The reviews of this place looked promising and I saw GLUTEN FREE WAFFLES so of course I had to check it out. Despite a line out the door, down the steps, and onto the sidewalk, we didn't wait as long as I thought we would. Basically you stand in line to order at the register and then you're seated. No holding tables ahead of time! They'll ask you to move and get in line. We got to the register and ordered. By the time we were done ordering, a table was ready for us. I'm not sure how that magic works but it did. We were a party of 3 with 2 dogs so we were outside. No problem though, plenty of shade and nice tables. They even had water for the dogs! We got our drinks right away and less than 15 minutes later (if that) we had our meal. The gluten free waffle was awesome. My husband said he would have asked how I liked it but I was too busy eating lol. My teen got French toast and said it was very good. Husband got a breakfast burrito which he practically inhaled. We got a side of tater tots to share and they were deliciously crispy. Our servers were super sweet and attentive. The staff all seemed friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. There were a ton of empty tables, but instead of letting people sit down and order from a server, they ask you to wait in line and order at the counter. We stopped by here for brunch while waiting for the New Year's Eve festivities. The line was long but moved pretty quickly. You place your order and a server will find a table for you. Pretty good way to help keep the lines moving. Corn beef and hash: tasty and wanted more. The tater tots were really good too. Their kids meal is a good deal. Don't let the line scare you it moves fast! You get in line, order and pay and the lovely hostess will seat you inside or out. They have a huge dog friendly patio and a beautifully decorated interior seating area. My seafood omelette had huge chunks of lobster and Danish cheese. My friend had the Danish omelette with sausage. My other friend had waffles and Danish sausage. Most meals come with tater tots too. The coffee was also delicious. One strange thing was that there was no sugar on the table just Splenda but fortunately the coffee tasted good enough to drink unsweetened. I am somewhat confused by prior Yelp reviews regarding the food here as it was rated very high. While the breakfast wasn't bad, the food we ordered was just your typical breakfast fare. It was okay (good) but nothing spectacular. I usually like ordering chilaquiles when it is offered on the menu so this is what I ordered. Our table also ordered the vegetable omelet, the gluten free waffles and the corned beef hash and eggs. Everyone agreed their breakfast was good but nothing to write home about. The star of the dishes in my opinion were the crispy tater tots. We arrived at 8:00am so we were able to walk right in and get seated after placing our order at the register. The food came out so quickly you have to wonder whether some of their food is already pre made. While the chilaquiles was good I've definitely had much better. The service was excellent but I'm sorry, the food was nothing to get excited about. I did enjoy looking at the napkin sketches posted on bulletin boards.
