ROTATING SPECIAL: *(Share between 2 people!!!) Filipino Pork Shank Kare-Kare w/ Garlic Rice = $40 (Add a small side of Lumpia Bihon +$5)
    Vicki S.

Don't be fooled by the name S/T Hooligan's! Although they serve great bar food in proper Hooligan fashion, the owner has roots in the Philippines and some of the dishes served here pays homage to Filipino food. I was lucky enough to eat here last night for dinner where their popular Filipino Pork Shank Kare-Kare w/ Garlic Rice was available to order as their rotating special menu item. It's large enough to split with another person so we did that and also paid extra to add a few pieces of their yummy Lumpia Bihon. We also ordered a plate of Caribbean Jerk Chicken Wings. You bet we were feasting. I was in food heaven!!! What an awesome way to start the week and to know that I can get a little Filipino food fix on at this wonderful small business establishment. Thank you for the warm and welcoming hospitality. I'll definitely be back! :-)

I heard this place to be one of Seattle's underrated spots so had to come try out their menu for brunch. Walking in and quickly greeted (I was the first customer of the day though). The owner Rodel came to explain the expansive menu with Southern/Creole, Guam, and Hawaii inspired flavors. The bar menu is awesome too with housemade brews (guessing kombucha). We ordered their lumpia, southern combo, fried chicken & cornbread waffles, and gumbo loco. The fried chicken here is phenomenal even the breast piece was juicy. Everything was delicious, flavorful, and well cooked. Definitely want to come back to try the rest of the menu. For dessert, we tried their tiramisu and seasonal bread pudding. Highly recommend getting both! I'm curious how it is during the summer for their patio space.

I have always skipped over this place because for some reason my brain assumed it was an Irish pub based on the name... Well I was totally missing out! This is a new favorite. Love the fried chicken, brussel sprouts with aoli are crazy good, hushpuppies ...deeelicious! Chicken and cornbread waffle...mashed potatoes...coleslaw...mac salad. This guy knows how to dial in really good tasting food. We've gone two weeks in a row since our first visit and highly recommend if you have not been there. . And the name comes from a Smiths song...not my rowdy Irish peeps.

We stopped by on our first night in town. The restaurant had a few patrons dining, offering a lot of open seating. We selected our seats and placed an order at the bar. The menu was pretty varied, but apparently they are known for their fried chicken. Of course I didn't order their chicken. I ordered a burrito and fries. My fella ordered a chicken sandwich. The fries were delicious. They were loaded with rosemary which I looked, but my fella thought was a bit much. The chicken sandwich was loaded with goodies, and honestly, I'm not even sure what was in it, but it was delicious. The burrito was giant and immediately fell apart. This was okay because the bean and rice filling was yummy. The salsas and sauces were amazing. Everything was really good and the staff were super friendly.

Stopped by for dinner with two friends on a Monday. We opted for outdoor seating on patio. Indoor seating was barstools in a typical bar setting. Staff was no frills - neutral, but attentive. Since it was Monday, there was a $10 marg special, but unfortunately no HH food specials :( However, the HH food deals looked very good! Monday ($10 margs) 4-9pm Tuesday (food + drink) 4-9pm Wednesday - Sunday (food + drink) 1-6pm Thursday (drinks) 6-9pm We ordered the jalapeno hush puppies, fried chicken and waffles, jambalaya, and a few beers/margs. Everything was amaaaazing - hush puppies fried balls of deliciousness (great sweetness from honey). Fried chicken was sooo good - crispy, flavorful, and juicy. Waffle was fine, but helped with cutting the richness of the fried chicken - not mandatory, but complementary! Jambalaya was good, but patches of dry rice, but very well-seasoned. Overall, delicious meal, and wouldn't hesitate to come back (especially for happy hour) !

Stopped by after a winning Mariners game just in time for Happy Hour. we always get the Lumpia cause it's delicious comes out hot and it's a generous serving. We tried a couple of items we hadn't tried before the Cajun Mussels and the Roasted Adobo Pork Sandwich. Both were delicious but we especially enjoyed the mussels broth and were thankful for the thick pieces of toasted bread to dip in the sauce. Staff and the fermented cocktails are always great! Rodel makes you feel so welcome.

