Out of all the times which I've been, quite a few throughout the year has to be the best yet. For the wine and the food paring. We had an early reservations 5/2 just after they opened. When we arrived, give or take a couple of parties already seated for the first seating. The gentleman that checked us was the sweetest. You get the welcome tea drink which the cup is used for water throughout your tasting. Very friendly and sweet. A little joke throughout the whole experience with the food pairing and meal. I was joking that he was hyping up the meal that it better be worth it. Let me just say, he was 100 percent right. The best meal out of all the times I've been..... It didn't take long till our table was ready. Also it was a first time that we were seating outside in the courtyard. Normally it's inside the room once you enter the courtyard. It was a nice Saturday and the weather was great. A nice touch to the beginning of something sweet. There was also another table set up down in the garden area that was utilized as well. Gabby who took are of us that afternoon was the sweetest. The details and explanation of everything was to the tee. Also, this is the second time that I had to mentioned they forgot our little posey of flowers...lol... The small details that we love. Depending on the menu and tasting, the pairing is brought out with each glass. Wine are set up first and pairing followed. This visit, we started off with three pairing. Bacon and leeks strata, amazing by the way. Then the antipasto salad followed by a 4 spice seared duck breast. Wow, just with those three pairing with the wine was excellent. Each wine delicately chosen to match the meal, details on details. Afterwards, the last two paring were brought out. The oven roasted portobello mushrooms and ramen were the last of the pairing accompanied by the wine pair. Just those small tasting alone was excellent. To finish off with the tasting which with members we alway go for the lunch pairing afterwards. A meal with a glass to accommodate the dish. This by far was the best I've had. A 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon paired with black angus filet mignon. Poomes paille, bordelaise, wedge salad of half romaine lettuce with Parmesan, bacon, mini san marzano tomatoes, asparagus, Tokyo turnip, chives and Caesar dressing. Wow, it was fantastic. The streak was cooked perfectly with a nice pink center. Salad was crunchy and paired well with all the trimming and then you have the wine pair, chefs kiss. The chef knows their food. Everything was excellent as alway and this was another wonderful experience. A first time tasting in the courtyard was great. Gabby was amazing and the sweetest. And the gentlemen checking us in. We were tasting on this side of town and decided to pop in to Le Cuvier as we were driving by, we arrived too late to do the food and wine pairing, but were still able to do a tasting - which was exactly what we were looking to do anyways. Sat on a long bench with a beautiful view and Miranda brought us out our wines one at a time. She doesn't normally do tastings, so it was very kind of her to stick around and let us taste! We had so much fun chatting with her about the wines, history of the winery, and Paso in general. We really liked a lot of the wines here and ended up leaving with a bottle of their cab sauv and l'enfant du pape. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy the food and wine pairing, the menu changes seasonally and sounded amazing when we were there! read more

The food was amazing and much higher quality than your normal food pairings. The chef knows what he's doing. The wines were also great and our host was very knowledgeable. Xavier was our wine host/educator that day, and he was a pro at handling simultaneous tastings, while also spending equal time with all parties in the private tasting room. Their Chardonnay aged in neutral oak was stunning. Instead of the usual heavy, buttery notes, this wine was fresh, fruit-driven, and incredibly well-balanced, with a complexity that made me sit up and take notice. All of Le Cuvier's wines share a signature profile: soft tannins, bold flavor, and remarkable structure. This is thanks in part to their philosophy of aging all wines in neutral oak for nearly three years, allowing the true character of the wine to shine without overpowering wood influence. They also use dry-farmed grapes, which adds a unique depth and earthiness to their wines that you won't find just anywhere. Two other standouts: the Petite Sirah, which was rich, dark, and powerful without being overwhelming, and the Grenache, which showed beautiful spice, red fruit, and elegance. Amazing views! This winery used to be a residence so there are separated locations on the property which would be nice if you're having a party or gathering. The service was pretty quick and the wine knowledge was high. I think what elevated the experience was the sampling of food provided with the wines. Wine paired with food. What a brilliant idea! I spotted this one when I was hunting for vineyards to visit in the Paso Robles area - the concept above intrigued me. They called us in advance and let us know that salmon would be the entre. We though that would be great - and it was. So great I ate it before I thought about taking a picture (sorry). The tasting area has a tree growing in the middle of it. It's open air, and we had a nice breeze which helped keep things cool. Spot coolers were stationed around the area (evaporative type) which helped keep the temperatures moderate. The starting course (see the picture) was 5 bite sized nuggets of goodness. On the left was apple slices with a rich sauce, above that was pork loin on break, next to that was two slices of rib eye with sauce, and they two other dishes that went quite well with the wine. The main course was salmon, and it was done perfectly. Even the skin was edible (and I usually end up double-bagging salmon skin and pitching it). The seasoning was just perfect, as was the wine pairing. The service and staff were just top notch. The food pairings were perfect for matching up food and wine - not too much, not too little - just right. The salmon entre was very filling, and absolutely delicious. Reservations are required, so look them up and make one. If you are in the area, you'd be missing a great opportunity if you don't try this entertainment option. read more

