    This Way That Way Wine

Villa Creek was our second winery we did in Paso Robles area. We made a reservation about a week before for 1:30pm. It was about a 20 minute drive from the downtown Paso Robles area. There's no food offered along with the wine tasting which I didn't mind at all and so we ate before. There isn't good cell phone service out there so definitely having directions down beforehand is key! When we got there you needed to put in a code for the gate to open and the parking lot is not really big but parking was easy. The tasting area had a couple small areas outside and a couple small areas inside. Camille greeted us and we were sat right away for our wine tasting. Wine tasting is $40 a person. We got to sit inside on a cute sofa surrounded by beautiful house plants. My two favorite wines were the 2020 Understory and the 2021 This Way That Way. We really appreciated Camille explaining all the wines to us and her knowledge about the winery and vineyard. Me and the hubby really liked the look of the wine labels and learned they were designed by Camilles mom! We loved the dogs on the property and even got to pet one of the dogs named Mirah who was friendly and playful. This was definitely a more intimate wine tasting experience and I really liked that. We really enjoyed our tasting and even bought a bottle of the This Way That Way to take home with us!

Quick Summary Decent wine, views and property. It's a smaller place. My major knock was the pacing (it felt like we were rushed throughout the whole tasting) Views- 4 stars Decent views of their vineyards. It's a smaller winery so it doesn't have the large picturesque vineyards Property- 4 stars Contemporary and clean. They do have an iberico ham hanging around that is covered with duck fat. Didn't get a chance to try it but sounded and looked amazing Tasting- 4 stars The wine was decent. Really liked their label with their last wine, but everything else was just ok. My main complaint was the pacing. We were basically on the last wine in 20 minutes. The winemaker was cool and interacted with all the guests. I get that they're trying to sell bottles and memberships, but it appeared like they didn't have any other appointments so wasn't sure why the tasting was rushed Bottom Line Decent winery experience. Probably a one-time thing. Wasn't very fond of the pacing

We arrived at Villa Creek with no reservation and were disappointed to find it closed. While in their driveway, trying to call, a car pulled in beside us and opened the gate, motioning for us to follow. Once in, we were greeted by Lindsay, our hostess, the wine club manager. She was knowledgeable, patient, and charming. She exuded her love for the environment and represented the ideals of the Villa Creek Winery with professionalism and precision. We left with three great bottles of wine and their best wine club membership. It was an afternoon well spent!

We had a tasting with Camille for our anniversary. The wine was amazing, the way she talked us through each tasting was incomparable. Views. Let's talk about it. Hills, dogs, a beautiful tasting room. Even the drive out was amazing. Couldn't recommend a better spot in paso to have a wine tasting.

We stopped here on our wine tour, and had a great experience! Camille was a great hostess, very knowledgeable about her family's wines and winery and was a great conversationalist as well. We signed up for a membership while here and walked out with some delicious wines. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Villa Creek has always been a favorite stop of ours. Stellar wines, friendly and knowledgeable staff, a cozy and welcoming tasting room, and adorable winery dogs. Camille and Lindsay were an absolute delight to chat with. They provided us with a plethora of fun trivia about the winery, the wines, and the property. They were also kind enough to call a neighboring tasting room to get us a reservation! As always we walked out with some delicious wines. We 1000% recommend putting Villa Creek at the top of your list of tasting rooms to visit when you come to Paso Robles.

I've been drinking Villa Creek's best since 2014, and few others compare. I've never met a family so lovingly invested in their craft and their product! A couple of our favorites are Avenger (any vintage, they're all wonderful), 3 (the 2018 vintage was that last one I've had since they sold out ) and Understory (see menu in pic). Also, the winery property is GORGEOUS. We love the "tucked in the hills" atmosphere and even took some newlywed photos in the vines also, if you're like us and don't like the rowdy wine bus crowds, they are by appointment only so it doesn't get as crowded or loud as other tasting spots! Camille is our favorite host (also our dog's favorite host) but we are always well taken care of by whoever we end up with! Even during the pandemic, we've felt comfortable and safe coming to visit. Can't wait until our next Paso weekend to come and restock!

This place has to be hands down the best winery in Paso Robles. It is WELL worth the $30-$50 tasting fee. Their wines are complex and amazing, with a focus on Rhone varietals and Rhone blends. Their staff and owners are welcoming, informative, and unpretentious. This visit we were hosted by Lindsay and Elise, both of which were friendly and knowledgeable. They provided detailed descriptions and backgrounds of each wine. We did the Flagship flight ($30 per person) and it featured 1 white and 4 reds. We were lucky enough to enjoy a fun side by side extra pour, comparing the 2019 and 2018 vintages of their 100% Grenache. It was so difficult to decide what bottles to take home, so we bought one of everything we tried! Villa Creek is a MUST stop when you come to Paso.

We booked the "wine tasting and lunch", which was a 90 minute experience on their patio ($40). When we arrived, we were greeted with the first wine on the tasting list, which was the Grenache (pretty good, different than what I normally go for). The patio had a nice view of the rolling hills and we could see goats running across them in the distance. The tasting consisted of 4 wines, and we also got a bonus pour. Our host was friendly and knowledgeable, and I really enjoyed the wine selection, especially the "Messer" red. We also ordered lunch, and both my Harvest Salad and Parmesan Fries were very tasty. The grounds were nice, but not quite as breathtaking as some of the other vineyards I've seen in the area. Overall though, a good experience!

Being able to enjoy some of their older vintages this way makes the experience even more special for wine enthusiasts.
