Celebrated my birthday at La Loba last week and had a great experience overall. One thing I really appreciated was how easy it was to book a reservation for 10 people through Resy. The ambiance was cute and lively, and we were seated right next to the live band, which added a nice touch to the evening without being overwhelming. Since we had a larger group, we decided to order family-style so everyone could try a little bit of everything. We ordered the scallop crudo, oysters, 30-day dry-aged strip loin carpaccio, tartare, pan con tomate, patatas bravas, octopus al olivo, gnocchi con setas, rigatoni cacio e pepe, pan-roasted black cod, double ranch braised beef cheek, and tiramisu. The scallop crudo had a really nice Thai coconut flavor that I enjoyed, but the scallops themselves were quite small and I found myself wishing there was more of it. The oysters were a crowd-pleaser as always--fresh and delicious with no complaints there. The standout dish of the night was the 30-day dry-aged strip loin carpaccio. It was an absolute flavor bomb, and the presentation was unique, interactive, and fun. The tartare was decent, though I expected a bit more flavor. That said, the tableside preparation made it an enjoyable experience. I would probably pass on the pan con tomate next time. The tomatoes lacked depth of flavor and could have used a touch more salt. The patatas bravas were good--essentially one giant, crispy fry that was fun to share. The octopus was tender and flavorful, and definitely one of the stronger dishes. Both pasta dishes were good but not particularly memorable. The pan-roasted black cod paired nicely with the kimchi, and the braised beef cheek ended up being our table's favorite entrée. It was rich, tender, and packed with flavor. We finished with the tiramisu, which was a nice ending to the meal. Overall, La Loba is a cute special occasion or date night spot with a fun atmosphere and a few standout dishes. I'm happy I chose it for my birthday and enjoyed the experience, but I think I'd be more inclined to return if there were seasonal menu changes or rotating specials. tldr: decent food, terrible treatment by front of house. Spend your money elsewhere. Our server was fantastic and the food is pretty good (although overpriced for such small portions). The issue we dealt with was with the treatment we received from the front of house. We had a res for 7:30, arrived 5 minutes early, and were finally seated at 7:45. When we were walking to our table, the hostess told us that they were busy and would need the table back at 9:30pm, which is annoying since they didn't even seat us on time. As soon as we finished our mains (around 9:10pm), we were told we had to move to the bar outside for dessert. We were the only group escorted to the bar outside - like actually the only people outside. The 2 people at the table next to us were finished eating and paid their bill well before 9:10 but they weren't asked to give up their table. Not really sure what the deal is with this place or why we received worse treatment. The food was quite good, however, the service and environment were borderline unbearable. On the positive side: the 3 stars I am giving are entirely for the quality of the cooking and ingredients, which was strong. We enjoyed the appetizers and entrees (the only one not pictured in this review is the Patatas Bravas - a pave potato twist on the classic dish; crisp-tender and delicious). I did think that the iberico toast was overpriced for what you receive: it's $32 for 2 pieces. If you have more than two people dining, you're spending $64 for 4 modest pieces of tomato toast with a few slivers of ham on top. The standout for the entrees was the black cod - the skin was perfectly crispy, while the flesh was succulent. On to the negatives: we declined dessert due to the persistent noise (with the thumping music and the shouting diners, you feel like you're in the club, not in a fine dining establishment), and the lackadaisical attitude of our server, Skylar. His "service" was dismissive after we declined the tasting menu option at the beginning of the meal (even though we wound up spending far more à la carte than we would have had we chosen the tasting). The only moment that he was attentive was when it came time to pay - he loomed over my spouse while he used the POS, no doubt to make him feel pressured to tip generously (though said generosity was not merited under the circumstances). read more

The food was all good, the drinks were good, but I would say as someone who has had Spanish tapas at pretty much every other spot in town, it's fairly overpriced. Also I was disappointed in the patatas bravas being essentially giant French fries with dipping sauce - I don't understand why everyone feels they have to innovate or deconstruct a perfect dish. It's simple but delicious bar food and that's the point. Anyways the service was perfectly fine. The ambiance was really the strongest point for me though - it's a really beautiful space within the hotel. The decor feels both sophisticated and like you're having dinner in the forest. I'd come back for maybe the drinks and 1 or 2 tapas or for a nice meal downtown, but if you're looking for authentic Spanish tapas, this is probably not your spot. read more