We are members of the wine club and usually love the lunch pairing. Unfortunately, their pick up party was lacking though, which was the same cost as the lunch pairing. The lunch pairing is usually very upscale and beautifully plated. Unfortunately, the pick up party, which I expected to be even more high-end as a gratitude to their members, was more like a barbecue. The food was not the best. The wine was of course excellent as usual and the staff was very nice. I also recommend them putting an air conditioning unit outside for the staff. Did the original food and wine pairing. Advertised as $90/person, we were expecting a full course meal. However, we were shocked to see each course was the smallest bite of food. The reason I didn't dock another star was because we bought some wines and our tasting went down to $45/person, which was more reasonable. However, we definitely had to stop by another place to get more food afterwards. Especially if you're being served a lot of wine, you need more food to avoid getting so drunk. It's my second time here with my boyfriend and his family who has been a member for so long (M. Marsh) and sad to say but they had failed again and this is within a 6 month period. The reason behind this is the first time my boyfriend got food poison , how you may ask well his father is a doctor and was diagnosed on the scene. The second time was today. They forgot our main course for our wine tasting which was the pork loin. We basically were there for 3 hours. They had no excuse but to say the board, what about the board??? The kitchen staff didn't read it and on top of that before coming here they knew that one of the guest is allergic to bell pepper yet they still served bell pepper on his food. The ambiance is nice, you can hold a conversation with your guest but you can also hear other guest chatting. The decor is very chic with a touch of Europe. The view is amazing. There are so many wineries in Paso to choose from and Le Cuvier should be on your list!! The scenery alone is worth the drive. Me, the hubby and my cousin and her hubby came on a Saturday around 12 with reservations ( 90 min experience). We were delighted to find out it came with a food pairing and 5 tasting wines. When we arrived we were greeted with a palate cleansing tea ( I liked it but the cousins wanted more sugar in it lol). The hubby is allergic to almonds and they were accommodating in making sure there was nothing that would cause a reaction. Jordan our server was very knowledgeable about the winery and gave us the history of Le Cuvier. He explained each wine and how it paired with each bite sized food item ( my fave was the duck mole on a mini tortillas chip) chefs kiss The wines are strong yall!! lol. We've been members for several years, and hands down, this is the best wine club we've ever joined (as have many of our friends)! We just attended another pickup party, and we loved the way they had stations set up with the new wines and paired bites so we could mingle with our friends before being seated on the patio for the final wine paired entree. If you plan ahead you can order a lunch tasting, the bites and lunch pair so nicely with the wines, they are known for their reds. Blown away by the kindness of this winery! My husband and I came here for my birthday on a Monday. I was very sad because Le Cuvier only offers the full wine and lunch pairing on the weekend. Since it was Monday, we did the wine and appetizers pairing, which is offered daily. When the hostess and owner found out it was my birthday, they had the chef make the weekend only lunch pairing for me specially, and it meant so much! The chef even came to talk to us after and he was so kind and we learned a lot of good tips about grilling from him! This winery is a must in Paso! It is beautiful, the food and wine pairing is one of a kind AND each wine has its own creative story, which is so fun to read as you sip. I'm a sucker for creative verbosity, but when it came to the winemaker's tasting notes at Le Cuvier I was simply unprepared. Yes, the wine pairing is absolutely a must do. It's practically mandatory if tasting in Paso Robles. The small venue combined with magnificent views makes for a magical experience. But what turned us customers into members were those amazing tasting notes. This creative space is already connecting with my artistic soul, but when faced with blushingly good words I knew this was a place for me. When it comes to wine tasting, I think that the service either makes or breaks the experience. We have been going to Le Couvier for years, and their wines are excellent. This time we had Jordan serving us, and he was so excellent that we re-joined as members because of him! This is a small winery, and their owner (now passed) wrote the book on wine making in Paso, training many other winery owners on how to make excellent wine. They are very "Member" oriented. One of the unique aspects of their tasting event is that every wine you taste comes with an exotic food pairing, which in fact is amazing when eating it with the matching wine. This takes wine tasting to the next level. Also, their gorgeous property provides an amazing view of the adjacent valley, which is a special bonus to the experience. Members get to taste and eat in the Owner's house which is now used as the member lounge, another fantastic benefit to being a member. They also offer members individual "Library Tasting events" which was probably the most amazing wine tasting experience of a lifetime (in my opinion). All in all, this is one of our top 3 wineries in Paso. We have been going there for years, and they keep getting better!
