Ok So while they learn all those fancy wine tasting terms I'll get myself some breakfast. I stopped to asked a tow truck driver where's the best place for breakfast in town? First thing he said Mother Hubbards. That was good enough for me have some breakfast and a parking lot nap. Mothers looks across at the old Split Pea Andersons relic building Thats another story. Mothers place has been here awhile, 30 plus years its got that look, signage thats faded and to the point. Classic mom & pop, Tired, well worn, and very friendly, with great home cooked meals. The love is here, hard work, and long hours. Its shows too, done when you actually had to make and prepare meals to be cooked when ordered. Riley was "the" worker, her energy shows brightly. Big smile, and good knowledge of the menu and the neighborhood. (She deserves a raise). She covered my questions... whats the most popular item ordered? She replied sweet or savory...good answer. How bout for breakfast not sweet? Oh you'll want to try the "Mess" its a scramble...Ok and let me try the biscuits with a bit of gravy. It was minutes and breakfast arrived, the gravy was last to show and as soon as I looked at it I knew it was made in the kitchen. Not from a dry mix, or frozen starter and certainly not from a can. It was too thin in consistency to be anything but made here. Delicious all of it, no kidding A five star Diner because they did it all, correctly. thank you Foodguy-Martin

The waitress split the foods in half for us and charge us $3.15 for each item that we split. Service is a little slow due to tmot is a small business. I don't mind returning to this place and try some other foods on their menu.

I was in town working an event and had some extra time to explore the Danish village. Since the…read morearea is known for its Danish bakeries, I couldn't leave without bringing home some cookies. I still remember buying butter cookies at the Copenhagen airport, and I've been craving that same style ever since, especially because there aren't many places near me in my area that sell them freshly made. I randomly came across Danish Village Bakery and found a tub of assorted cookies for around $20. The lady working inside helped me right away and answered my questions about which items were the most popular and whether the cookies were freshly made. She was friendly and made the visit quick and easy. You can buy Danish cookies at regular grocery stores, but these tasted completely different. They were softer, fresher, and had that rich, buttery flavor that packaged cookies are usually missing. They were even better than the airport cookies I remembered! The bakery itself had a cute, homey, old-fashioned atmosphere, and there was plenty of free parking nearby. I'm really glad I stopped in because the cookies ended up being one of my favorite treats from the trip. I would definitely return for another tub the next time I'm in town.

Most people get pastries to-go but they have a few tables inside and outside. They sell all kinds of baked goods from cookies to bread and danishes, of course. We came for the famous Kringle ($19). It looks like a big pretzel but it's a light, flaky pastry with an almond flavored filling. It's unique and worth trying. You can't leave without a bucket of Danish Butter Cookies ($22.36). It comes with an assortment of flavors and they're all good, but I'm partial to the chocolate chip and oatmeal. They make great gifts too. We also got their Apple Strudel ($20.65) which was probably my favorite. It wasn't too sweet and had a good amount of apples in it. If you're visiting Solvang and can't decide which bakery to visit, this is a good one to start with.

The restaurant is awash in grays and browns to lend luxury and atmosphere without being somber. The inside of the restaurant at night was warmed by soft amber lighting while the outside seating area where my party dines was brightened by ambient light. Staff are very friendly, helpful, attentive, and professional. The food was amazing! Everything was fresh, vibrant, and flavorful. The starter scones were delightfully warm and flaky. We had a memorable nectarine salad which captured the sweetness of summer. There were mixed dietary needs in our group. The restaurant was able to accommodate a vegetarian/vegan diet. Highly recommend this great restaurant!

My wife and I came here and it was our first time, I can say this inside was absolutely beautiful. This place is not only a great date night, it's gorgeous, it's well put together and that I can say was absolutely great. The service: the service was OK, one thing that is hard is when there isn't as many people there at the moment I do expect the service to be just a little bit better only because you do have the opportunity to pay a little bit more attention to individuals and not a lot of groups. I do feel like it took a while to get back to us, and even when trying to explain things to us, it felt like one of the people that was helping us didn't really know what they were talking about, wasn't really informative about the menu and wasn't really personable. They weren't rude, just not really personable, especially to people who said it was their first time. That is a big deal to us and that plays a bigger part in why it's hard for me to wanna come back. The food: we had two items on the menu, it was the peppers in the shrimp. I do feel like the peppers were very, very lackluster. They really had nothing special to them. You would think that there would be just a bit more of the seasoning, the garlic would be spread out all over, and there might be something else on top to give them a bit more of a flavor. It was a pile of garlic over in the corner of the plate and the peppers didn't really have much of them, they were just peppers. The shrimp was decent, I liked what was on top of them. I just feel like there was nothing special to it. I feel like there are so many rows you can go with grilling them or adding a bit more to them in the plate. It just felt like you got four garlic on a plate with a sauce on top and they were slightly soaked. The fried chicken sliders were absolutely wonderful, that was my favorite part. Honestly, if you could do those à la carte and put three on a plate or maybe even four depending on how hungry you are that would be just a phenomenal dish on its own and their fries were absolutely great. Overall, I feel like there are some things that can use an improvement. I see the potential and there are a couple other things on the menu that I wanted to try, and I want to convince myself to go back and give them a try. it's just hard when that is your first impression. Do I think it's worth giving it a shot? Yes but do I think they can do better as well yes
