative from the company was present to offer their wines for tasting and purchase. Note: During my last visit, the noticeable difference is that reservations are required. I understand the business need for this policy. You will be disappointed if there isn't availability as a walk-in customer. They are very popular, make sure you plan your visit and confirm your date and time. Don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent!

Despite being on a waiting list for several weeks and unable to secure a required reservation at Daou, our small group of five showed up first thing on a recent Saturday morning and incredibly, were able to be seated outside for a tasting! I've since read that you even need a reservation just to pick up some wine, so we were very grateful that it worked out for us. We were greeted at the entrance with a sparkling rosé and ushered to outdoor sofa seating amid their stunning gardens and vineyard views. Elika was an outstanding and extremely personable server, providing lots of history and stories behind the wines. We enjoyed a delicious mezze platter and even got to chat with executive chef Spencer Johnston as he came out for some herb cuttings. We tasted a range of Bordeaux-style wines, as well as a few of their Patrimony single varietal wines. My favorites were the 2023 Estate Sauv Blanc and their flagship 2021 Estate Soul of a Lion. It was definitely a treat to get to experience Daou, with their excellent wines, customer service and atmosphere!

    Do they allow dogs?

We brought our 30lb poodle mix and he was a perfect gentleman as well as the other well behaved dogs we encountered.

With reservations for tasting, is there a tour of the estate?

Not that l know of but l am sure it could be arranged. I have never seen a more beautiful vineyard!

Does Daou have charging stations for electric vehicles?

    Negative

When it comes to the food menu, do you offer vegan options?

If we make reservations for tasting, can some of us opt out and just get a glass of something?

I believe so. Not everyone in the party has to taste

If you have reservations booked with a group of friends and someone doesn't drink is that okay?

Yes! I believe the reservation is mainly for seating purposes.... I reserved for my family of 4 which is 2 adults and 2 kids. We only paid for 2 tastings.

Can I walk in just buy some wine? Reservations are booked :(

From what I just learned today, the answer is no. I just called and asked that same question and was told, if you come by 1st thing when they open, maybe, but during the day, they will most likely be to busy to serve you!

It said close at 5pm. Our reservation is at 4:30pm, can we stay longer?

They didn't rush us out but we didn't stay more than 15 min past 5. Most people had cleared out. I can say maybe two more parties were still there once we decided to leave.

Can we stop by and do a tasting or is it absolutely only by reservation? They are all sold out today. :(

Reservations only! They are always booked in advance. I've gone 3 times this year and book a months well in advance. So sorry :(

Hi! Do I need to make reservations for wine tasting?

Definitely yes! I know they've had limited spaces with Covid. When I went we booked 3 weeks in advance!

Do they have the spray mist to make it feel more comfortable in this heat?

I believe so. The patio is pretty nicely shaded

Do they allow you to bring your own picnic?

No, but they do have a full service kitchen

Do I need to make reservations or is walk-in ok? There are going to be 4 of us

Highly recommend it. It's a very popular location.

Are babies/ kids allowed? Planning a trip but baby has to come with, checking to see before we make reservations

    Yes , we went with a 2 1/2 and a 4 year old . Reserved a table outside.

Can you bring your own picnic/snacks?

They have a great varieties to go with their wines. WHY bring your own?

    Are kids welcome?

Yes they are welcome. Its a beautiful restaurant too

What is the price for wine tasting?

I think the one we selected was about $20 each but they have different tastings you can choose from. Also you can just share one. Tip: look for a coupon at a nearest hotel

We booked the "wine tasting and lunch", which was a 90 minute experience on their patio ($40). When we arrived, we were greeted with the first wine on the tasting list, which was the Grenache (pretty good, different than what I normally go for). The patio had a nice view of the rolling hills and we could see goats running across them in the distance. The tasting consisted of 4 wines, and we also got a bonus pour. Our host was friendly and knowledgeable, and I really enjoyed the wine selection, especially the "Messer" red. We also ordered lunch, and both my Harvest Salad and Parmesan Fries were very tasty. Second and most importantly, I wanted to thank Toast Tours for a wonderful and memorable experience, from beginning to end. My Wife and I were making our first visit to the Central Coast, and decided that visiting some local wineries would be a nice way to get more acquainted with the area. I liked some of the reviews I had seen on Yelp regarding Toast Tours, as well as watching a a few quick YouTube vids before contacting them. From the very start, Kristina was a huge help. Thank you again. I conveyed some of what were looking to do on this trip, as well as our past experiences in Napa and Sonoma. Kristina did a masterful job of giving us options. Some more mainstream and like we have experienced before, as well as some smaller, boutique style options. Every question, she had an answer and suggestion for, and when we decided to book, I was confident in our choices. Toast Tours also takes care of the reservations, so that's one less thing to worry about as well. We chose to visit three wineries; Tablas, DAOU, and Ciento. All three were an amazing experience (I'll write more about those individually on their pages). I do want to highlight Ciento, however. This was a direct recommendation from Kristina, and they really stole the show. We would have never known or visited this wonderful winery if it wasn't for Kristina and Toast Tours. Our driver, Jimmy, was on time and extremely courteous. He has a wealth of wine knowledge, as well as local area knowledge, and he shared them in a fun and engaging way. He was a great help at each of the wineries, getting us in and out with our reservations, while also assising with our purchases. Thanks again, Jimmy!. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and they provide water and some small snacks, if needed. Another thing I want to mention that was very nice as well is the price. While these types tours can be a bit pricey at times, I feel their rates are more than reasonable. Kristina itemizes everything beforehand, so there are no surprises. If you decide to make some small changes to the itinerary, Toast Tours will work with you, and give you the cost differential. Exceptional service from top to bottom, and I would gladly and confidently book with Toast Tours again..

Perhaps other peoples palate will align better with the wine makers style.

It's great to visit and the views are AMAZING! There is also a theater showing after the tour on the hearts family. Totally recommend visiting and bring your walking shoes!

It's fascinating to find European-style castles right here in America…read more There are several tour options, each covering a different section of the castle. We chose the Grand Rooms tour, which is recommended for first-time visitors. All tours are guided and run on a strict schedule. We visited on a weekend and had no trouble getting tickets, though we did wait 1 to 1.5 hours for the next available slot. We used that time to watch the documentary film about the castle, and I highly recommend it. The movie adds context that deepens your appreciation, even though the tour covers much of the same history. Note: Only porta potties were available during our visit, so plan a restroom break beforehand if needed. The welcome center has a café and gift shop. The castle feels like a true reflection of America: an amalgamation of history from around the world. As our guide explained, William Randolph Hearst was no purist. He brought in pieces from every corner of the globe. The art and architecture span centuries and cultures, including Egypt, Italy, Spain, France, Greece, China, and Persia. Persian rugs, Chinese art, Egyptian sculptures, Italian paintings, and Roman statues fill the rooms. The tapestries in the Great Hall are breathtaking. It's impossible to absorb every detail in one short tour, but soaking in architecture that has stood the test of time made the visit unforgettable. Both the pools are covered as part of all the tours apparently. These pools aren't huge but the tiles and century old artwork surrounding them made them extraordinary.
