We came upon Alta Colina by coincidence and are so, so grateful we did!! The wines in the tasting were delicious and diverse - we loved the full-bodied white wine and the slope syrah. Ivey served us - I've been drinking wine for years, but I learned so much from her. You can tell she really loves working at Alta and loves the whole process. We were lucky enough to also have Bob, the founder, stop by to say hi. He even took us on a full vineyard tour in his truck and told us about the history, the process, and the grapes. Bob was incredibly welcoming and generous with his time. A GORGEOUS property and an overall great experience -- we will definitely be back.

Cam here on July 5, 2024. The service was great! The wine tasting was a good experience. Purchased a few wines to give out to friends and myself. Will love to come again.

Wonderful winery. I arrived later in the day and was greeted immediately. Unique wines and an exciting take on flavor. Knowledgeable staff with a passion in the details and I vibe with that deeply. The Carbonic Grenache was recommended to me. Delicious! I will be back because I need more time with all their wines. There is a lake on the property with an option to stay in one of the campers, they call it Trailer Pond. How cool is that?! Check it out for yourself.

Pours were not even.

I don't know where to begin with our experience at Alta Colina. We came by as a group of four on a June weekend, excited to try their wine and check out the property. We come to Central Coast once a year and we love to explore wineries in the area. Driving up to the property was easy, check in was seamless, and then things went downhill from here. We were shown our table for tasting which was outside, right by the parking lot in the front. I was a bit confused at the time, but didn't say anything to our host right away. We started with our pours, and what felt like for each pour was just a splash of the wine. It was not enough of a pour to actually taste the notes of the wine. I have been to several wineries in Napa, Sonoma, Healdsburg, Paso, etc... and this was the smallest pour I have ever seen. Our host was also very much occupied with another larger group at the time, and we felt very much neglected. The amount of pour we got, did not equal the time waiting for our next one. It felt like we were waiting forever for her to come by since we finished our pours very fast, then another host started helping us. Lastly, we were not impressed with the wine. This place was highly recommended by local friends, and I was expecting the gorgeous views which is all over their website and Instagram. It was a bit deceiving of marketing on their end. At the end of our tasting, I had to go back and let them know we needed to move on to our lunch reservation. As I was paying for the tasting, I expressed my concerns to the staff and though one of them seemed empathetic, the other did not. I strongly do not agree with the price of their tasting with the amount of pour they offered, and I did voice they need to be a bit more transparent about their tasting offers (pond/trailer versus a parking lot). Too bad, will not recommend or come back again.

Oh my goodness I loved this place! My friends and I came here since two of them are members. We did the wine tour with wonderful views of the winery atop the hill. Our lovely and super sweet tour guide Ivy made the experience that much more spectacular. She knew her wine and explained everything with a lot of joy in her work. I loved every single tasting, especially the Sun Worshipper! Can't wait to come back!

I've visited Alta Colina twice now and both experiences have been exceptional! Each time I've been here it's been with my friend who is a wine club member, so we've really gotten the VIP experience. The first visit we did a private cellar tasting. The dark room with the string lights and towers of wine barrels surrounding us created the most beautiful wine tasting atmosphere. This experience was a great introduction to the winery. We learned a lot about the varietals at the vineyard and a bit about the wine making process. Bob, the owner and winemaker stopped in to say hello and joined us for a little bit. Although I thought that visit would be hard to top, the second visit was even better! This time we had a private summit tasting in the Vineyard with none other than Bob himself. We hopped in his truck and rode up the mountain to the top or the vineyard where we had expansive views overlooking the vines and the rolling hills. I was in absolute awe the entire time of just how beautiful our view was. There's just something about drinking wine surrounded by the vines the grapes came from! Having Bob as our host for the morning was a true treat, we were able to talk with him about how the winery came to be, the different soil types and why specific vines were planted where they were. Overall this is a great family owned winery, you can tell how much care goes into the wine, and how much they care about and want to know their customers. Looking forward to my next visit!

I booked a private tasting for the wife and I last week while we were celebrating our 20th anniversary. Our host took us in his truck up the hills behind the tasting room to a large oak tree where we got to taste wine on a shaded patio with a nice cooling breeze. We passed their pond where they have 5 or 6 small Airstream RV's that are available for rent. Seems like a cool place to stay in Paso. We really enjoyed the Rhone style wines they offered and our host gave us a lot of great knowledge about the winery.

