    Award Winning Wines

Our tour guide (Kim) at Capaldi Ranch recommended Penman Springs Vineyard, and we were so thankful to have followed her guidance. This winery is off the beaten path but is worth the drive. Their tasting room is family friendly and to our surprise, they offered puzzles and games to help entertain the kids! Food is not served here, but they welcome outside food. I'm not a wine enthusiast but participated in the tasting anyways and enjoyed every wine I sampled. I don't recall the name of the individual who greeted us but she was knowledgeable, accommodating and attentive. Overall it was a splendid wine tasting experience for our entire family!

I have heard a lot about this winery since one of my friends is obsessed with their merlot. It is definitely worth the drive out there especially if you are looking to support a small family owned winery. Tasting fee is only $10 but waved with a bottle purchase and the wines are extremely affordable. If its your birthday they do something extra special for you... I know from experience and you can probably guess from my pictures what it is..

One of our favorite wineries here in Paso Robles. Price and wine are both amazing. $10 tasting fee if you do not end up buying any bottles. 12 wines available to taste. The tasting portion is generous and they allow you to revisit any wines. We came here Thursday and had an appt for 1:30pm. It wasn't busy at all. We liked everything except for the first 2 reds: "Cuteness" and "Aglianico." Their most expensive bottle is $38 and cheapest is $20. We loved the Dry Humour muscat, Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah. We bought 3 wine to-go since wine and price were both good. But other wines are also great too. You can taste the wines in door or outdoor. But indoor felt more easier and faster. Noone wears mask anymore, except for us. We heard it was the female owner's bday so they had snacks out but when we got there only a fruit salad was left. Pat and Jennifer were friendly. Pat was definitely the entertainer here. Their membership is only 4 bottles of wine per year. 20% off wine purchase, free tasting for all guests of the member, 15% off cases, free member food, 1 free bottle of of wine for karaoke event. Won't break you bank and your taste buds will thank you. Looks like you can picnic here.

We had such a great experience at Penman Springs Winery! The wine was so tasty, the vibe was so cozy, and we finished the Christmas puzzle that was set on the table inside. Wonderful way to spend the afternoon!

Small boutique winery with amazing owners. Beth was so great and her wines were so good. I loved her collection of puzzles and creative gifts to shop. Will definitely be back next time in visiting from Hawaii!

Enjoyed tasting wines and learning about penman springs. Great rose, cabs and syrahs. Bought the rose, reserve cab which we enjoyed tasting with the cheese and fresh bread. Larry was very friendly and knowledgeable answering our questions about the wines.

This winery was delightful. The young girl who did our tasting made us feel welcome and relaxed. It felt like I was tasting wine from a family friend. The tasting room is nothing fancy or pretentious but the wines were great and the young lady serving us reminded me of the daughter I never had. We purchased a few bottles, loved the reds.

Wow! All the five star reviews were right--friendly people, gorgeous vineyard, very nice wine. They put out a food spread for Harvest Weekend that put all the other wineries to shame. I wasn't even very hungry when I arrived, but I couldn't stop eating the pulled pork sandwiches, the quiche and wonderful cheeses. I felt like I was back in France, which is one of my favorite places to visit. But it's a lot easier to go to Paso Robles. I will definitely make returning to this wonderful place a priority the next time I drive from L.A. to S.F.

It's 16,000 square feet of underground tunnels. As one of the few spots offering complimentary tastings to our complete surprise! This winery is a hidden gem. We loved the selection so much we had to pick up a few bottles for home! Overall Great wines, beautiful views & amazing service! Definitely going back!

