We love and are members of Le Cuvier. The wines are delicious, the tasting room is lovely with an amazing view, they are dog friendly and they do incredible food & wine pairings! As a member, it is only $10 for a tasting with food and the food is delicious. It's fun to actually experience how wine can enhance food. Very friendly and knowledgeable service too. Highly recommend visiting! Be sure to make an appointment.
We were tasting on this side of town and decided to pop in to Le Cuvier as we were driving by, we arrived too late to do the food and wine pairing, but were still able to do a tasting - which was exactly what we were looking to do anyways. Sat on a long bench with a beautiful view and Miranda brought us out our wines one at a time. She doesn't normally do tastings, so it was very kind of her to stick around and let us taste! We had so much fun chatting with her about the wines, history of the winery, and Paso in general. We really liked a lot of the wines here and ended up leaving with a bottle of their cab sauv and l'enfant du pape. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy the food and wine pairing, the menu changes seasonally and sounded amazing when we were there!
I have to say I have enjoyed many fabulous wine tasting over the years but this experience was probably my top. First of all the view was gorgeous, and it was fascinating to hear about how they make their boutique wines.. The showstopper was the food pairing that went with the wine. These were chef created food pairings to be exact. Alex and Xavier could not have presented the wine better! I can't wait to come back!
Came for the food and wine pairing and it was absolutely phenomenal! Definitely need a reservation because they do fill up. The food was amazing and much higher quality than your normal food pairings. The chef knows what he's doing. The wines were also great and our host was very knowledgeable. They give you small booklets with very beautiful descriptions of each of the wines as well as the small bites. Our favorite small bite was the filet and the cabbage roll! Will definitely recommend.
...and once again, we had the BEST tasting experience here! Whether it's a bi-annual visit with just me and my husband, or if we bring our closest friends with us, the crew at Le Cuvier is always so welcoming! Xavier was our wine host/educator that day, and he was a pro at handling simultaneous tastings, while also spending equal time with all parties in the private tasting room. I'm still amazed at how many wine glasses he could hold on one hand!!! LOL. Special shout-out to Stephanie, our wine host/educator from our last visit, who stopped by to say hi and helped fill our water glasses too (so sweet of her for remembering us). Glad we were able to share the best experience with our closest friends, and the reason why we love Le Cuvier! From the beautiful views, delicious food pairing, phenomenal wines, and most of all, amazing staff! Perfect ending to a blessed weekend in Paso Robles. Thank you so much, Le Cuvier. Came in for the food and wine pairing because my friend said she's heard great things about this experience. It was so good that I joined the wine club and booked the lunch for the next day. Looks like I'll be visiting Paso Robles a lot more frequently now, since Chef Kyle creates new bite pairings every 2 months and the lunch every 3 months =d They also post their recipes online. The tomato sauce was amazing paired with their 2021 Petite Sirah. I've purchased 2 bottles and am waiting patiently for the recipe to be posted so I can make it at home and revisit that delicious pairing! Yum!
Le Cuvier Winery is something truly special--an experience that goes far beyond just tasting wine. What sets this place apart is their extraordinary ability to pair food and wine in a way that feels thoughtful, refined, and completely unforgettable. Each wine is served with a perfectly matched small bite that elevates both the wine and the food. The pairings are exquisite--not just tasty, but crafted with intention and creativity. We also had the pleasure of enjoying their lunch and wine pairing, which was equally impressive. Every dish was beautifully executed and complemented the wines so naturally--it felt like each course told a story. The staff at Le Cuvier were equally remarkable. Warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, they made us feel like we were part of an exclusive, curated experience rather than just visitors at a tasting room. A special shout-out to Lawrence, who was both passionate and professional--his deep knowledge and charisma added so much to our visit. Getting to Le Cuvier does require a bit of commitment--the drive up the narrow, winding, single-lane road wasn't my favorite part of the day. But the second we arrived and took in the views (and that first sip), I knew it was absolutely worth it. Now, let's talk about the wines. I've never been a fan of Chardonnay--until now. Their Chardonnay aged in neutral oak was stunning. Instead of the usual heavy, buttery notes, this wine was fresh, fruit-driven, and incredibly well-balanced, with a complexity that made me sit up and take notice. All of Le Cuvier's wines share a signature profile: soft tannins, bold flavor, and remarkable structure. This is thanks in part to their philosophy of aging all wines in neutral oak for nearly three years, allowing the true character of the wine to shine without overpowering wood influence. They also use dry-farmed grapes, which adds a unique depth and earthiness to their wines that you won't find just anywhere. Two other standouts: the Petite Sirah, which was rich, dark, and powerful without being overwhelming, and the Grenache, which showed beautiful spice, red fruit, and elegance. If you're looking for a wine tasting that's immersive, elevated, and unlike anything else in Paso Robles, Le Cuvier is the place. Yes, the drive may test your nerves--but once you're up there, you'll never want to come back down.
Amazing views! This winery used to be a residence so there are separated locations on the property which would be nice if you're having a party or gathering. The service was pretty quick and the wine knowledge was high. I think what elevated the experience was the sampling of food provided with the wines. Everything was so good and the wine taste was enhanced with every bite. I fell in love with their Zinfandel as it was so crisp and refreshing for a red.
Wine paired with food. What a brilliant idea! I spotted this one when I was hunting for vineyards to visit in the Paso Robles area - the concept above intrigued me. They called us in advance and let us know that salmon would be the entre. We though that would be great - and it was. So great I ate it before I thought about taking a picture (sorry). The tasting area has a tree growing in the middle of it. It's open air, and we had a nice breeze which helped keep things cool. Spot coolers were stationed around the area (evaporative type) which helped keep the temperatures moderate. The starting course (see the picture) was 5 bite sized nuggets of goodness. On the left was apple slices with a rich sauce, above that was pork loin on break, next to that was two slices of rib eye with sauce, and they two other dishes that went quite well with the wine. The main course was salmon, and it was done perfectly. Even the skin was edible (and I usually end up double-bagging salmon skin and pitching it). The seasoning was just perfect, as was the wine pairing. The service and staff were just top notch. The food pairings were perfect for matching up food and wine - not too much, not too little - just right. The salmon entre was very filling, and absolutely delicious. Reservations are required, so look them up and make one. If you are in the area, you'd be missing a great opportunity if you don't try this entertainment option.

