The place is very busy. We opted for a wine tasting with lunch. They offered 5 wines and proper tasting pours. When we were seated, water was quickly served and we ordered their House-made Sourdough Focaccia which was served with lavender butter and lavender salt. That was very tasty - the lavender butter and salt worked well with the bread. My wife ordered the Duck Confit and I ordered the Bucatini Pasta which featured Mighty Cap Mushrooms. The sauce was very rich and flavorful. The pasta was cooked properly, and the mushrooms were just so good. The Duck Confit was similar - the duck leg was cooked properly, and worked great with the Heirloom tomatos and plum, all of which sat on a wild rice salad. You can skip the wine tasting and order drinks or wine off the menu if you want. Take a moment to walk around the grounds, look up at the ceiling work. We chose this Winery because they offered food as well as wine. Upon arriving, we were pleasantly thankful to find free EV charging from their own solar source. They do not offer complimentary bread service. Bread is on the menu - House made sourdough focaccia with lavender butter. It was so good, totally worth the price. Slight crisp on the outside, spongy interior, but chewy from the sourdough gluten. Hint of sweet in the background. Butter is light and aromatic. This amazing dish is just the bread. Roasted Chicken was tender with a light sauce. Pasta with mushroom sounds simple but it was yummy and perfect. For wine tasting, they offered a complimentary welcome taste of Pino Rose, light and refreshing. The tasting had 4 wines, my favorite was the 2022 Reserve Chardonnay. It was buttery and smooth. Once we were seated, our server Hannah completely turned that first impression around. She was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome from the start. This winery is absolutely beautiful. It's definitely upscale but I didn't get a snooty vibe at all. I say that because another winery tried to discourage us from going saying they were snooty and rude. I didn't get that. The membership seems to be worth it if you live in the area. The wine and food aren't cheap here but I don't think it's overpriced for the experience and quality. The chef belongs in a top restaurant in NYC or LA. I can't believe the selection on the winter menu. Our party of 4 couldn't narrow it down so chose a lot of food. No complaints. I was told the Waldorf salad was underwhelming only because it came out after other dishes that were so much better. I couldn't try it since I'm allergic to nuts. It looked beautiful. The duck was cooked perfectly with a pink center. The black rice was amazing. I wish I knew how they seasoned it. The octopus was tender. I think it came with parsnip which was tasty. I could've licked the bowl of the mushroom risotto. It's that good. It's made with farro which is an interesting twist. The mushrooms were so meaty. Another highlight for the table was the fingerling potatoes with the onion dip. The potatoes were smashed and crispy. The onion dip was flavorful but too small of a container for our group! We were going to skip the sourdough focaccia but the server recommended it and I'm so glad she did. It was really light and airy. The orange blossom butter was a nude accompaniment. We also ordered the olives which are good but not necessary for all the food we ordered. And I almost forgot the side of goat cheese. I've never seen it as solid with crystallization. I can only imagine how good a charcuterie board would be here. I enjoyed all of the wines in the tasting except for the Chardonnay. That's not my favorite anyway. Niner is the best winery dining experience on the Central coast. For being so upscale, it's still refreshingly approachable and friendly. Our server, Dylan, was so warm, informative and made excellent suggestions for pairings. Food wise, Chef Brendan Collins is a rising culinary star. He knocked it out of the park with selections to delight even the most wary palates. Our favorites were the Duck Breast with parsnip, forbidden rice and blood orange paired with delicious Pinot noir, and the perfectly cooked Grilled Octopus with potato puree (+potato chips!) and pickled onion paired with Chardonnay. Niner is usually our first stop when we travel up to Paso. We have a tasting with our lunch. They make the best Focaccia! Great lunch with some great wines! We have lots of Niner wines at home and enjoy them! Fog Catcher is one of our favorites. We enjoyed our tastings and asked for additional ones that we planned to purchase. These wines are so good, they sell themselves. The areas for tasting are very nice and relaxing. We arrived early and started in the garden area (lots of veggies on the vines!) where found some relaxing seats while we waited for our reservations. Like most wineries, they greet you with a glass of wine, so we tasted while we enjoyed the scenery. The