    Wine tasting.

A truly delightful experience! Friendly, down-to-earth staff made us feel right at home. The wines were fantastic--versatile enough to complement a meal yet bold enough to shine on their own. Highly recommend stopping by!

driving home from big sur, we decided to stop by a winery for a tasting and found Steinbeck that had really good reviews. thankfully we didn't need a reservation. the gentleman helping us with the tasting was very friendly, super personable - we bonded over our love for the Dodgers lol. he took the time to introduce each wine and explain the history of the family and the winery. small place but beautiful space; had a lot of character. great wine! i enjoyed every single one on their tasting list. also love that they're dog friendly. they have the cutest two dogs roaming around. would definitely come back!

Tasting bar area. They are dog friendly (on leash)

Cindy, the owner, is super sweet and personable as are her employees. Love winery that is responsible-human dog friendly. In our two visits here we've had personal attention that is just the right amount without being invasive. They have a wide range from.bubbkes to sauv blanc to various reds. It's worth a drive on a bit of a off the beaten path road. While we didn't order ahead (that I recall maybe we did on tock?), there were cheese plates available for purchase which was perfect for us that day.

Visited on 11/10/24 We definitely lucked out picking this vineyard over the more trendy ones in the area. Great customer service, wines, and overall experience. I could have seriously stayed in the patio for another hour with my wife. The place was so calm and tranquil. My wife is a fan of wine but she's no aficionado and neither am I. That said, they give you just the right amount of info on each tasting and let you drink or chat about the wine depending on your preference. We left with two bottles. Glad we found this spot.

I must say I really enjoyed my visit to Steinbeck Vineyards & Winery. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The wines were great--especially the reds. The tasting room had a nice atmosphere, and it was a relaxing place to spend an afternoon. The outside patio is a must for testing wine and relaxing.I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Paso Robles who loves good wine.

My friends and I had a wonderful time visiting Steinbeck Vineyards. We started with a tour of the vineyard with the owner, Cindy Steinbeck, in her Jeep. A truly memorable experience. Then onto wine tasting. All the wines were delicious but the Crash is a definite buy.

We travel to Paso every three months and like to explore every vineyard here, so we decided to come l. They where so welcoming and attentive. To our surprise they where having bbq. We taste their sparkling wine and their reds. Our favorite was the sparkling, soft and crisp. The style ranch was country and cozy, with nice views and open sitting. We had a good quiet time to relax in the company of my husband... cheers

$20 tasting for 5 wines. Very stingy on the tasting pours. We had 1:30pm Friday reservations. Place is very quiet. They have like 2-3 winery dogs. We could barely taste each wine. They were ok, but nothing really stood out to us. They will let you revisit wines but we decided not to since we weren't going to buy any wines. They have outdoor and indoor tasting. Even they do sell some cheese, charcuterie, olives, hummus, cupcake cookies, crackers/nuts. They allowed us to bring snacks of cheese/charcuterie/crackers to enjoy with our tasting. But we finished our tasting within 30 mins or so. One of the fastest times during a tasting since you take 2 sips and the tasting is gone. This place is a very small mom and pop winery. Only produce little barrels of each wine. The wine bottles range from $38-$60..Go check out Penman Springs/ Calcareous for a better time.

Ask the Community - Steinbeck Vineyards & Winery

    Booking reservations needed to visit?

The short answer is yes. Especially if you have a large party and plan to go later in the day. My wife and I showed up right when they opened and were able to get a tasting without a reservation.

Michael was extremely personable, friendly and knowledgeable. We loved having someone so knowledgeable to show us around so we didn't have to drive ourselves. We visited three different wineries and they were all unique and interesting with a variety of wines. We visited Thacher (6 tastings plus a bonus pour of cider), Whalebone Winery (9 pours - wow!) and McPrice Myers (5 pours plus a bonus). Plus lunch, which was included in the price (sandwich and potato salad and cookie)!!! Great scenery and a beautiful day to enjoy our tastings booth inside and outside each winery. We also learned so much from each person serving us too. Michael also went out of his way to point out local restaurants and favorite bars and speakeasies in the area along the way. Finally, we left a sweater on the van and Michael called us to let us know and he drove back to return it to us. We really appreciated his kindness and great customer service. We had a great time and would definitely book with Grapeline Wine Tours again. Thank you so much Michael for a lovely day!!!!

I believe sometimes companies have off days, and employees may have a bad day, which can affect one's experience, thus I dont let one bad experience ruin a company's review. But when it comes to my CHILD, you best believe i will never forgive and forget or let our experience be forgotten. We visited this winery expecting a relaxing, family-friendly experience and instead left with our daughter crying after being scratched in the face near her eye by the owner's off-leash dog. What makes this especially frustrating is that the winery's own rules state dogs must be leashed, yet the owners' dogs were roaming the property freely. Our daughter was calmly petting one of the dogs with me standing directly beside her when the dog suddenly growled and scratched her across the face. This was completely unprovoked and witnessed by the owner himself, who said absolutely nothing afterward. No apology, no concern, no accountability. An employee later approached us and said, "Sorry, he's old and maybe didn't like that she was the same height as him, which made him react".....which felt less like accountability and more like an absurd attempt to excuse why a reactive dog was allowed to roam off leash around guests and children. We also observed the dogs behaving territorially toward other leashed dogs on the property, making it even more inappropriate that they were allowed off leash in a public setting. My father-in-law is a VERY well known, well respected, and prominent winemaker in Virginia and across the United States, if you know anything about wine, you know him. So lets say, we understand winery culture and hospitality, fairly well. Had something like this happened on his property, it would have been handled immediately and professionally with genuine concern for the injured guest.....especially a child. Watching the owner casually continue on in his conversation with whomever, and pet the dog like nothing happened while our daughter screamed and cried was honestly unbelievable. In my opinion, not worth the visit for the subpar wine, if you want to take your children/dog somewhere. The poodles were friendly to me, and other adults, until we saw their behavior to other dogs & then my child....The complete lack of concern from ownership after a child was injured was shocking. Frankly, they are fortunate we chose not to escalate the situation further. Parents should absolutely be cautious visiting here with children or pets. An off-leash dog with territorial behavior has no place interacting freely with guests. Absolutely shocked and the owner should be ashamed of his actions & response (or lack there of) to the situation.