Had a long day and wanted something flavorful for dinner. Plenty of parking in their lot, staff was quick to seat us, and great service. We brought our dog and sat outside! You do have to go inside an order but server takes care of everything else. Ordered lumpia, gumbo, and hush puppies first but then decided to order their fried chicken as well and glad that we did. Lumpia was very good with both sauces. Hush puppies were a little sweet but very crunchy and inside was moist. Gumbo was probably my least favorite but I usually like seafood gumbo more than chicken and sausage! Fried chicken was very good, crunchy, juicy inside, flavorful, and the sides were very good as well. Helped balance out everything.

S/T Hooligans is a household favorite! S/T rates superb for amazing customer service, atmosphere/location, menu selections, and quality/taste of food! My husband and I ordered a variety of items based off of Yelp reviews, and EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT! Who would have thought adding golden raisins in Brussel sprouts, and orange zest in jalapeño hush puppies would just work; making those tastebuds dance. My son loves the cornbread waffle and mac salad. The parking lot is directly beside the restaurant, and if you don't want to sit outside (each table has a fire pit) and have children you can go to play arcade games. We will definitely return, and highly recommend!

Amazing! This totally hit the spot after walking the zoo with our little one. We had the gumbo cup, chicken and waffles, margaritas, and bread pudding. My foodie tail is wagging! Feeling all the feels!

We had the surf & turf jambalaya and the fried chicken, everything looked great but lacked a little flavor. Jambalaya was a little oily for my preference, was a little disappointed with the fried chicken as it claims to be the best fried chicken in the area.. but it didn't really have any taste. The Fries were good though! Would come back but maybe try something else on the menu.

Delicious food but confusing service experience. Food. Chicken sandwich was great with huge piece of pork belly. Mussels very savory and loved the bread pudding. But the service is confusing, it's all bar service which is hard when sitting down, and to ask follow up questions

Super delicious southern / creole food!! We enjoyed all the food we got and I'm really glad we finally tried this place. We got the fried chicken and waffles, side of gumbo, and surf and turf jambalaya (which was a special). All the dishes were so tasty! The gumbo was really flavorful and perfectly spiced. The surf and turf jambalaya had perfectly cooked pork chop and Cajun shrimp, although I did feel like this dish overall was a little too salty. And the fried chicken and waffles - this was my favorite dish!! The fried chicken was super crispy and flavorful, and the waffle had the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. I'd highly recommend trying S/T Hooligans, and especially get the fried chicken and waffles and the gumbo! I did feel like the dishes were a little overpriced, but still really enjoyed the food. Can't wait to be back to try other dishes!

This place is great!! The food is delicious. There's not a lot of Cajun/creole places around here. Drinks are good, and service is quick. The back patio is great but it is also dog-friendly inside. I love their brunch, but their dinner is good too!

The place is decorated in a fairly elegant and old school manner, so you are somewhat transported away from the outside reality. We got the Tobe's Thique Mint and Garden Party. I loved the creaminess and cinnamon afternotes of Tobe's Thique Mint, and it also looks somewhat pretty. It is quite a heavy drink, so one was enough to fill me up. The Garden Party was a bit of a miss since as much as I tasted the orange and grapefruit, it was a very light drink and tasted a little watered down. The biggest plus is that the drinks are fairly affordable compared to the greater Seattle area, priced at $14. I liked how their menu says 14 for $14, as they have just 14 cocktails to choose from and the drinks seem to rotate seasonally. For us, we went just in time to still have the spring menu, but they will change to the summer menu on June 20.

We ordered munchies and drinks while we waited for our table at Delancey. The bartender / server knew we would be headed to Delancey in 40 minutes or so, and handled things well accordingly. We got a plate of olives (tasty, great finger food) and drinks. The Yonder cider was good, not too sweet. The Martini was tasty. I had two quibbles: The first was with the pricing: the martini was charged as two separate items: 1) gin (I suppose the charge varies by the kind of gin or vodka in your martini) 2) martini (which is apparently the non-vodka or or non-gin part of your drink) While I'm sure this makes it easier to track for the bartender and inventory, as well as for charging, as a customer, it's a little odd to have a mixed drink be a two-part charge. The second was the included 20% automatic gratuity. I don't object to the concept of a standard service charge, I just wish it had been more prominently displayed so that I wouldn't have added a 20% tip on top of that (and my tip was on the amount that included tax, service charge and drinks / food). So, buyer beware ... the service is good, the ambiance is nice, the food and drinks are good -- but the payment / billing is non-standard, and can cause unexpected surprises.

