The drinks were fine and well made. The ambiance was... kinda weird. There were two other groups in the whole place when we showed up and one left pretty quick and the other group seemed to just be sleeping or hanging out on the couch. They eventually left too. As a vibe, that's not what I'd necessarily expect for a bar, but it was too chill. Dead really. The decor was cool but the whole place smelled like weed. The bar tender seemed to be going back and forth between the back a lot, which was fine because there was arguably nothing for them to do, but it felt a little like we had some well-mad drinks in a friend's basement and they left. For the price and the vibe, we probably wouldn't come back but it seems like a chill place if you're in the area or if you don't want all the hustle and noise of the billiards bar upstairs.

3.5 stars The Pharmacy is a lounge located downstairs from inside Temple Billiards. There are a variety of couches of different shapes and styles making the room a little eclectic. I came in on a Thursday and it was pretty much empty. My first drink was the last word ($13) which was a delicious classic drink that I haven't had in a while. My second drink was the royal bermuda yacht club ($13) which was just okay. I watched the bartender make this drink comparing it to the ingredients listed on the menu and some were different for some reason? Not sure why. The bartender mentioned that he's usually the only one working most of the time, maybe two if there's a big event. He said that means if it gets busy all of a sudden, it might take some time before people get their drinks so just beware of that. I also thought it was a bit weird and shady that the menu didn't have the prices of the cocktails listed. Other than that, it's a nice lounge with a chill vibe.

We played pool at Temple upstairs last night and didn't realize that The Pharmacy was a separate bar. It was very empty throughout the night, guess it's not a popular or well-known bar. Quirky and chill spot with lots of lounge seating. I ordered two drinks and they were underwhelming. Way too sweet and tasted way too artificial which was disappointing. Nothing special to note about the service. The bartender was fine, just asked what we wanted.

Low key speakeasy underneath a pool hall. Space is cozy with little nooks for privacy. Cocktails are cute and refreshing. We got: - Grave flower: very sour - Paloma sour: very unique and candy like flavor

This bar is nothing special, and we discovered it accidentally while visiting the Temple Billiards place upstairs. We got a few beers and cocktails, but they were whatever. I recommend only ordering beer, as the cocktails were too sugary. No one was here, but I'm not surprised because this place was not the cleanest. Also, the server at the bar was not there many times, resulting in us having to wait to order drinks. If you have to wait for a pool table from Temple Billiards, this is a decent place to stay, but I would never go to this place for another reason.

Hmm i went in on a saturday night around 9 pm and it was dead empty. Lol there were people coming in and go but this place never gets crowded. I guess if you like the chill vibe where you can talk to people without having to yell at each other and wait forever for drinks, this is the place for you! Drink price is a bit high imo, anywhere from 15-20 ish. I got the aviator? Which the bartender said it was the sweetest drink. It was aight. They have a different pub upstairs with pool tables so i guess if you want more interactive activities after getting some drinks i guess you could do that. Strongly recommend uber since it's located in downtown. It's not really a speakeasy bar since you just go downstairs!

A basement speakeasy...the alluring back door actually has a sign that directs you to enter through the pool bar. Down the stairs you find a dark colorfully lit basement lounge full of 70s dated furniture. A counter is off to one side where you can order your choice potion. The selections are many, all of them tasty and the menu booklet is well organized. What will it be?

Cut and chill little basement speakeasy in Pioneer Square. Stopped by on here on the way to the Mariners game to pregame and we loved it. It also helped that we won the game haha

What IS this place?!? After a Mariners game, the SO and I were thirsty and found the Pharmacy via a small sandwich board on the sidewalk. With some help from yelpers we managed to find it in the basement of a billiards bar. That's only where the weird starts. We walked in and it was empty. Just the two of us and two very bored bartenders. Luckily that meant that they were a captive audience and willing to chat about cocktails. For as bizarre of a location as it is, their cocktail list is rather impressive, including some rather uncommon liquers and bitters which jazz up some classics. As the night progressed more folks stumbled in, the lines to get more cocktails became unacceptably long, and we decided to grab the check and head home.

So cool! Stumbled upon this basement cocktail bar after a Mariner's game when we were waiting out traffic before heading home. There is a separate outdoor entrance you can take to get in, but it wasn't open. You have to enter through Temple bar and then go down the stairs to the basement. It was a little stuffy and congested in there (maybe because it's a basement?) but the vibe and drinks were awesome! Cocktails were creative and couches were comfy. They had the mariners game on so it would be a cool place to chill if you wanted to find a bar to watch the game.

Strong drinks, quirky decor, and just an overall chill place! I stumbled upon the Pharmacy while dining out in Pioneer Square. This place is so unassuming, and actually is accessible though the Billiards bar in Occidental Square. Don't be discouraged by it's weird location, you will not be disappointed. Their decor is very quirky, a little vintage, and a whole lot of funky. Sprinkled with neon signs. It always feels like a very relaxed environment. The drinks take some time to come out when it's busy, but they are really doing their best back there in their small space and loads of spirits to store. Their menu is extensive and is organized by spirits, and some house favorites. My go-to is the Corpse Reviver, which is what I get when I don't know what to get because of all the options! You cannot go wrong with any drink really, and we closed the place down twice, so safe to say it's very inviting and relaxed environment. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

Chill spot for drinks with comfy seating. Menu is extensive, so everyone should be able to find something. I've come twice and each time I didn't like my drink that much. Good enough to finish, but not to order again. My drink last time was the Painkiller. I also tasted the other drinks I have pictured, but those don't hit the spot for me either. Photo Mentions: - Painkiller $13 - Neptune's Blanket $13 - Blood and Sand $13 - Raines Law Room's Wildest Redhead $14 ***** My Star Ratings: 1 Star - Terrible. Just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars - Meh. Unlikely for me to return. 3 Stars - OK. Open to coming back, but wouldn't go out of my way to. 4 Stars - Yummy! Will definitely return if I haven't already. 5 Stars - AMAZING!!! Would plan my day or even a trip around eating here.

While reservations aren't technically required, let me save you some heartbreak, make one. They only open reservations six days in advance, and this place fills up faster than brunch spots when the sun comes out in Seattle. Totally worth the planning. The experience starts downstairs at Tavern Law restaurant, where you let the host know you're headed to Needle and Thread. From there, you're directed to a mysterious locked door next to a telephone. Yes, an actual phone. Pick it up, give your reservation name once someone answers, and bam! You're buzzed upstairs like you've just passed a very classy secret test. Once inside, you're greeted and escorted to your seat, and the magic really begins. There's no drink menu because why limit creativity? Instead, the staff plays cocktail therapist, asking about your favorite spirits, flavors, and moods. Based on your answers, they craft a completely custom drink tailored to your palate. Every cocktail we tried was spot-on. Balanced, intentional, and clearly made by people who treat mixology like an art form rather than a guessing game. Bonus points: You can request the coaster they took your order on, which lists the ingredients so you can attempt to recreate it at home (results may vary depending on your confidence and liquor cabinet.) Not to be overshadowed by the drinks, the Sockeye Salmon Crostini was a fantastic fresh, flavorful appetizer and the perfect companion to a night of bespoke cocktails. They have other heartier food as well, but we had dinner reservations elsewhere for the evening. Between the immersive entrance, outstanding service, thoughtful drinks, and authentic speakeasy atmosphere, this isn't just a bar, it's an experience. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.
