Hidden gem of a Seattle bar that has become one of my favorites. It's a one off all by itself but you'll be happy to have a couple rounds here, trust me.

Despite the perfect company and a funny hostess, I don't think this place is a 5 star place or even a 4 star. I think it's middle of the road. Which sucks because the reviews all looks fantastic. There's a front area for sitting outside which is about 6 seats and then there's inside seating all at the bar and then there's an outdoor area which is where majority of people sit especially during the summer. We came on a Monday night around 8pm and it was packed! Every seat was taken. We were outside and shared a table (the tables are huge / maybe it's two tables pushed together and so usually they split it down the middle and have 2 parties of 2 together or a party of four together). So you're close to another group and you definitely are in their convo. There's no way not to eavesdrop on them. There's a happy menu. Monday is all day happy hour. I had the sangria that day which was the special drink of the day and the charcuterie board which I was told was good enough to share but I like to eat and so if you're able to scarf down a lot of food, you probably won't wanna share. Ended up also ordering something from the main menu. It was some sort of artichoke dip and that was pretty solid. The drinks are creative and are the star of the show. The back garden on a sunny summer day is pretty cute and so props to them on that. The bathroom is also super cool. Low lighting and inviting. It's co-ed. They also have matches there for you to take. Been here once. I think that's enough. Probably wouldn't come back. If I did it's solely to finish off the rest of the drink menu. Wouldn't come here for food other than something to snack on. Wouldn't come for dinner.

Great neighborhood bar in Sunset hill. We came here on a Monday evening and it was surprisingly quite busy. We were quickly seated at the bar by the friendly staff. They have outdoor seating on their patio with heaters and in the front. The drinks were exceptional with creative names. My drink had gin infused with cardamom, fennel and other spices. My boyfriend got the firing squad which was smoky and refreshing. The food menu has an interesting selection of small bites. We tried their charcuterie board, Brussels sprouts and rockfish crudo. Everything was flavorful, the Brussels sprouts were our favorite. We finished off with the tres leches, which was a little dry. They rotate their menu frequently so we are looking forward to coming again to try more stuff!

Came here again. Still the same menu as I visited last and I'm ok with that! Tried more delicious cocktails. This place is amazing. Come here for elevated neighborhood vibes, down to earth service and exceptional food and drinks! We tried the tres leches cake! Omg.... After 4 nights of eating out on a staycation with a friend visiting Seattle, we both thought this was the best dessert we had. Sooooooooo good!

What a cute spot! There is a long indoor bar, and a garden area out back with plenty of tables. Best for dates or smaller groups, the food menu is small but delicious with the emphasis on the Wizard of Oz themed cocktail menu and the wine selection. My friend and I tried four drinks, both agreeing we liked the Sangria and the Good Witch best. You can tell a lot of thought has gone in to the cocktails - unusual ingredients, fun names and pretty garnishes! We also got olives to snack on, good but a few too many chopped walnuts in the bowl for my taste. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, helping us select the drinks and explaining flavor profiles. Would certainly return to try more of their food & cocktails.

Stopped in for a couple cocktails with my cousin...they were delicious and unique...all with SHREK themed names.

I have been wanting to check this place out for awhile but just hadn't taken the time to make my way up here from my part of Ballard. A neighbor friend and I have been taking weekly walks we decided to walk to this area to check out Molly's Bottle Shop boy was I happy when I realized Baker's was right next door. I've had other friends that have been here and said great things. We loved the bartenders very engaging and helpful. You can tell this is a place neighbors love to hang out it was doing pretty good on a Monday evening. They have a Happy Hour menu that has cocktails and food on it. We split the burger and Brussels sprouts. My friend had the WHITE PORT & TONIC and I had the Stop Naming Nuts off the HH cocktail menu they were $8 a piece. The food we selected was off of the regular menu. The burger was good you have the choice between a salad or bag of chips we went with the salad. The brussel sprouts flavor was good but say crispy and were just a little mushy. But still would order again loved the pickled tomatoes on it and had a nice char which I like. Looking forward to our next visit!!

After researching restaurants with patios all over Ballard, this one kept popping up and looked so cute! I wanted to have an outdoor dinner with friends for my birthday. Unfortunately they don't take reservations so just be warned that if you have a big group you might have to wait. Luckily we only waited about 5 minutes before a table was ready for my group of 5! We had a wonderful waitress who was very helpful and even when she made a mistake was totally apologetic and made sure the bill was all squared away! The cocktails here are so creative and delicious. We all loved the names and flavors! I also really liked that they have a low-booze section too for those lighter drinkers. For the food I shared the cheese and meat plates and the fresh baguettes with tomato butter! So good! I also had the lentil croquettes for my main course. Unfortunately the croquettes were not the best. The sauce that came with them was nice and the presentation was beautiful. That being said, I felt like the croquettes themselves needed a bit more flavor or moisture as they seemed a bit on the dry side. The sauce helped a lot but needed some more seasoning as it was pretty mild flavored. For desert, I loved the panna cotta! The coffee flavor was so good. We actually had two birthdays at the table so getting each dessert was perfect to try! The tres leches cake wasn't bad but more dry than I am used to so it depends what you like. All in all everyone had a good time and enjoyed the food. They even accommodated one of my friends who is vegan by removing the ricotta from the broccoli dish. There are vegetarian friendly items on the menu but overall not a lot to choose from. Would love to come back one day to sit in the backyard area again! Even has a cover to keep off the rain but the sides are all open.