Let me preface this with this - I rarely write reviews, and never have had to write a bad one…read moresadly. I believe sometimes companies have off days, and employees may have a bad day, which can affect one's experience, thus I dont let one bad experience ruin a company's review. But when it comes to my CHILD, you best believe i will never forgive and forget or let our experience be forgotten. We visited this winery expecting a relaxing, family-friendly experience and instead left with our daughter crying after being scratched in the face near her eye by the owner's off-leash dog. What makes this especially frustrating is that the winery's own rules state dogs must be leashed, yet the owners' dogs were roaming the property freely. Our daughter was calmly petting one of the dogs with me standing directly beside her when the dog suddenly growled and scratched her across the face. This was completely unprovoked and witnessed by the owner himself, who said absolutely nothing afterward. No apology, no concern, no accountability. An employee later approached us and said, "Sorry, he's old and maybe didn't like that she was the same height as him, which made him react".....which felt less like accountability and more like an absurd attempt to excuse why a reactive dog was allowed to roam off leash around guests and children. We also observed the dogs behaving territorially toward other leashed dogs on the property, making it even more inappropriate that they were allowed off leash in a public setting. My father-in-law is a VERY well known, well respected, and prominent winemaker in Virginia and across the United States, if you know anything about wine, you know him. So lets say, we understand winery culture and hospitality, fairly well. Had something like this happened on his property, it would have been handled immediately and professionally with genuine concern for the injured guest.....especially a child. Watching the owner casually continue on in his conversation with whomever, and pet the dog like nothing happened while our daughter screamed and cried was honestly unbelievable. In my opinion, not worth the visit for the subpar wine, if you want to take your children/dog somewhere. The poodles were friendly to me, and other adults, until we saw their behavior to other dogs & then my child....The complete lack of concern from ownership after a child was injured was shocking. Frankly, they are fortunate we chose not to escalate the situation further. Parents should absolutely be cautious visiting here with children or pets. An off-leash dog with territorial behavior has no place interacting freely with guests. Absolutely shocked and the owner should be ashamed of his actions & response (or lack there of) to the situation.

Yeah, I didn't believe it either, but then I saw a sign in their vineyard that proved me wrong. It read: "Water into Wine" And now, I'm a believer! So what brought us to this magical place you ask?? Well, besides the obvious (the wine).... It was the.... ok you caught me!! We came for the wine! Yeah, we were staying at the Ava Hotel in Paso for my wife's birthday weekend (definitely check this place out if you are looking for a beautiful spot to call home away from home) And being that we were in wine country.... We wanted a nice outdoor vineyard where our kids could be outside, run around, and get all of their energy out all while Mommy & Daddy had our own little R&R time sippin' on the good stuff. And let me tell you, it was Good Stuff! When we first arrived at Sculpterra, we already knew the place was going to be a hit as the parking lot was hoppin. And apparently we weren't the only ones that got the memo that this place was THE PLACE to be as it was just a little bit off the beaten trail from where we started out... Approximately 6 miles from "Downtown Paso" (through the city limits, down the 'ol country back roads and suddenly we were in wine country!) Prior to heading to the vineyard, we did a quick pit stop at McDonalds for the kids so they had something they liked. As for me and my wife, we opted to get some of the local fare items offered on site, cause what goes better with wine than a yummy charcuterie board? I'll answer that momentarily! But wait, theres more!!!! Upon finding a nice little table outdoors to sit and relax with our wine chilled in a bucket of ice, there was suddenly music to our ears and Love to my eyes! Yes, there was lovely Live Music being played by a band and out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a food truck serving Mexican Food from a local Mexican restaurant. Remember earlier when I said what goes better with wine than a charcuterie board? Well, if you guessed a little Mexican Food, then you are oh so right, but only in moderation! So in order not to ruin the good vibes of the beautiful vino from Sculpterra, I opted for just one taco and a cup of their poblano soup and man was it fire. The soup was piping hot and it had a kick of spice that made me spice from ear to ear. As far as the wine, the vineyards vibe and the entire aesthetic of the grounds, Sculpterra Winery & Sculpture Gardens (the vineyard was adorned with many abstract and contemporary pieces that are all photo worthy), this place checks all the boxes. The place is kid friendly as there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, with areas for the kids to throw a ball, run around, or even learn to play a g as a game of chess. A decent variety of Reds, Whites, & Blends are all up for grabs, so if you find yourself in Paso Robles with the fam or its just you and your hunny, definitely come check this place out and watch the miracle of them turning water into wine!
