12/30/23 We were in search of a coffee shop at Solvang when Hubby passed up coffee at Mortensen's & we landed here. Usually our go to is the Good Seed but it was already closed when we got to this fair city. I could've just gone with a regular coffee but He had to have a latte-so we ordered each oat milk latte. Service is friendly. Nice little gelato & espresso shop with white tables & red chairs. The latte was mostly oat milk & I fail to taste the espresso but it hit the spot with the pistachio & chocolate pastry from Mortensen. I didn't really expect that they would do a latte justice because clearly they specialize in gelato. Summing it up how neat the shop is & the friendly service, a 3 star rating is standard. Oh and apparently it's a wine tasting room, not today it isn't lol read more

Based on the menu available, Solvang Flavors offers quality foods like crepes, salads, cheese tastings... but my family came for the gelato! A decent selection of flavors, mostly in the refreshing and light categories (matcha, vanilla with caramel, mango, cookies and creme... no double-chocolate or blue cotton candy here!), they seem to favor quality over quantity, because it was all delicious. The man behind the counter was welcoming and patient while we tried samples of a few flavors, and the prices were decent compared to other gelato shops we have tried in the area. We went in the afternoon, so it was not crowded, and they didn't blast loud music. Added to that were nice, clean, and comfortable benches provided for customers, so my family had a very relaxing time while enjoy our treat! We will definitely go back again! read more

Took a break here to pick up some gelato after shopping around the local shops. The gelato was perfect for the hot weather and the shop was very comfy to take a small break at. They have a lot of variety to choose from and service was very friendly. read more

Cool cafe in Solvang with a TON of choices on pretty much whatever you want. They sell paninis, savory crepes, sweet crepes, gelato, wine, coffee, etc. As I was having a sweet craving, I decided to get their "Nutella and Strawberry" Sweet Crepe from their menu. The menu in the store does not have any prices on it but I checked their online website and the prices are listed there in case you want a sneak peak. The crepe we ordered was $12.50 as of the time of this writing. The shop itself is very clean and had a decent amount of seating. The crepe came out and I found it to be pretty tasty and it was presented well on the plate. No complaints here. When I'm back in Solvang, I will try something else out next! read more

Y'know, I didn't think this place was too bad. Just alright, but I guess anything that's less than a stellar review is absolutely unacceptable to the owner, so beware. Their response is more of a deterrent than what my mediocre review could ever possibly be. Should have honestly taken the L or at least "informed" me in a less condescending, professional manner. Not everybody is privileged enough to travel to experience these "authentic" flavors & making that the basis of a response is inherently privileged, classist, & dismisses accessibility and equity. Probably the newest spot in Solvang. We stopped by for some gelato over the weekend after walking around town. The place is very cute and clean with a public restroom. Which is a plus after walking around for hours. There is a section in the back with variety of jams, jellies, maple syrup, vinegar and olive oil for sale. Perfect gift items or treats for yourself. Loved sampling and purchasing few items. The gelato was ok. We tried few flavors and ended up buying the cookies and cream. It's a bit overpriced for the amount you get but don't forget it's located in a tourist town. I was very disappointed with the $12 crepe I got. It was so dry I couldn't chew it. Very small with probably half a banana inside and half a scoop of gelato. Overall a cute place to try out. I almost forgat, they sell handmade chocolates too. Maybe will try it next time I'm in Solvang. read more

On a hot day, gelato sounds AMAZING so we found this gem hidden under the windmill. As you walk in staff is ready to greet you with smiles! One thing I appreciate about this place is that they allow to you sample as many flavors as you want before choosing one! I did not feel like the staff hated me but encouraged me to try them all! Even though I loved the flavor of the Lemon Gelato I settled for the Cookies and Cream flavor which was just as good! The inside gives you a real modern and hipster feel that I liked as well! Make sure to come in after you take that picture under the windmill to get something sweet and refreshing! read more

Just delightful! The panini was grilled to perfection. There is a patio where my dog and I settled down. It was a particularly warm day and they brought out some cold water for the little guy, which was greatly appreciated. Will 100% come back again, especially after the delicious passion fruit gelato. read more

