Outstanding winery with excellent wines! Their estate is huge and tasting room is gorgeous -- modern but still has elements from its own history. All the wines that they had on their tasting menu were fantastic. I really enjoyed the Ingenuity blend that was Syrah forward. We also got the Charcuterie platter as well that had a good selection of cheeses and a unique mushroom pate. Service was friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine and history!

Epoch is EPIC! The location is not very close to other Paso wineries but the drive is so worth it! You also have to pay for your tastings ahead of time but again, SO worth it. We were in awe of the grounds immediately. The view of their vineyards is gorgeous! Great photo opps outside of the estate house. We were a large group of 8 and we all felt taken care of. Our tastings were pre-poured and not a glass or menu was out of place. Plus, they printed my name on the menu!! So cute!! It's the little things. Our sommelier Brenden was friendly and engaging. Our group shared two charcuterie plates. They are a little small for the price but tasty nonetheless. Their wines are delicious. We especially enjoyed their rose and the veracity. They waive some tastings with purchase of a few bottles. 10/10 recommend!

Our host Brendan was amazing, the venue was spacious and well kept, but the wines fell short, especially after tasting ones at TOP winery. These seem more light bodied and have very short finish, not much of a nose either. All the wines on the tasting flight were pre-poured by the time we arrived, but since we sat out the wines got quite warm. Good place for groups and pictures.

We are in love with this place! I was a bit skeptical booking because it's prepaid... that means no room for error, especially with a group of 6. But if you're seriously looking for good wines, good service, and good views, this is the place! We came right at opening with prepaid reservations. The grounds are beautiful! Looks super relaxing and picturesque. We tasted indoors, the facility was beautiful. They had the wines out and our server came and spoke about each one. We went at our own pace, he came around to check in and answer any questions. He even let us taste 2017 authenticity. I saw the zin (not on tasting menu) and he let us try it. It was super delicious too, so we got 2 bottles of it, along with the estate blend and the authenticity. We are considering becoming wine club members here just for the relaxing atmosphere. Definitely not bougie like DAOU. The people here are real and it's family own and they don't act like snobs! Super down to earth. Next time we're coming back as our last winery so we can taste and just relax on the chairs overlooking the landscape.

Had such an amazing time here. Straight off the arrival, property is gorgeous. A hidden gem tucked into the hills. The tasting room is both modern and rustic, blending everything together. Loved every wine. The standouts were the Syrah, rose and a very very delightful Zinfandel. Our educator, Braden, truly made the tasting memorable and enjoyable, from great storytelling, to great suggestion, to juggling 9 wine glasses on wine hand and taking photos with the other for guests. Can't recommend this place high enough. Thank you for hosting us. P.s they're extremely dog friendly

The location is a little remote but worth it. The building Ali's a restored barn with amazing architecture. The service was laid back but professional. I enjoyed our wine sommelier. He was knowledgeable of the area, soils and of course the wine. Highly recommend for your wine tasting!

I've been a member of Epoch for a few years now but never really had the chance to visit--work and youth sports usually keep me busy (if you know, you know). We finally made it up and were able to grab a reservation. They do get busy, but they're flexible with club members, which I appreciated. When we arrived, the grounds were beautiful--calm, peaceful, and really tranquil. I did mess up by not requesting the Library Collection, though! Fun fact: they pre-pour your tasting and even have a personalized card with your name on it waiting for you. That said, when I asked to switch the tasting to something else, the associate didn't even hesitate. I felt bad because everything was already set up, but they made it so easy. The experience at Epoch was awesome. The associate helping us was incredibly knowledgeable and had a deep background in winemaking, which made everything even more enjoyable. I also loved their pouring style. It's relaxed--they tell you about the wine, then let you roam the property, take pictures, enjoy your glass, and come back when you're ready for the next pour. Super chill and well done.

Definitely a memorable experience. As our party of 6 was waking up we were greeted by Scott with Rosés. He then escorted us to our own table with four glasses and an explanation of the wines. He explained about the winery, the wines and the history of the gorgeous tasting room. He was very good with how interacted with us, gave us time to ourselves, and offered tastings of wines available at the time. Beautiful outdoor area where you can have a picnic. They are a small producer of 7-8 thousand cases a year and grow all own grapes.

Honestly, you really haven't experienced wine, until you taste the red blends from Saxum. Like a fiend, I went straight for the waiting list only to find the wait is at least 4 years. I was patient, and unlike many, able to get an occasional bottle from my friend. They emailed me once a year to remind me to be patient, and mid 2025 I got my invite. I felt like I won the lottery. I was able to get a 23 G2 Vineyard and a 22 Rocket Block. I also have a 19 James Berry in reserve, but the problem is, I almost don't want to drink them. I feel like I would be consuming art. Ultimately, they are of course meant to be enjoyed and consumed. When you get a shipment, it comes with very thorough tasting notes and suggestions on drinking. I was able to buy two and select a wish list as well. Saxum is not exclusive for exclusive sake. It is exclusive because it is a small winery that can only produce so many barrels. You are limited in what you can purchase because they want to share their wines with as many people as possible. The wish list is only if they have enough left over. Saxum could seriously charge double or triple what they charge, but they don't. I think this says a lot about what they are as a winery and who they are as people. If you can get a hold of a bottle, you will look at wine differently. Four year waiting was worth it- all good things are.

Every vineyard wine has been an amazing surprise. We still love the James Berry vineyard best but Broken Stones and Hexe were incredible too. I have no doubt this vineyard is quickly becoming the Screaming Eagle and Opus One of Paso Robles. These wines consistently grade in the 98-100 range and you can taste why. It's been a real treat. I highly recommend it.

That ended after my most recent visit…read more I brought seven family members to the winery, excited to introduce them to wines I'd enjoyed as a member. When we arrived, I learned that groups of seven or more get charged an extra $10 per person--a $70 fee that essentially wiped out my complimentary member tastings. Six people? No charge. Seven? That'll be $70. What?! For literally ZERO increase in service or experience. They're walking around a table, pouring a thimble of wine in a glass...that one extra person apparently necessitates a $70 fee. Here's the kicker: we were the only people in the tasting room for the entire two hours we were there. No crowd to manage, no strain on resources. And our group bought nine bottles of wine. The "thank you" for bringing in new customers and making purchases was a surprise $70 surcharge. I emailed to cancel my membership, thinking someone might reach out to try to keep a five-year member. Instead, I got a polite apology and a cancellation confirmation--from the GM and Winemaker, no less. No offer to waive the fee, no credit, nothing. They let a long-time member walk over $70. I noticed another Yelp review complaining about this exact same policy. So it's not just me--and apparently that feedback hasn't prompted any change. That says a lot. In a region overflowing with great wineries that actually value their members, I can't recommend this one. Policies like this, combined with zero effort to retain loyal customers, tell you everything you need to know about how they view the people who support them.

We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.
