Unfortunately the tasting room and outdoor area sits next to a busy highway so the noise was palpable. We heard they have some amazing outdoor concerts and could see the gazebo used for that with ample outdoor seating. We liked all the wines and the staff and winemaker are very friendly. read more

Easily the best experience of this year's wine-tasting trip! Not only were the wines fantastic (the 2017 Reserve Cab Sauv and the 2021 Petit Verdot were my faves), but service and attention were great as well! Molly was attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. The owner and vintner Steve also came out and said hello! This location is beautiful and gorgeous and peaceful. I was very pleasantly surprised to find it not packed on a Sunday afternoon, though it did pick up just a little bit closer to closing time. Updated review - stopped in for a pick up and had a great time, this place has some of the most delicious wines we've ever tried and they treat you like family! the staff is so kind and the wine maker regularly comes around to chat and answer any questions. The property is beautiful and the atmosphere feels like crisp country, like you are at a rich uncles house in the beautiful country side. If you like Tempranillos this is your place! Took my parents on a trip to Paso Robles and we did a day of wine tasting. When I was checking out places this place looked so cute so I booked a reservation for us. Once we arrived it was so cute. The chandeliers inside and the rustic inside was perfect. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We were even early to our reservation and they were able to accommodate us which was nice. There was so many dogs playing which was so nice. They created such a cozy environment on the grounds outside it made you feel like you were in your own backyard. The wines were good so we bough a few of the reds to bring home. They packaged everything up nicely to go. Would definitely be back. I also would recommend stopping by for a tasting if you want a nice and laid back wine experience with great service with a relaxing vibe and nice reds. read more

Party of 6 for a birthday party. Last minute plans and they were very accommodating. Erika was our host, and she is very knowledgeable and very tentative. It was not busy at all. This little place is really cute! All outdoor tasting in the yard. Entertaining live music in a beautiful setting. Wine was good... not the best we had during the trip but decent. They are kind of missing the boat here. Lots of potential but not quite there. They have decent wine and the place is adorable but would like to have heard more about the wine we were tasting. Service was slow considering it was not busy and we were kind of ignored. Would have also loved to see some fall decorations! A beautiful barn should have pumpkins and hay bails in the fall! Very mediocre and very over-priced wines. It is pretty. The people seem nice. Two of the 10 wines we tried were good, the reserve cab and the nicer grenache. The grenache was good, but it was also $88 a bottle. It was good at $30 to $40, not $88. The tastings are $25 and $45 for the reserve. Way way way over-priced. That's right. 3 ways. Most of the wines were not even good at all. Bitter after taste on some. Paso, what's going on? Maybe that extra 5 hour drive to Sonoma sets these prices. Or maybe it's the heat? read more

Beautiful place to sit under the trees and taste. Molly was our awesome wine guide and we had a great chat with owner/ winemaker Steve while petting Brix, the golden. Most important: excellent wine! So excellent that we joined the wine club. We also reserved an overnight space through Harvest Host and parked our van out back overnight. Just us and a great horned owl. Highly recommend. Great people, great property, great wines! A wide range of unique offerings including a delicious Sparkling and Cab Franc.

We loved the red wine tasting! Our favorite was the 2019 grenache! We ended up with two bottles and a bottle of the sparkling, Jacqueline. Our host Molly was super sweet in recommending places for us that were kid friendly and in explaining what we were drinking. I loved that everything we drank was locally grown. Such a treat to support local artisans. We also came in a Sunday where they had a summer concert and food truck series. They had really amazing live music and a Mexican food truck. It was such a treat to sit outside with wine, live music and tasty food. Make sure to come early to snag a table or bring a picnic blanket to lounge on the grass. We were also super lucky to be able to stay on the property via harvest host. The Winery is close to all the action in Paso Robles without the big hotel cost and the most beautiful view when you wake up in your camper van! There is also a property onsite too can rent which is so chic! I just wish they had more stuff for sale. We love collecting stickers and merchandise from places we visit :) we are those gift shop type of people and we love to support. Overall one of our favorite wineries and harvest hosts we have visited. The wine and hosts were both so lovely! read more