I'm a sucker for creative verbosity, but when it came to the winemaker's tasting notes at Le Cuvier I was simply unprepared. Yes, the wine pairing is absolutely a must do. It's practically mandatory if tasting in Paso Robles. The small venue combined with magnificent views makes for a magical experience. But what turned us customers into members were those amazing tasting notes. This creative space is already connecting with my artistic soul, but when faced with blushingly good words I knew this was a place for me. We have since been back (literally the next week!) and have spoke high praise to all that would listen. Le Cuvier may not be for everyone, but it's definitely the place for me. read more

Beautiful mountain-top views from Le Cuvier's outdoor dining setup during covid. Reservations required, as we found pretty much all wineries have been during these times. They take restrictions and safety very seriously. Once you arrive, somebody comes to greet you then your table is set up while you wait at your car. You are then shown to your table with all tastings and food laid out on the table. They utilize a "transfer table" to bring anything else to you such as water, as they do not take or place anything directly on the dining table once you're seated. The lunch menu changes approximately monthly, and is a very good deal for the quality. Their wine is at the higher price point, $75/bottle for non-members. When drinking a bottle of the Pentimento (red) at home, we felt it's best to drink with food. Goes great with steak, pizza, or charcuterie board. read more

Amazed is an understatement of how we felt about this winery. Right from the start, we were treated so well by everyone we encountered here. We had reservations at 11:45 on a Friday morning. This was our very first trip to Paso Robles and Le Cuvier, through some serendipitous reason, was to be our first stop. There's a sign at the parking lot that tells you to wait in your car. We didn't have to wait even a few seconds and were immediately approached by not one, but two of the hostesses. They informed us that our table was being prepared and to wait in the car until it's ready. That wait was not painful at all, considering the view from our car (see photo). An added bonus was that the hostess asked us if we were old enough to be there, in a joking way. That made me blush considering I'm 31.. hehe When the time came, we were led to a table that consisted of 6 pours each and the food pairings, along with the utensils that were so carefully wrapped in a very fancy napkin and had a couple bunches of rosemary adorning it. I was blown away at first sight. One very important detail I have to point out (being a healthcare worker) is how seriously this place takes social distancing. We went to 3 wineries today and this was the only one that had the servers stand 6 feet apart from the customers. Even with serving water and additional pours, they placed those in a separate table and had us get it from that said table. I really appreciated that, although by the end of this tasting, I really wanted to give our server Mo a hug. On to the wines: there wasn't one single wine that my girlfriend and I disliked during the tasting. We had Chardonnay, L'Enfant Du Pape (GSM), Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Malbec and everything was so easy to drink without it being watered down. Lord knows how much I hate tannin-y wine, and there definitely are no tannins in these wines at Le Cuvier. The pairings were also perfectly curated and really went well with the wines. My favorite was the scone/cookie that went with the Chardonnay. I was on the fence about becoming a member because of the steep prices, but what drove me over the edge was the Rosé. Gosh that was probably the best Rosé I've had. I think they have a right to charge $74 (nonmembers)/$53 (members) per bottle because of how good their product actually is. To top it all off, the service was epic and that truly makes a difference. Thank you Mo and Le Cuvier, for giving us an unforgettable first impression of Paso Robles. We will be returning in the fall to pick up our shipment. read more

