Our friends belong to this winery and we joined them for the weekend, glamping at 1 of the 4 RV spots on the winery. Really nice sites with full hook-ups, table and fire ring. Found all the wines very drinkable and felt they could be easily paired with many food options. The grounds were beautiful with a nice indoor and outdoor tasting areas. My husband and I were headed to Morro Bay for a few days and decided to go off the beaten path to find a winery in Templeton to stop at along the way. I said "just drive" and we happened to stumble upon Jack Creek Cellars. Man am I glad we did! Stella, the wine dog, greeted us as we pulled in and literally walked us to the tasting room - a dog after my own heart! We were greeted by the owners John and Shelly, who made us feel welcomed and at home. We did our tasting inside the tasting room, which is on the smaller side but warm and welcoming. They have a nice sized patio that can fit larger crowds or groups with ease. The tasting room directly overlooks their vineyards, beautiful property. We each did a tasting, and left with a bottle of Chard, Syrah and Grenache, but their Pinots were so light and tasty! I didn't taste a wine that I didn't like, although my husband wasn't a huge fan of the White Pinot Noir (yes, you read that right). We enjoyed time talking with the owners who have a background in dairy farming and moved here from Tulare, close to our hometown. Very knowledgeable, friendly and really just made us feel at ease. Would definitely come back to say hello to John and Shelly again, and enjoy some of their delicious wines. Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I are from WA and this was our first trip to Paso for our Anniversary. As I work in the wine industry in WA I was very excited to get to know Central CA Pinot Noirs. We had been to several and had some good, some ok, bought a bottle here and there, but when we arrived at Jack Creek everything changed! John, the owner and winemaker was "filling in" that day and we got to really dive in to wine. For me it was perfect, getting to really discuss the varietals, the process, terroirs, farming and weather. And my husband and John really hit it off. Oh, the wine...The wine was Delicious!! We loved it so much we bought a case. Did I mention we live in WA? Had to figure out how to get THAT on the plane. But, John, and mostly his daughter Kelsey took care of that for us too. Easy Peasy. Jack Creek Cellars was our third and final stop on a full day of tastings put together by Toast Tours. We were worried that by our 3rd stop we'd be "wined-out" and unable to really enjoy it, but Jack Creek proved us wrong. It was our favorite wines of the day! Shelley and John (owners) were hosting and pouring. We really enjoyed getting to hear some of their life story while we tasted. Very laid back, relaxed atmosphere. The last time we visited Jack Creek Cellars was approximately 10 years ago, so we decided to stop by for the sake of nostalgia, not knowing it had changed ownership. Wow, what a treat!!! Shelly (owner) was serving a large group, so we got stuck with John (owner/winemaker) - Just Kidding - he was amazing. John sat down with us and did a deep dive into the history of the winery and how he made their wines. The Chardonnay aged in concrete and the one aged in Oak were both delicious. But, then we got to the Pinot Noirs. The Estate, the Hillside Reserve and the "Exodus" were absolutely phenomenal. We closed with the Syrah, and it, too, was so good. Thanks, John, for spending time with us and for sharing your wines with us. We will be back. read more

Not even all that sure about the wine. Our review is strictly based on their customer service. Our 4 month old puppy was bite under his eye by their dog and nobody so much as apologized. Our server asked us, would you like to pay for your flights or are you buying some bottles, that was the extent of it. Husband, wife, and daughter were all present and not one of the family members acknowledged that our puppy was bleeding from his face the entire time we were there. Very good service here at Jack Creek Sellers. I wish I could remember the name of the gal that was attending us. She was excellent. It was a cold day so no seating out side with heaters but inside was OK. I think we stood most of the time at the bar And all the wines here were good. I don't think I tasted a stinker in the bunch I would like to return when I can sit outdoors and take in the ambience outside in the vineyards. Let me begin by saying that you are just surrounded by vines and it was beautiful! They are pet friendly and they do have a winery dog as well that will come greet you. I am not usually a pinot fan but did really enjoy theirs, that hillside pinot is now my favorite pinot! Absolutely my new paso favorite! We got lost and ended up passing by the winery-and thought that we should at least check it out. So happy we did!! I am not at all a Chardonnay person- the only Chardonnay I like okay is by hanzell. That changed with Jack Creek. The Chardonnay was amazing-super crisp and had an amazing finish. I can't get enough of both Chardonnay they offer! Also they have sparkling wine!! I could go on for days about how awesome everything is-but you should really go check it out yourself! I have long loved Jack Creek wines; I'm a lover of Pinot Noir. Whenever we vacation in the area, we try to taste at Jack Creek. They were closed for a while due to statewide COVID restrictions. I was thrilled that they are now accepting tasting reservations. I had a reservation at noon at Windward Winery from which I bought a case of Pinot. They took 15% off of the case purchase, as I had expected. My reservation at Jack Creek was at 2:00 but we finished up early at Windward. I called JC from the car. Kelsey answered and said "Yes," she could accommodate us. We arrived an hour early for our tasting and learned that ownership of the winery has changed. We were greeted by a friendly, mellow dog who allowed me to pet her a couple of times. Kelsey took us outside for tasting and was very knowledgeable. We liked each and every wine that we tasted so put together a mixed case. When she told me the total -- well over $600 -- I asked how that was possible. I had assumed that there would be at least a 10% discount on a case, perhaps 15% or even 20%. Nope. No case discount at all. In the past, I have refused to purchase a case of wine when the winery doesn't provide a case discount because most wineries do. What makes any one winery think they shouldn't do the same? I started to cut back the order to a few bottles, four maybe, but my husband insisted that we buy the case (and a ball cap to cover his bald pate. It was quite sunny) We are celebrating our 30th and 31st wedding anniversaries (thank you, COVID, for interfering in last year's celebration) and his thinking is that we deserve it. I relented but I will not make the same mistake twice. I've already booked two hotel rooms for this coming June when I'll be in the area for five days. The wines, as well as Kelsey's knowledge, are five star. But I give one-star to a winery that doesn't provide a case discount. Case discounts are customary. Windward gave us a 15% discount on the mixed case; yesterday, we received the same discount (or was it 10%?) on a mixed case at Hearst Ranch Winery. Case discounts are customary. I won't buy a case from JC again if they won't offer the discount. I'll be back in June and my husband won't be with me; he's the one who relented. Anyhow, five stars for the wines and Kelsey; one star to the winery that doesn't offer a case discount. Therefore, the three-star score is an average. read more

