    Christmas bar drinks
    Elizabeth M.

Christmas time is here!!! Such a cute Christmas pop-up bar. We went on a Monday night and it was not crowded at all. They have some light snacks and festive drinks and fun mugs. They are your average Seattle price for drinks. I do wish they did have more hot drinks available for the Christmas winter time. But I would come back again for doing a Christmas bar crawl.

Great service and ambiance. A bit more on the pricey side but well worth. I got the sandalwood sour and it was Devine. We didn't have any food but overall still good!

I came here for a special event that they hosted and the vibes were sexy and chic. The cocktail menu is as unique as the space and the glassware that they used. This space is not afraid to use nice couches and chairs to pair well with good art on the walls. Will be coming back to bring friends, dates, and family to show them how classy Seattleites can be. This is such a great spot.

Swung by after work after lots of hype by coworkers. Upon entering, it felt like we were transported into a cute wonderland. The place was decked out and just gave such amazing vibes. My friends and I were seated at the bar and were greeted by the friendliest bartender ever (so sorry I forgot his name- but he has luscious golden locks haha)! We ordered the Christmasauraus, Rudolph's Replacement, and Hot Buttered Rum. While I do wish they did had a classic hot chocolate, they did have a lot of other seasonal options available! Overall we spent around an hour and a half at Rob Roy and had a blast. Various bartenders were chatting with us throughout the night and the ambiance of the bar was just magical. Will definitely come by again when I'm in the area and it's holiday season (:

Came here with some friends to check out the xmas themed. It's so festive inside. I loveeeed it even though I'm sort of a grinch. Very busy and I totally understand why. Lots of picture worthy decoration. We all ordered a few drinks to try and it was pretty good, some were strong! You have to order off their menu but that's fine. I can see why trying to order drinks not on the menu when it's busy would be an issue. We stayed for a bit to chat and then headed across the street to try another festive bar. Service was great. Staff is really friendly and nice. Wait wasn't too bad to get in either.

Cute speakeasy-esque spot. We went when it was all decorated for Christmas. Drinks are like $18-25 (pricey) and you can purchase the mugs too. Fun glasses / mugs and craft drinks. Large drink menu with a few food items, mostly carb based. Don't recommend coming with a large party. We were squished into the bar (party of 5) on a couch shared with a few people.

What a festive spot! Came here the night before thanksgiving for the Miracle bar pop up. The only drinks on the menu are the holiday-themes cocktails. We were totally fine with that as it was our reason for coming. They had small bites/food but we only came for drinks so didn't try any food. It's completely decked out in holiday decorations. We had very attentive people taking our orders and bringing our drinks. My only note is that the drinks are expensive. Nothing under $18. But for a couple festive drinks, it was worth it to us. They are well made and tasty.

Drinks: Went for the Black Lagoon Halloween event. The drinks were ok, but ultimately overpriced and not something I would come back for. I live in the area so I realize the pricing is similar but the portion sizes were small and there was a lot of ice in our drinks. Service: Honestly our server forgot about or ignored us after we ordered our first drinks. She then forgot to put in a drink order and it took 20 min or more to flag her down. We had to order from and then check out and get our card back from another server entirely. It was fine because we weren't in a huge hurry but it definitely put a damper on things and I'm sure there were a lot of folks waiting outside in the cold while I was inside waving like a weirdo at our server. Ambiance: The ambiance is honestly why I went and why I'm giving 3 stars. All servers were in costume and the decor was cool. I loved the spooky nods in the music and overall it was more about the Halloween experience than it was about the other two. Fun to try once but wouldn't return for future halloweens. Better spooky cocktails elsewhere. But I will give it another go for the Holiday pop up.

Good ambience and vibe. I had very high expectation from the vibe and all positive reviews on yelp. However, the drinks were so bad. We could hardly finished it off. We ordered "Moon Death" and "Blueberry Hill" Blueberry Hill was seasonal and expensive. If I am paying $18 for one drink, I would expect a strong drink, however, it was super diluted and was wayyyy to sweet. I won't recommend this place at all. Was a huge bummer

    Inside for Halloween

I've been to Rob Roy on multiple occasions, for both their Halloween and Christmas pop-up bars. I love how detailed they are with their interior decorating when they're setting up for these themed bars! It really feels like the holidays came and threw up all over the inside of the bar, and I eat it up every time. The space is small, so each time I've come I've had less than ideal seating. There's a long table against the wall in the back which is usually able to accommodate my large party, but everyone has to sit on one side and face the wall, so I usually just end up standing at the other end so I can talk to my friends. Sometimes there can be a really long wait outside to get in too, especially if it's for their themed holiday bars, so be prepared to dress warmly for that. The drinks themselves are pretty good. They usually play well into the theme, arriving in a festive mug and having a silly name. It is a tiki bar, so a lot of the drinks are rum based, which can be a positive or negative thing depending on your taste. Overall, I'd probably continue coming back to celebrate the holidays. It's a good way to get into the festive spirit, and it's right down the street from Navy Strength, which also does similar themed pop-up bars. I can't say I'd be all that interested in returning for just any other regular occasion, but their holiday bars are definitely something worth going out of your way for.

We came to Rob Roy's "Black Lagoon" this past Friday. I loved how they decorated! It was spooky and very creepy (in a good way). They captured the look of the Black Lagoon and they nailed their presentation. Book of Blood-if you dislike beets as passionately as I do, you will taste them here. With that being said, elements of this drink were good. If the beets were not present, I would have been all over this. Death Rattle- this drink was so fun. It was served in a tiki mermaid and was very tropical. I would have preferred more lime and less orgeat to make this a little more tart and less sweet, but this was very tiki feeling. I would say for the cocktails themselves, they were decent. While there were things I would have changed, the quality was definitely there, and I enjoyed the conversation with the bartenders and the ambiance. They are absolutely worth a try!