I really wanted to like this winery, and while the 2 stars given are specifically for their Cabernet Sauvignon and the appetizer food pairing - we were treated terribly by the staff here. I was part of a group of 8 who booked Le Cuvier as part of my friend's 30th birthday. Our group decided that it would be safer to book a driver rather than drive ourselves through the hills sine we'd all be drinking and wanted to be safe. As we stepped out of the van, an older male (who I assumed to be another customer but now I'm not sure) turned to another person next to him and goes "Here comes the trouble group". We pretended not to hear and just ignore him, but then he turned to his friend again and said "They're probably sloshed already". With this, I politely let him know that this was our first stop and that we hadn't had anything to drink that morning. To this, he responded with "Oh, well then, you better get your pictures here before you start drinking and blackout!" We didn't engage after this and were taken to be seated. They split our group of 8 in two and told us that this was because their winery was so small that they couldn't accommodate bigger groups. We were fine with this, but it would have been nice to know that they would split us up when we originally made the reservation over a month beforehand. As we finished our tasting, I asked if I could try one of the wines one more time - as I was contemplating buying some bottles. I was told that this wasn't possible. I've never had this happen before at any other wineries I've visited. We had some time to kill and we had called earlier and asked if we could spend our free time in their grassy area, to which they said yes. While we were there, we saw many other customers doing this, as well. When my table finished our tasting, we asked if we could buy a bottle of wine to enjoy in their grassy area and we were told that they'd have to check to see if this was allowed. They begrudgingly let us buy our bottle and told us that our table could stay at the table if we wanted, but that the other part of our party couldn't since another reservation was coming. We were perfectly ok with this, as we wanted to be in the outside space. Our other table ended up buying a bottle to enjoy there, as well. The final bill was never brought to our table or to us while we were enjoying the scenery. When a member of the other table went to pay, they were rudely told "I hope your other friends are planning to pay here too". Once I heard this, I went up to their makeshift checkout table to pay, but nobody was there. For 15 minutes, I just stood by the table with my credit card out, while employees just walked by and looked at me but didn't say anything at least 6-7 times. I finally had to stop someone and ask if they could bring someone over for me to pay. After I paid, we still had about 45 minutes left, so we were hoping to buy 1 more bottle of wine to split between all 8 of us. Another member of the group went up to go purchase one and was told that they wouldn't sell us another bottle of wine because we'd already consumed too much wine on the premises. To make up for this, they could offer each of us 1 more taste. Within the next few minutes, a small group of us went up to get this "1 more taste" and were told that they'd have to check to see if this was ok. I'm pretty stumped here - I go wine tasting all over the state, typically 4-6 times a year, and have never been treated like this. I've never seen a winery refuse to sell wine and have to check to see if another taste could be poured. Based on other reviews, it seems like this experience was isolated to us, so I'm wondering if they pre-judged us based on age. Either way, I would not come back here as it wasn't a pleasant experience. read more
One of the better wine & food pairing experiences in Paso Robles. The service was very good and the views atop the winery were beautiful. The wines were a hit or miss with me but the food that accompanied the wine was very good. The staff was very friendly and took their time explaining each wine too us. read more
Fabulous Lunch! Got our 1 pm lunch reservation. A friendly Jeremy greeted us, a nice welcome form our visit last year when he served us. We enjoyed the view while we waited for our table. Upon our seating, we were embraced by the warm tones of the banquet room. On the table were 12 glasses and 2 plates of little bites. We has Chenin Blanc, Malbec, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and wonderful service from Max. Max was knowledgeable about wines at Le Cuvier, and she shared his experiences as a wine maker. Soon after we finished our wine tastings, then lunch began. We got ground rib eye sliders with potatoes and melted smoked gouda cheese and topped with crunchy prosciutto. Lunch and wine were wonderful. Max was great. We'll definitely come back. read more

