Deep Dive is my favorite cocktail bar in Seattle. The decor is incredible: Very speakeasy vibes, and every detail feels thoughtful and elevated. The whole space has this intimate, luxurious atmosphere that makes the experience feel special the moment you walk in. We tried the Japanese Breakfast, which is a savory cocktail and such a pleasant surprise. It genuinely has miso soup notes. It's very unique and creative. I also had El Boho (flavorful but not overly sweet). The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to recommending drinks. The prices are on the higher end, but personally I think they're totally worth it for the creativity and overall experience. This is the spot I bring all my out-of-town friends to because the ambiance, vibes, and drinks are just that good. Truly one of Seattle's gems. read more

I've been here a number of times in the past and this experience was different and something has obviously changed...maybe they are focused on tourists more than locals now? For one, the bar service was mediocre for my $26 cocktail. I get more conversation from the bartenders at the Red Onion.... And because they bartender wasn't paying attention, he forgot to put our food order in....probably didn't need it anyway, I need to diet. And then we get the check and they automatically add 22%...if you are a quality establishment offering exceptional customer service, you don't need to tell me what to tip...guess you are not. And they they have the nerve to ask me if I want to tip another 18%, 20%, or 25% when I sign the check on their Toast device... I'll go out for a quality cocktail experience at Needle & Thread, The Doctor's Office, or maybe the Red Onion, lol. But I won't be coming back here ever again. read more

I've been looking forward to visiting the bar for weeks. Finally got a time and reservation time I preferred was available. We arrive and get seated. The First Gentleman was attentive and we got our drinks and an appetizer timely. We ordered our second appetizer with our first server and thats where the service deteriorated. I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. Another 10-15 mins go by and I had to ask "do you know how long our order will take to which she seemed to get annoyed. It could have my energy because by that time I was annoyed. I'm not sure what happened to our original server but he must have gotten off. About 5-10 mins goes by and here it comes. That confirmed the table next to us got our order because of how long it took. They never apologized for their mistake. Doing all that time they never came back to see if we would like another drink. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. I had about 45 minutes until a nearby appointment and was near the Amazon Spheres. I recalled there was a hidden bar inside the Spheres so I walked around the block until I found Deep Dive. The entrance is along a pathway to an simple door with a hard to read bar name on the door. Not really a speakeasy per se but definitely that vibe. Once inside, you go down a ramp and around a corner to the very dark and windowless lounge. There are about 9-10 seats at the bar and several tables filling out the space. There is very interesting decorations throughout the venue. The pheasant under glass being the first decoration I saw. I noticed that there are several other taxidermized animals under glass along the bar. In fact, my seat ended up being directly in front of a squirrel under glass. Unusual decor. The tables and bar were mostly occupied yet even without reservations, I was seated rapidly by the host at the bar and immediately offered a choice of sparkling or still water. This is a nice European touch I observed. I chose sparkling water. Then I perused the menu and chose a Bourbon Old Fashioned cocktail as this place screams hard liquor to me. My cocktail was very tasty and done up well by the professional bartender. I was happy to have finally tried Deep Dive and can see this place being a great spot for clandestine meetings or a drink and a bite to eat before going to a show nearby. It is pretty pricey as my one drink with tip was about $37. Not for the faint of heart. read more

This was a pretty big disappointment if you are factoring in price 129 for 4 drinks with auto gratuity for a party of 4 Service, host was great and introducing us and getting us seated. But the rest of the team felt like it was more of a chore to check up on us. Quality of experience felt detached from the restaurant since we were tucked away at the bottom of the ramp. It was dark and felt secluded from what we would have liked to see for a first impression. We understand that we didn't have a reservation so this might have contributed to the low quality experience. Would love to give this place another try in the future since there's a lot of good reviews but we'd definitely recommend reconsidering if you're looking to walk in. An old high school buddy was up from Portland and recommended this place, an old stomping ground that they carried him out of on more than one occasion. It's a dive. An elegant mess. It's dark. It looks filthy, but it's not. They have a huge selection of libations that reads more like a book than a menu. The prices are a bit on the steep side, but they serve an excellent drink and the atmosphere is extremely intimate and kickin'. They also offer a few small plates, if you like. The waitstaff is incredibly tuned in and to their credit, in their menu, they have a clear message that they'll be charging a 22% service charge that the business will be keeping 100% of. Love me a swanky cocktail lounge! The space is dark, sexy, sophisticated. Staff are friendly and helpful in answering questions about the menu. The cocktails I tried were both fab- rifs on classics, nicely balanced. We split a few small plates- the oysters are $$ but the best I've had in a long time. I'd skip the burrata which didn't have any of the pickled rhubarb or salt flavor that the menu teased, but the smoked salmon dip was a winner. Cocktail tables are tiny and there's really not room for more than one plate of food at a time. The reservation is only for 90 minutes, so plan strategically if you plan to order food and more than one round of drinks. It's definitely pricey, and it seems like you need a reservation even early on a Tuesday, so plan ahead if you check it out. read more

