As much as I would have liked to give this place five stars, our experience was disappointing from the very beginning. We had reservations for 8:00 p.m. When we checked in, the hostess told us that the party at our table had until 8:30 p.m. to finish. This was never communicated to us beforehand which they said was noted they did, the hostesses were very nonchalant about the situation instead of offering a better solution. They eventually seated us, but it was all the way in the back of the restaurant where we had to ask for the candles and fire place to be lit Because of that, it took a while for our server to get to us, and our drinks took longer than expected to arrive. That said, our waitress was absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive, and the highlight of our visit. She provided excellent service despite the circumstances and definitely deserves five stars. As we were getting seated, the hostess asked if we had been informed that they were having issues with their roof and that their barbecue was out of service. We had not been told anything about this prior to arriving. As a result, the menu was extremely limited, with no steaks or burgers available. This was especially frustrating because those were the main reasons our group chose this restaurant. Had we been notified ahead of time, we would have appreciated the opportunity to decide whether we still wanted to dine there or make reservations elsewhere. To make matters even more disappointing, we were there celebrating my birthday. It seemed like the restaurant either forgot or there was a miscommunication, because the birthday dessert wasn't brought out until after we had already received the bill. It made the celebration feel like an afterthought, which was disappointing on what was supposed to be a special occasion. Overall, the service from our waitress was outstanding, but the lack of communication and poor handling of the situation by the host staff really impacted our experience. The fancy pizza was average (3 stars), chicken piccata was great (5 stars), while the appetizers were good (4 stars) and the wines by the glass were very overpriced coming from someone in the wine business. I came here for happy hour and views, and I was not disappointed. I think this is a great place for a happy hour dinner date before shopping around with your friends at the 2nd & PCH plaza. I got squash blossoms, two orders of spicy tuna, whipped ricotta with fresh pita, octopus, and a pizza. Everything was simple, but well done.  I enjoyed everything with a couple of cocktails, which were all delicious as well. I ordered the Gin Blossom, while my partner got a vodka-based drink along with a Long Island Iced Tea. The bartenders were friendly and welcoming, and the drinks were made well and tasted great. Celebrated a friend's birthday on Saturday. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Our party of three was seated in a comfortable booth. There are huge areas for large groups. Beautiful view but bring a jacket if you get cold easily. Cocktails were tasty and served promptly. Two of us shared the Crab Cobb Salad and the 3rd enjoyed all of the sea bass. We ordered fresh baked bread, truffle fries and duck fat hasbrowns. Everything tasted fresh. Cob salad is too large for one person (in my opinion). My friend loved the sea bass. Fries were average as were the has browns. My friend was giving ice cream for her birthday and we ordered the cornbread Madeline's. Our server was friendly and attentive. As soon as you step near the front there is a greeter awaiting to seat you. A good friend blessed me with dinner on her and have never been to A PCH. I have always visited Whole Foods Market downstairs but had no clue this beautiful restaurant existed. The first thing I saw was the beautiful full service bar, looks like it was stock with unlimited spirts and beverages. We sat in the rear portion of this restaurant with a comfortable accessible half circle booth that in the distance you can gaze outside to their outside seating. The server was bubblie and fun, very knowledgeable about every good, appetizers, beverages, or spirits we threw her way. To start we shared squash blossoms soft and delectable loved it and I ensured to douse my squash in the sauce that they swam in and it added the perfect complement to this dish. I selected the Japanese Wagu A5 and it was succulent jucicy with a slight sweetness it was truly heavenly loved it. My friend selected the Filet Mignon medium rare and she said it was cooked to perfection. In addition we shared the macaroni and cheese, whip potatoes potatoes, asparagus all delicious prepared with care. This place has top notch service. Food is perfectly made and the restaurant has nice ambiance. I've had the oysters and steaks (Ribeye) because I missed the pot pie day, and I wasn't disappointed, nice crust and buttery, melt in your mouth bites. My wife and I made it back for the pot pies and I would give it 4 of 5 stars, wish there was more filling, the crust was delicious and filling though. Flaky and croissant like. I had a meeting with my advisor, and he picked A's on PCH for our lunch meeting. Parking is complimentary for 90 minutes at the parking garage or complimentary street on the back side of business. The eatery has a nice interior, and we sat at a booth next to the bar. There's even a photo booth and is no charge for customers. Our cordial waiter who was bartending