This special boutique-style winery is slightly off the well-beaten path, up a winding driveway and perched on its own hilltop, with a magnificent view of the valley below. The beautiful tasting room is often busy but if you can, have David pour for you. He possesses an encyclopedia-like knowledge of all things related to soil composition, micro-climates, grapes, skins, varietals, harvest, and the nuances of wine-making, aging, and sustainability practices. Just ask and ye shall be insightfully and humorously educated, while sipping and enjoying the deliciously-thoughtful food pairings. Becoming a member of their Elliptical Society was one of our easier decisions, especially with wines as delectable, yet distinctively different, as the mysterious Malbec (when available), heady Litterol, beautifully-hued Grenache, and delicately artful Petite Sirah. read more

This is one of those rare occasions that I give 5 stars and this place is sooo deserving of it. I couldn't get a reservation for Saturday but managed to get one for Sunday brunch. We opted for their lunch and pairing which included full lunch consisting of a beef tenderloin made to perfection. On arrival, we were greeted in the parking lot by a staff. They followed strict covid-19 guidelines and only allowed entrance at your designated reserved time. A table was set for us at the property's edge which had a wide view of the valley on which the property sat. All the accoutrements were well placed and set on the table. Our server, Robert, explained the details of the food and pairings while standing at a distance. Everything was as hoped for and more. Their wines paired very well with the food and even on its own. The wine that stood out the most to me was their 2017 Grenache. So impressed, we signed up for membership and will definitely be back to enjoy the quarterly changed food menu. If not the wine, the chef and his/her food creations are worth the experience. I highly recommend and will be returning often. Also, take advantage of their membership for it's value and offerings. read more

Excellent food pairings, wines were very good. Alex was an excellent host and gave us plenty of insight into the crafting of the different wines and the mechanics behind each food pairing. The scenery was fantastic, great views of wine country and set on a hillside. Shame we could not see the view from the tasting area, but there was a designated seating area close by. Overall experience was fantastic. The staff was cognizant to our needs, including providing water and a pallet clenser upon arrival. The wines were a bit pricey, but worth it given the quality and overall experience. Their GSM & Cab were the highlights for me. Would highly recommend, might consider a membership sometime soon. read more