grounds and vineyards are beautiful from the winery but also from the road. It was a calm Monday afternoon. My partner and I had just spent 3 hours driving down towards LA before we stopped by this winery for a nice break before continuing our journey. We did the complimentary wine tasting as my aunt is a member, which was super fun. They provided 4 glasses of wine as well as a complimentary bubbly as we entered. Next came out our food. We had the charcuterie board to share which was fantastic and huge, before we also had some of their amazing focaccia with a whipped citrus butter. We later ordered some entrees to try out. Paso wines are my favorite region in California! We decided to check out Niner Wine Estates and it was fantastic! Our server was Jeremy, and he has so much character, personality, and knowledge, he really made our experience so enjoyable. The setting is beautiful; we were sat at a tall table that had views of a flower garden and the hills of vines. There were 3 of us and we each did the red wine tasting. I am not sure if they had another option. But we tasted about 8-10 wines! Jeremy was happy to grab us the bottles we were interested in trying. We really enjoyed the blend, I cannot quite remember the name I believe it was Club 39. This winery also serves food - the menu is creative with a variety of delicious items. We just ordered things to snack, the shishito peppers, fingerling potatoes, and marinated olives. The shishito's were our favorite, toppings similar to "Elote". I really liked the potatoes as well, crispy with a bit of a spicy bite to them. And the olives were a huge portion! We took the rest home to add to our charcuterie the next day! We had an incredible visit to Niner Winery in Paso Robles and loved everything about it. The location is spectacular--from the moment you arrive, the scenery is breathtaking. The iconic large heart you see when driving by is fun and memorable, and the restaurant building itself is stunning, blending beautifully into the landscape. The ambience is lovely--relaxed, elegant, and inviting. As for the wine, every pour was excellent. My personal favorite was the Ganache from the first tasting, and they also introduced us to a special Pinot Noir, which we were told is their number one best seller--and for good reason. I highly recommend the food pairing. We shared: * Focaccia bread with pumpkin pie butter -- absolutely amazing and delicious * Short ribs -- unlike anything I've ever experienced; truly a perfect dish * Fried potatoes -- simple, crispy, and incredibly satisfying All three dishes together were more than enough for two people, especially when paired with the wines. Every bite and sip complemented the next. This was a memorable, elevated wine-country experience, and I can't recommend it enough. I found this winery through an Instagram reel that popped up on my feed and just knew I had to pay them a visit! They are a pet friendly winery, engage in sustainable practices, and whip up some of the most impressive farm to table meals via their seasonal menus. This was our first stop to kick off a fun filled trip to Paso (10/24). Drove out with my friends of almost 30 years. We enjoyed some wonderful wines and lunch in their outdoor seating area overlooking the vineyard and legendary heart hill. Wonderful hospitality! The grand main entrance is where you check in and are escorted to your reserved table or walk ins can enjoy a tasting at the bar. With the patio area full of guests, service was excellent. The homemade sourdough focaccia had a perfect crust exterior, airy pillow with chewy bite. Served with olive oil but I also enjoyed with with some of the charcuterie Parmesan spread. The rigatoni was a hearty choice though I thoroughly enjoyed it I would maybe reconsider the corn. Sweet, tender and perfectly cooked short rib was a succulent bite paired with smashed yellow and purple potatoes a substantial serving. The chicken had the most golden skin that was rendered flawlessly. The flight of wines were delightful it was a toss up with the 2021 Malbec. The bottle we chose was the 2020 Syrah. This was a great start to awaken our palates. Around the grounds are other small seating areas to enjoy sipping on some wine. The chefs garden was an easy stroll nearby. Various herbs, fruit and veggies were in full bloom. Private rooms and spaces available for special events. Non pretentious more of a farm to table sort of vibe with sustainability. On top of serving beautiful wine and food, all of their vineyards are SIP Certified and have a rainwater recapture system which received the California Green Medal Award for Business. Really beautiful high end vineyard to visit, great for lunch! TIP: Definitely make a reservation online. I can see this place getting packed and busy on the weekends. Wine tasting price: $40, waived with a 2 bottle purchase. What I ate: - Grilled