I am very disappointed with my last visit (8/4/26). I made a reservation and we were seated immediately to start things off right. We came to celebrate a birthday and this restaurant was the choice of said birthday girl. The reservation process was easy. We were seated immediately. We decided to start with bottled water (Aqua Panna) but several felt it just tasted like tap water and didn't drink it. A waste of money. The restaurant was packed so slow service was to be expected. Our waitress took our order shortly after being seated. Starting with a Ceasar salad, which was the best thing we had all night. It was light and flavorful. 3 of us ordered the much anticipated pot pie as it's now served on Monday and Tuesdays. Sadly we were all disappointed. It completely lacked flavor! This was brought to the attention of our waitress, where I told her it was flavorless and asked for salt and pepper (S&P) to try and fix it. We did receive those items + hot sauce. After 3 rounds of adding S&P, my dish was "ok" enough to eat. I personally felt this could have been handled better, instead of pretty much blown off. 3 of 4 people unhappy with their meal and no sorry, no offer to replace the dish or bringing it the managers attention. 5 mins later she came back to see if the S&P made it better. No credit to the bill, offer for dessert, nada!! Just the full check brought to our table for payment. After our bill was paid, we saw the manager and called him over. After notifying him of how horrible the pot pie was, he did provide a gift card as an apology to the person in our party who got his attention since our bill was already paid. The card amount is approximately enough to cover 1 pot pie including tip and tax (with a small bit left over). I do appreciate he tried to make it right(ish), but 3 meals were horrible, not just 1. I did have a good first experience here and hope there is quality control measures put in place as food like what we ordered should have never left the kitchen. With so many wonderful higher end restaurants in town, it will be a while before I give this place another try. BTW, they do not validate, so parking on the street is ideal or be aware of the time limit for free structure parking.
We stopped by on Sunday afternoon. Perhaps due to the time, getting a table was easy, even as walk-ins. The available menu was the brunch menu. We started with appetizers: mussels ($23) and braised lamb belly ($25). For the main course, we ordered a ribeye steak ($69), Scottish salmon ($46), and "dirty pasta" ($36). Drinks included a glass of wine ($17) and a glass of Coke ($4.50). With tax ($23.15) and an "employee benefits" charge ($5.51), the total came to $249.16 before gratuity. The mussels are cooked in a broth of white wine, nduja sausage, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and parsley, with a toasted baguette served on the side. I liked the overall taste of the dish, but the mussels were small. The braised lamb belly was an interesting dish, as it was served with kimchi and thin sheets of daikon radish on the side. I assumed the idea was to make a "taco" by combining the three components. I liked it, though the lamb had bit of gaminess which might not appeal to everyone. The ribeye plate comes as steak only, with sides available à la carte. The steak was cooked nicely--juicy and flavorful, though I was a bit surprised by how rich it tasted. The "dirty pasta" features large rigatoni, ground duck, ricotta, and sauce. It was good, and the duck made for an interesting change from the usual beef. As a complete plated meal, I think the Scottish salmon was impressive--both for its visual presentation and the taste of the meal as a whole. The restaurant floor has a split-level design. Upon entering, you'll find a large oval bar surrounded by tables and booths. Step down a level, and there are seats offering views of the Long Beach marina. This area with a view is protected by windows--which is good, as the marine air is often cool and breezy. It seems that nearly all the establishments owned by this restaurant group have names starting with the letter or word "A." When searching online, use the words "a pch restaurant," as "a pch" alone is apparently too vague a search term. A final note to management: I was surprised to see a $5.51 charge for "employee benefit" on our bill. I playfully asked our server what benefits this covered, but they didn't know. They mentioned it could be removed if I objected, but I chose not to. My point is, if you're charging diners, shouldn't your staff be able to explain it? And if the line item can be so easily discharged, maybe you shouldn't be adding it in the first place.
Our first time at A PCH won't be our last. Visited for my husband's birthday dinner and got seated right against the glass patio wall. Within a few minutes, our drinks and started had been ordered (our starter was noted to take extra time). And by the time drinks arrived, we put in our entrees. Everything we ate and drank was outstanding. Beautifully plated and vibrant in color and flavor, it was a truly exceptional meal. And the drinks were very tasty. And dessert - delicious. Definitely plan to come back for a weekend brunch! One thing to note - restaurants at 2nd & PCH do not validate parking, and only the first 90 minutes are free.
I came here for happy hour and views, and I was not disappointed. I think this is a great place for a happy hour dinner date before shopping around with your friends at the 2nd & PCH plaza. I got squash blossoms, two orders of spicy tuna, whipped ricotta with fresh pita, octopus, and a pizza. Everything was simple, but well done. I enjoyed everything with a couple of cocktails, which were all delicious as well. A PCH is definitely on the pricier side, but it's super worth it during Happy Hour.
The covered patio with the view of the marina is so great! It's such a nice spot for a weekend brunch. I am happy you can make reservations, as I'm sure this place gets busy often. I went that a group of friends and we share a lot of the plates. The appetizer fish tacos and the cheese board were really good! And sparkling wine bottles were half off.
Everything was amazing yesterday!! you MUST try The whipped feta, the carrots and the chicken pot pie !