Came here for the new Brunch menu and they had so much to offer! Cocktails were a 5/5 and even had mocktails too! The food was also stellar and everyone finished their dish entirely, no leftovers in sight! I got the Spanish omelet and the rest of the table had the Benedict (came on a stunning biscuit), the hobos rancheros (complete with shishito peppers), and the bananas foster waffle (perfectly cooked bananas!). Our meal was amazing and we had the best time they even had a live saxophone player! The only improvement is our server got a bit annoyed he had to split the tab. Guess this means I'm making a trip back soon! Skip the coconut bomb dessert. It left me wanting something to cleanse the palate. Service was exceptional. I'm a sucker for some tapas. And for raw scallops. So when I saw the main picture for this place as scallops, and it's a tapas place? Had to come try. It's located upstairs from the SLU Whole Foods. I parked at Amazon nitro garage since it's free weekends and evenings and walked over. Pretty convenient. I came in sans reservation for Saturday dinner, and was seated immediately at the bar. The ambience is dark, with lots of little table lamps, lots of greenery and wood. Was kinda loud as well. For food, my friend and I shared the scallops (ofc), the beef tartare, patatas bravas, and the sprouted cauliflower. Scallops were okay! The tom kha sauce was really yummy, and the candied jalapeño and chili salt added a nice crunch and zing. But the scallops themselves weren't very sweet and were overwhelmed by the sauce. Beef tartare was really good. Having it prepared table side is cute since they mix everything for you. It's maybe a bit more on the salty side, but I really enjoyed it. Brought out all the flavors. Patatas bravas were perfect. No notes. Crispy, hot, sauce was smoky and delicious. Cauliflower also delicious, but just a tad softer than we would've liked. For dessert, we got the pumpkin tiramisu, which tasted like a subtle PSL haha. I really enjoyed it, especially the cardamom cream on top, though it was mostly overwhelmed by the espresso flavor. Service throughout our meal was extremely attentive and friendly. Overall, a really great experience. Definitely on the pricier side, so probably better for special occasions. My boyfriend and I celebrated our one year anniversary here. We were greeted by a kind hostess, and an even kinder waitress! The waitress even gave us a couple champagne glasses on the house which was so sweet. We both did the tasting menu, they had a vegetarian option for me which was great. The food was well presented, and they spaced each dish wonderfully. Also, as a vegetarian their take on the patatas bravas was amazing! I absolutely loved it and it was my favorite dish I tried there. Their mushrooms were also delicious! Definitely visit this restaurant. La Loba is a great place for a date, dinner with friends or if you're looking to unwind & enjoy great tapas and cocktails! I came with a group of 7 girls to dinner, no reservation but luckily they were able to seat us for a 2 hour slot. We had such a great time! I had a fantastic anniversary dinner at La Loba! Katelyn was amazing and made us feel so special and well taken care of. We tried the set dinner menu, which came with a big assortment of dishes to try. I was impressed by the thoughtfulness behind it; the courses felt cohesive, balancing rich flavors with lighter, refreshing dishes. My favorites were the caviar and egg, the strip loin carpaccio with puffed bread, and the granita dessert. The dessert was unlike anything I've ever tasted; the tart sorbet paired with the buttery popcorn mouse was an explosion in my mouth... I can still imagine the flavors, it was that memorable! Came here on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was fairly filled but we were able to get a table for 4 in about 30 minutes. There is a parking garage, but when we went they unfortunately did not validate parking (luckily we got a fixed rate due to the hour and day that we went). First, when we walked in the ambiance of the place is dark and warm. The place is well designed and my personal favorite is the round booth seating. Secondly, my friends and I all ordered little small dishes because we wanted to try different things together. All of the foods tasted delicious, well balanced with flavors. For someone who is not a big fan of eggplant, the restaurant made me changed my mind when I tasted the eggplant parmigiana -- definitely recommend. They also offer a course plan, which I look forward to coming back and trying. Overall, had a pleasant time at this restaurant with both the service of the staffs (who are kind and accommodating) and the food. I had an excellent time dining here at La Loba for a company dinner on a Tuesday night around 6 pm. It's a popular restaurant with a rainforest interior, classy atmosphere with dim lighting that's perfect for a romantic or special night. It's part of the 1 Hotel and has a separate area for the bar. The service was wonderful with attentive staff, staff who folded our napkins everytime someone left the table, and staff who thoroughly explained the dishes in depth. We had the tasting menu and one individual