Very cute bar upstairs of Biang Biang noodles. Seating is limited as the space is small. Cocktails are on the smaller side and it is pricey, but I loved the unique flavors and tea that shone through.

Fantastic decor and beautiful drink presentations. This cozy speakeasy upstairs from the restaurant has a really charming atmosphere. It wasn't busy when we arrived, so it was nice to have a quieter experience and really take in the space. The drinks were creative and absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent as well.

Delicious cocktails Cute small venue. Fun food, K-pop ramen Reservation a must. We called before and told we didn't need one and had to wait 30 minutes for for the wait list. We go off it but had to wait. Reservation seem to start top of the hour and wait list clears 10 minutes after

We came on a Saturday night around 7pm and got lucky with a walk-in, I'd recommend doing a reservation for future! It's at the top of the Biang Biang noodle restaurant & has intimate dark lit seating Surprisingly it was easy to hold a conversation, they played some classics and they also had food options but we opted just for drinks. The service was prompt & there was a very diverse menu for drinks. We were really impressed with even the non alcoholic drinks " not too sweet" is always a good compliment in my book :-)

This was by far my favorite bar that I went to during my trip to Seattle. If you want Asian inspired flavors that you can actually taste and delicious cocktails where you can barely taste the alcohol then this is the spot! I would recommend making reservations as seating is limited. The bar is located upstairs inside of Biang Biang noodle restaurant so the space is quite small. Also, if you have a group of 6 or more, they require a minimum of two orders per person so something to keep in mind. What we ordered: - Jade Lotus (5/5): This was a fan favorite amongst all of my friends. I like how you can really taste the pandan flavor and you can't even taste the alcohol. Definitely recommend this cocktail! - Game of Ming (5/5): My second favorite cocktail that we ordered. Delicious and tasted like passion fruit but the baijiu really creeps up on you. - Yuzu Rice (5/5): Also very light and delicious. You can really taste the yuzu so if you like yuzu, definitely give this cocktail a try. - 601 Breeze (3/5): This cocktail also contains pandan but the flavor is not as apparent as the Jade Lotus cocktail and it was not as sweet as the other cocktails. Not my favorite but not bad considering I don't like rum. - Happy Monk (3/5): Also not my favorite because I don't like whiskey but I will say that it was probably the most tolerable whiskey cocktail I've tried. If you're a fan of whiskey, maybe give this one a try.

We went upstairs after having dinner at Biang Biang noodles and it's such a cute vibe. I feel like I'm being transported into a Hong Kong movie Service: Our server was so attentive and patient as we were looking through the menu and trying to decide what drink to get! There were too many good options to choose from... Drink: I got the 601 breeze and it was good! I want to go again and try their other drinks. My friend got the Pink Moonlight and really liked hers Ambiance: Its a very cozy and intimate setting. Perfect for a date night or a night out with some friends

This is my favorite bar in Capitol Hill. It's small, intimate, classy, and a very well-hidden. All the cocktails are unique and presented beautifully. The servers are so nice and present every drink with lots of care and love.

Was in town for a trip to Seattle and we knew we wanted to try a few places that would be good for cocktails! This place came up as a little hidden gem that is tucked away into Biang Biang noodles. When we came upstairs and turned the corner, you see this absolutely stunning bar that is lit with beautiful bright lights, and a cozy seating area with seating for small tables and bar top. We decided we all wanted to sit at the bar and I am so glad we did. The ladies working that evening were absolutely a wonderful. They taught us about Soju and the traditional drink that it is, and talked to us how to drink Soju and the loved that there were a great variety for us to try. We all get different kinds, and the one thing I loved most about this place is the presentation of all the cocktails. Every Soju that we ordered came presented in a different glass, as well as the specialty cocktails we ordered. Every drink was made with time, love, respect and great energy. I loved the group I was with, because we were all open to sharing and trying each other's drinks, which made for an amazing experience! Once we were done, we did pop down stairs for some hand pulled noodles, and highly recommend coming for drinks and then noods!

