The zins here!! We've heard about the dusi name and ranch, and their zins from Tobin James, and we had to come and try it. We did not opt for a wine tasting due to our 1.5 years old, he couldn't sit through the first one... we both got a glass of their different zins and walked the grounds. It's a big area for our toddler to run around and let loose. We came upon a see saw and played with that and there's an area near that see saw that was empty, looks like for hosting small events. We drank and bought 2 bottles of their zins for the road. Next time we'll like to do a tasting. read more

We stopped by here after a few good recommendations and were welcomed with open arms. Beautiful property, female owned and operated and very well looked after. The tasting room was very quaint, offering a nice view of the production side from the comfort of the bar. Out host Joy was very much a joy to listen to stories from, as well as just get a fun tasting. We were lucky enough to meet Janell who gave us some fun anecdotes and insights into the valley, furthering to our experience. Loved every wine, some of the best whites in the Valley, and some very well balanced reds. If you want a fun, intimate, consistent place to try some amazing wines; that also allow for the fur babies. Great views and amazing wine! We've tried the pinot grigio and some of the reds, which are really good, but the rose keeps us coming back on hot summer days. What a lovely winery to visit! This is a great place to wine taste as a little date or go with a group. The tasting room not only sits right in the middle of the vineyards, but it also is attached to the storage side with a giant window you can see right into the barrels and watch people work. I love a good red wine and the tasting menu is set up with a great variety of reds, my favorite was The Dom, but my aunts was the cornflower blue. They have plenty seatings outside with a view of the vineyards, and a pizza pit on one side of the property. There isn't a whole lot of parking here but I'm hoping most people won't be driving after all this wine tasting! This is the perfect thing to do during the middle of the day, on a bright and sunny week. Our server was the sweetest guy, who clearly loved the wine here and was happy to share his thoughts on all the menu and even talked about how the wines differ from day to day which is nice to know he actually is tasting what we are having. A great place to visit, but if you're in the area don't forget you can always join the wine club! read more

I give the wine and those in the tasting room 5 stars. One of the best pinot Grigio's I've had. However Sarah who answered the call for club shipments was absolutely rude! She definitely went out of her way to make you feel stupid. Her tone is not warm and fuzzy by any means. I've visited many wineries in the Paso Robles area over the years, but this was a first time at J Dusi. They have some very old vines, the winemaker's grandfather began farming here long ago, but she was the first one in the family to want to make and sell their own wine. We had a large group, so they seated us in a comfortable tent area behind the winery. The owner/winemaker, Janelle, did our tasting and gave us a bit of the winery's history. They had a nice crisp Pinot Grigio, and then tasty reds...two Zinfandels, two blends, and a delicious port. Great view here, a good selection of wine (especially if you like reds), and a perfect place to picnic. read more

Wow! Just had a bottle of the Paper Street 2020 Cab and it was excellent. The winery is so fun to visit, and the wine is just excellent. Stopped at J Dusi on a whim and without a reservation. Was fortunate enough to get a table and we ended up skipping the wine tasting and went for a bottle of Zinfandel. We were given a taste of 2 different Zinfandels - one a 2020 and one 2019. We opted for the 2020 which was fruitier and jammy! Soooo yummy! I would definitely return and perhaps consider being a member. The view is beautiful, but the heat was high...so we opted for an indoor table. A few days ago the wife and I visited J Dusi Wines for a tasting based on a review and the varietals they offer. Immediately upon arrival I was excited about their property due to paved parking, well kept grounds, and the abundance of old oak trees surrounding the establishment and the vineyards. In addition, their vines are not wired and they don't have irrigation for the vines resulting in deeeeeep rooted vines. The staff were extremely friendly, and pleasant to chat with during the tasting, which heighten the tasting experience. As we sat outside among the vines under an umbrella, the cool gentle breeze that blew between the trees appeared to be in rhythm with soft jazz music played in the background. As for the wine, if was very refreshing, complex, and rewarding to the palate! The tasting began with their 2021 Pinot Grigio with hints of citrus fruits, grass, stone and refreshing, and ended with their 2018 "Narrator" a blend of Mourvedre, Grenache, and Syrah ("Backwards GSM") which was bold, jammy, and tannic on the finish. Happy to say this wine enjoyed the ride home (smile). The experience was extremely enjoyable, and our server even "beaded us" being that it was "Fat Tuesday" Highly recommend J Dusi Wines, and I will purchase more of their wines in the near future. read more

