Green Swizzle. It's not as sweet as it looks and more delicious than it sounds.

Solid 4 stars even though we only had two drinks. But open late on a weeknight, dark and sexy, with an attentive bartender who made a great Corpse Reviver, then suggested the Green Swizzle that has no right being as good as it was are all the reasons to visit again.

Can I just say that I absolutely love that this place is open until midnight. There aren't many places around with great food, a great patio, and open late. They recently changed their menu, and this steak dish my partner and I had was excellent. The slaw is onions, garlic, green onions, and tasted almost Korean. I would suggest getting rice with it, but that's just my preference. There are no fillers as-is, though! Which is always nice. On warm evenings, they open the restaurant windows and it's an indoor/outdoor feel. They also have 3 large patio tables available. The service is ok, nothing special, but not too bad. Will be back late-night to try the drinks and grab more of the shrimp chips (so good)!

This is a long overdue Yelp post for my visit on 8/12/20 to Oliver's Twist over in Phinney Ridge. Note: this was only for takeout and trying Cambodian cuisine for the first time. I never tried this spot preC19 for cocktails and small plates, sigh now I wish! After studying the posted menu, I ordered the following items: Twa-Ko sausage, got 1 not 2 ($5) Kroeung spare ribs, got 2 not 1 ($5) Braised pork belly with bamboo shoots, egg, and rice ($15) Chix Bobun noodles with aromatics, vegies, egg roll ($15) The Homie and I tasted all items, fascinating flavors and glad we gave it a try. Service was welcoming. The only thing was that off was the mushy steamed rice.

Update 2021: Something soooo good to have come out of the pandemic. The flavors are so easy to like. Chicken rice or noodle bowls are packed with refreshing flavors, not overly heavy. Spring or eggs rolls, can't go wrong. When the short rib or Congi are on menu, you must try. The country bowl (8/2021) is so rich and , deep with flavor. And of course you can't go wrong with a classic Oliver's twists cocktail. My go to is a pisco sour or maylie. Thank you Olivers twist for continuing to adapt and serve up amazing food and cocktails. The staff are the best!

Just the absolute perfect spot for everything from to-go cocktails to some of the best food I've had in recent memory. They have done a fantastic job pivoting from their awesome cocktail bar pre-pandemic... to one of the best food options in Phinney - if not all of Seattle. If I could give ten stars for the pork egg rolls alone, I would. But don't stop there! The kroeung chicken rice bowl and pork bobun vermicelli noodle bowls are SO GOOD. Wash them down with a signature cocktail (highly suggest the Old Sally - beautifully house-made blackberry/sage shrub with bourbon) and you've got yourself a wonderful evening. Karuna and the team do a remarkable job of being the best team making some phenomenal food/beverage options. They are a blessing among this neighborhood. All of the Cambodian food options are not to be missed!

I came here on a weekend evening at about 8pm. I came in a group of two and was seated immediately. We at first had a little spot in the back at a bar table but then once a bigger table opened up the waiter kindly offered it up to us and we switched places. The place has an intimate vibe that is dark and cozy. I did not get a drink but I got the braised pork rice bowl and it was delicious! It was the perfect food to warm myself up during a rainy cold night. I definitely would come here again for a drink and dinner.

Oliver's Twist is cozy and full of small neighborhood charm. Comfortable seating areas with options of table or bar top makes for an ideal place for group gatherings. The low light ambience and candle lights adds a touch of coziness. I met up with friend for happy hour This place offers small to medium sized plates similar to tapas. The bartender will gladly customize drinks upon request. Here are the items we tried: Truffle popcorn: I recommended at least trying the truffle popcorn. They are addictive and perfect for sharing. Bleu cheese bacon stuffed dates: These dates are delicious, rich, and flavorful. I love how they stuffed the dates with chopped bacon. There are 4 pieces per order and are also perfect for sharing. Grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup: This is the perfect comfort food. The bread was crispy and the cheese was perfectly melted. The tomato soup was rich and creamy. Lacinato kale: This dish had an earthy flavor, however a little bland for my taste. I can barely taste the garlic or chili. Definitely heavy on the lemon juice. Mayle (cocktail): My absolute favorite absinthe cocktail. The concoction of pear nectar, rosemary, vodka with a hint of absinthe is tasty and powerful. Tom Collins (Cocktail): A refreshing gin based drink with nicely balanced citrus taste. Service was top notch and our server always stopped by to chat.

Such a cute time warp of a place located on the border of Phinney Ridge and Greenwood! My friend suggested it for a sunny spring evening and it was simply delightful! We sat in the front window (warning it gets quite hot up here!) and we asked the server if we could possibly open the sliding garage type door - she was happy to oblige in no time at all! The atmosphere is like that of an old saloon mixed with a speakeasy. The restroom has an old gothic feel and further adds to the period decor as the window is shaded with a heavy black velvet curtain. Food and drink here were wonderful - full of flavor with balanced textures. I enjoyed the truffled popcorn so much I had to order a second order of them - for $3 during happy hour one can hardly say "no!" I pulled the bacon out of the stuffed dates so I could try them and they were such a delicacy! The tomato cappuccino with grilled cheese was probably the best grilled cheese/soup combo I've ever had. It was very rich in flavor so I'm glad I shared it with my friend! The kale was more of a stewed spinach type of dish than what I would have hoped for (kale caesar or something light) but if you like the taste of kale this will be up your alley. I like my kale flavor well hidden by other flavors so this was not as exciting of a dish. My friend ordered the pate and said it was pretty bland and tasted only of chicken flavor. She ordered that and the cheese plate and was disappointed that most of her options for food were toast or bread slathered in oil or butter. I enjoyed the hazelnuts on both the dates dish as well as the cheese plate. I thought the fruit compote on the cheese plate was also very complementary to the brie.