We were recommended to come here from our airbnb host and it did not disappoint. The vineyard was gorgeous with amazing views. That weekend it was extremely hot, but because it was on a top of a hill, the wind was pretty cooling. We had two tastings and ended up buying a few bottles (4, I believe). Which is a great deal bec they comp a tasting for every two bottles! They even have a great yelp deal for bogo on tasting. The staff was also super friendly and gave us a ton of recommendations. Great place! The space is great and large overlooking the grapevines. My husband and I stopped by in the afternoon and were happily greeted. The tasting was educational and very enjoyable. The individual helping us was extremely knowledgeable on all their wines, from the grapes to the process used the extract the wine to bottling. She was definitely passionate about her job. She made us feel welcomed and had great conversation over all. We ended up taking some wine home as gifts for friends and us (of course.) 10/10 would visit again and would encourage other to too! This winery is in the first year with their new owners and the family is totally wonderful. The wines are a little different than most I have tried on the 46 west, they a lot of pinot noir options. We went on cool afternoon and they had heat lamps to keep everyone warm. There are tables both inside and outside. I'm excited to see what happens with this place during the spring, there is a lot of room so I'm hoping to see some events. read more

Last November when we were there someone mentioned a pick up party in March. So we drove up yesterday for this with reservations at 5pm. They served a really enjoyable meal. I don't right off know what to call it. There was a kinda chicken salad in a croissant that was very tasty and a rice dish. They had names I don't recall as I write. Plus they had three ice creams for dessert. Two things struck me at this meeting. Firstly the wines. Just like before, several different wines that all were just wonderful. They are doing wine right. Second, we noticed just about everyone at the 5pm party knew quite a few of the other people there. My impression was a lot of local people, maybe some in the business. Maybe family. I really got a good feeling just being there around everyone. Lots of good people enjoying being together at a place they obviously enjoy. Good vibes count. My three girlfriends and I go to Paso every year for our annual trip. We try new wineries each year. This year we focused on wineries offering Pinot Noir. We went to 6 and Jack Creek was our favorite by far. Shelly and John, the owners, could not have been more welcoming and we had an exceptional tasting. Sat outside enjoying the views and Stella the winery dog hung out with us as well. Add this one to your list - it will not disappoint. Just got back from a few days of wine tasting in and around Paso Robles. The first stop of our trip was at Jack Creek Cellars in Templeton. It is rare that the first experience outshines the proceeding ones, but in this case it did. We enjoyed the drive into their lush fields and charmingly simple tasting property and were impressed with their staff and their processes. We rank them as the best out of all the vineyards we visited because the owner's authentic talent and love for the craft was simply evident in the wines. Now that we are home, my husband and I both agree that the Jack Creek Chardonnay is our favorite wine discovery of the entire trip. We want to join their wine club because they have a smallish production and this label is not available in our area. Highly recommended as worth the time and trip. read more

I thought the wine was okay. They had a 2010 Concrete Blonde Chardonnay that we bought and took to dinner. Unfortunately we bought it on a recommendation because they weren't pouring it. There was only one lady pouring, but two there and place needed someone else to help out. The tasting room was in the warehouse, but not bad but the bar was short and hard to fit people in.