Dimly lit, not too loud, fancy interior design, this is a great spot to go for after dinner drinks in Seattle. We tried a couple of different drinks (love how the menu is divided into the different zones of the sea depending on the main liquor) that were recommended by our servers based on our preferences. I told him my favorite drink was a lemon drop and he immediately let me know this was not the place for that type of drink. In those exact words...I was shocked because it was a full bar and I know that I may not be able to get that exact drink but definitely something sweet. He had let me know that none of the drinks on the menu were sweet, which I found a little surprising. He did recommended one to me that he felt was the most sweet. Guess what... it was sweet and I didn't have an issue with the actual drink. I just didn't like the service that I receive there as a tourist and someone who travels/reviews foods often. I was shocked. If you're looking for ambience and pictures. Good luck with that as well because when I whipped out my phone to take pictures, the same waiter let me know that I was not able to take pictures and I later found out that I could take pictures just without the flash so he kinda ruined the whole experience for me. A favorite cocktail bar of ours. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because we walked in right after it opened one night before a concert and we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't because it was a last minute decision to go there because we were early to our concert. There were plenty of tables and spaces open that we could see. He told us that we could sit but he needed our spot after 45 minutes. We accepted as that was all the time we had anyway. We arrived just as they were opening on a Friday at 5p and were able to get a table for two. It is a "speakeasy" of sorts, so it wasn't obvious to me how to find it...but it's also not that tough since the entrance is visible from the sidewalk. The bar is beautiful with an old-fashioned feel to it - lots of dark wood, dim lighting and patrons and bar staff generally dressed up. It's an intimate space so we were sitting pretty close to the table next to us. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I ordered the Hush Money, a champagne cocktail, which was exactly as the server described. read more

This place is located inside the Spheres in SLU (look for an inconspicuous door on the corner of 7th and Lenora St. The interior is super fun, a bit of a crossover between Jules Verne and Lewis Carroll, and gives you an occasion to dress up, should you wish so. We did not have a reservation, although one is highly recommended, but got super lucky with the timing, and ended up in the "library" - which is a perfect space for a business happy hour or just a slightly bigger group. The menu has a a pretty decent selection of non-alcoholic drinks in addition to a wide and creative drinks list. The service was very attentive-yet-not hovering, which is the optimal combo. We had a great time at Deep Dive! The reservations were made a few weeks in advance to ensure we could get in. We were seated right away and were blown away instantly by the decor and ambiance. Every employee we interacted with was lovely, attentive, and knew their stuff. My husband and I ordered two drinks a piece. Two were off their premade cocktail menu. I ordered the kitten heel which was very "sprucy" and floral. It was well made but I may try something different next time. Then I got a simple gin gimlet -- it was delightful and clean. My husband wanted to get a blackberry scotch drink, but they were out so they made an off menu drink called The Lions Mane which blew his mind. Loved that they were able to whip something up for him based on what he was looking for! For food we both ordered the tasting menu. Every dish was very thoughtful and built out a delicious culinary story. The steak with turnip puree and watermelon radish was the star of the show. Only "ding" was the burnt basque cheesecake with seasonal fruit. The cheesecake was scrumptious but they topped it with frozen strawberries like what are typically used on ice cream sundaes. We expected fresh fruit for a $75 per person experience. The overwhelming sweetness was not good. At the end of the night we paid about $300 after tip. This is totally a once or twice a year spot. We'll certainly be bringing friends visiting Seattle so they can try it out. read more

This gothic maximalist bar under the Amazon spheres is a unique and fun bar for a classy date but not much else. While the atmosphere can't be beat, the prices certainly can. The cheapest drinks you will get are $20 each and nothing was too special about the ones we had. That being said, the faccacia was amazing which a crisp crust, soft and chewy inside. The attention to details were spot on. Even the cubed I've had their logo on it. The atmosphere has every little detail polished. Everything from the gorgious paintings with particular frames that match the windows to the items lit with underneath lighting are obviously well thought out. We went to Deep Dive on Monday night at 7:15 PM for a quick drink before getting dinner. We love the ambiance here-lots of low lighting and curios here. Their menu is well organized-we like how they sectioned their cocktails by descriptions of how we wanted our cocktails to feel. We split two cocktails, the Don Roberto (tequila/banana/chile amaro) and Old Man and the Sea (whiskey/nori/soy). Both of these are absolute winners-the Don Roberto is delicious with a little bit of funk, and Old Man and the Sea is unique-this was my favorite cocktail of the two. I wouldn't think to have nori or soy in a cocktail but it was well executed! Our only wish was that they had a little basket/hamper for the bathroom's hand towels-it is GORGEOUS and we didn't know where to put them.