This is a family owned and run small Winery and tasting room/grounds worth visiting and spending a little time. We found this place by accident as we were in the area with our two young granddaughters and wanted to do one tasting before heading to late lunch. Because of the granddaughters I searched for family friendly tasting rooms. So glad I did, because this winery came up and was a wonderful discovery. Beautiful grounds, very spacious and welcoming. The granddaughters enjoyed every minute there as they could run around and the Winery is animal friendly with a resident dog named Bricks. Bricks loves attention and loves kids. What even made the whole experience more enjoyable was the welcoming friendly approach and attention of everyone in the tasting room. And did I mention they make wonderful wine. They have full bodied bold Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah Cabernet blends and their whites are crisp, medium acidity and easy drinking, salud, enjoy. read more

Incredible! First time here on a late Saturday afternoon. We're visiting from out of town (CP alums) and were met with the most hospitality. Mary was so kind, the wine was delicious, and the ambiance was peaceful. Felt like we were in someone's beautiful backyard with the Paso views. Great family owned winery conveniently located off HWY 46 West. All of their reds are delicious . Went on a special VIP tour with the wine maker/owner and learned so much about the wine making process and got to taste several wines out of the barrel! Such a fun experience. They easily accommodated our large group. We enjoyed a beautiful tasting on a nice green lawn while listening to live music. The winery dog was ADORABLE. A few in our group were a bit tired after a long day and owner literally brewed us a pot of coffee and brought it out on a tray with mugs for everyone. I have a goal. Some say it's impossible. But with a little perseverance, planning, and plenty of electrolytes (plus a dedicated driver) it's totally possible. As of March of 2022 I'm closing in on said goal and hoping by Fall of 2022 to finish it off. What is that goal, you ask? To visit all Paso terroir wineries. That includes 46 East, 46 West, Templeton, Creston, Edna Valley and the very spaced out North of 46 wineries. I even have a physical 3x4 foot map with pushpins! I mean, who doesn't? When I was invited to the 46 West 2022 Wine Safari I was all in. There were plenty of wineries I haven't visited for one reason or another. Four Lanterns included! I had heard many a good thing about Four Lanterns from friends. That they were super friendly, had a wonderful picnic/grass area, plus great wines. Why I hadn't visited earlier is beyond me! But I'm glad this charity wine experience brought me to Four Lanterns because I will definitely be visiting again. With our wine passport (for a nominal fee of $40) we were invited to taste three wines at each winery. Four Lanterns began with a wonderful low alcohol (9.5%) wine named Soulager. This was by far my favorite and the one that stood out. This was a light and lively Viognier with the typical honeysuckle aroma but a bright saline finish. It's low alcohol made it a nice wine to sip on a warm day without getting too... well, tipsy. I enjoyed it! While tasting we were invited to check out their American Alligator, Spike. I never expected a gator to be so darn chill, but he was. We were even given the opportunity to pet him and wow! This definitely goes down in my core memory journal of life. We hung out in their grass area for a bit, relaxing and chatting with friends. The resident wine dog even came around for pets and scouted the grounds beneath us for the *hopeful* crumbs. I would definitely visit Four Lanterns again for an extremely chill wine tasting spot. This reminded me of the old Paso - before the fancy tasting rooms. Just good wine, great people, fantastic customer service and beautiful park-like setting to enjoy it all. read more

This place is amazing and I hope that one of my friends decides to get married at this amazing winery. Went over memorial day weekend and they had live music, a super table fire pit, really nice wine and a really good cheese board. The wine owner stopped by each table to introduce himself and thank us for coming. I really enjoyed the wine and bought a bottle. At least twice a year my husband and I meet friends in Paso, it's the perfect half way point. We have our usual place we go tasting, but this time we wanted to try a new place. We booked Four Lanterns, ahead of time and was happy to hear The Stable (where we stayed) also recommended them. We were not disappointed! It was a hot day and the owner, who was our server, gave us water right away. She then started our tastings and also gave us the story of the winery. We brought home at least four bottles.