Baker's is a solid choice for really it would seem any occasion - meeting up with friends, special get together or a date. This visit was part of a group for a Birthday get together and were able to get 'patio' seating in the back. This along with the other seating arrangements are nice, there is front outdoor seating, indoor bar seating and back seating which is all nice and decently spaced, complete with heat lamps and overhead cover which was great as it rained on and off throughout the visit. The Drinks to start were good. Love the names such as the Glam Rock Ski Suit and "This is an Outrage!". A mezcal drink that hit good after a long day. Appetizers were alright, more fancy than good tasting. The baguette was ok, not badly priced, best part was the smoked tomato butter that accompanies it. The cheese plate I think was a bit much if you get the "all" option. I only really liked the "rogue caveman blue". The meat plate, again, just ok. The "all" option will run $33 for all 5 of the meats. The Coro Salami and nduja were the best to me. The main course I got the Black Pepper Pork Loin. Fairly priced and easily the best part of the visit. Great presentation. nicely cooked and the adds like potatoes, peas and bacon were all spot on. The lingonberry jus gave it a nice color. I had a bite of the burger which was not bad, it comes with chips and they're generous with the Beechers. The waitress was great despite a few oopsies. So that was the only downside. I'd definitely come back for anything more than regular old night out if anything beyond drinks. It was fun time.

Honestly the perfect neighborhood spot. Great for the nights sitting at the bar, or in the early evening sitting outside on their back patio. Drinks are yummy but their food is also great too! Something cute, something light. Love the rotating themed menus-- which introduce you to new drinks and quirky old movies which you may or may not have seen. Their summer menu with names like "Ruby Rhod" and "Aziz, Light!" reminded me to show my boyfriend The Fifth Element which he loved. Big shoutout to Olive who always serves us when we stop by and is simply the sweetest. Thanks, y'all!

Happy hour specials! I always go with the server recommendation and they've never steered me wrong.

Another stop by Baker's reaffirms why we love this lovely neighborhood bar so much. Staff are so warm and welcoming from the moment you step in the door, and the wide array of craft cocktails really begs you to settle in and sample. It's that sampling that never disappoints. We popped in recently. I had a happy hour special for $8-the Glam Rock Ski Suit; a refreshing mixture of cranberries, vermouth, rosemary and lemon swirling together. Hubby had the Painkiller; a concoction of Baker's rum, pineapple rum, coconut juice, orange juice, and pineapple juice. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a great conversation with Maddie as she poured a variety of libations, which gave us an education. I met a girlfriend recently to celebrate leaving a job. The back bar is sweet; private, secluded and perfect for a quiet date. The seats outside are often the site of a busy energetic crowd and look like a lot of fun. Food is perfect for sampling too. I'm looking forward to expanding my cocktail even more--which will draw me back to Baker's again.

A girlfriend and I had reservations for 4pm and we got seated right away. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio, and we were sat next to their succulent wall. They have large heaters out there which put off so much heat! It was in the high 50's and we were very comfortable. For my first round of drinks, I ordered the Painkiller and she got a Walk- Off. We both shared a charcuterie board. We let them pick out our meats/cheeses. The bleu cheese was divine! For second round of drinks, I ordered a Sprezza and she got a Mexican Firing Squad. Service was incredible and we got to spend 2 hours at the table before we had to leave for the next reservation. Our tab was $90... a little higher than expected but it was worth it. I definitely recommend!

Steak Frites - nothing to write home about

Baker's, located in the picturesque Sunset Hills neighborhood, has a great atmosphere though I was underwhelmed by the quality, flavor, and creativity of the food and drinks. Each party gets its own covered dining booth, with its own heater. 1) Service (+): Our server was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We called to make a reservation a week ahead of time for a Saturday evening and there was no walk-in availability given there were only a handful of booths. 2) Ambience (+): I love the cozy and brightly lit atmosphere that the restaurant was even able to replicate outdoors! Each booth is surrounded by living art made from succulents. The restaurant had good COVID safety protocols with the server wearing masks and gloves the whole time. 3) Food (-): Unfortunately, none of the food was memorable enough to write home about. We got the classics: Steak Frites, burger, and French Onion soup. They all were decent but not unique or extremely tasty. A major disappointment was that the house burger didn't even come with homemade fries or potatoes - it came with a bagged chips! 4) Alcohol/Drinks (-): Baker's is well-known for its cocktails but I thought they tried a little too hard to differentiate the drinks, focusing too much on exotic ingredients rather than the actual taste of the cocktail. For instance, I ordered the Ambi-Turner, which featured a green celery-juice tasting base that I found repulsive. 5) Value for Money (+): The prices here are decent, with entrees around $20, and drinks around $10-$12.

Unfortunately not. We do love dogs, but even with the post-COVID scramble, the health department is still adamant that we not allow dogs on the patio.

Unfortunately, the outdoor seating will not be dog friendly, due to health department restrictions.