Friend and I came for lunch after a glowing review from a friend who loved their chicken pot pie which is only available Monday and Tuesday. They have a lunch menu that has an appetizer,main course and dessert. We both had the delicious Caesar salad. Hanger steak with fried was next. Fries were so yummy and steak had a lot of flavor and cooked perfectly. Marshmallow ice cream was last and the description on the menu didn't make me think it would be good. Wrong assumption. It was delicious with a caramel sauce. Service was excellent. Can't wait to try it again.
Back here for a second visit, but this time we stopped by just for the bar. Seating is first come, first served, and it was fairly packed on a Saturday evening, though we were still able to find two seats without too much trouble. The bar area itself looked great and felt spacious, making it a comfortable place to sit and unwind despite the crowd. I ordered the Gin Blossom, while my partner got a vodka-based drink along with a Long Island Iced Tea. The bartenders were friendly and welcoming, and the drinks were made well and tasted great. We only stopped in for a quick drink and snack, but overall, it was a solid and pretty standard experience at A PCH. A nice spot if you are looking for a casual drink in a good atmosphere.
Celebrated a friend's birthday on Saturday. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Our party of three was seated in a comfortable booth. There are huge areas for large groups. Beautiful view but bring a jacket if you get cold easily. Cocktails were tasty and served promptly. Two of us shared the Crab Cobb Salad and the 3rd enjoyed all of the sea bass. We ordered fresh baked bread, truffle fries and duck fat hasbrowns. Everything tasted fresh. Cob salad is too large for one person (in my opinion). My friend loved the sea bass. Fries were average as were the has browns. My friend was giving ice cream for her birthday and we ordered the cornbread Madeline's. Our server was friendly and attentive. She said she wasn't too familiar with working the brunch shift but she did a great job!
A's Restaurant has truly become our favorite place in Long Beach! We first came here in March to celebrate my promotion, and the experience was so amazing that my daughter and I have continued coming back ever since. I especially want to shout out Melissa, Justin, and Alberto. Their service is beyond exceptional, but it's how genuinely warm, personable, and welcoming they are that makes every visit so special. They always make my daughter and I feel like family, and that kind of hospitality is rare. The food is absolutely delicious, and the quality is consistently amazing, but even great food and quality are nothing without great service. Melissa, Justin, and Alberto truly complete the entire experience. We always leave feeling cared for, appreciated, and excited to return. We absolutely love A's and the wonderful people who make it feel like home. If I could give more than five stars, I would!
We're bar people. People watching and great service by Richard & Travis. Mussels are always delicious Pate is fresh The skirt steak was perfectly cooked, soft and juicy melt in your mouth. The chicken piccata love the capers. instead of potatoes, asked for pasta Love it here!
This place has top notch service. Food is perfectly made and the restaurant has nice ambiance. I've had the oysters and steaks (Ribeye) because I missed the pot pie day, and I wasn't disappointed, nice crust and buttery, melt in your mouth bites. My wife and I made it back for the pot pies and I would give it 4 of 5 stars, wish there was more filling, the crust was delicious and filling though. Flaky and croissant like. I had Old Fashion and my wife had wine. It's pricey but worth it, we will be back on a different date night.
Came back a second time and it was still as good as the first! Service is great! This time discovered a noteworthy dish, the chicken piccata (definitely upgrade to the pasta!). If I had one complaint, they need to clean the floors, maybe it was a busy day, but there were so much food debris on the floors.
Met a friend for lunch here - love the ambience, the view of the waterfront is lovely, lots of natural light coming through. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was tasty. I ordered the mussels and really enjoyed it; the sauce had a bit of a kick, lovely! read more
Beautiful place with an indoor/outdoor area, inside seating and bar tops to enjoy your meal. They have Happy Hour M-F 3-6pm and you can park across the street for free! Everytime I've gone, we got seated right away but in the evening there is a bit of a wait and they have a cute little waiting area with a fireplace. Everything was good but not amazing. The drinks were also good but again not fantastic but there are many MANY other things I'd like to try, they also have a brunch menu and I would love to try their caviar service! read more
First things first -- the water service deserves a Michelin star. You will not go two sips without a refill. Hydration? Secured. Now onto the food: the yellowfin tuna appetizer was a 10/10 twist on the usual crispy rice -- they serve it over crispy eggplant instead, and it absolutely works. Genius move. The rigatoni with duck and ricotta, however... good on paper, not so much in practice. The sauce was watery, and the ricotta looked suspiciously like shredded tofu. A creative miss. The charred broccolini and mac & cheese, though, totally redeemed things -- both were perfection. Service was great, vibes were coastal-chic with TVs for the game, and prices are what you'd expect for being right off the PCH. Big lot, but somehow still tricky parking (classic LA). Come thirsty, stay for the sides, and maybe skip the duck pasta. read more
We had a great time here. The place, ambiance is beautiful with a romantic vibe, comfortable seating, nice view and also the bar area is cozy and fun. We tried the spicy yellowfin tuna and it has a strong seafood flavor, I didn't feel any spicy flavor. The bbq carrots were good but it's an appetizer to share with at least 4 people. And the main dish, the ribeye was well cooked as we ordered medium, but in general every dish needed extra flavor, we added salt to everything so I would comeback and I would try the hamburgers and any other dish next time. It took about 30 min to have out main dish after they served the appetizers. The reason I will Come back is to enjoy the bar area and the hamburgers which looks delicious read more