entree. - Gazpacho Shot: beautiful color mixed with vegetables, fruits, and other sauces. You can either take it in sips or take it whole. I decided to take sips to get that deconstructed flavor. Very refreshing and thick. Decadent flavors from the vinegar and horseradish crema. - Scallop Crudo: beautiful color and plating when it comes in a large bowl of ice. Hold with two fingers, cut once, and slurp. Unique flavors of spice and sour from the pickled jalapeño and candied lime. Went down smoothly. - Punk Caesar: The joke of the table was 1 leaf per person since the dish was very light. Interesting flavors from the Thai basil foam and dark chocolate with Parmesan. Very light and airy. - Striploin Carpaccio: The favorite appetizer of the table for its airiness, the crunch, and classic flavors of truffle and goat cheese. - Eggplant Parmigiana: beautiful colors of orange on this dish, very light yet filling with the eggplant. - Croquetas: heavy and filling with great flavors from cheese and cilantro. Before I go into the entree, the reason why I gave this a 4 because of an entree mishap with one of my colleagues. While 7 of us were served our entrees, 1 person didn't have their dish. It took about 20 minutes for the kitchen to finally bring out his order. However, in that meantime, they brought him the wrong dish as well. It's an awkward situation when everyone has their food except one person. I appreciate the staff and the manager for removing the item from the bill and offering my colleague a free drink, but I wouldn't have expected this error from a top tier restaurant. - Hanger Steak: loved this dish. I'm blown away by the design, execution, and quality of our dinner here. Such an intimate tiki like fusion place that I highly recommend to bring your partner to celebrate special occasions. The cost of the dinner will give you a bit of a heart attack, but I thought it was worth it. European like service, our favorite music was playing, it wasn't loud, our plates were changed three times, food was the best it can be for Seattle - I am just shocked that this place even exists! Service is great and certain items like the tartare they mix in front of you. Scallop crudo - the coconut juice makes it feel similar to a tom yum! scallop is fresh and soft! 4/5 Beef tartare - The best beef tartare i've had so far. I love that they add bone marrow which brings in some extra richness and my favorite sauce is the green one! Comes with bread too. I went to La Loba last month to celebrate a friend's birthday, and although I did not know what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and wonderful food. The restaurant is located in a hotel with a dimly lit interior, with lots of greenery and a warm ambiance. There is a little band of live music performers as well, playing various tunes in the background. We settled on sharing various dishes, most of them being commonly seen dishes in the Vancouver food scene, but with a special twist in flavours and paired ingredients. The candied salmon was simple but delicious, a great recommendation for those who love sweet and savoury with hints of smokiness. I also really enjoyed the scallop crudo and found the tom kha sauce very unique (fresh, creamy, but slightly tart). The tableside beef tartare was also an interesting experience. Watching the process from start to finish definitely made the tartare seem special. I enjoyed the novelty of the 3 paired sauces (chives-jalapeno emulsion, gochujang, black garlic), but at the same time felt it was a bit much, as I didn't even end up using a lot of it. My friends felt the tartare flavour-wise was just okay. When the mains arrived, I was already feeling slightly full, so my review of these dishes may be slightly skewed! The rigatoni was exactly as advertised; my party found it sufficient but nothing out of the ordinary. I personally enjoyed the bucatini as it was simple but fragrant (lemon beurre blanc); however, some people may find this plain, especially if they have a heavier palate. The pork chop was juicy, and the porcini crust was unique, but I think it wasn't my preferred flavour profile (at least looking back, I couldn't think of anything too memorable with it). Last but not least, we ended with the pistachio tiramisu (not pictured), which was a delightful treat! In my rank of restaurant tiramisu, this one probably belongs in the top 5. The restaurant also delivered a strawberry shaved ice dessert as a birthday treat, and my friend ended up really liking it! It was a great way to end the meal. The service was prompt, and the cocktails are also really great here. My friend ordered one that was fresh, clarified, and fruity-type delicious (although I cannot remember its name, unfortunately - it is depicted though!). The missus got a day-before reservation for 2 people at 4:15pm, Friday, August 29th. We arrived promptly and were seated at the table for two immediately perpendicular to the front door (which is easy to find - at the top of the stairs, behind the elevators next to the whole foods, next to where Tutta Bella used to be). You get three menus - the main menu, tasting menu, and wine / drinks menu. They don't do beer - just wine and cocktails. The waiter (Skyler) mentioned the food