    II Campo Bianco
    P L.

A very small winery located in Tin City, known for making Italian wine in traditional Italian way. The indoor tasting room was very small, and the outdoor tasting area was a bit bigger but not appealing to most of the people who look for nice vibe or spectacular view. To me, the wines are more important than vibe or view. The winery offered a flight of five wines for just $25! I guess it may be the cheapest among all the wineries in Paso area. However, their wines are not bad at all. The "II Campo Bianco, a white blend of 3 different italian white grape varietals - Falangina, Trebbiano and Vermentino ( an atypical blend in Italy ) was refreshing on nose, and showed good complexity on palate, with medium length finish. It's a very good summer white for just $25. The "Fatto Mano", an Orange wine with a unique aroma, was a bit simple on palate and short in finish. The Nebbiolo, more like Barbarrasco, has very pronounced honey note on nose but dry on palate, good medium bodied, relatively round tannins, and nice lingering finish. Quite different compared to the traditional Italian Nebbiolo. The Sangiovese, which is more like Chianti Classico Gran Selezione level, was medium bodied, nice red fruits on palate with medium finish, quite nice. Since we arrived 2 days after the Wine Fest, we were given a few more wines leftover from the Fest to taste, awesome! Service was excellent with a lot of interaction with our server, who's very professional. Overall the wines are interesting & quite good. Worth visiting!

Had the opportunity to make a reservation and attend wine tasting at Giornata. It was an good experience that allowed exploration of diverse flavors and aromas of various wines from their selection. Recommend this establishment for the knowledgeable and professional staff. The staff at were exceptional. Their expertise and passion for wine were evident. They provided detailed explanations about each wine, including its origins, grape varietals, and unique characteristics. They were patient, answering all my questions and ensuring I had a deeper understanding of the wines I tasted. It was a delight to explore different styles and discover new favorites. Each wine was carefully curated, showcasing the winery's commitment to quality.

Stephy and Shane were fantastic! Perfect wine! Perfect service! Amazing views! Great staff, great location. Very sweet

Found this gem on the way to SLO for an impromptu wine tasting. Babette was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the wines. We went through 14 wines for the tasting, which was surprising - we are used to Napa, where they aren't as generous. Do yourself a favor and try the Fatto a Mano wines - very unique, and unfiltered! Not for everyone, but I was delighted at the taste. I ended up buying a bottle of the Fiano. The smokiness of it was fascinating, but it was still light and crisp, and excellent for a summer day. We also purchased a bottle of the Montepulciano (one of their traditional blends) - smooth, red fruit forward, and very easy to drink. Highly recommend this spot.

Giornata Winery was recommended to us by Randy at Chateau Margene in Morro Bay when we told him we are fond of Italian varietal wines like Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Montepulciano, and Vermentino to name a few. We arrived before noon on a Thursday morning and were warmly greeted by our wine pouring host Gina. It was cool but sunny out, so we decided to sit on the back patio. They are dog friendly for the record. It was cool enough that we left our pouch in the car for the short time we were there. Gina began by telling us a little about the many Italian varietal wines they make and the low volume handcrafted minimalist approach they take in making their wines. One of the techniques they use for their white wines like Vermentino is to let the juice sit on the skins for an extended period of time. This imparts a yellowish and orangish color to the wine. They do very little to affect the natural fermentation and aging of the wines, using neutral storage and letting the wines do their own thing. The result is some pretty spectacular wines that reminded us of many of the wines we tried in Italy when we were there last year. The red red wines we tried, including a Nebbiolo and a red blend called gemellaia (Sangiovese, Merlot, Petite Verdot) were outstanding. We were lucky to taste without a reservation; however, appointments are recommended.

So happy to discover this hidden gem of a tasting room. They only serve Italian types of wines including the ones made from Nebbiolo grape. The taste of the wines is outstanding. I personally fell in love with Fiano and Nebbiolo which I ended up purchasing and excited to share it with my close ones during the next celebration. The atmosphere is very cozy. What's most important the owner makes sure you're feeling well and taken care of at their wonderful place. Make sure you eat before coming here as they're not serving food or snacks...at least right now. Highly recommend this place and definitely will be back next time I'm in Paso Robles area.

If you love your Cal-Italia wines, or if you just love big, bold wines with a personality don't miss Gionata! Make sure to make an appointment and come prepared to taste some great wines. Their tasting room makes for the perfect intimate setting to get time with the owner to learn all about their wines and the inspiration behind them. Don't miss their Aglianico. It is one of the best, and more memorable wines I have had in a long time. Regardless what type of wine you prefer Stephanie is a great host and does a great job walking you through their creations. We left buying 4 bottles but I'm already thinking I should have bought more!

We made an appt for 11:30. The owner was ready and waiting for us. There were 5 different wines on the tasting menu, 3 whites 2 reds all were very good. She had other wines that we asked about and tried. I would highly recommend trying. All Italian wines. Enjoyed chatting with the owner about life, wine making and different wines.

Next to Field Recordings, Giornata has no sign on their space. They prefer it that way to avoid having the drunk slurpers and bus-riding neanderthals waste their time and wine. Stephanie Terrizzi, was our host for the private tasting arranged one month in advance. She is the viticulturalist (farmer) of the husband and wife team behind Giornata. We met Brian (winemaker) on our way out. They are making great progress in fine-tuning California Aglianico (2015) to achieve its old world potential. This wine is showing such great promise, we bought one. Definitely an aging wine. All of their wines were well worth trying and there are some big beasts on the list. Yay!!!!! To commemorate this, our first visit to Giornata, we bought two bottles of Barbera (2016) which was really showing well with strong varietal fruit forward and plenty of acid. Maybe only a 1-2 year wait for this beauty. Do yourself a favor and the Terrizzi's a favor as well, if you do not collect wines, go somewhere else in Tin City and buy something more in your price range that you can mix with 7-Up.

They were incredibly welcoming and made us feel like family, even though it was only our second tasting room visit ever. Bret, the winemaker, is a great guy. We instantly connected over his ties to Eagle, Idaho (where my parents live), which made the experience even more special. Huge shoutout to Lexi as well. She was an awesome host on both visits and was extremely friendly and accommodating. Bret's wines were outstanding across the board. We especially loved the 2024 El Paso de Robles White, the 2021 Fasten Your Seatbelt Syrah (absolutely incredible), and the 2022 Willow Creek District red blend. Thoughtful, balanced, and beautifully made. The space is clean, modern, and vibrant, and their creative marketing really stands out across social, their website, merch, and overall brand presence. We enjoyed it so much that we joined the wine club on the spot and are excited to have Levo in our regular rotation as we move from SLO to Atascadero. Highly recommend! Fantastic wine, great people, and a 10/10 experience.

We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.