small peas with ricotta: This was such the perfect spring dish, creamy smooth ricotta, covered with perfectly grilled sugar snap peas. The fresh mix of herbs really brightened the flavor. Sweet, creamy, crunchy, herbacious. I was craving it a few days later. Small portion, good to share with 1 other person, or be greedy like me and eat it all. - Crispy fingerling potatoes with carmelized onion dip: This was the fancier verson of fries and dip and so good. The fingerling potatoes were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The dip was very oniony and a little thick (not really a dip in that sense), but so flavorful. This was a nice little snack for 3 people. - Wine tasting: On the table were 4 wines for 4 pours, but my server kept coming by with more wines for me to try. Also you got a welcome pour of a white wine when you checked in. I think I had at least 6-7 different wines, but I can't say if that's standard or just me being lucky since it was a little slow when I went. Pros: - Free EV charging, 2 Tesla ports, 2 J1772 charging ports. I was not expecting charging ports, and honestly thankful. During my 2 hour visit I was able to charge my car for free! - The food was so good. I wish I had more of an appetite so I could order a full meal here and enjoy it with wine - Outdoor patio was such a lovely spot to enjoy your wine tasting. I came in behind a very large party waiting to be seated and it took a while for the host to seat them. Then there was a verbose guest who kept chatting the host's ear off. So I just stood in the main entry way for quite some time, awkwardly wondering where I was supposed to go to get checked in. It took some time but I was able to figure it out and had a really nice time - Pricey. I'm a girl with champagne taste on a beer budget and couldn't afford to buy any of the wines to take home. The ones I liked were way out of my price range (I think it was $120?). Most bottles were around $60+ Would I come again? Yes! I've had Niner Wine Estates on my Paso Robles list for a while, and I finally got to visit and it did not disappoint! My husband and I along with our dog decided to take a last minute trip to Paso Robles this holiday weekend. We were lucky to score a last minute reservation at Niners for a late lunch. The staffs were very accommodating and arranged our seat outside with our dog. Upon arriving, we were greeted with a glass of Chardonnay and got seated right away. The winery itself is beautiful with a really cute garden where they grow most of the produce they serve on their menu. We both opted in for a tasting and ordered a few items off the menu to share. I can't pinpoint our favorite dish, but we ordered Brussels sprouts, sugar snap pea, white gazpacho, and octopus with squid ink grits. All dishes were beautifully presented and tasted great (slightly too salty for my taste but I think most places are too salty) Our wine tasting was great as well, our waiter also gave us a few extra tasting and they were all wonderful. There is limited seating in their covered patio area that looks out at their signature heart shaped tree formation on the hill. We tasted six reds. All were good. The epitome of farm to table experience! We did our booking at 11 am and it was perfect timing for tasting and lunch (winter menu). Their focaccia bread was out of this world amazing. Get it with the garlic and leek cheese spread and absolute chef's kiss. We had a beautiful outdoor seating and had a lovely view of Heart Hill. Thank you to Chad for incredible service and being generous with the pours. Don't snooze on the Zinfandel! Two bottle purchase waived one tasting so we got one Zin and ganache. We've stopped by on Easter which they happened to be open as pretty much every other tasting room was closed. Right from check in, the service was great. Right from walking in, there's the main tasting bar. Beautiful fireplace, and a massive full kitchen. Majority of the seating was outside with the view off the hillside and vineyard. Plenty of blankets for you if needed with the weather. There's also seating scattered throughout the garden area. They also has a kitchen garden that your able to walk through and check out. Beautiful flowers, and veggies mixed in together. A couple of chickens in the coop for that extra touch. The whole property is beautiful, wine was delicious, service was amazing. One of the prettiest scenery for a winery. Although it doesn't overlook the valley, it overlooks heart hill, which I think is charming in itself. Staff is fabulous They obviously love working at Niner. They speak highly of the owners which is reflected and how well they take care of their customers. It has a family like atmosphere. I think the food is top-notch here Their charcuterie board has everything a group of wine, zippers, and ask for Make sure you order the focaccia bread along with the charcuterie board.
