    Chips & Dip starter

Wow! Definitely not pub grub, nor even pub food. Very different and aspirational!Such interesting dishes! We were warmly great by friendly hostess who acted as though she were expecting us and made us feel welcome. Our server was also attentive and perky. The place has a very friendly and homey neighborhood feel. We started with the chips & dip - an excellent caramelized onion concoction! For the main course, I had the brisket, which was perfectly prepared. The "potato salad" side was like none I've ever had before - fried or deep fried and accompanied by delightful veggies! The crispy shallots topping my brisket were also heavenly! The only slight disappointment was my husband's Pork Verde which, though quite tasty, was surprisingly light on meat. All in all, I would definitely recommend - just don't visit expecting run of the mill pub grub!

This time i tried something different, the fried chicken with biscuit and spicy sausage gravy. Delicious! The chicken was boneless and perfectly cooked and crispy! I don't usually like gravy on my biscuits but i may make an exception for this version. So good, and of course topped with a perfect poached egg. Husband had the smoked salmon scramble again and loved it. Good coffee.

This review was for a recent pop up dinner - although I am super curious to go back to try regular service. We dropped by on their Japanese themed popup night and tried a few small plates: beets tops to the bottom, cold smoked tomato, burnt leeks and onion with seaweed pesto, pork kutsune skewer, garlic jalapeño popper skewer, and mochi waffle with blueberry. We especially enjoyed the burnt leek - never had anything like it before- the leeks were roasted/grilled on the outside but sweet and succulent inside, the seaweed pesto added a great deal of salty umami and nutty flavor. Pork skewer was very nicely done as well. The restaurant is cozy inside almost all wood interior with metal ascent - interesting contrast with the Japanese food.

Loooove Union saloon!!!! Even looks like a saloon lol I'll definitely be going back - everyone was super friendly and helpful! You learn alot -about an establishment on how their chicken and waffles ie dark vs white meat and Union saloon crushed it with crispy juicy chicken thigh and fluffy waffle!! The only downside was their house made hot sauce is extra sour but it's all good bc I always pack my own

Don't underestimate the food here because it is absolutely delicious! Stopped in for a late meal and really enjoyed the rustic interior and open window floor plan. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The drinks were fantastic as well. We ended up going with the fried chicken appetizer, which was 10/10, crispy, tender and came with a great house made two-part mixed sauce. We split the pork and the salmon open face sandwiches which were also excellent. Tons of unique ingredients mixed perfectly together. Filling without leaving us feeling heavy. Also loved the kettle corn! Really great spot for some good food and drinks.

Union Saloon was the pick of the evening for a round of cocktails with friends on a Saturday night. We walked in to a pretty quiet restaurant, with dim lighting and a cozy vibe. I ordered the Italian Holiday cocktail which was amazing. It had the perfect amount of sweetness, and was served in a beautiful glass. Each person in our party throughly enjoyed their drinks, and it was the perfect place to end our night. We didn't eat, but their menu was intriguing. I'll definitely be back to try their dinner service!

How I heard of this place: A friend and I were getting together for brunch, but the spot we were most interested in trying wasn't yet offering their weekend brunch. We settled on Union Saloon, in her neighborhood. Type of cuisine: Typical American pub-style brunch fare, with cocktails, breakfast plates, including sandwiches and salads, granola and a limited array of morning beverages that do not contain alcohol. Ambiance: A corner bar in the residential Fremont area, where neighbors walk down the hill, and others combat traffic and street parking issues to visit. The outside looks cozy and inviting; from the mini patio outside to the busy bar-centered interior, seating is limited, and the patrons fill each spot. Dark and loud, the inside gives the feeling of a lounge, where everyone comes to forget their woes. What I ordered: The Morning BLT ($18) caught my eye at first glance of the Breakfast menu. Including poached eggs, bacon, tomato jam, greens, house mayo/mustard, sweety drops, served on a biscuit with a side of potatoes. Lingering over conversation, I topped off my meal with a glass of iced coffee ($4) and a side of simple syrup. What I loved: I really tried to find something I loved about the food, but struggled. Everything was dry, the potatoes tasted old and leftover. The biscuit was dry, even when I only ate half and tried to smother the yolk of the poached egg over it. The coffee was acidic and sour, but strong. The one thing I did love about the place was the location; I loved the corner building, the cute patio and easy-going quality once seated. Why I loved it: The allure and draw of a neighborhood spot is always there, with regulars to make you enjoy the experience, despite the long wait times to be seated, and the bland, dry foods. Cost: High