Keely was up front to greet me when I stopped by. She was adorable and friendly and told me all about Gelato. Can't believe I have never eaten Gelato before. She had me try some delicious flavors like salted Carmel and Oreos. The texture was smooth and creamy. So delicious! I've come two times: Experience 1: went in 530 and the girl said they closed the crepe station and cleaned it up already. How disappointng!!!! I'm all for having work cleaned up and ready to go when your shift is over but post a damn sign that let's me know, 1 hr, 30 min, whatever it is when the crepe station will be closed before your actual close. Experience 2: came in at 430, says is closes at 6. I waited in line for 10 min for a crepe a second time, very excited once more. Once again the girl told me the crepe station was closed up for the night. There is no sign or anything posted showing the crepe station closes. So once again I left disappointed. Side note their ice cream doesn't look all that great, wait and go down the steet there are two shops that have very tasty ice cream or shaved ice. read more

Two vegan/non-dairy sorbet flavors on my visit - mango and lemon. Got the mango and it was okay - nice to have something cold on a hot day but wouldn't get it again, the flavor was lacking a bit. The non-dairy flavor selection looked pretty good. They sell gourmet chocolates that look amazing but apparently they're all made with milk so I didn't try any ($2/piece). read more

Freaking amazing!!!! I went here ONCE five years ago and loved it so much it was the first place we went when we got to solvang this year. I got the peach sorbet for myself and 12 chocolates as a gift for my grandma. The only thing that made me sad was that when I was here years ago the employee put peach balsamic on the peach sorbet and it was TO DIE FOR!!! When I asked the employee this time if she had the peach balsamic for the sorbet she had no idea what I was talking about. Obviously, this is not her fault and they've probably changed the store a little since 5 years ago, but I've been craving the peach sorbet and peach balsamic combo for five years and was really bummed it wasn't offered anymore. Nonetheless, the sorbet was amazing and I will always come here when I'm in town. Ps, service was great. I didn't catch her name, but the young pretty red head was our server and she was so kind! This review will be as short as my time spent here was. Honestly, just don't even waste your time coming in here. There are much more delicious places to get gelato and Solvang is not one. Just get ice cream. I came in here and it was empty, no wait. The woman working here eyed me up and down did not say anything and then said a very quiet "hi" as soon as she was done eyeing me. I left as soon as that happened. The gelato did not look fresh. Went over to Trolley Ice Cream and it was delicious. read more

I love Gelato so when I saw this cute shop in Solvang I had to try it. The girl that helped us was really friendly and helpful. I tried the coconut and chocolate hazelnut. It was out of this world! It was the thickest Gelato I've ever tried! The flavor of the coconut was outstanding sweet and coconutty! Whenever I try coconut Gelato at other places it falls short but this hit the spot! Both flavors tasted soo fresh! They also have like olive oils honeys and condiments to sample and those were also outstanding! Definetly worth a visit if your in town! read more

Love.This.Shop! Visited 2x during our weekend in Solvang. First impression is: what a beautiful shop! Everything arranged "just-so". Solvang-esque without being kitschy at all. The specialty chocolates are almost too pretty and unique to eat... but not quite... They're delicious! They'd be a perfect gift to grab with a bottle of good red. The owners are darling! So sweet and were very friendly and fun. We came back to taste and buy some gelato - all the flavors we tried were yum. They were making a fresh batch of birthday-cake-flavored gelato in the kitchen and even offered us a (clean) spoonful right outta the mixer - so delish! I highly recommend stopping here while you're in Solvang! Have fun!! read more

We both work in the restaurant industry, so we understand that larger parties can demand attention and that things don't always go perfectly. We tried to be patient and give the team the benefit of the doubt. However, after waiting more than 15 minutes without anyone checking on us, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging our table, we decided to leave. What made the experience especially frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We never felt welcomed beyond being shown to our table, and ultimately it felt like our business wasn't valued. Hopefully this was just an off night, because the atmosphere and concept seemed like something we would have enjoyed. While it comes with an aioli, which is good for the onions and lemons, for sure, the move is to order marinara dipping sauce. Definite recommend. 4. Bread. So it's a baguette with chimichurri. Weird because they spread it on the bread already on THE OUTSIDE, not inside like you would think. You might be tempted to think: why not just put into a cup so that you can spread it yourself? And don't we normally put it on a meat like steak? But be not be alarmed. While these are questionable plating choices, you may ask for just the bread itself, which is great and worth getting. It's got a crisp outer shell and softer inside, which is a perfect pair for your chowder or even some marinara. Actual recommend. Also comes with soft butter spread, pickled onions. So should you come? Yes. Even if you don't stay at The Landsby, which is a nice hotel, by the way. But don't take my word for it. Come on over for dinner sometime and take in the vibe and good eats when next you visit Solvang town.