Anyway, my expectations were likely too high going in, and I was annoyed before even ordering, turning on our cellphone light to read the menu. The food is pretty good, though not mind-blowing good like the reviews suggest, and we had one bad dish. They offer varied Khmer dishes beyond noodle varieties, which is a plus. Luckily, by this time of the meal, we have acquired the little table lamp, which enabled me to see the long fish bones that had not been removed. FIVE of them. The noodles are a pathetic overcooked limp pile. The best part is the turmeric sauce. Do not order this dish. Epilogue: I happened to walk by Sophon this past weekend. I was surprised to see a sign saying they are temporarily closed to resolve internal issues. (See photo) That is never a good reflection of management. A sense of playfulness is present in everything we do, from the inventive dishes our culinary team prepares, to the friendly, genuine hospitality we provide. We're a bistro that takes pride in being a neighborhood place - the kind you can escape to at day's end for a delicious meal shared among friends." Ambiance: "Located in the former Le Gourmand space in beautiful Ballard, Brimmer & Heeltap offers an intimate, cozy atmosphere complete with an open kitchen, full bar, and multiple sections to drink and dine in. Our garden patio is one of the best-kept secrets in the city, offering a dreamy place to dine outdoors during Seattle's spring and summer months. We also have a tucked-away back studio that offers the perfect setting for special, private gatherings year-round. Just how many pennies does it take to cover a floor? Just ask Brimmer & Heeltap's proprietress Jen who collected tens of thousands of them from family, friends, and the community to help execute the vision of a cool gathering placed dubbed, naturally, the "Penny Room." This dining room, beloved for both its wall of menus and its shining penny floor, is a favorite place to break bread with loved ones, and plays into the restaurant's blend of nostalgic and contemporary design. The restaurant was designed in collaboration with Sean Sifagaloa of KRFTWRK and local builder Mike Marian, owner of Marian Built. Light, texture, metal, wood, and floral elements are all at play here. This historic building possesses a playful, familiar charm that we wanted to preserve in its latest incarnation." What I ordered: Wishing to sample a little of everything, we were served, family style, two orders of Bread ($9 each) - buttered with salt and pepper; Fritto Misto ($12) - assorted, lightly fried and pickled vegetables with tarragon aioli; Smashed Burrata ($19) - snap peas, preserved lemon, mint, basil, sherry reduction; Carrot & Tahini Dip ($16) - caramelized garlic, feta, pistachio, crudite; two orders of Heirloom Tomatoes ($21 each) - melon, chevre, crispy quino, soft herbs; Crispy Potatoes ($16) - whipped feta, hot honey, mint; Mushroom Agnolotti ($34) - roasted maitakes, chanterelles, whipped ricotta, miso butter, thyme; Roast Chicken ($42) - chickpea, berbere yogurt, marinated cucumber, mint gremolata. To finish off our meals, we shared the Olive Oil Cake ($14) - basil yogurt cremeux, strawberry gel, and the Chocolate Tiramisu ($16) - mascarpone, rum, amaretto, candied hazelnuts. What I loved: Oh man, every dish was delightful. I found something to savor and repeat in each of the dishes we were served. From the sweetness of the heirloom tomatoes, to the creamy burrata, from the crispy potatoes, to the fresh peas and everything in between. Our least favorite, at the table was the mushroom Angnolotti, inconsistent from bite to bite. The presentation of the Carrot & Tahini dip was a bit haphazard compared to the rest of the dishes served, but the flavor was still lovely. Why I loved it: The service was unparalleled, comfortable yet professional and quick to offer recommendations for our larger party. The decorations and quaint spaces truly welcoming, and the food, excellent. Cost: High ($40+ per person)
