It's good. It gets crowded and there isn't a lot of space to get comfy and stay awhile ( and drink and chat). I've been three times now just to grab a drink and catch up and it's been loud and hard to chat. That's not a true criticism but observation on ambience. Oliver's has a really wonderful atmosphere and hopefully it doesn't sound too weird but the coolest bathrooms. Drinks are good and the truffle popcorn is great. Food is good not great and on the expensive side for what it is. The stools for the non-booths tables are pretty uncomfortable. Great spot for a nice evening out to have a conversation and some libations but would recommend grabbing dinner elsewhere. read more

I've lived in this neighborhood for about 5 years and, despite there being tons of great restaurants and pubs nearby, Oliver's Twist has maintained the title of my favorite spot. Their cocktails are the best in the city and the food never disappoints. Do yourself a favor and get the wings and a Duff and Blathers - both amazing. This place is five-star for the food and drinks alone, but I wish there was an extra star for businesses that make the community better. OT regularly donates to feed and help those in need, and the owner is a great person who works hard next to their staff. I can't wait for my next visit! read more

Charming little place in Phinney Ridge with a great ambiance and amazing drinks! Be aware that the sign is pretty small and dimly lit, so you may very well just accidently pass this place by. Also, It is located in a bit of a random location in Phinney Ridge, so not much to do in the area. I was looking for a cool new place to grab drinks, so stumbled upon Oliver's Twist. My friends and I only got drinks here since we were going on our monthly foodie restaurant hop! We got the garlic truffle popcorn to share, and I got the Stiggins (made with pineapple rum) to drink! This was quite a while ago and I don't currently see it on their menu, but I'm sure you could ask the server/bartender about it. The Stiggins was delicious and very aesthetically pleasing. Overall, I'd say the ambiance, drinks, and service are great!! It's a bit out of the way, but hope to be back in soon for snacks & drinks. read more

This is a great place for some amazing cocktails and food. During the pandemic they pivoted to doing take out with a Cambodian food menu which is fire. Get the stuffed wings. The truffle popcorn there is also addictive. But the best part of this small business is the staff and the ownership. Karuna has a tremendous heart and very supportive of the community he serves along with other folks in the industry which is rare these days. read more

Oliver's Twist is a great neighborhood bar with fantastic cocktails. During the pandemic, they pivoted to to-go and added a fantastic Cambodian menu. Now they are open to in-person dining, with proof of vaccination. They have followed the science and know that vaccinations are the way we are going to get out of this pandemic. How nice to enjoy myself in a restaurant/bar and feel relatively safe. I am so grateful for Karuna and the OT staff for being leaders in this industry. Delicious food, superb cocktails, incredible good vibes. Pre pandemic this was a favorite date night spot for us, back when the food was bacon wrapped dates and truffle popcorn and so on. When lockdown started, they transitioned a takeout Cambodian menu, which was a revelation. Rice bowls with flavorful meats and bright pickled vegetables. Stuffed wings - I didn't know it was possible to stuff a wing, but it works great. A jackfruit bobun that is one of yr best vegan entrees I've had anywhere. When takeout cocktails became legal it was a relief and a delight to finally drink something mixed by a talented professional. To top it all off the owner is the sweetest guy - always a friendly word when we visited, always a positive force in the community. read more

I've been coming here since I moved to the area several years ago. It's always been an amazing little bar. I'd go there with friends, or even by myself a lot with a book. The owner and staff are awesome (and can make a mean drink). And the take out food they've been doing since covid started is incredible! Sometimes you just want to go out, grab a drink, and relax. You don't want to be bothered with the loud humming and buzzing of an overly crowded bar and waiting forever just to grab the bartender's attention. This is the place to go! The ambiance is dim and intimate. There's plenty of seating, both booths and at the bar. The bartender is very nice and helpful with selecting the perfect drink for you. During my visit I order the Miss Nancy which had a nice balance of alcohol and fruitiness. Then I ordered the Moscow Mule which I enjoyed even more. It reminds of the one from The Innkeeper in Belltown which is one of my favorites! It doesn't have that sharp ginger bite and yet it's still really refreshing. I like it my Moscow Mules smooth and well balanced with the vodka. They have an extensive drink menu that I'm sure will have a drink that tickles your fancy. read more