This is a must stop if you're in Paso vino tasting! I can't believe I had not tried this place in the past, and I have been coming to Paso for years. The view is amazing and that's just the start. We were greeted right away by Alex who gave us a warm glass of tea to cleanse our palette. As far as I know, this is the only winery that cleanses your palette with warm tea. The vines are top notch especially when tasting their food pairing food. Their chef has done an amazing job perfecting the right food with the vino! We had the privilege of meeting the chef who was friendly and explained her passion for food. Our wine host- Yesi was amazing! She was friendly, knowledgeable and patient with us when we asked questions. She explained every pairing in great detail. I left buying two bottles and definitely returning! read more
Ok so I know I was supposed to come for the wine but guys, I am still dreaming about the full lunch/tapas style pairing I had there. The menu is created by the in-house chef Daniel and consists of five amuse-bouches pairings and a main. $45 for Lamb lollipops with browned butter sage mashed potatoes and golden beets plus the tastings and amuse bouches...woof. Honestly it was to die for and only on weekends right now so plan accordingly- side note, directed my little sister there after my great lunch there and she went on a week day in which they offered the five amuse-bouches with each tasting without the main entrée. When I went they were only taking reservations and had no walk-in availability so plan accordingly. The wine itself was so interesting. Especially the Chardonnay XLB. Also, just wanted to give a shoutout to the staff for their hard work in maintaining social distancing and keeping everyone safe. They even pre-pour right before you sit down and keep the tables very spaced. You will not find another experience like this on the central coast. First and foremost, the wine is incredible and the tasting room is lovely. The truly unique part of the experience though, is that every tasting is accompanied by the most delicious and complementary bite. This truly heightens the wine and adds such a fun twist to the experience. After you're done with your tasting, buy a bottle of wine and drink it while you relax in an Adirondack chair and enjoy the beautiful view. read more
Wow!! An absolute must for wine lovers in Paso! We love the unique experience with the food and wine pairings that they offer. We visited for our second time over the weekend, and it was a total hit amongst our group. The wine here is excellent! We love supporting a boutique winery. One person in our group fell in love, and joined their wine membership. The Malbec was my favorite - incredible! All of the food tastings were delicious, and we are grateful that they modified for a vegetarian in our group. Our server was FANTASTIC - I feel horrible that I cannot recall her name. She did share she has been with Le Cuvier for ten years, and her knowledge and passion for the wine showed. She made us feel like family! Again, an absolute MUST! The location is ideal if you are staying near downtown. And the view from the top is stunning! read more

Wow! What an amazing lunch/wine tasting experience. Wine tastings paired with amazing appetizer bites in a beautiful setting in Paso Robles. Truly an exceptional lunch experience. I left feeling physically and mentally fulfilled. Also this venue had the most robust wine descriptions I've seen which made the experience even more enjoyable. So glad we went and we will for sure be back! Be sure to look online or call ahead for a reservation. read more
Bottom line: I'm now a member lol We came on a suggestion from a coworker. Right now, they take reservations during COVID for all party sizes so we made one the day before online. I looked it up ahead of time and they pair food with wine. Both things I love. So I was instantly sold. Upon investigation I learn their wine is roughly $75 a bottle and was convinced I would not buy anything beyond the tasting. BUT the service was great, food great, and wine GREAT! Bill was fantastic and taught us about smelling the top middle and bottom of a glass which I had never heard with YEARS of wine tasting. There wasn't a wine I didn't like. And being the first stop today, you know it was good. Their version of a GSM was sooooooo good. Spent $400 and totally content with our purchases! Can't wait for covid to be over! Only suggestion would be to have some light music in the background. read more