This was actually my first wine tasting experience, and my partner and I couldn't have come across a better spot to start. WINE: 9/10 FOOD: 9/10 (limited time) SERVICE: 10/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 WINE: 9/10 Their tasting flight gave me a really nice range, from their crisp 2024 Rosé and well-balanced 2022 Chardonnay to their richer blends like the Four Chords and Reserve Cabernet. The wines feel very thoughtful and grounded in their estate grapes. Since it was our first wine tasting, the staff guided us through the flight, explaining the tasting notes and differences between the wines in a friendly and approachable way. FOOD: 9/10 At the time in July, they were hosting a limited-time backyard BBQ buffet. They shared that they don't normally host, but it was incredible. The BBQ meats were flavorful and perfectly cooked, the sides were fresh and satisfying, and the highlight of the buffet was the banana pudding. We were advised to pair it with their dessert wine, which was the last wine tasting on the list. SERVICE: 10/10 The staff were so friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We even met the owner, who was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about his wines. He shared stories about the vineyard and his family legacy, which made the experience personal and memorable. Between the owner and the staff, we felt completely supported and cared for throughout the tasting. AMBIANCE: 10/10 The vineyard and tasting room are so clean, well-structured, and beautifully maintained. The ranch-style barn with a wraparound porch overlooks rolling vineyards, creating the perfect setting to relax and enjoy your first tasting. The space is thoughtfully designed, making it easy to enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating depending on the weather. Extra notes: Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. Parking is manageable, and the entire property feels welcoming, organized, and approachable. If you're touring Paso Robles and want a winery that's beginner-friendly, impeccably maintained, and staffed with friendly and passionate people, Parrish Family Vineyard is absolutely worth a stop.

Things started on a bad note when we arrived at 4:00pm and we were told by the gentleman in the tasting room that we were 30 minutes late for our appointed tasting time. I checked my reservation and sure enough, we were late...our bad. Unfortunately, his attitude reflected this for the remainder of our visit. It was a Thursday afternoon, and we were the only people there. Just before we finished, two couples walked in without reservations (the winery next door recommended they come over), and they seemed to be treated much better than we were. The gentleman pouring for us basically told us the vintage and varietal of each pour, then disappeared from the tasting room for 10-15 minutes. We couldn't discuss the wines, winery, or get any information above what was on the tasting notes. In addition, my wife and I were not impressed by the wines, and all the red blends seemed to look and taste the same. We hardly ever dump wine during a tasting, but these were just not to our liking. I always say, everyone's palate is unique and what we like, or don't like, may be completely different from you, so definitely try them for yourself. As I mentioned in the beginning, many people love McPrice Myers wines, but they weren't for us. Not sure we'd stop in again.

The cheese selection was delicious and paired perfectly with the wines. Simple, but very well done. AMBIANCE: This spot has such a cozy, homey feel. Sitting on the couch honestly felt like hanging out in someone's living room (in the best way). It's relaxed, comfortable, and perfect for slowing down and enjoying good wine and conversation. DRINKS: We did the 6-wine tasting (2 whites, 4 reds), and it was a great mix. Each wine felt thoughtfully chosen, and with Anthony guiding us through the tasting, we got so much more out of it than just drinking. His knowledge really brought each glass to life. OVERALL: If you're looking for a laid-back, intimate wine experience with great service, this is definitely a spot to check out. I'd come back again just for another tasting with Anthony.

You get the welcome tea drink which the cup is used for water throughout your tasting. Very friendly and sweet. A little joke throughout the whole experience with the food pairing and meal. I was joking that he was hyping up the meal that it better be worth it. Let me just say, he was 100 percent right. The best meal out of all the times I've been..... It didn't take long till our table was ready. Also it was a first time that we were seating outside in the courtyard. Normally it's inside the room once you enter the courtyard. It was a nice Saturday and the weather was great. A nice touch to the beginning of something sweet. There was also another table set up down in the garden area that was utilized as well. Gabby who took are of us that afternoon was the sweetest. The details and explanation of everything was to the tee. Also, this is the second time that I had to mentioned they forgot our little posey of flowers...lol... The small details that we love. Depending on the menu and tasting, the pairing is brought out with each glass. Wine are set up first and pairing followed. This visit, we started off with three pairing. Bacon and leeks strata, amazing by the way. Then the antipasto salad followed by a 4 spice seared duck breast. Wow, just with those three pairing with the wine was excellent. Each wine delicately chosen to match the meal, details on details. Afterwards, the last two paring were brought out. The oven roasted portobello mushrooms and ramen were the last of the pairing accompanied by the wine pair. Just those small tasting alone was excellent. To finish off with the tasting which with members we alway go for the lunch pairing afterwards. A meal with a glass to accommodate the dish. This by far was the best I've had. A 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon paired with black angus filet mignon. Poomes paille, bordelaise, wedge salad of half romaine lettuce with Parmesan, bacon, mini san marzano tomatoes, asparagus, Tokyo turnip, chives and Caesar dressing. Wow, it was fantastic. The streak was cooked perfectly with a nice pink center. Salad was crunchy and paired well with all the trimming and then you have the wine pair, chefs kiss. The chef knows their food. Everything was excellent as alway and this was another wonderful experience. A first time tasting in the courtyard was great. Gabby was amazing and the sweetest. And the gentlemen checking us in.