With a dedicated menu for gin cocktails to an extensive array of different distillers, I was amazed. We enjoyed our cocktails thoroughly and also enjoyed some light bites. The arancini was a special of the evening and came out perfectly hot and crispy. The calamari was also fried very well. I did dock a star because about 80% of the food items on the menu were unavailable even though it wasn't closing yet. We did also get a little lost and ended up at stumbletown's sandwich shop before we found our way here. Luckily they're close by each other!

We walked in as a party of 2 on a Thursday around 9pm and it was not too busy - probably half the bar was occupied. We opted to sit at one end of the bar because the bar seats are where the vibes are at. The place is decorated in a fairly elegant and old school manner, so you are somewhat transported away from the outside reality. We got the Tobe's Thique Mint and Garden Party. I loved the creaminess and cinnamon afternotes of Tobe's Thique Mint, and it also looks somewhat pretty. It is quite a heavy drink, so one was enough to fill me up. The Garden Party was a bit of a miss since as much as I tasted the orange and grapefruit, it was a very light drink and tasted a little watered down. The biggest plus is that the drinks are fairly affordable compared to the greater Seattle area, priced at $14. I liked how their menu says 14 for $14, as they have just 14 cocktails to choose from and the drinks seem to rotate seasonally. For us, we went just in time to still have the spring menu, but they will change to the summer menu on June 20.

We ordered munchies and drinks while we waited for our table at Delancey. The bartender / server knew we would be headed to Delancey in 40 minutes or so, and handled things well accordingly. We got a plate of olives (tasty, great finger food) and drinks. The Yonder cider was good, not too sweet. The Martini was tasty. I had two quibbles: The first was with the pricing: the martini was charged as two separate items: 1) gin (I suppose the charge varies by the kind of gin or vodka in your martini) 2) martini (which is apparently the non-vodka or or non-gin part of your drink) While I'm sure this makes it easier to track for the bartender and inventory, as well as for charging, as a customer, it's a little odd to have a mixed drink be a two-part charge. The second was the included 20% automatic gratuity. I don't object to the concept of a standard service charge, I just wish it had been more prominently displayed so that I wouldn't have added a 20% tip on top of that (and my tip was on the amount that included tax, service charge and drinks / food). So, buyer beware ... the service is good, the ambiance is nice, the food and drinks are good -- but the payment / billing is non-standard, and can cause unexpected surprises.

I am showing my age by saying the restaurant is VERY LOUD, and our table was in a very dark spot in the restaurant. Oddly, they didn't have enough table lamps for all the dark tables. Our server said they "ran out". How does that happen? I stalked a departing table to take their rechargeable lamp. Anyway, my expectations were likely too high going in, and I was annoyed before even ordering, turning on our cellphone light to read the menu. The food is pretty good, though not mind-blowing good like the reviews suggest, and we had one bad dish. They offer varied Khmer dishes beyond noodle varieties, which is a plus. Go if you are looking for variety, skip the fish, bring ear plugs, and hope you have a brighter table than ours. Parking is street only. 3 Stars for the food, minus 1 star for the restaurant environment (unrelated to staff) The Food: k'tiss dip with crudités, $18 - 4 Stars We chose the marrow stone blue oyster mushroom option - p'set. The mushrooms are sautéed in Khmer seasonings, fermented bean curd, and coconut milk. The veggies are mildly pickled. The chicken is lightly fried, not crispy outside, super tender, and paired well with the kroeung aioli. trei chmouy tuk tei omperi, $40 - 1 Star The menu says serves 2 but not really. The is a pan seared fish, make your own fish wrap. We did not know we ordered a DIY dish, which is ok in principle, just not good to be surprised. The menu doesn't say so; the server didn't mention it. Luckily, by this time of the meal, we have acquired the little table lamp, which enabled me to see the long fish bones that had not been removed. FIVE of them. The noodles are a pathetic overcooked limp pile. The best part is the turmeric sauce. Do not order this dish. Epilogue: I happened to walk by Sophon this past weekend. I was surprised to see a sign saying they are temporarily closed to resolve internal issues. (See photo) That is never a good reflection of management. There is now a GoFundMe for the unpaid staff who had to quit their jobs.

Alex, Trent and Jonah are great, you can tell they care about the establishment they work for. Each drink had its own character and profile. The upstairs area is where it's at. The atmosphere up there just hits different, perfect energy that makes you want to stay all night. Pro tip: if you go on Sundays, up-and-coming house and EDM DJs to perform. It's a great way to discover new talent. I recommend dropping in on the weekend.

My boyfriend and I had a great time reading our books and taking cute aesthetic pictures for our Instagrams. The only thing that kind of threw me off is that fifteen minutes before we were about to leave, a couple on a first date was seated adjacent to us and were talking super loudly.
