Makes sense since we were in Paso and they're famous for their big bold reds. I did enjoy their cabernet sauvignon the most in the tasting, however the puors were less than an oz, which was just enough to get a sip in. I was disappointed in that especially as a potential buyer looking to get understand the wine a bit more than a two sipper. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A wine tasting of four wines with a very miniscule tasting pours was around $40.

Since it's more of boutique, the bottles are quite pricey, mostly ranging near the 100s. But it was our favorite the whole weekend we went there. And we bought 6 bottles. We loved the spell and got 3 bottles of that! It's a Syrah cab blend. Has the Paso flavor that we love. It's not a vineyard, just a tasting room but worth a visit. We met the wine maker too. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to pop open a bottle at home soon!

Recently, we came back for a mini reunion and made Eberle a place where our party of 8 could relax, unwind, and reminisce of yesteryears while enjoying the beautiful views from the covered vineyard deck, and needless to say we absolutely had a blast! The tasting experience was still complimentary thanks to the blessed heart of Mr. Gary Eberle (thank you kind Sir), who also happened to grill up some delicious meats and smoked sausage that day (Santa Maria style), which was the perfect pairing to his wines. Special mention to Stephanie, who did an phenomenal job guiding us through the last cave tour of the day...and Mr. Eberle, she truly did your story justice (and then some!). WOW! About halfway through our flight, she took us downstairs for the cave tour. Wow, what a stunner! Such a unique touch to this winery. The other incredible thing is that Eberle doesn't charge for tastings so you might as well pick up a bottle or two :)

After that, everything was fantastic. I love that Justin offers this tasting room separate from their main winery, which is several miles away. Having a location right in the downtown Paso Robles square is so convenient, especially being surrounded by shops and restaurants. I also really loved the setup with tables to sit at versus standing at a bar. They offer wine by the glass as well as different tasting flight options, and they also serve small bites. We heard there are different menus depending on the day, which is a nice touch. Our server greeted us quickly, brought water right away, and got our first tasting to us fast. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and did an excellent job explaining each one. Since we were in a bit of a hurry to catch a flight, she kindly brought all of our tastings out at once, clearly labeled, walked us through them, and let us enjoy at our own pace. I enjoyed learning about the Austin Hope winery and its origins. I felt like they grew in popularity quickly and threw up some barns to accommodate the crowds. For example, the bathroom wasn't well constructed as when people slammed the door shut, the walls shook. I can't imagine how the walls would shake if someone had a blowout here. Even with some of the downfalls, this was my favorite winery and I wish I could get some of the wines without joining the club. The commitment is too much and shipping is also high, so it's not worth it. The GSM was my favorite and if I ever see it somewhere, Ima get me some!

I always see the Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon in stores and was curious about how good their reserve is. spoiler, it is very good. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A wine tasting here is around $25 and the bottles range from $50+. I love Austin Hope's wine. Definitely a must visit and I will be back next time I'm in Paso.

I'm sure you've heard of and tasted many of their items. Today it's wine with lunch. I picked up six for an anniversary celebration. This group forced me to sit and enjoy lunch with them. I was told by the "wonderful owner (a few years back) that this property is the only winery and restaurant in the country with a Michelin Star. I know it's difficult to obtain, I'm not sure how long that star lasts either. 90% percent of the dining is done on the patio surrounding the main room Our server Carley, she was pleasant and tolerated the guests (us) she served. Now the menu is short and expensive, more places & restaurants seem to going in that direction. I really wanted the tomahawk pork chop but I settled with the spring salad and a small portion of King Salmon. Justin's is known for their Burger and a side of truffle fries will put you back a bit. if you have to ask.... The wine was brought out one white and one red. I don't drink but both flavors were applauded. I ordered a bottle of sparkling water. The stories flowed, I didn't really know these folks, they were good AG people from Bakersfield. So we got acquainted, the most annoying thing were the flies. They had those table top fly spinners but on another table so that didn't help us much. The food was delicious, no question although the pasta dish with chicken for L had a very long and dark hair on it you really couldn't miss it. Other than that excitement we all enjoyed our meal. I had a couple slices of the pork, not as tender as I would have thought but it tasted real good. Salad a tad small but flavorful. I missed out on dessert, the wine was enough. Overall a very nice setting with a casual pace, perfect for those special occasions. I went there because they were recommended by so many friends to me. That's probably where they are lucky. That's why people visit them and because they are so hyped the person visiting has to also like them. The employees here are not motivated enough to be nice or attend the guests properly during the end of the day. The lady on the front desk in front of the entry was super rude. In a 3 mins conversation she mentioned at least 4 times how they were about to close and they are unable to provide us anything except the wine tasting. We had an appointment for 3:30 and the winery closes at 5:00. I would have understood if it was 4:30. I was celebrating my birthday and I mentioned it. It literally meant nothing to her and she never mentioned it in her notes while she mentioned that they will do a chocolate flight with a candle. The guy who helped us with our wine tasting was good but visibly tired. He tried his best. Even arranged a charcuterie board for us. He did mention they were about to close but that made sense. He was genuinely happy to see us when we went inside to pay. The only good deed done to us was asking us if we needed waters for the road. Also I liked the breezy fan feature. The wines are not very appealing. A lot better can be done with the taste,recipes and fermentation process. The prices are very high for the experience and the wines. They had a couple special members only bottles open but they weren't super busy on a Thursday afternoon so we got to try those too. All of the wines were delicious honestly! My favorite was the Silken. The tasting room is beautiful and pretty big. They have a ton more seating on the wrap around porch and downstairs on the patio. They also have a short but good menu for food items as well. We got their charcuterie plate, a bowl of their daily soup, and a small salad. Everything was fresh with good flavor and the bread was addicting! Even my wife that doesn't eat bread couldn't put it down. I do wish the soup came out a bit hotter but it was tasty with a nice kick to it. Would definitely come back to Parrish for a tasting next time I'm in town.

The tasting is done standing at the bar but it is a very generous tasting where you can try up to 8 wines for $25, and the tasting fee is waived if you buy a bottle that costs at least $25. Thankfully, their wines were excellent and I ended up buying several to take home with me. The most expensive one was about $48, so the tasting fees were easily waived. They also have a wine club and it is an excellent deal, and they ship all over the country!

I wanted to squeeze in a wine tasting anywhere while she did some browsing at the stores, and her last comment was "just make sure they are kid-friendly." I wasn't going to stop at Hope on Park, even though the aesthetics of the wine tasting bar are really appealing, just because in the past I haven't always super loved the flagship cabernet that is distributed everywhere and the place was so nice, it didn't seem kid-friendly. However, the host, Alli, was so friendly and engaging that I paused to reconsider. Once she mentioned that it was also legal to take the wine to the park, as long as you had a lid, I was in, as I had an escape plan if it didn't work out with my family!! From that point on, it was a really fun and magical tour of the entire lineup of Austin Hope--with many really enjoyable whites and reds. Alli also offered up revisits and other bottles that weren't in the lineup...and she was super knowledgeable about all the wines, since that is what she is studying at school. When my wife came with our son, Alli also really engaged both of them with both the wine lineup and juice for my son, being really kind and generous to both of them and I could tell they both really liked her as well. So, this ended up being the perfect spot! I guess my instincts were right!! Of course, we were going to buy a couple of bottles to get the tasting fee waived and to repay her for her kindness...however, we loved the experience and her so much, we ended up buying the two most expensive bottles there.
