I don't know why this place only has 3 stars, it definitely deserves more than that. Some people complain about the long wait and how you lose your turn and have to be at the bottom of the waiting list if they call your name and you're not physically present---well, I tell those people to stop whining like a little bitch and instead come at an off hour AKA after 2pm for lunch and after 9pm for dinner! First, I'll start with the non-food related attributes. You can get validated parking in the Uwajimaya parking lot for 2 hours if you think you can finish your meal within that time. Also, this new location is more spacious than the Bellevue one, so you don't have to worry about being in a steamed room--that's pretty much how it's like at the Bellevue location. For those of you who still have your hot pot V-card, how this place works is that you get your own mini-hot pot that comes equipped with all the goodies, so you don't have to put anything else into the pot unless you order some add-ons. I've literally tried all the hot pots available there, and here are a list of my favorites: 1) House Special --- it has the stinky tofu inside, so order at your own risk. Also, stinky tofu that is the soup version is stinkier than the fried stuff, just FYI. I love it! 2) Seafood --- what can I say? I love seafood, and if you love it too, this is a must-try! 3) Japanese Miso --- light flavored but comes in the larger size, similar to the Taiwanese Spicy and Thai flavored one. 4) Taiwanese Spicy --- as stated above, this also comes in the larger size. I don't usually get this because it only comes in one level of spiciness: FLAMING HOT. Taiwanese mala is usually less spicier than its mainland Szechuanese counterpart, but for some reason this one can give you fiery diarrhea the next morning if your body is not used to such spicy hotpots. Thus, order at your own risk! 5) Thai Flavor --- has some tom yum flavor. Not bad. The ones I don't really like/order are the Kimchi and Tomato&Veggie---the former because the kimchi gets watered down into cabbage, so in the end you just get cabbage on top of cabbage, and the latter because I'm not a vegetarian. I'm a steakatarian. If you come here for lunch, your mini-hotpot and rice comes with either an iced black or green tea. And also, the bubble teas are SURPRISINGLY GOOD here! I like the Old-Fashioned Bubble Tea (gu zhau) and the Hokkaido Milk Tea. Apparently, this place has become even more creative and thought of ice cream macaroons, so I will try that next time. I've had their fruit snows (sueh hwa bing), which is a finer shaved version of shaved ice with fruits and condensed milk added. In addition, I'm a big fan of getting the instant noodle add-on when I come here. They have that, udon, and other more traditional noodles but one time I went and asked for a traditional noodle they did not have it. My conclusion, therefore, is that those noodles are never in stock because people usually just get the instant noodle and udon. Other popular add-ons are the stinky ass tofu (if you didn't get the House Special) and the Taiwanese fried tempura. Finally, if you are a BP whore like me, you can get a punch card for both the hotpots and the drinks. Just ask for one when you pay. read more

