We came here for devil advocate burlesque night and it was amazing!!! Unicorn Bar feels like entering a whimsical circus world. The vibrant decor, featuring colorful banners, vintage circus posters, and playful seating arrangements, immediately sets a festive tone. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere buzzes with excitement, making it an ideal spot for a night out with friends. If you're looking for a delicious shot I highly recommend the friendship bracelet it was so smooth and easy to shoot. Overall, The Unicorn is a delightful escape from the ordinary. With its fun atmosphere, creative cocktails, and playful menu, it's a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a night of laughter and good company. I can't wait to return for more circus-inspired fun!

This place is so mesmerizing and so much fun! It's giving circus queer taxidermy/arcade? Don't hesitate and check it out for sure! Staff is always friendly, it gets busyyy at night so go earlier if you can to snag a table.

Ever wanted a 5* experience but couldn't afford it? Ever wanted to have to go collect your own food from the kitchen because your whole party is too drunk to order alcohol? Ever wanted to explore a new part of town without judgement. Don't worry! The bartender here is as wonderful as they come. Full of snarky remarks and juicy jokes. Want to order some alcohol? "You know how to use ur words?" What exceptional customer service!!!! Ur party is actually too intoxicated to order alcohol but u can go collect your food order from the kitchen! Food tasted okay tho.

Unique interior! It's almost like a carnival! Quite dim on the inside. The drinks were good and unique too. I like the cocktails a lot. Unicorn Jizz is my favorite at the moment and Passion Quest as well. If you like fruity and not too strong drinks, I'd recommend those. The service was quick. The drinks look a bit similar to each other so not too noticeable difference but the tastes are different. The green tea shots were good here too. They have non-alcoholic options too (not many but that's ok.) I haven't tried going downstairs to the other part of this bar but will explore that next.

This bar is the definition of Capital Hill. It doesn't get any more Seattle than this. Good drink menu and personable bartenders. There's always a lot going on here so it's perfect for ppl watching/socializing. Many different rooms to catch a vibe.

Such a unique find! Everything in here is so trippy and there are surprises in every corner of the bar. Not to mention the bar downstairs has even more fun like arcade games and a Photo Booth. We happened upon it during drag bingo night and was it was such a fun time! The best thing about it are the drinks.. we had the unicorn jizz and it tasted like straight up juice. They hide the liquor so well, and will get u buzzed with 2 for sure. We also had the pink flamingo and that was a favorite as well since it tasted like lemonade. We had some fries and they were also a great shareable. Overall the environment is so welcoming and the bartenders are super nice and funny!

Unicorn is such a fun, whimsical cocktail bar to visit in the Capitol Hill area. I love the colorful and unique interior. There are bright pastel colors everywhere, and it's carnival/animal themed. My friend and I stopped in on Friday at midnight and it wasn't too busy. My friend ordered the Unicorn Jizz cocktail (house made mango vodka, triple sec, oj, sour, grenadine, lemon lime soda). I ordered the Mauve Mullet cocktail (tequila, strawberry syrup, papaya guava puree, lime, lemon lime soda). We both loved our drinks and thought they tasted similar. I liked mine more though because it was more sour, and I love sour drinks! There's additional space to hang out downstairs with booths, tables and chairs, a claw machine, and arcade games. They also serve food, but we weren't hungry so it did not appeal to us. It was apparently featured in the Thrift Shop by Macklemore music video; I found that out when I went downstairs and came across a sign mentioning it. Unicorn is a very cool venue to hang out no matter what time or day!

____ It is rare that when people give me suggestions of places to go that I remember, but when I was told about this place I remember it sounded so cool, I knew that I must store it my brain for my next visit to Seattle. This place is exactly as cool as it sounds! I was immediately drawn in by the quirky decor and playful atmosphere. The bedazzled ATM was the cherry on top! The carnival-themed menu was a delightful surprise. The Unicorn Wizz cocktail was surprisingly delicious, and the veggie corn dog and cheesy fritters were a far cry from the disappointing fair food we'd had the day before. If you're looking for a fun and unique bar experience, this is the place to be!