I've been lucky enough to visit Paso Robles four times over the course of two years. On my fourth visit to Paso I visited Le Cuvier - it was on short notice as I had gotten a recommendation from former employee Robert (who now works at another tasting room) to go visit there and his girlfriend is the sous chef. Knowing very well how the Paso Robles wine industry is interconnected with one another, I took his recommendation, as going down the rabbit hole of connections always leads to another great discovery (and I also wanted an early lunch stop before a 5-hour drive back to San Diego). The owner is John Munch, formerly of Adelaida and the winemaker is Clay Selkirk of Cayucos Cellars. The concept of Le Cuvier stands out amongst other wineries in the sense that their focus is producing low-intervention wine (otherwise known as "natural wine"). According to their website, wild yeast fermentation is practiced exclusively, dry-farmed fruit is chosen whenever possible and each wine spends a minimum of 33 months in neutral oak. I'm normally not into low-intervention wine, so what attracted my friend and I to Le Cuvier is their lunch experience offered Friday to Monday from 10am to 4pm (last seating at 3pm). There are two options for lunch - the original wine & food pairing ($40 non-members), which is just a flight of 5 wines and small bites or the full lunch experience ($70 non-members), which also includes a more filling entree. The dishes are executed by chef Daniel Zollo. Initially we were only going to do the first option but since I wanted a more filling meal I requested the second option. The staff were able to fulfill this request. Here's what we had on 10/14/2021. There was a special menu specifically for harvest week. 1. Caramelized fennel on crostini (creme fraiche, dandelion greens, meyer lemon zest)/2017 Chrysos XLB. This was my favorite pairing as the flavors complemented one another. I also snagged a bottle of this for myself. Out of all the wines this also has the least amount of "barnyard funk" in the nose/palate (the signature characteristic of low-intervention wines and why I'm not particularly fond of it). 2. Duck rillettes, goat cheese & orange zest/2016 grenache. This was my favorite bite. Contrasting flavors at work here since grenache is quite fruity. 3. Twice baked purple potato (lavender-purple potato puree, bacon, arbequina oil, creme fraiche, coffee dusting, chives)/nv pentimento, '20 bottling. The wine's special in that this is a mishmash of the previous year's pentimento and whatever the winemaker wishes to put for the vintage. So whatever is in the bottle will always be a surprise. I normally don't like yams but add in some bacon bits and creme fraiche and it's actually pretty good. 4. Mushroom casino (cremini mushroom, white wine manchego-brie cream sauce, shallot, toasted bread crumbs, orange zest/2017 petite sirah. I like the multitude of textures here and how they play on each other from the soft mushroom to the toasted bread crumbs. 5. Beef kalbi (beef short ribs, sesame seeds, green onion, fermented white pepper)/2016 malbec. The beef kalbi is more like a jerky. The reds were good - compared to low-intervention wines I had in Europe there is certainly less of that barnyard funk in the nose/palate but it is still noticeable. If you eat the bites with the wines all the bites are earthy enough (all are either strongly flavored meats, fungi or root vegetable) to compete with wild yeast flavors. Lunch entree: braised lamb pappardelle (manchego cream sauce, toasted bread crumbs, arbequina, parmigiano reggiano & basil served with roasted asparagus/2017 petite sirah. I love flat pasta in general and this was enough to soak in the flavors of the lamb and the cream. Very rich and filling dish to pair with the petite sirah. I had a wonderful experience here; this is one of the rare examples of low-intervention wine that I can actually drink! And the wine/food pairing is what I consider my gold standard in Paso - food is excellent both in presentation and in taste. This is one of my most favorite Paso experiences and will highly recommend this place because the execution of the "food/wine pairing" is done correctly. Also helps that the cost for this is equivalent to eating at LPC/Il Cortile and cheaper than any of the splurgy "kitchen" chef's tables - this is my go-to budget splurge option in PR. read more
We would give this experience a 3.5 Great experience, value not worth it. Customer service was lacking. We had a wine and tasting pairing and an entree lunch. We had to request to move our seating as the wine tasting was interrupted by the the forklift harvest winery operations. We understand it is a working winery but the noise made for a not enjoyable moment. We couldn't even have a conversation it was so loud. The wait between the wine pairing and tastes was very delayed and the bites were cold by the time the explanation came by our server Alex. After finishing our pairing the salad for our lunch entree took 30 minutes to arrive. We had to ask for water twice before it was ever taken care of. The presentation and pairing of the wine and food was fabulous. The entree arrived and was delicious. The ambiance and view are a plus for sure. For almost a 200.00 lunch the customer service was definitely lacking. What should have easily been a 5 star experience was lessened by the lack of service. The hostess was a delight. We would probably come back but would ask for the patio seating for sure. read more