is PNW and Spanish - the ingredients are mostly locally sourced. We chose the tasting menu - $85 per person (at time of writing). It comes with quite a bit of food, but we also ordered a bucatini and the patatas bravas on top of that. The waiter (Skyler) advised us this was plenty of food, so that was all we ordered. They request you order for the table (shared plates - tapas), and fully order upfront so they can portion and pace the meal accordingly. They offer still, sparking, or tap water. They consistently fill it up so I was never below 1/4 of my glass. That was nice. They kept refilling our water throughout - it's the little things. The first four courses tasting menu (tapas) were light and refreshing. The missus and I both liked the carpaccio the most. All were good, but the missus mentioned the other dishes were disproportionate in terms of the cheese and crumble. First dish (gazpacho) and carpaccio were the standouts. Next up was the platillos (2) - eggplant parmigiana and the croquette jamon. They both came at the same time. The croquette was moist and I liked the flavour! Eggplant was awesome - baked! We finished this course at 5pm - they're quite efficient. They cleared our plates and cutlery and replaced it at this point too. We got the patatas bravas at this point. The missus didn't think it was anything special, but I ordered it because I know the chef is from a small town 15 miles outside of Barcelona, and he felt this dish on his menu was special. Missus said it was greasy but very much "comfort food". I appreciated the complexity in the thin stack of potato layering, which looks like an enlarged fry (or a churro?), but nonetheless enjoyable for me. We had the choice to change our dishes again after the patatas, we said yes - it's nice that this is an option. Third was the platos principales. The missus ordered black cod - I ordered the beef cheek. These came out with the pasta dish we ordered. I liked both the cheek and the cod - we both thought that the cod had too much kimchi with it but the layering of flavours was quite interesting. The missus thought the mains weren't standing out - and I agree. They were all decent though - the pasta was hollow so it's like a really long miniature macaroni (heh). We finished (and packed leftovers) by 5:35pm - we haven't even been here an hour and it's gone by in a flash! They even packed the leftovers super fast! Last up was the dessert - granita - strawberry shaved ice with popcorn mousse. This was a nice refreshing end to the meal. Light, easy to eat, and even though I was full it didn't bloat me! Missus said they could have added more things like mint or something. We paid our tab and were ready to go by 5:45pm. Great use of 1.5 hours! Such a great spot. I feel like Seattle really needed an elevated tapas experience on the West side. They give a l unique take on traditional Spanish foods. Highly recommend the scallop crudo, patatas bravas, candied salmon, and the octopus. We just stuck to small plates since we weren't that hungry, but I'd try the mains on a second trip. Drinks were great. I was a fan of the Shrimp with the Lobster Tattoo. I'm not sold on the Loba considering they use tito's vodka which I'm not a fan of, but it's cute. Service was excellent. First time at La Loba. Heard so much hype about this new restaurant on South Lake Union and needed to go and try the spot for myself! After my first visit at La Loba, I'm so excited to have a fine dining restaurant in Seattle that elevates the experience within their food and service. I have been recommending my friends and family to go to La Loba! O The ambiance gives you those tulum vibes. Since the restaurant is associated with 1 Hotel, it's a touristy restaurant. You can dress up or down - no policy. We did have an issue with the hostess and our reservation. However, the GM was super nice about it and he did help make our first time experience successful. Our group ordered several items to share, family style. Everything we ordered turned out flavorful. For appetizers, my favorites were: Scallop shooter - has a coconut flavor to it Green tartare - was served with rice paper. Highly recommend Coquette - one of my favorites Eggplant lasagna - a must. I came to La Loba on a Saturday evening to celebrate a friend's birthday. The ambiance is nice - it's an urban oasis vibe being connected to the 1 Hotel in Seattle. The menu consists of hot and cold tapas, pastas and large plates. There was three of us and we ended up ordering 5 tapas, 1pasta and 1 dessert all to share. It was enough to fill us up. Overall we really enjoyed our food! We thought they were all pretty unique and tasty, and they had a nice presentation too. My favorites were the scallop crudo, candied salmon and eggplant parm. The scallop bucatini was pretty good too - the pasta was cooked al dente and the scallops were perfectly cooked as well. I think the only thing we didn't love was the 30-Day Dry Aged Striploin Carpaccio - it was a bit too salty? Maybe too much blue cheese inside the puffed bread. And the pistachio tiramisu didn't have as much pistachio flavor as we had hoped. Prices are on the higher end too for the portion size, so this is more of a special occasion/ nicer meal restaurant. Our