This was my first time eating at Boiling Point during a visit to Seattle. Our group of 8 had to wait 45 minutes before a big table opened up. My friends recommended the Taiwanese spicy hot pot if we could handle the heat. Based on previous yelp reviews, I steered away. I ended up getting the Japanese miso and my boyfriend got the beef hot pot. We wanted to try the Hokkaido milk tea but they were all out (Fear not, we came back a second time and got to try it!) They have you sanitize your hands before seating you and before covid this place used to get really crowded and packed but now i kind of love how there are empty table space between you/your party and other customers which makes you feel comfortable and at ease while eating. While visiting, my friend had mentioned going to Boiling Point. The place sounded familiar but I didn't know why. When my friend started to explain the concept, I was sold. I love hot pot! And what was even better, you get your own individual portion. We got there right when they opened. Good thing we did. They fill up quickly. I think 15-20 minutes after open, they were already on a wait. The place must be good right? I ordered the Japanese miso. It sounded really good. Since it was lunch time, you also get a free drink,you get a pick of black or green tea. I went with the green tea, it was a little too sweet for my liking. We also got an order of the spicy fermented tofu. I was skeptical only because I am a very picky eater. But I told my friend I would try it. And it was very flavorful. I've never been a huge fan of Boiling Point because I usually prefer other hot pot places. I get that people like their own personal hot pot, but it feels homier when it's shared family style. Service here was extremely slow during lunch on a weekday. It wasn't even that full, so I'm not sure what happened. We had to flag our server down to order and bring us iced teas. They didn't bring us the teas until we were done with the meal, unfortunately. The location and parking situation is definitely much more favorable than the Bellevue location, so it was smart of them to open up in the ID. I had the Japanese style hot pot which was HUGE! Next you choose between rice or vermicelli. Each set also comes with hot or cold green or black tea. If you're not a fan of sweet tea, make sure you let them know you don't want it too sweet. Its nice that they will validate parking in the parking lot though. I'd recommend against the thai item, the lamb/beef are good, but the korean bean paste soup is quite amazing. Additionally, if you want service, dont feel bad to flag down one of the servers. Upon going here, there was free two hour validated parking in the parking garage. We went early so there was no wait for us! Yay us! I got the Lamb soup and oh my god, was there a lot of the mustard cabbage thing. Personally, I really like it but I would have preferred another vegetable if there was going to be so much. I was literally drowning in the cabbage but it's a good thing I like it! As for the whole pot itself, it's so cool that you get your own pot and you don't have to share. I ordered the seafood and tofu pot with medium spice and the broth mostly just tasted like the lettuce they piled on. I consulted with my other friends who agreed that the broth was mostly bland. I had to supplement it with the sauces they offered on the side. Otherwise, the quality of the food products they put in their broth wasn't too bad. I was kind of annoyed that my pork slices were all lumped together tho. I know it's frozen, but it would have been nice if they separated it so I'm not bitting into a big chunk of meat. We also ordered the holy cow appetizer, which consists of beef shank, tendon, and tripe, and it was super good! It's a must try and the flavor profile was on point. I love boiling point. The Chinatown location is my favorite. I feel like it's the biggest one. With Covid they have taken away the sauces at the table for self service. Instead they bring you large sauce cups and you can ask for more as much as you want. My favorite is the soy garlic with chili oil. I love ordering a mild/ medium beef with rice, add quail eggs. Kind of expensive for 6 quail eggs though. Also I'm a spicy lover but sometimes medium can be too hot. Their strawberry lemon soda is so refreshing. This is definitely my go to restaurant! I come to the Seattle location almost every week as a regular customer with my friend after working along day at the hospital. Their customer service can be alittle better. Not very pleasant when they greet their customers they can work on their professionalism. Always have to flag them down to order even when you give them the eye and they see you. Today, we tried to redeem the free curry that is advertised in their app and the person checking us out told us that we couldn't redeem that it was a one table can redeem. First hot pot I've tried! It was tasty. The service was nice, but I definitely felt a little rushed coming in around 5:30 on a Tuesday.

I had a night out with friends for Valentine's Day (a group of 6). We planned to have dinner around 7pm but they don't take reservation, so a number of us went in around 6:30pm to make check in using the kiosk in the front and selecting the text option. Hung out in Uwajimaya receiving a text saying our table was next. Waited another 10min for there and sat around 7:05pm. Server was very nice and our food came very quick. It was my first time, so I'm lucky I had friends who've been here to walk me through the process. Without them, I'm pretty I'd be confused. For each hot pot, you choose your spiciness level out of 5 and a side of either rice or vermicelli noodles. After getting your bowl, wait for them to light the hot pot fire. When you think your hot pot reached its boiling point (pun intended) then you call a server to turn off your fire. I ordered Seafood & Tofu with medium spice. Could not taste any spice whatsoever and very bland, but when I added some chili oil and bean curd paste on the table, it instantly became flavorful and enjoyable. Seafood still had shells on them so had to wait for my soup to cool down to peel. Clams had a lot of sand so biting into them was unpleasant. Overall, a little overpriced for the amount they give, but still a good first experience and will probably come again to try other flavors (without seafood). read more

