This was a great day of touring wineries. Sal DeMauro was a wonderful guide and provided an inciteful, informative view into the wine business in Paso Robles. We went to three very different wineries. Sculptura was in a beautiful valley with georgeous grounds. Our tasting was provided by Kat, the daughter of one of the artists and grew up on the property. At Loma Seca we had lunch provided by Sal with the owner Steve. And, at Kiamie we found a very laid back owner Greg with goats and Allman Brothers' music. I had the opportunity to do the jeep tours twice! Once in 2021 (with a friend) and another time in 2023 with more girl friends (for my 40th birthday). Justin was our driver both times. Both experiences were consistent and fantastic. The day started out by being picked up at our Air BnB. Then we picked up another group from a separate hotel. Not only was the tour unique in driving along the roads less traveled by standard wine tours, we got to visit smaller wineries that provided a more personalized and engaging experience. The lunch provided was delicious both times. Fresh ingredients and flavorful. While Justin generally has an idea of the wineries in mind at the beginning of the day, he is open to changes per request. I can't recommend this tour enough. We have used Central Coast Jeep Tours 3 times, and every time has been a great experience! Our first time we had Phil as our driver, and other two times we had Justin. Both are absolutely wonderful. Whether you book your own tastings or let them choose for you, it will be a positive experience. I recommend letting them pick a few wineries for you, they know the hidden gems. Sal is also very easy to work with. This last time we went, I was a little anxious because we had a large party and I was having difficulty making tasting reservations. We had a great time on the jeep tour with Sal! We loved that he picked and dropped us up straight from our airbnb. What was even better was that it was dog friendly and we were able to bring our pup. What a great day!!! Sal was a gracious host. He had our day planned but he customized his itinerary as he got to know us more. We got lucky that we were the only ones in the tour - so it felt like a private tour. This was our first time in Paso Robles and he provided an eclectic selection of wineries. He even added an olive oil tasting and brewery stop. He's a great conversationalist and knows the area well. He's knowledgeable about the wineries and the history of the town. This was anything but private and custom! We ended up going to the wineries he chose and not the ones I planned out. Furthermore, it was NOT PRIVATE!! There was another couple I was not expecting. I was hoping to visit 4-5 wineries but he said he only does 3. We spent wayyyy too much time at lunch at a ghetto winery and missed out big time on exploring the region. This was awesome! We got picked up in an orange Jeep by our driver, Richard and taken on a tour of four wineries that we would have never found on our own. At two of these, the actual owner served us the tasting. The lunches they provided with our package were great and Richard was an incredible guide. After the wine tasting, he took us to Pasolivo for olive oil tasting. Since they partner with (meaning these wineries don't charge tasting fees for this tour) 35 wineries, you could go on this tour multiple times and never go to the same place twice. He was so patient with us and even brought two of the girls back to retrieve their ideas from our house when they noticed they left it at home. We were so appreciative. After arriving in Atascadero and checking into the Carlton at about 10 PM, the front desk girl gave us a large stack of brochures. My new husband and I (on our honeymoon), immediately got excited to see the jeep tour. We were completely unfamiliar with the area and with wine tasting in general. I emailed Sal at about 10:30 hoping we could get in the next day (which was a Monday). He wrote me back within 15 minutes, and let me know he would make it happen because we were on our honeymoon. 10:30 AM on the dot Monday morning, he picked us up for an AMAZING day!!! Our tour today with Richard was our best decision in Paso Robles!! I cannot express enough what a great experience this was! My husband and I are only in town for 2.5 days (plans got changed around), and the owner Sal was so gracious to squeeze us in as a last minute tour. Richard came to our house (air bnb) for pick up and drop off. This is a great service since you'll be drinking so much during the day! The open aired jeep was really cool, and there's a locked case in the back to carry any wine purchases plus your lunch and bottled water. You get to pick your lunch from a menu of salads and sandwiches. ((Food tasted great!)) Richard knew which wineries to visit based on our personal tastes. We went to 4 different wineries, plus a unique olive oil tasting as a last stop on the tour. We both learned a lot and the employees were so friendly at every location! Richard was so nice to talk to and made us feel very comfortable, welcomed, and safe. The tour is super flexible and very informative without being stuffy. THIS IS THE BEST WINE TOUR EVER!!! My husband and I were on our honeymoon in California and we decided to spend our last day in Paso Robles because we loved it so much from the beginning of the trip. We did our own wine tasting the first time we were there and visited some tasting rooms downtown (Grizzly Republic was our favorite), and while we were vineyard hopping, we saw this orange jeep tour a few times and it piqued our interest, so we decided to finally try it out on our last day! It was very reasonably priced at $109pp, with lunch and tastings at 4 wineries included! If you do the math, a tasting at 4 vineyards for 2 will run you about $80 if you don't buy a bottle, and then a $30 lunch on top of that and you're there already! Add in not having to worry about driving yourself down winding roads in unfamiliar territory after a few glasses of wine and we were sold! But it was so much more than that. We were lucky enough to have the owner, Sal, take us on a private custom tour on a Monday afternoon (this is absolutely the best day to go because the wineries aren't as crowded). He was so personable and genuine and shared all of his knowledge about the history of the region with us along the way. He got a feel for what kind of wine we liked and what experience we wanted and then absolutely exceeded our expectations. He was gracious, unpretentious, and completely invested in our experience. He was very clear that we were under no pressure to buy any bottles of wine (even though we ended up getting 4) and made our comfort and delight his first priority. At the very end of the trip he took us to an amazing olive oil tasting completely off the map and we learned so much from Greg at Kiler Ridge and got a bottle of the lemon and thyme olive oil to bring home with us. Amazing! We're going to tell all of our friends about this little gem and wanted to share it with all of you too! Dear Sal, I can't tell you enough how much we enjoyed our jeep tour!! So friendly and entertaining :) We came in the during the week of the mid county fair 2015. The weather was a scorching 90+. It was my first time in wine country and I was with my friend who had gone before. So instead of driving around not knowing where to go, we found the jeep tour. It was perfect because we were able to go to some amazing wineries, 4 to be exact and an olive oil tasting which was the cherry on top! It was also a lot of sight seeing.