waitress was great and overall service was wonderful. My friend even got a complimentary granita for her bday in addition to the pistachio tiramisu we ordered. We're big fans of this groups restaurants in Las Vegas, so when we heard they were opening a place in one of our favorite cities to visit, we made a reservation! We had the scallops, oysters, candied salmon, palatilla, carpaccio, caviar egg, Bravas, black cod, cavitelli and the dry aged pork chop. In addition the chef sent over the green tartare and the endive salad Everything was delicious. The oysters come with trout roe, a little scoop of pico and some ponzu sauce. Very refreshing The scallops are done with Tom Kha sauce and some picked jalapeno. One of my favorite things and Anima and done right here The green tartare is so simple but so delicious. Made with just 3 ingredients it's bursting with flavor. One of our dinner companions said it was one of the best things he's ever eaten The endive salad was good but not one of my favorites. Filled with cheese and walnuts, it was tasty but paled to the rest of the offerings The palatilla was to die for. Wish I had 50 of them. So good, a highlight for sure The pork chops were amazing. As for the food, everything we had was solid, but nothing stood out as especially memorable this time around. The pan con tomate def could've used a bit of salt & olive oil - maybe they accidentally left it off? Compared to everything else that app was super lack luster. Would 100% go back to have more cocktails and tapas. The "wolf in sheep's clothing" was an amazing super dirty martini. Tldr: Get up and get your a** to La Loba now! It's going to get BUSY! Ambience: Where do I even start? The interior of La Loba is absolutely stunning and filled with lush greenery. I asked if the plants were real (they are!), and they add such a vibrant pnw vibe -- exactly the kind of place Seattle needs more of. Service: Our server, Danielle, was fantastic. She was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful in guiding us through the menu. For a restaurant that's only been open two weeks, I was expecting some hiccups--but the team absolutely nailed the experience. Also props to our beef tartare tableside chef. What a hero! Food: Wow. Just wow. The food at La Loba was unreal. The tableside beef tartare was hands-down one of the best I've had--my wife had to put a stop to the second order. The 30-day aged strip loin with cheese was a totally unique and delicious combo, and the salmon was another standout. Every dish was balanced, creative, and cooked to perfection. Seattle is full of restaurants that miss the mark, but La Loba truly knocked it out of the park. Fancier unique flavored dining experience -- definitely worth stopping in. It is located at the first floor in the back of the entrance of the 1Hotel. You're immediately greeted with a smell of clean elegance and off white tones with medium oak decor and greenery. Once you enter walk to the left through a little bar (separate from the restaurant) "drift bar/lounge" but keep going even though it says exit you'll see the hostess stand there. all the staff are very attentive and very nice and welcoming. there is lots of street parking or i'm sure the hotel has some parking but prolly with a fee (also not sure if they validate as i easily found street parking on a thursday). the menu is a fusion of spanish, french, italian, asian with some local WA ingredients. we ordered quite a few items: smoked candied salmon toast, scallop crudo, croquetas, patatas bravas, bucatini, pan-roasted black cod, granita, and deconstructed key lime pie. keep in mind when you order from "tapas" it is traditionally a smaller portion in the spanish culture. i'd recommend the scallop crudo, croqueta, smoked salmon toast for sure. these were all like "OMG! so good!!" i am obsessed with the smoked salmon toast.id drive my ass all the way there just for these three items the patatas bravas was a little too salted for me but i am sensitive to salt. the cod was hard for me because while it was cooked well i have a natural and almost inevitable affinity towards miso black cod and i have still found no alternately cooked version that is better than that. these bucatini was delicious but not super outstanding. i am curious to try the other pastas tho. looooved the deconstructed key lime pie such a fun concept. the granita was like a strawberry flavored shave ice and it was delicious. tasted like real strawberries. read more

Visited La Loba last night with a group of my girlfriends and had a spectacular night. The service was so friendly and was super helpful on deciding what to order. All of their recommendations were fantastic. The patatas bravas had an amazing crunch but soft, fluffy inside, then dipped in the to die for sauce, perfection. I enjoyed the Bucatini pasta a lot and the flavors were great, my only wish was that the noodles could have been a bit more al dente, but was still a great dish. The Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe had a great twist on a classic dish. Would definitely recommend this restaurant! read more

Great wine and cocktail options, perfect for happy hour. Very centrally located near Amazon buildings. Service was great.