First timer here and my partner and I loved this place! So much so that we decided to sign up to be members. The ambiance was relaxing, not loud, and I really loved the outdoor chairs that overlook the vineyards. They made the space feel private and therefore you don't really pick up on other people's conversations. Grace was our pourer and she was so nice and put up with our corny jokes and questions so we really appreciated that! The wine was fabulous, their Escandalosa red was our favorite. We're really excited to come back in the fall or sooner and have some wine and enjoy the view! Also, on the weekends I believe they bring in a food truck of sorts. We always love stopping in for a tasting at J Dusi Wines. We are from Colorado and used to be a part of multiple wine clubs from several different areas and we have canceled all of them except J Dusi. Not only have we realized that we prefer wines from the Paso Robles area, but we like J Dusi over the others we have tried! Janell and her staff are always super friendly and very knowledgeable. Lovely grounds, a good place to relax and enjoy a nice summer/autumn breeze. In the background, there was some classic rock music playing. The wines are good, and staff was always on it making sure we didn't need anything else. The charcuterie box was a very pleasant surprise with some high quality items. It's not a standard lunchable-type offering. There was a good white cheddar, but there was also a sheep's rind cheese that was almost as soft as a Brie, but absolutely none of the funk of it. It was so incredibly good. There was also a crumbly bleu cheese, some meats, fruits, and bread. Well worth it. My friend bought some wine from here, but I don't know if I would head back again unless it's with her. read more

We stopped by for my engagement, woman instantly came out and told our party (13) no we need to leave. Our group, knowing could happen, are easy going and wanted to grab a glass and hang out and stand. No need for a table or extra service. We were told to stop by and the owner said they could accommodate. We were told to leave along with the people we parked next to who enjoyed our company pulling up. If you are a fun group I would not recommend stopping here. A "Karen" was quick to not let us walk to the property because we had music playing in the car. read more

Tastings are $20 per person but we spent $400 on wines (as well as a few gift items), so we were not charged any tasting fees. Because we bought a case, we got 10% off our the wine purchases. All of their red wines are $42; whites are $20. We were not initially given a Tasting Menu; we were expected to download it from the scan thingie. It didn't work on either of our cell phones; therefore, we requested and were given a paper Tasting List. We did buy an entire case of (mixed) wines; clearly, we liked the wines. They age their wines in stainless steel barrels, not oak. From this I learned that the reds that I don't normally love (Zin, Syrah and Petite Sirah), I do like when they have been aged in s/s. Apparently, for those varietals, I prefer the less complex wine that comes from s/s barrels. Arnie was very knowledgeable and personable. With each wine he poured, he gave us tips on food pairings. When we concluded our business, he carried the case of wine to our car for us, which we very much appreciated as I can't carry anything heavy and my husband was on his cane that day, leaving him with only one free hand. The Tasting Menu included five wines but the pours were really small. Conversely, we went to the Dubost Ranch Winery the next day. Their flights are down to only three wines, but each pour is two ounces. They have a nice little gift shop. I had originally thought I'd do a 5-star review but the next day we went to Dubost and ordered the best Cheese Board I've ever had in my life; and it was only $10. When I think back to our wine tasting experience at Eberle in August, I have to acknowledge that this (J Dusi) just wasn't much fun. I don't know how Dubost and Eberle were able to make tastings fun, but J Dusi failed to deliver on fun. It was more ... I don't know; more business, less fun. We will enjoy the wines we bought. read more

We had reservations, walked in and told us that they couldn't have children in the barrel room(we had a 13 year old with us) and would have to do our tastings standing up at the bar in the main room. Totally fine, but there was a couple in the barrel room with a 1 year old. So don't turn 1 away while accepting another. And it was wine we all ended up dumping and not enjoying. Be your own judge, but consider yourself warned. read more