I am not a fan of change. I just don't like it, okay? I understand that it is innovative and edgy to be so awesome that you can seasonally or weekly change your menu and people still rave and visit your establishment. If I had a choice, I'd run a place just like Oliver's Twist-- same $hit every single day. Take it or leave it, bit#%es! Everything I have ever eaten here has been phenomenal. They actually steam tomato soup and serve it with grilled cheese. Tomato soup espresso! Garlic truffle popcorn! Some kind of crazy salad with crazy mushrooms (chanterelle) that I picked all the mushrooms off and devoured! Other crazy salad! Fingerling potatoes in duck fat! That sounds disgusting, but is awesome. Just trust me. Their craft cocktails are "twists" on old standbys, like corpse revivers, French 75s and the like. Expect prices right around every other craft cocktail bar in town. Good news is that they are strong and very tasty. I love this bar. Possible cons if you are lame: loud and dark in here. Edited to add that this is the only bar in Seattle anyone has ever bought a drink for me from across the room. ;) read more

I could sit here next to these open garage doors in the front of the restaurant and do work on my laptop for hours. It is comfy and there is nice chill music on. It's very eccentric in here with various art pieces and bright fun pillows to lean against and get comfy. My heart broke a tiny bit when they told me they had NO WIFI. I luckily used my hotspot... But please, please get wifi. It's just a necessity in a place like this. I've had the same waitress both time I've come, she has awesome lavender hair that I love. She's works at a comfortable pace. I have not eaten here. I prefer drinks. But I'm sure it's lovely! read more

I came back to Oliver's - this time looking for a serious Martini. The place was pretty quiet (a Monday night) which was perfect for my friend and me. We tucked ourselves away in a corner to enjoy some new cocktails and private conversation. Our server Nila (sp?) really made the experience even better than I could have hoped for. She was attentive, but not intrusive, friendly yet professional and did not give me a snobby look when I told her I was new to the world of Martinis and asked her advice on what/how to order. I asked for an extra dirty martini, and when she brought it she let me know to tell her if it needed to be dirtied up a little more. She returned after I had a few sips and gently asked if it was dirty enough. Normally I would have said yes for fear of server retaliation but she was so wonderful I happily let her know and she brought it right back - dirtier and absolutely perfect! Robert was behind the bar and my friend had him make a special drink "anything you want" is what he told him. Robert made a traditional 007 Martini and it was pretty damn great. I am now a Martini drinker and still a lover of Oliver's Twist. I thought about it a lot and I'm gonna say that I think that Nila is the best server I've ever had at a bar or restaurant. The best part: after two Martinis she asked if I was driving home before she served me another. This shows true professionalism... she not only cares about her job and the establishment she also cares about the patrons. Fantastic! read more

I meet my friend here for a cocktail before dinner one night. I loved this place the minute I walked in the door. The atmosphere had a great 'come, sit, drink and stay as long as you like' feel to it. It was a dim lit, candles dripping down the holders at the bar, romantic kinda feel to it. Our bartender was fabulous. Friendly, helpful with drink decisions and always on top of making sure we were happy. I opted for the duff & blathers: rye, averna, maraschino, orange bitters, black pepper tincture...up. It was so nice. Perfect bite of spice and warmth. We also got some small bites of garlic truffled popcorn and warm castelvetrano olives. Both were amazing!! I hope I get to make it back again sometime. It would certainly be a staple in my cocktail nights if I lived here. read more