I have been going to Paso Robles for wine for 6 years, while there are many places that have great views and free wine tastings this is one of the few places that serves nothing but, high quality wine. Every pour was excellent plus, each tasting comes with a food pairing. They produce a limited amount of wine, which helps maintain the high quality of their product. I'm always happy to pay extra for excellent wine! As one of the youngest couples at the place, it did feel a little intimidating to do a wine tasting there. However, the staff was friendly and took good care of everyone equally. Best of all, they waive one tasting with the purchase of a bottle. We shared our tasting because I'm vegan and couldn't really enjoy the food but, the wine absolutely exceeded our expectations. What a unique experience. $20 tastings come with food pairings come up by their chef! Great views from atop a hill, good wines, friendly service. So glad that hubby and I decided to stop by on our way back to SF. They have an outdoor patio as well as a few outdoor chairs overlooking the beautiful scenery. Definitely a great place to come relax and drink wine. They had a dog bowl set up outside, so I assume they are also dog friendly. Bottles were on the pricier side ($72+), but the $20 tasting is totally worth a try, especially since they come with food pairings! We also really liked all the wines. Hubby usually doesn't like reds, so I was surprised when he didn't have me finish off the reds! If you're in Paso, make sure to stop by here and at least do one tasting and check out the view. You won't regret it. We will definitely be back next time! read more

This was such a fun experience! All the wine was wonderful on its own but it was super fun to be able to taste some amazing food along with it. The view from the waiting area was also gorgeous! We can't wait to come here again. read more

This winery is absolutely great. First off, this winery is easy to find. Super intimate, and David who helped us out was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My boyfriend and I had a great time, great laughs. I highly recommend Le Cuvier. All the wines have deep, rich, flavors and every single one had its character. We brought our dog all the way from LA, couldn't leave her home. She was allowed on the patio! I had such a great time. Leah was a friendly host and guided us well! The winding drive from Paso Robles to get here is beautiful, the view from the winery is spectacular. You will find yourself at an elevation of 2000 ft. gazing down at the gentle golden hills and green valleys that are also the home of historic San Miguel. This is assuredly a trip that starts off well and only gets better. Their wines are exquisite. For an occasional drinker like me, that statement is truly a rarity. This winery has found my Achilles heel. Their's is a small family operation with limited cases of pure California nectar. When they're gone, they are gone. The wines are NOT inexpensive, ranging around $40-50 ea., but it is the taste that puts them in a class all their own. Fine jewels. Love those flowery wine notes. But the club price is about 20 % less. So we promptly joined their wine club and brought home two each, all 2010 vintage, of the Cab Franc (available to members only due to only 150 cases available), Cab Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and L'Enfant du Pape without a second thought. Because we did buy, our tasting fee was waived. But based on what I now know, I would not hesitate to pay regardless. $10 for tasting, add $5 for the food pairings. Well worth it, it was a memorable treat. I loved their chef, Cheryl Kiest, who cheerfully waved at me through a large picture window from her professional kitchen. She then came out to chat for quite some time. She is a delightful, creative lady with an captivating background, 37 years of teaching high school English Lit and composition, with enthusiastic dabblings in music and theater as well. Chefdom is her third career and one for which she is well suited. The rosemary cheese thumbprint cookie topped with a fig blueberry chutney was so good I had to restrain myself from grabbing the entire platter. It was paired with the Cab Franc which just happened to be my favorite wine. The good news for me, and you too, is her recipes are on their website. Ahhhh. I may not know wine as well as some, but apparently I seem to have expensive tastes. This is an enthusiastic recommendation to come and enjoy the full experience. P.S. And while you are up there, the next stop is Adalaida Winery. Leave plenty of time to add this to your plans for the day. read more

On Sunday, my girlfriend and I experienced one of the best wine pairings we have ever had. The atmosphere, the food, the wine, the service and views made this a wonderful opportunity. The short rib lunch with the wine was worth every penny... we will do this again! read more

We were a little unlucky on the weather on the day we decided to go here but it was still a great experience! We did a super yummy wine & food pairing. It was the perfect amount of food for a very light lunch and it paired really great with the wines. The wines are a bit more expensive here than at the other wineries we went to that day ($80 a bottle) but they are definitely worth it! Something I loved & that was different from other wineries I had been to was they gave us a lemon tea to start as a way to cleanse our palate! I thought this was different & unique! read more