Always heat it again in the office to be as close to fire temperature as possible! Call in ahead of time. Seems to be prepared in about 20-30 mins. Dine in experience: best for the constant fire! Or request to turn off the fire according to your preference. At the end you also get a shot of lemonade and basil seed mixture (surprisingly tasty and very refreshing). Tip: you can ask for another one. They do change their soups from time to time and there are also seasonal pots. Currently my favorite is the Thai tomato (spicy). The Japanese Miso is delicious, and HUGE! I do wish there was an option to get a smaller portion of this particular dish. I will say this: I have NO idea how people eat their bowls with the flame still going. I don't know if it's for pride or a sense of accomplishment, but I have no shame in being the first at my table to flag the waitress down and ask her to put my flames out! I like having taste buds after I leave! If you come earlier in the day, you get the Lunch Special which includes a bowl of rice and a tea drink. We come here whenever we have family visiting from HI and CA, birthdays, graduations and promotions. We've probably spent up to $2,000 minimum over the years here as customers. I'm never coming back again. I know the employee I saw today at 5:15pm does not care, and she does not care what attitude she represents the establishment with. I am 9 months pregnant due in 2 weeks. BP is definitely a must-try in the international district! I've been here countless times and have always enjoyed my experience. The lines are always endless. You can sacrifice someone to get there early and get in line with a phone number, but the whole party has to be there to be seated. I've tried most of the pot combos and liked them all! The choice is difficult every time because all the ingredients are pre-determined and there will be things that you want and things you don't like in every pot. I wish the add-ons weren't so expensive (about 5$ for each protein). The soup and especially the sauces are super tasty. The small pot is usually enough for me, however I have finished a large pot by myself once when I haven eaten for 24h... The main reason why I'm giving this amazing food a 4-star is the not so pleasant bathroom trips after this meal, especially the Taiwanese spicy... It's been a while since my last 1-star review, but the staff at Boiling Point worked hard to earn this one so I must oblige. My party of 3 arrived at 9:15 and there was a small queue of about 7 people ahead. 6-7 minutes later they started seating the patrons ahead, until they got to us. We were promptly informed that they were out of seats, and the kitchen was closing at 9:30. Notwithstanding the fact that it was still 9:23, what kind of business closes their kitchen one and a half hours before closing time? To add to this, I spotted at least 6 tables in the back that were unoccupied. When I mentioned the time and asked about the open tables, the staff claimed that particular section was closed, while ignoring my comment about the time. Having tried their food before and seen the long lines (which is why I always come before 4 or after 9), there's no denying that Boiling Point is a popular chain. However, the service always leaves much to be desired. Their apathetic staff is no surprise why almost all their locations hover around a 3 star rating. Shame. read more

Boiling Point is a hot pot classic. They serve many different flavors of personal mini hot pots, and they're all so yummy! Each pot has a different base broth and are filled with a variety of toppings such as beef, lamb, seafood, tofu, and lots of veggies. There are two sizes and only certain flavors are available in Large and large only (Taiwanese Spicy, Japanese Miso, and Thai Fusion). My absolute favs are Japanese Miso, Beef, and Seafood and Tofu. I would also HIGHLY recommend the Taiwanese Spicy, I've only gotten it once and the heat is too much for me, but the flavor is on point for any brave souls. Also be sure to order one of their milk teas. The Hokkaido and Milk Green tea are top notch. It's generally pretty busy, but they have a neat little check in system that will let you know how many groups are in front of you and will text notify you when you're table is ready, so feel free to roam around the plaza if the wait is long. There are locations all over Seattle, but this is the one I frequent the most due to its central location in ID. Parking is validated for the Uwajimaya lot, so don't forget to ask when you pay the bill! read more

UPDATE: They've improved their seating. Much better now. I go here often with my buddies. We understand the demand for this place, and every time we go, usually a party of 5 or more, there is a long wait. Got it, no problem. The issue is when the hostess told us they would text us when our table is up, then went ahead and give it away before we even got the text. The text even read "your table is getting ready soon." It didn't say "your table is ready, get there now or lose it." It took us 3 minutes from receiving the text to talking to the hostess, and in those 3 minutes she gave away our table. Absolutely ridiculous. I don't blame the workers, but the lack of warnings and the terrible system that they use to seat people and then screw them over. If management is reading this, do something about it. read more

We had some friends in town from Texas and they had this place in mind for dinner. Me and my boyfriend figured that we would join too because we enjoy hot pot. The serving sizes are on the large side and can be shared among 2 people. We ordered the Korean Bean Paste hot pot. It came with tons of vegetables, meat, noodles, and rice.
