We enjoyed our five-hour tour with Michael immensely. What a great way to experience Paso Robles - hearing stories, getting an overview of the area, learning about the various wineries, and enjoying great wine and views. Great value for the experience - plus, it was just the two of us with no one else joining us on the tour even though others could join, so it turned into a private experience for us! Michael was extremely personable, friendly and knowledgeable. We loved having someone so knowledgeable to show us around so we didn't have to drive ourselves. We visited three different wineries and they were all unique and interesting with a variety of wines. We visited Thacher (6 tastings plus a bonus pour of cider), Whalebone Winery (9 pours - wow!) and McPrice Myers (5 pours plus a bonus). Plus lunch, which was included in the price (sandwich and potato salad and cookie)!!! Great scenery and a beautiful day to enjoy our tastings booth inside and outside each winery. We also learned so much from each person serving us too. Michael also went out of his way to point out local restaurants and favorite bars and speakeasies in the area along the way. Finally, we left a sweater on the van and Michael called us to let us know and he drove back to return it to us. We really appreciated his kindness and great customer service. The "Grapes and Grains Signature Edition" tour was the best wine tour I've ever taken. It was wonderful to be able to meet Janelle Dusi and her family at J Dusi and taste their wine in various stages from grape juice to fermented juice to finished wine; I really enjoyed the family stories, too. Having munchies along with the wine was an EXCELLENT idea. At Opolo, I really liked the scenic views, the explanation of their history, and the mix of distillery and winery tastings. The lunch was very good and, unsurprisingly, complemented the wine perfectly. The 1122 speakeasy in Paso Robles was a great finish to the day. The Blackberry Bramble was delicious (I wish I'd gotten the recipe), and the atmosphere was intriguing. The staff at all three locations were very helpful and friendly, too. Rod was our driver, and he kept us entertained on the drives with facts, stories, and even a few dad jokes. I happened to sit near Cary at lunch and enjoyed talking with him, too. Michelle and Krystal kept things lively, too, and were busy taking photos which they shared with us. I also enjoyed talking with all of the other guests on the tour - everyone was there to have a good time and relax, and no one overindulged. Actually, out of a 5.0 grade, I'd go about 3.8.. It was fine, but nothing special. The driver was alright, nice enough... but not the type that really exuded fun!! The 3 wineries we visited were about a C+ . My wife didn't really think any of the 3 we visited had very good wine overall. Again, wasn't a bad a day but don't feel the need to do it again. Went on tours in Napa and Santa Rosa that were much more fun w/ much better wineiries. read more

I've taken a few of these tours with pick up in Paso Robles. Service is always excellent! Our driver was named Rod, for this most recent trip in October 2024. We went to 3 wineries and lunch was included. Lunch consisted of a sandwich (you choose), a salad, water, and a cookie. Very good sandwich from a local deli. I always carry some snacks and a refillable water bottle as well. The wineries were lovely, as was the wine. The area was experiencing extreme heat! So after the first winery, it was difficult to sit outside. Too bad because the area during fall truly is beautiful and as much as you'd like to enjoy the outdoors, it was way too hot! We were sent a text about the extreme heat, and were told to dress appropriately. Great way to be able to drink (our fees were included) and not have to worry about driving. Bus was very comfortable and our driver, Rod, made sure we were ok, and able to enjoy the winery and kept us entertained with his stories about the area. Definitely recommend. read more

This was my second GrapeLine tour - the first one was in Temecula earlier in the month (loved it) and I was very pleased to learn that GrapeLine had a Paso Robles tour as well. Rod was our guide - he was as lovely as can be - funny, informative, and he made sure we had plenty of time at each of the three wineries. Our pick-up was in San Luis Obispo and the drive to Paso was relaxing and the scenery along the drive was stunning. Each winery was very different from the next, but all were beautiful, with an array of whites and reds for tastings. The lunch was tasty and filling as well. Transportation and driver were wonderful. All three wineries offered a variety of whites and reds. Rainy weather did not interfere with our tour. We were crowded and sat amoung barrels at the Jada venue and they only one toilet. Service was good and I see they are building a new tasting room with a nice view. Croad winery had great view and service. It was nice to visit these small wineries which we would not have done on our own. read more

Decided on a private tour and spoke with Michelle who was more than helpful. We had multiple discussions about what I liked and was interested in and what was definitely a no go. I forgot the name of our driver was but she was great! She was friendly, personable and provided great service to us! We got picked up on time and the ride was comfortable. She kept us on scheduled! Which can be hard if you're trying to herd a bunch of drunkies. Definitely use their service if you're planning to drink and just have fun! They have a variety of wineries included in the basic plan. We did a private car with 5 of us. It came with a box lunch from the Red Scooter in town. You eat it at the second winery. The wineries we chose were Bella Luna and Eberle and they picked Stillwater for us, because we weren't able to get Austin Hope. All went well and highly recommend if you don't want the stress of driving around wine country and drinking. read more

I'm giving this review two stars because it did seem like the staff was as genuinely kind and well intentioned, but the day was a mess. After a poorly communicated one hour delay, I was picked up in the tour guide's personal vehicle, taken along for errands (picking up food, getting gas), and then taken to the first winery where I had 20 minutes to try to catch up on the first wine tasting with the group that had arrived separately. Following that, it seemed the itinerary was not well planned, as the next wineries kept changing, and seemed like a last minute choice. I do believe they tried their best after a series of clerical and mechanical failures, but ultimately I paid for a guided wine tour and did not get that. At best, it could be described as a glorified Uber shuttle. They did end up covering tasting fees, but since I bought wine along the way, I wouldn't have had to pay full price for tasting anyway. I would not recommend them to a friend and would try a different tour operator on my next visit. Update: in response to John's comment, I just wanted to make very clear, I was NOT offered a $25 gift card. I was also NOT offered a custom wax dipping at Hammersky even though I bought wine there. I also did not arrive to the first winery on time, as I arrived when the rest of group was finishing their tasting. The only thing that is true was that the tasting fees were paid for by the tour and we were given a mini tour of Croad. The only contact the business had with me after the tour was an email asking for a review. read more

Wow!!! Not only was this wine tour the perfect experience to learn a bit about Paso Robles, and drink some fantastic wine but our driver Rod was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!!! Three of us girls, aged 70, lucked out with a van all to ourselves. Michael was out guide and he was so friendly and informative. We went to four wineries and had a delicious lunch. My only note would be that the tasting fees were not included, which we hadn't understood when we booked this. While this may be standard practice in this area, we have done wine tours in other areas where the fees are included. It made for a more expensive day than we had planned, so just make sure you budget that in. Most were $25 for a flight, so that's an additional $100 for the tour. If you buy wine they will usually comp the fee however. All in all the scenery was beautiful, the wine and lunch delicious, and we really enjoyed Michael. read more