My negative experience can all be wrapped up in the fact that the manager (who did not introduce himself, or give us any context as to who he was or where this was coming from) came over to our table and told us "since you aren't ordering another drink right now, we need you to leave" The drinks were fine. If you're looking for a bar to hang out with friends, I'd suggest coming here. On a Friday night, it was not crowded at all. My single girlfriend was telling me how it is hard for singles to meet guys because the scene is not very happening in places like Greenlake or Greenwood. The bar was mostly filled with ladies catching up and couples. The bar was kind of dark/dimly lit. The music wasn't too loud where I felt the need to shout. I thought the volume was set at a pretty good level. The drinks were okay - moderately priced. All their drinks cost about $6-10. I'd say the median price point is around $9. It isn't too expensive but then again, it is not set at a happy hour price. We ordered two dishes - the truffle popcorn and blue cheese dates. I didn't have the blue cheese dates so I can't say anything about this dish. The truffle popcorn was a disappointment. It wasn't fresh nor hot. The temperature of the popcorn was probably room temp and the seasoning was too salty. We sent it back. The bathroom was whimsically decorated. Oddly, it reminded me of the haunted mansion at Disneyland. Our waiter was very nice. He noticed that a drink was spilled and came by to wipe our table. The wife and I were truly infatuated with rhis place. After visiting Bruce Lee's grave, we made our walk to this place...Little did we know that walk involved walking around a lake, several parks, and a steep hill incline. But it was so worth it! Oliver's Twist is a small nit place like most places im Seattle that is more of a lounge. We had our 2 teens with us and upon arrival, being able to be seated was questionable. But, our server made accommodations to seat us near the window which was away from the bar and lounge area. We came during hh time, and ordered the garlic truffle popcorns, duck fat roasted potatoes with aioli, chicken liver pate plate, among other things that I can't remember. I also had a few Moscow Mule (hey it was a long walk and I was thirsty, and since no driving is involved, why not). The mule was delicious as other Yelpers pointed out. The service was also great. One of the managers there had long conversations with us and provided us with very helpful suggestions for our trip. I was in search for rare whiskeys for gifts for friends at home (although I wasn't crazy about the absurd Washington State tax on spirits). He introduced me to Westland Distillery. What a gem! This is one of the first times I've been to this neighborhood and it's a really charming little strip in a nice low-key neighborhood. It was a Thursday but man that place was hopppppin! Not in a bad way, either. So the inside is small, it's quaint. The layout is a little bit odd as it goes in back and deep. That's what she said. The 70's color scheme of browns and reds is a little off putting to me. The reds and oranges seemed a bit too pronounced for my liking, but as far as design goes it was nice. The weird masked aliens on the walls are a little strange too. We both got a couple drinks each. I got a girly drink to start with, mine had a sprig of rosemary in it, which we discussed at length as to why it is necessary and how it just a gimmicky and unnecessary addition to an otherwise perfectly good beverage. The lady had something equally as fruity and girly sans rosemary. We went for more classic drinks for round two, though I was happy to see that my absinthe came with all accessories for me to pour it myself! Washington State stuff. Nice! Perfect place for date night, though sometimes the music was a little loud. (good music, however) I didn't get to try food yet but it looks delicious and gives me a reason to come back. read more

This place is a great neighborhood bar! I love the ambiance and feel of the place; I'd say it's the lighting is a bit darker, but not that dark compared to other bars, but I'm okay with that! I was pleasantly surprised by the music selection playing here, maybe it's because it was the weekend? My friends and I ended up asking our server if it was a Pandora station and it was! "Jermaine Steward Pandora Station" was playing! I can definitely appreciate a place that serves great drinks and great music! I've had the garlic truffle popcorn and the grilled chocolate-marshmallow brioche sandwich which are both good. The popcorn hits the spot though when you're drinking! Forget the beer nuts/mix and have some popcorn! As for the sandwich, it was alright- probably because I'm not a big fan of marshmallow, but I still killed it! The drinks/cocktails are pretty awesome too. I'm a big fan of the giles and I appreciate that they actually serve a moscow mule in a copper cup/mug! Everytime I've been here, the servers and bartender have been very nice and pleasant. I'm happy that this is a neighborhood bar and not too far from my place!