Definitely one of the best bars I been to in Seattle. Great service and friendly bartenders. I love how fun this place is with its decor and the drinks are just amazing. As someone who doesn't like the alcohol taste in general, this is a great place for those like me. However they also have strong drinks as well, a perfect blend of what you need. The flavors of the drinks are wonderful, super unique and something for everyone to try. We also ordered food and it was a bit on the salter side which wasn't the best however it was still pretty good. Love show big the salad portion was. I got the chicken Caesar salad and it came with kale as the greens instead of lettuce which has cool, do wish there was a bit more chicken in it tho.

went to unicorn w a dazzling rec from a friend! the vibes are super cool, it's all circus themed inside and i will say i love a barcade and unicorn didn't disappoint. the drinks were alright and unfortunately a lot of sitting and not a lot of dancing but maybe that's common for a saturday night. the bartenders were awesome and speedy so it never felt like i was waiting too long even with a pretty full bar. very cool and worth the visit

Such a fun little bar!! Everything about unicorn is so unique. There's really no other place like it. I always do a corn dog and garlic fries which never fail me! Service is always quick and every bartender I've ever met has been extremely nice

Such a fun night out celebrating pride month! Definitely the top spot for a show, they have carnival eats. I had the hot honey chicken sandwich . They're pricey here but enjoyable.

Obsessed with how cool of a spot this is! My friend and I came around 6pm on a Thursday to check this spot out and grab some drinks. The atmosphere is really fun and unique! Think creepy cool carnival vibes. Their drinks are fairly priced. We ordered at the bar downstairs because we went their for their Thursday trivia night so we also wanted to grab some food. I got their tropical lemonade and my friend ordered a cocktail. The bartender was really nice. For food we got an order of their tots and chicken strips. The chicken strips tasted great, but they are skinny so you can definitely order more of them if you're looking for a full meal. We were a little disappointed because the night we went, the trivia person happened to be a no-show. Of course, not the bar's fault and we hope that person is ok. Other cool things they have include a photo booth and some fun little arcade games you can play.

I did not love the ambiance here as it was quite dead when I went, and it seemed there was barely any alcohol in the drinks.

Is it hard to find parking?

Street parking can be tough. There is a small paid lot located at Poquitos you can walk from. Also another one next to Barrio. Those are usually the easiest.

NO..They didnt require that or mask when we were there last month

Are pictures of my vaccination card okay for proof of vaccination?

Yes

Can you get in with a negative Covid test?

No, you must have proof that you are fully vaccinated.

Is there still an old photo booth?

Heck yea!!! We swapped over to digital prints a few years ago (the old one was not very reliable and took like 5 minutes to print) but now we have more filter and background options, and they print lightning fast!

Anything to eat that's gluten free?

Does anyone know if it's +21?

Yes, we are 21 and over at all times.

How and where is parking?

There isn't a lot but Cap Hill is very walkable and there is a lot of street parking around.

Our server was really nice but maybe stretched too thin bc she forgot to put our order in and threw away her paper that she wrote it on so she had to come re take our order. We had full intentions of ordering entrees from here but they were out of the main dishes. Just seems like the kitchen manager isn't planning well, staff doesn't have help from management. The First Gentleman was attentive and we got our drinks and an appetizer timely. We ordered our second appetizer with our first server and thats where the service deteriorated. I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. Another 10-15 mins go by and I had to ask "do you know how long our order will take to which she seemed to get annoyed. It could have my energy because by that time I was annoyed. I'm not sure what happened to our original server but he must have gotten off. About 5-10 mins goes by and here it comes. That confirmed the table next to us got our order because of how long it took. They never apologized for their mistake. Doing all that time they never came back to see if we would like another drink. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. While reservations aren't technically required, let me save you some heartbreak, make one. They only open reservations six days in advance, and this place fills up faster than brunch spots when the sun comes out in Seattle. Totally worth the planning. The experience starts downstairs at Tavern Law restaurant, where you let the host know you're headed to Needle and Thread. From there, you're directed to a mysterious locked door next to a telephone. Yes, an actual phone. Pick it up, give your reservation name once someone answers, and bam! You're buzzed upstairs like you've just passed a very classy secret test. Once inside, you're greeted and escorted to your seat, and the magic really begins. There's no drink menu because why limit creativity? Instead, the staff plays cocktail therapist, asking about your favorite spirits, flavors, and moods. Based on your answers, they craft a completely custom drink tailored to your palate. Every cocktail we tried was spot-on. Balanced, intentional, and clearly made by people who treat mixology like an art form rather than a guessing game. Bonus points: You can request the coaster they took your order on, which lists the ingredients so you can attempt to recreate it at home (results may vary depending on your confidence and liquor cabinet.) Not to be overshadowed by the drinks, the Sockeye Salmon Crostini was a fantastic fresh, flavorful appetizer and the perfect companion to a night of bespoke cocktails. They have other heartier food as well, but we had dinner reservations elsewhere for the evening. Between the immersive entrance, outstanding service, thoughtful drinks, and authentic speakeasy atmosphere, this isn't just a bar, it's an experience. If you're in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Needle and Thread is a must try.

Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.