My mom had reservations for 5 of us on a Tuesday at 11:30 (their opening). We were greeted very warmly by one of their hostesses and were told we were in very good hands with our waitress, Tammy. Everyone that served us, and especially Tammy was so kind! Tammy had such a cheerful and positive attitude. She was the best! I got one of their appetizers as my main, which were the fish tacos. I believe the fish they use changes but on this day happened to be sea bass. There were thinner strips of fish fried in a light tempura batter. I prefer more whole pieces of fish for tacos but it was still good! On top there was a cabbage slaw, pickled onions, a chipotle aioli and a salsa verde on the side. These were great elements that added a freshness to cut through the carbs and fats. I'm also used to my taco tortillas being corn but again, still a great dish. The mocktail of the day was a blackberry mint lemonade. It seemed a little watered down and could've used a bit more sugar but was pretty good. I also tried some truffle fries which were the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The truffle flavor was there but not overly strong. They were good especially for being thick cut. Our table also shared a slice of their French silk pie. The chocolate portion was a little more sweet and heavy than I'm used to for a French silk pie but it was good for a more rich dessert. The Oreo cream it came with was another sweet little addition. Overall, the food was very well-presented and tasty. And our experience was that much better because of Tammy and the other team members, and even the free photobooth! read more

Service was excellent, but I think the food was a little hit and miss. Hits: Dirty pasta, Fancy pizza, Meatballs, and Grilled cheese with tomato soup. Misses (not totally, just needed something extra for a pop of flavor): branzino - lacked flavor, maybe crispier skin would have helped and cacio e Pepe - lacked flavor. Could have used more cheese? Would we go back, absolutely! Final point. I would have loved to try the chicken pot pie. Wish I never saw on menu as just a Mon/Tues item. That's all I wanted after seeing it on the menu! Our family's favorite restaurant. This time we celebrated my mom's 60th birthday. Our server surprised us with a glass of prosecco each and even gave the baby pineapple juice so we can all cheers. We ordered fish tacos, seared tuna salad, dirty pasta, and fancy pizza. Everything was amazing. They also surprised my mom with a free scoop of ice cream with a candle for her birthday. read more

Brunch at A PCH is always great! Food, service, vibes, and views, doesn't get better! Sparkling wine bottles are half-priced for weekend brunch, great deal! We shared our dishes to enjoy more tastings! We ordered the Chicken Sandwich, served with House Made Chips, and the Salmon Benedict. Both were so excellent. We ordered the Schramsberg Mirabelle Rose sparkling and absolutely enjoyed it! Nicely accompanied our food! Service is always excellent. You never feel rushed and can relax and enjoy your meal. I recommend A PCH often, especially for out of town visitors. read more
I went on Valentine's Day and had such a lovely experience! They gave a rose to all the ladies, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the night. They were busy and wrong orders were brought to our table couple times. The fancy pizza was incredibly flavorful, and the cacio e pepe pasta was rich and yummy--though I do wish it came with a protein or vegetable option. The Gilded Lily cocktail was well-balanced and not too strong. The photobooth line moved quickly and was the perfect end to the evening. I will definitely be back for the affordable price, tasty food, and the nice view. read more