This "speakeasy"-esque bar is super cool! I love the asian take on cocktails and the decor is lovely. They had some super interesting sounding drinks, I ended up trying 3. Wow, their smoked old fashioned is POWERFUL. The scent from the smoke with the hard hit from a sip of hard alcohol strikes you deeply in a profound way. I recommend sharing this with friends unless you are strong-willed. I also tried one of their sweeter lychee drinks which tasted amazing with some more nuance complex flavors in there besides sweetness! All in all, good drinks but not knock your socks off. I recommend getting there early as they close weirdly early for a bar and don't have much seating up there.

Came here on a Saturday night and it was super crowded. The tables are pretty small and I came with a group of 4 with a tall round circle which wasn't the most comfortable place to sit at. I love the Asian influence on the drinks here. As someone who loves tea this was a place that couldn't be missed. The drinks here are pretty strong and were pretty good. I'm not the biggest drinker so I thought it was just okay but my friends who do drink liked it. Forgot the same but I thought the lychee cocktail was the best one and I recommend. This place is pretty expensive for their drinks tho I was looking forward to the complementary tea at the end of our time here but that sadly never happened to us which was a bit disappointing. Really cute and aesthetic place tho.

Kat K.

We tried every single cocktails they served and it was not overhyped. It's definitely a place you'd want to go to for Asian inspired creative cocktails that actually taste amazing. 10/10 no notes.

Accepted us as a walk in on a Thursday night at 7:30. Awesome ambience, very friendly attentive staff and very tasty cocktails. Will definitely come back. Cocktail rankings :) Game of Ming: 6/10 Dragons Breath: 7/10 Yuzu Rice (cocktail on special): 9/10 Bamboo Grove: 8/10

Strong drinks and good food. Love the ambiance and the small, intimate size of the bar. I would definitely recommend making reservations in advance since seating is limited.

Is it possible to order off the Bian noodles menu upstairs? Hoping to checkout the bar and innovative drinks but also want the yummy noodles.

No they are two completely different venues even though in the same space! When we went we did cocktails first and then went downstairs for food!! Both amazing experiences!

I also had El Boho (flavorful but not overly sweet). The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to recommending drinks. The prices are on the higher end, but personally I think they're totally worth it for the creativity and overall experience. And because they bartender wasn't paying attention, he forgot to put our food order in....probably didn't need it anyway, I need to diet. And then we get the check and they automatically add 22%...if you are a quality establishment offering exceptional customer service, you don't need to tell me what to tip...guess you are not. And they they have the nerve to ask me if I want to tip another 18%, 20%, or 25% when I sign the check on their Toast device... I'll go out for a quality cocktail experience at Needle & Thread, The Doctor's Office, or maybe the Red Onion, lol. But I won't be coming back here ever again.

Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year. I can't recommend it enough and it'll be at the top of my list of places to hit the next time I'm in town.

As a self-appointed connoisseur of speakeasies (a title I awarded myself after extensive…read more"research") Needle and Thread sits comfortably at the top of my list. While reservations aren't technically required, let me save you some heartbreak, make one. They only open reservations six days in advance, and this place fills up faster than brunch spots when the sun comes out in Seattle. Totally worth the planning. The experience starts downstairs at Tavern Law restaurant, where you let the host know you're headed to Needle and Thread. From there, you're directed to a mysterious locked door next to a telephone. Yes, an actual phone. Pick it up, give your reservation name once someone answers, and bam! You're buzzed upstairs like you've just passed a very classy secret test. Once inside, you're greeted and escorted to your seat, and the magic really begins. There's no drink menu because why limit creativity? Instead, the staff plays cocktail therapist, asking about your favorite spirits, flavors, and moods. Based on your answers, they craft a completely custom drink tailored to your palate. Every cocktail we tried was spot-on. Balanced, intentional, and clearly made by people who treat mixology like an art form rather than a guessing game. Bonus points: You can request the coaster they took your order on, which lists the ingredients so you can attempt to recreate it at home (results may vary depending on your confidence and liquor cabinet.) Not to be overshadowed by the drinks, the Sockeye Salmon Crostini was a fantastic fresh, flavorful appetizer and the perfect companion to a night of bespoke cocktails. They have other heartier food as well, but we had dinner reservations elsewhere for the evening. Between the immersive entrance, outstanding service, thoughtful drinks, and authentic speakeasy atmosphere, this isn't just a bar, it's an experience. If you're in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Needle and Thread is a must try.

Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.