The server was really wonderful and kind. The food was pretty good - I wish they had more clear labels or more apparent labels for dietary restrictions. Thankfully our server was super knowledgeable and helped me find something that would work and was tasty. We also loved that we got to sit at a shaded table outside because they're dog friendly and we came with our pup. Would definitely come back!

    Mushroom scramble with duck confit

The food was ok for the price point, duck was super tasty and scramble had a nice funk to it from the leek and mushrooms. Fried chicken was juicy but could use less salt but more other seasonings. Biscuit was buttery but a little much. Staff all super nice! Got seated right away and they have nice outdoor seating as well.

Parking is really great here. You don't have to pay which is really nice. However, we're not from here so parking up a hill was a little scary. There is a lineup outside of the door as soon as they open even on a weekday! You can make reservation reservations, but we didn't. We also walked in right as they opened. The biscuits are great. It is a small up charge, but I recommend getting the up charge! The greens were really good very different but they were slightly cold. I didn't like the service when we walked in because we had a coffee that was from a coffee shop and they told us we couldn't bring it in, but they gave us a cup to change it into a glassware anyway. When we left, we asked for to go cut to put our coffee we brought in in. It's a coke cup so we could take it to go, but they told us that they didn't have any TOKO cups which I didn't really appreciate because we could've just put the coffee back in the car as we finish the breakfast. The portions are pretty large so you could share them. The area is super cute inside however breakfast did not allow me off my feet. If you do like hot sauce, they make a homemade hot sauce, which is really good!

We walked in as a party of 2 on a Thursday around 9pm and it was not too busy - probably half the bar was occupied. We opted to sit at one end of the bar because the bar seats are where the vibes are at. The place is decorated in a fairly elegant and old school manner, so you are somewhat transported away from the outside reality. We got the Tobe's Thique Mint and Garden Party. I loved the creaminess and cinnamon afternotes of Tobe's Thique Mint, and it also looks somewhat pretty. It is quite a heavy drink, so one was enough to fill me up. The Garden Party was a bit of a miss since as much as I tasted the orange and grapefruit, it was a very light drink and tasted a little watered down. The biggest plus is that the drinks are fairly affordable compared to the greater Seattle area, priced at $14. I liked how their menu says 14 for $14, as they have just 14 cocktails to choose from and the drinks seem to rotate seasonally. For us, we went just in time to still have the spring menu, but they will change to the summer menu on June 20.

Took almost an hour to get seated, but we were able to grab some drinks from the coffee shop on the first floor of the hotel, which was a nice option. Once we got upstairs it was gorgeous! Lots of great seating options both inside and out. The views of downtown Seattle and Bellevue were EPIC. The staff were very friendly as well! I have to say, for the price the food and drinks weren't at the level I expected. We ordered nachos, crab Rangoon dip, and pretzel bites. The nachos were probably our favorite, but they weren't anything special for $22. The Rangoon dip was mostly cream cheese and barely had any flavor. I think they were depending on the nori chips to bridge the gap, but those didn't taste the greatest. Finally the pretzel bites were okay, but nothing I couldn't get at another gastropub for a much lower price. The drinks were fine, but not that strong. I ordered the Glacier Peak which was beautiful and refreshing. We'll be back for the views and maybe a couple of cocktails, but I'd say if you're bar hopping, spend money on food somewhere else in the area.