My wife and I had a really good dinner at A PCH. We were celebrating our anniversary and we had had this place on our queue to try. Our meal didn't disappoint. Cocktails were good, food was excellent, and service was friendly and welcoming. I had the branzino and my wife had salmon. We were both happy with our mains. The grilled broccolini was also tasty. I'd definitely come back again. It's a great place for drinks and cocktails,so maybe a happy hour would be nice to try! read more

I was taken here for my birthday and A PCH really made it a fun and memorable night! They were able to put my name on the menu for a personal touch and that definitely warmed my heart. Views. We dropped in with no reservation on a Thursday afternoon and were seated quickly. I didn't know why the host made a point of telling us they only had partial view seating until we got our table and a saw the view of the marina, gorgeous. Lucky for us it was happy hour. We ordered Squash Blossom, Fancy Pizza (Pesto, burrata, prosciutto, arugula, fresno honey, aged balsamic), "A" burger with truffle fries and another appetizer I can't remember the name of, but it was delicious as well. We didn't love the squash blossom. It kind of reminded me of baby food, mushy and a bit bland. The fancy pizza was so good. Our waiter was so lovely! I think his name was Albert. He made great suggestions and was super friendly. He even brought us a dessert when we told him we were from out of town. Next time, I'll make a reservation to take advantage of the view. read more

Beautiful view of the marina, nice decor, friendly staff, and great food/drinks. We were fortunate to have a great view and enjoy their happy hour Mon-Fri 4-6. Delicious cosmo and old fashion...and their appetizers were also really good. We enjoyed whipped feta with fresh pita, tuna yellowtail, and my son enjoyed the burger. My husband enjoyed sirloin steak, potatoes, veggies and I had pasta with chicken picatta . Steak was perfect and unfortunately my chicken was crisp and dry. This was our first time visit to celebrate my husband's birthday and everything was good! We will definitely come back to enjoy their happy hour at the bar and a nice place to celebrate a special occasion! read more
What an awesome culinary extravaganza. Met some colleagues here for a small event gathering. Very classy, wood tone accents, huge bar, table and booth seating. Located across the street from the Marina. If you like vodka, try the Vibe Check (Ketel One with cucumber and mint) and Prar'd Up (Grey Goose, St Germaine). Both very good and refreshing cocktails. We ordered several appetizers but a couple of my favorites are the Whipped Feta, the Meatballs and a stuffed artichoke. All three were so delicious . For the main, I had the Scottish salmon, blackened with Mexican hash in a creamy light cilantro sauce. The hosted and servers made sure we were taken care of, checking in on us. Went back here to watch the football game and had a great time. This time we sat at the bar. We ordered oysters, drinks, and fries--everything hit the spot. It was especially nice that it wasn't crowded, which made it even more enjoyable. They also have a fun photo booth where you can take pictures, plus additional tables overlooking the marina, which was a really nice touch. read more

I came in on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. Despite not having a reservation, we were quickly seated. The hostess did ask if we were okay sitting by the window, indicating that it was quite sunny, which I was okay with. It was, however, very bright and was definitely hot under the sun (but that's on me for not realizing how bright it would be). The interior of the restaurant gives off old classic steakhouse vibes and is definitely a vibey date spot. We ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer. The cocktail was an apple flavored seasonal drink. It was well crafted and the flavors were well balanced. My friend ordered an Americano, but said that he should've just gotten an espresso martini instead. The beef tartare was a substantial portion and was a sizeable portion for an appetizer. It was fresh and was some of the best beef tartare I've had yet. The service was friendly, as stated above, and the waiters constantly came around with water. Food came out quickly as well. The next time I come for a drink, I think I might just have to check out the bar. read more

Our service wasn't as expected for a special occasion night but the view was wonderful from the patio area. We came for dinner but in hindsight, I would suggest going for only appetizers and drinks. I had such an amazing experience last time at A PCH that we went back today for lunch. I ordered the Lobster Cobb salad and it was delicious! The lobster and all the ingredients tasted fresh. The white balsamic dressing was absolutely tasty. This has got to be my favorite Cobb salad. Service was excellent, our waiter was great. He was friendly, tentative, and professional. Ambiance is nice, we sat in the outside patio area so that we can eat and enjoy the marina views. read more