Came here twice this week already for the Christmas drinks they have, they are fabulous! Of the 3 I tasted, I loved the a hot mulled wine cocktail, Santabsolutely m***f** (it's that really!) and the Nutty one. Go there as uts a pop up till Chrismas! The place is decorated so well, it feels like Christmas already!

Some friends & I went here last night for drinks. This place is amazing! One of the most festive places I have been to yet. The whole place is decorated with wrapping paper & all the fun Christmas decorations. There is Christmas music played the entire time. All of the drinks are Christmas themed. I had the bad Santa which is served hot with spiced rum & oatmilk, it was super yummy & creamy. Also had the egg nog which was equally as good. All of my friends had different drinks as well. Everyone seemed satisfied. The service was great. Our server was definitely in the Christmas spirit & just had a great attitude overall (Sophie I think was her name?) Will definitely come back here before Christmas again.

Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year. I underestimated the attractiveness of Happy Hour where many drinks are $1 to $3 off. The place was full and became even fuller (and louder) by the end of our meal. This bar is hopping with many regulars, alcohol-filled, with multiple screens televising sports. When we went in October, the food menu says the food is discounted 25% off during certain late hours. The current online menu doesn't say that anymore. Not sure if that deal is still available. Our server was easygoing. Note they charge 3% for credit card use. The Food: SRB Burger, $22 - 3 Stars Menu: Painted Hills beef, burrata mozzarella, basil aioli, arugula, pickled onions, hand cut fries Per the menu description, this burger sounded great. Unfortunately for hubby, this burger has the exact pet peeve that he dislikes the most - where the patty is small and tall (he calls it ball shape) compared to the bun. The patty diameter is significantly smaller than the bun. He literally hates that. I had to tilt the camera much lower to see the patty inside. On the plus side, the fries are great. Grilled Shrimp Club, $24 - 3.5 Stars Menu: bacon, lettuce, tomato, house made guacamole, roasted chipotle aioli, hand cut fries This club sandwich is very good except for the one thing that the menu didn't specify - the bun. They use ciabatta bread, which I find doughy, thick, and overwhelms a sandwich. That is my pet peeve for a sandwich. Neither of us is betting well on this night. They are probably more of a 3.5 Stars overall. We find their prices to be high, especially since they additionally charge a credit card fee. When we went, the cost was $21, $23 respectively. The prices are now $22 and $24 per online menu. I would not return for food only. I would return for a bar vibe.

I would love to have a nice bar to patronize, but the bar food menu doesn't match bar food vibe. I am curious what dinner would be like here. Whoever owns this bar and whoever is curating this menu is absolutely a music head. No debate. And here's your gentle PSA: please pass that love of music AND hip-hop history to your waitstaff. Because what happened to me... was personal. There are three drinks on the menu that basically scream, "someone in here grew up on hip-hop and never emotionally left the 90s." We've got: ATLiens Aquemini 2 ____ a Butterfly (fill in the blank, but if you know, you KNOW Kendrick Lamar, 2015) Now listen this is not "aqua-mini." This is Outkast. Andre 3000. Big Boi. Southern rap royalty. It is pronounced Ah-kwim-in-eye The waitress looks me dead in my soul and says, "Oh, you mean the Aqua-mini." I was transported out of my body. Now here's the issue: I would've let it go...if a Kendrick Lamar song wasn't also on the menu. Because why are we confidently mispronouncing Outkast while casually referencing Pulitzer-level rap on the same drink list? At that point I realized I was surrounded by people under 34 who had never had to wait for TRL, decode a CD booklet, or defend Southern rap. No one in my group shared my emotional breakdown. Not one gasp. Prices & Drinks (important part): Let's talk about the $18 drink situation. I paid $18 for an Aquemini and received...vibes. Not buzz. At $18, I expect at least a whisper of alcohol. Instead, I got decorative hydration. My husband's Blueberry Smash? Better. More flavor. More personality. So now I'm sitting there thinking: I paid premium pricing for a drink I had to defend and pronounce correctly myself... and still left sober. Food: I was a little hungry and ordered fried shrimp (not on the online menu) The shrimp was fine. Just fine. The dipping sauce tried its best, and I respect that effort. Why is everything either wagyu, mussels, duck, or something you need a culinary degree to pronounce like gruyere but I can't just get a basic bar plate? Wagyu sliders, chicken bites would have been nice because I don't usually go out thinking, "Tonight feels like Wagyu and mussels at the bar." Service: I'm from Los Angeles, so I'm familiar with urban sketchy with a side of vibes. The activities near the parking spaces was very sketch. I was with a group of 8, including my husband so I felt protected by numbers. Inside, it was a Friday night but surprisingly empty. The music was loud enough to feel like a party, but quiet enough that you could still hear each other. We tried to rearrange seating to accommodate our group and the waitress said "I'm not walking around you, so keep this aisle clear." Which was fair, but also, there are gentler ways to say "I need this walkway." Or tell us the better way to set up seating in the empty bar. I didn't have a second drink frankly because I was never asked. Most places I go the waitress will come and ask if I want another drink. I don't live in Seattle, so this was my intro to night time bar life in the city. Sleepless in Seattle? I think in 2026 it's more like Sleepy in Seattle by looking at the emptiness.
