Wish this review could be better but when we went last the manager or greeter in the shirt and tie sat my girlfriend while I was busy trying to win a stuffed animal from the claw machine. When she sat down the greeter stopped and said "I don't know what it is but you smell real good". Now I'm not jealous and it's not like he touched her or anything but creepy is creepy. Besides the fact I was with her and I am sure he could tell it made her feel uncomfortable and usually she doesn't bring up being flirted with by guys with me but in this case it made her feel so bad that she told me. If that guy, tall older with graying sideburns, is there next time I won't leave him with her for even a second. Update. Only reason I keep going to this location is because of the server named Dara. She is kind and helpful and really seems to care about your enjoyment. You can tell she is a genuinely nice person. Ask for her and find out for yourself. Food is good and nachos are very well done. This Denny's has changed their decor inside and out which makes it much nicer. It is clean and the staff is very friendly. I always get the Lumberjack Slam it is my favorite and the food is great. The good thing is they never burn my pancakes. The prices have raise up but what can I say. The only tiny downfall is sometimes they can be slow at service. Also, you can show your Military ID and they give a 10% discount for the whole meal. Give them A++ on that. Unlike IHOP which only gives a discount to the vet and not the whole meal from everyone. I do not mind going back to this Denny's and plus it is somewhat close to home so why not! They are the best!!! read more

Good, predictable breakfast food. The Build Your Own Slam is perfect for us, since we have a lot of dietary restrictions. It's a bit pricey, but fair for what you get. No complaints. Good service. Clean, as usual. A solid choice. We had an early appointment, and had to drive from the Westside, so being open 24/7 was ideal. Not many places that can do that for us. Went on a Sunday afternoon, it was empty so seating was fast. Our server was Dara and I've never had a server be so incredibly nice and attentive. She even went the extra mile to remember my husband and my name. She came by several times to make sure our drinks were filled each time. Although Denny's is not the prime restaurant for fine dining, it's a great place to go when you have that craving for breakfast for lunch or dinner. I ordered the grand slammed. My eggs were cooked to perfection. Pancakes were nice and fluffy. My husband had the country fried steak, he liked it. At the end of the meal, my glass was filled to the top with soda; not wanting it to go to waste Dara put the drink in a cup for me to take it to go. How awesome is that!! Dara was extremely talkative, perhaps a bit too much for some but I didn't mind. She was very personable. I could hear her talking to other customers and they all seemed to love her. Some guys walked and she called them by name and even asked about how things were going in their personal life. Like she remembered them from their other visit. Weird experience last night. We've been here a few times before but last night we were given our check and at check out our server took it away from the cashier and said he would handle it. Total was 51. Added a 10 tip. He then took off food to get the total down to 38 but still ran the card for 61. When we brought it up to the manager he said he had closed out the wrong table earlier and some other bs that made no sense. Went to eat here today at lunch with my gf and what a freaking MISTAKE! We normally eat at the Dennys off PCH and 7th, but decided to try this Bellflower location. We should have known we were in for a bad time when it took 15 minutes for a waitress just to come by and take our drink order. Our food took another 30 minutes to be delivered! Are you FREAKING kidding me?!?! The place was full and they seemed to be short staffed on waitresses, but we would have been understanding if our waitress seemed to care or would update us like..."your food is coming soon". When our waitress did grace us with her presence her demeanor was rushed and impersonal which made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. I decided to conduct my own research analysis about half way thru our meal by timing the delivery of food to a family of 4 who sat near by. When we left they had been waiting for their food for 25 minutes with no sign of delivery any time soon. We love this dennys. Great food and love the service. We often come on Tuesdays after 6pm with our son. Amanda and Ricardo are a major asset to this company. They are very nice to us and our son. They remember our drinks and often have them there when we sit down. A few weeks ago our son left his toy car on the table. I've come to dine at this Denny's location a couple of times and I've found it to be more pleasant than other locations, they're not super packed and service is friendly. Every time my boyfriend and I come here we'll always get a free puppy sundae with our check in. Parking is not a problem since it in a huge lot shared with several other stores in a plaza. Whenever I'm in long beach wanting a quick bite in the morning I'll head here. One time my boyfriend and I were dinning here and when we went to go pay, the manager was at the cashier. He told us to wait for a minute, went to his office and came back with a couple 20% off coupons for the next time we dine there. I didn't even know they had coupons! The great thing about Denny's is ... It's always open. However, for whatever reason, they're always understaffed. I made it a priority to bring this to the manager's attention because I was just not having it. I came here on a late Friday night/early Saturday morning (2am). I entered the restaurant and the lady told me to pick a seat. We were given our menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Everything from then onwards was just a disappointment. I ordered a hot tea with honey on the side and my boyfriend, iced water. The waiter came back and took our order: 2x lumberjack with sunny side up eggs and wheat bread. We also ordered a root beer float. We waited a good 20 minutes before our food came and even then, we didn't have our utensils. By now, the waiter forgot about my hot tea. He said he'll fetch it right away. He came back with my hot tea and utensils. We ate and thought nothing of it. Three quarters through our meal and our root beer float still hasn't arrived. The lady that sat across from us was not happy at all either. She ordered Mac n cheese and chicken strips. She got her Mac n cheese and soda, but her chicken strips were nowhere to be found even 30 minutes into the meal. She was really upset and stated that she will take off if her chicken strips don't appear in the next ten minutes. We had to remind our waiter about our root beer float. Fast forward and I need a box for my food. I tried with all my might to get someone's attention but they must have been all hiding in the back. When they came out, they either didn't see me or refused to acknowledge me. I even shouted "hey homeboy!!" Nothing. Frustrated with the lack of attention, my boyfriend walked past the counter over to the manager who was furiously tapping away at the screen. Had I not known I was at Denny's, I would have thought he was writing an essay. Anyways, my boyfriend asked for the box and check. A minute later, out of nowhere, our waiter appeared with the box and check. Where were you when we needed you. Jeez.. We paid for our meal and I told the manager I was not happy with the service. I told him he was understaffed and he gave me the lame excuse that they were more people tonight than he expected. LAME. It's a Friday night; people are going to go out and drink and come to Denny's after for a meal. It's kind of expected that it'll get busy at 2am. Lame excuse. And this is a lame excuse of a diner. Not a big fan of Dennys in general and have avoided them for many years now due to the lack of good food like they used to have as well as the run down stores they have now. Also the prices have gone way up from the bargain deal it used to be but this place brings back the old memories of when the food was good and the prices reasonable... Well prices are still the same as others but the food at this particular location is great. I prefer this location rather the one on 7th and PCH because its way cleaner and less ghetto. The selections of new items were definitely a plus and cheap as well. Customer service was on point, they come by every 5-10 minutes to ask how were doing and to fill our cups with water and or other beverages. Denny's. Who'd a thought. Baja Sanora taco place was closed so I took a walk from my hotel and decided to try Denny's. Clam chowder and salad came out right away. Great and friendly service and the soup was hot and delicious, salad fresh and crispy, bowl of tangy Italian dressing on the side and some hot sauce. Staff was friendly and laughing. Manager was assisting with service. Coffee cup stayed full. Big glass of ice cold water with a straw. Then the Patty Melt with fries came out. Not on menu but they made me the patty melt anyway. I'm not thrilled about breakfast foods, but this place open 24/7 and it has a wide variety to choose from. I got the Sante Fe skillet and was pleasantly surprised by it. A big thanks to our waiter Ricardo for being so attentive and accommodating to a group of 12 people. He constantly made sure we had everything we needed and refilled our water without us even asking.