Came late on July 3 and they were booked solid. The GM Ryan took down my number and directly texted me and said a check back in about 30 minutes. I came back and he worked as magic and helped my family with a beautiful table with a great view of the firework show. The food here I was skeptical of, however once the first appetizer came out, I knew we were in for a great meal. Duck pate, great, pita with whipped feta amazing, meatballs were OK, and we also ordered the truffle fries as a starter, which was amazing. Their fries here are double fried, which gives it a very nice crisp on the exterior and a soft fluffy interior. The sourdough bread here is perfect and I probably way too many slices. Lastly for entrées, I got the burger, which could've been a little bit juicier, but it was very flavorful. The rigatoni was absolutely amazing and was told that the pasta is homemade. We also tried the lobster cob which was nice pretty standard. And lastly, we got the tomato soup and grilled cheese which was elevated but nothing extra extraordinary. All in all I thought the food here is very good and the service is great. read more

Ambiance- Casual, cozy. Beautiful inside and out. Clean and plenty of space between each table for privacy and good times. Service- EXCELLENT. From start to finish! Friendly, attentive, and good energy! Food- Great! We tried the squash blossoms, duck liver pate, fish tacos, fancy pizza, and spicy yellowfin tuna. I would order them all again, except for the squash blossoms. It just wasn't something I liked however my friend loved it. We also ordered drinks, and recieved a complimentary birthday dessert. PSA: Free photobooth of good quality! It prints out two strips, and it also emails the photo to you. After you snap a pose, if you don't like it, you can retake the photo. There's a black & white option, and a color option. Everything today was absolutely perfect and left quite an impression on us. I wish I remembered the name of our waitress. read more
A hidden gem for sure! A wonderful option for an afternoon lunch overlooking the marina in Long Beach. Our server was very good at explaining everything on the menu and all items we ordered were superb. Highly recommended the Ahi Salad and the Spicy Yellowfin Tuna! read more

I only have one gripe. And it's not worth missing a star. I'll explain at the end. I gave 5 stars because the service and all deserved it. This place is elegant and boss vibes. From the water, to the check ins.... This place stands in line as one of the best. Sam waited on us first. And Delia waited on us second. And Teddy brought water and cleaned up our table with Sam. Teddy was on point. Never left a dirty dish waiting. Refilled our waters quick. Sam was beyond attentive and helpful. She was sweet and on point with everything we ordered. She didn't rush us and gave us recommendations as well that were great. Delia was just as great. A PCH has great servers. Nothing is left hanging. Such great precise. Delia was patient and so friendly. She even read my mind when I couldn't get the words out of what I wanted. I cannot say enough great things about Sam, Teddy and Delia. Thank you all for a great experience. A PCH has delectable libations. I won't order the Leilani anymore lol. It was VERY STRONG. Let's just say it takes me 7 vodka drinks (even if it's a lemon drop) and one Leilani had me lost lol. The Pear'd Up was the best for me. I had an issue with a charge that was not recognizable. Called in on Monday and was helped immediately. The call dropped, they found my number and called me right away. The charge was valid and an up charge for truffle fries for my sister. I appreciated how thorough everyone is here. The place is very clean. Great views even from behind the bar. Fun people sitting everywhere. They have a Photo Booth that is awesome as well. Pricing is very standard for these days. Happy Hour was great. $4 off the cocktail drinks. Restrooms are shared (unisex). I liked that idea. I didn't mind at all. Restrooms were clean. Place has a speakeasy vibe. The squash blossoms were yummy. I try them everywhere I go. I also order the hubby and daughter the Spicy Yellowtail tuna. They loved it. My sister ordered the Crispy Chicken sandwich with truffle fries. We had two reservations. The first reservation was at 4:30pm (Sam) for apps and drinks. The birthday girl was late but no worries because we also had dinner reservations at the same place at 6:30pm (Delia). The birthday menu was such a great and personal touch. I've only experienced that at Ruth Chris. Parking in the structure is about $6 . The restaurant itself was a bit hard to find. We have been to this area a lot but did not know A PCH was in here. We came to celebrate my sister's birthday. No one came to sing happy birthday or offer a complimentary dessert for her. I'm pretty bummed about that. We will definitely be back but I won't be back to celebrate birthdays here. I did see that it is offered. But somehow my sister was missed. I know she is bummed about this. I am too. I told her I'd take her somewhere else for dessert and a birthday song to make it up to her. read more