also waited on us and was gracious to not rush us since it was a business meeting and we dined for several hours. I opted for the skirt steak plate which included fingerling potatoes and broccolini. My steak was cooked to my request and the meal was satisfying. I went up to "A" to have an early dinner. It was nearing sunset, so I sat a a table near the windows overlooking the Marina. My boyfriend and I came here excited to have a nice dinner together, but our experience was completely ruined by our waitress, Elizabeth. From the moment we sat down, her attitude was rude and dismissive. She questioned my boyfriend's drink order after he had already told her what he wanted. Even after I told her I wasn't ordering an alcoholic drink, she still looked at both of us and asked, "Are you guys sure you're over 21?" The way she said it came across as condescending and unnecessary. After bringing our appetizer, she disappeared for a long time. We hadn't eaten all day and were starving, yet she repeatedly walked past our table to check on the tables around us without even acknowledging us. It made an already frustrating experience even worse. The food wasn't very good, but Elizabeth's attitude made it even worse. At one point, she asked my boyfriend if there was a problem. He calmly replied, "Yeah, and it's not the food." Instead of trying to understand or resolve the issue, she responded in a passive-aggressive tone, saying, "Then what is it, life?" Her comment was rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. It caught us off guard and made the situation even more uncomfortable. We left feeling completely disrespected and unwelcome. Whether we were being judged, profiled, or simply treated differently, that's exactly how the experience made us feel. No customer should be made to feel that way. If there were an option to give 0 stars, I absolutely would. Save your time and money and eat somewhere you'll be treated with respect. read more

We tried the spicy yellowfin tuna and it has a strong seafood flavor, I didn't feel any spicy flavor. The bbq carrots were good but it's an appetizer to share with at least 4 people. And the main dish, the ribeye was well cooked as we ordered medium, but in general every dish needed extra flavor, we added salt to everything so I would comeback and I would try the hamburgers and any other dish next time. My mom had reservations for 5 of us on a Tuesday at 11:30 (their opening). We were greeted very warmly by one of their hostesses and were told we were in very good hands with our waitress, Tammy. Everyone that served us, and especially Tammy was so kind! Tammy had such a cheerful and positive attitude. She was the best!     I got one of their appetizers as my main, which were the fish tacos. I believe the fish they use changes but on this day happened to be sea bass. There were thinner strips of fish fried in a light tempura batter. I prefer more whole pieces of fish for tacos but it was still good! On top there was a cabbage slaw, pickled onions, a chipotle aioli and a salsa verde on the side. These were great elements that added a freshness to cut through the carbs and fats. I'm also used to my taco tortillas being corn but again, still a great dish.     The mocktail of the day was a blackberry mint lemonade. It seemed a little watered down and could've used a bit more sugar but was pretty good. I also tried some truffle fries which were the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The truffle flavor was there but not overly strong. They were good especially for being thick cut. Our table also shared a slice of their French silk pie. The chocolate portion was a little more sweet and heavy than I'm used to for a French silk pie but it was good for a more rich dessert. The Oreo cream it came with was another sweet little addition.     Overall, the food was very well-presented and tasty. And our experience was that much better because of Tammy and the other team members, and even the free photobooth! read more

First time I've been to A PCH. Checked out their Happy Hour. They have seating inside and out; closed patio area with booths and tables. A nice marina view (some includes the parking lot) and luckily have shades to cut down the sun glare as its setting. Our server, Alexandria, was great. Her recommendations were spot on. We checked out the Steak Tartare first. It was a good presentation albeit I think a regular chicken egg too big. I prefer a quail egg and/or perhaps only the yolk of a chicken egg. I chopped up the egg and mixed it all in but in retrospect should have just added in the yolk. Think it could also use a bit of mustard, horseradish and/or capers to mix it. But served with 6 perfectly grilled baguette slices. Moved onto the Spicy Yellowfin Tuna (recommended) which is perched upon tempura eggplant slices. The wasabi tobiko that adorns the top was something I have never been exposed to and have been to Japan numerous times. These 5 little dollops were wonderful. Somewhat leary about "doing" a pizza but since recommended by Alexandria we ordered The Fancy Pizza and were delighted. A thin crust, light pesto/honey sauce, thin prosciutto, covered with fresh arugula and a nice dollop of burrata it was the perfect ending. A smart restaurant - and A is definitely in that category - has a well-trained staff and offers a wonderful Happy Hour menu that makes you want to come back for a full meal! I'll be back. read more
