I was in the city again so where did I go to eat? Pablo y Pablo...twice...because I was that serious about them. Food/drinks: Vegan nachos with carnitas -- check! Still huge portions. Still delicious. Still gluten free friendly and dairy free. Watch out for jalapeños; the seeds are definitely in. Mulled wine -- yum! Agave daiquiri -- strong, interesting, wasn't my fave (didn't finish it). Sangria -- solid! Service: A little more than fine. Friendly. Helpful-ish. Checked in at the beginning but less so by the end both times (when a check in would have been useful). Food comes out quick. Ambiance: Still cute for happy hour, friend meet ups, date nights, etc. Not hurried or rushed. Consider a reservation if you want to be safe. Why 4 stars? It's really 4.5. Honestly, service plus the menu changed in the 2 days I was there, and I missed out on the hot chocolate drink I reeeeallllly wanted. Tried Pablo y Pablo for happy hour at 4:30pm on a weeknight last month and it was a delicious experience. We tried the chips and salsa, the braised pork taquitos, and several different tacos ($5 each). We had the pork belly taco, chicken tinga taco, and baja fish tacos. Everything was good but we both liked the fish tacos the best. They are fried and they give you a nice big hunk of fish. Because I can't eat dairy or avocado, our waiter suggested I get their vegan aioli on the side. So glad he did because it was delish! We liked all the special touches from the beautiful blue-and-white patterned plates to the dim candle lighting to the nice bathrooms with surprisingly pleasant-smelling hand soap. We got here about five minutes before our reservations and it seems like they were very slammed and we had to wait for about 5 minutes until we got seated, they were very nice about it and I didn't really mind the vibe is very nice and fun and the restaurant is very long. Overall all the food and drinks I thought were just okay, maybe I ordered wrong bc I keep getting recommended the margs. The lychee prickly pear one I ordered didn't taste very strong of lychee or picky pear but it is very very pretty. I thought the ceviche was just okay and not very flavorful , same with the corn. The ambiance was nice, and the service was fast. I was seated right by the restrooms in a completely empty side of the restaurant of course (I'm a POC). The food was incredibly mid!! My pork belly was hard and basically fossilized. Host was kind and friendly. Waitress could not care less, maybe she was going through something. Even my 7 year old was curious about what was wrong. I came for their Tofu Bahn Mi taco, because mixing Vietnamese and Mexican modern cuisines is my jam...but it was NOT available on a Saturday brunch. Meh. The drink selection at this nicely appointed dining room with glass walls overlooking the street and the utility waste transfer station opposite were swanky! I loved the "strawberry" horchata. My friend got a lovely tequila spirit drink which was subtle and less than a margarita, also with a strawberry twist. Their side dishes of green rice (arroz verde) and stewed beans were show stoppers. Could have made an entire meal of that alone. The habanero salsa was nowhere near as "spicy" as I expected. It was actually pleasant. Guacamole was also subtle and nice. We had a selection of tacos, baja fish - just fine oyster mushroom - just fine vegan chorizo - okay I've had better, rather too mealy meat chorizo - reportedly good In short, an elevated Mexican dining experience that I would repeat because of the fine setting and the beautiful bar. This is a great brunch spot; cute and lively ambience, good food, and friendly service. Food is flavorful and they have a pretty decent brunch menu. I had the pork belly Benedict. Eggs came out hard boiled, but they quickly gave me a set of poached eggs which were actually runny...so good save! The sauce had bold flavors; the pork belly was a little dry but they give you a big portion of pork belly, so that made up for it. My son had the taquitos off the kids' menu. It wasn't bad, but it may have been too "fancy" for him...the lettuce, cheese, and sour cream were garnished on top, which he immediately wanted off! I personally appreciated the presentation, but kids may not. I've had the tacos before... they're yummy and have unique flavors. If you're ever curious what it is like to have your favorite food from outside of Mexico in a tortilla, this is the place to go. Purposefully untraditional, and intentionally delicious. They have a screamin' deal every Tuesday that is worth coming in for. 6 tacos, chips and guacamole, 2 margaritas, and churros for something like $30 each. The churros were pretty weak though, almost like little munchkins from Dunkin Donuts. Pablo y Pablo is solid by most measures. Pablo y Pablo is my go to brunch spot after visiting Fremont Sunday market. It has great fresh ingredients and the portions are enough for two meals. The server came straight to us any time we signaled and we were served fairly quickly. I love the cute decor and the big window brings in lots of light. The bar also looked like it had great options even though we didn't order any thing. As for the food I loved the quality of the ingredients but I wish there was more flavor. Let's start with the great parts: The food! Everything that came out was beyond delicious and everyone at our table finished their plates. There was this salsa that the bartender recommended that was like sweet and savory - everyone loved it. I had the squash enchiladas and they were really good - perfectly cooked, lovely balance of flavors and just as delicious as leftovers the next day. My only reason for taking off one star is that the service wasn't great. Idk if they were short staffed but it was pretty mediocre. They never refilled our water and didn't clear our appetizer plates. So when our entrees came we didn't have enough space on the table and the server just handed me my dinner plate. like I was just holding my dinner in my hands while I waited for my friends to stack dishes and move plates. Even after that awkward interaction I still had to ask them to clear our appetizer plates because they brought us more chips but we didn't have anywhere to put them. I also noticed there was a table out front that had dirty dishes and it didn't get cleared the entire time we were there. So basically the staff left a table unbussed for at least 1 hour. The drinks were also delicious and the bartender was super friendly and helpful with helping us decide on the menu. The ambiance is great and I loved the music. It could be a really cool place maybe if you get the right servers? Or come on a day with buzzers? I'll probably give it another try since the food was so good. read more

My best friends and I came here for happy hour and we had an amazing time. I know we can be a tough bunch: gluten free, dairy free, and vegan. However, we were really impressed that all the dietary needs were met and the food was delicious. I joined my sister and had the vegan tacos. The tofu banh mi is to die for. The vegan dessert was unique and nothing like I've ever had. The horchata is dairy free and wonderful. I believe our server's name was Alberto and he was so kind. This was my go to during the pandemic and after. I really love how each item on the menu pairs well together. Their tacos, especially the mushroom vegetarian option are outstanding. I love their salad and house made salsas. You can really taste the quality in the ingredients and the amount of time it takes to prepare it. Their carne asada was cooked perfectly and their tortillas taste house made. Lastly, I really enjoy their ceviche. Having ordered from DoorDash multiple times, the food really stood the transportation time. Huge kudos to the chefs at Pablo y Pablo. During a time where elevated Mexican food is competitive, you stand out. I haven't had a chance to physically go to your restaurant and the outside looks very inviting and charming. It had plenty of salt and was incredibly refreshing. This was arguably some of the best guac I've held - I loved the kick from the jalapeños and the raw onions sprinkled on top. Chips were served fresh and warm! For dinner, I got the chicken enchiladas - you get a choice of red or green sauce, and I went with red. They were hearty and delicious. We love Pablo y Pablo! Nice outdoor patio seating, short walk from gas works park, delicious cocktails and mocktails, and vegan options! It's a pretty similar menu to their sister restaurant Barrio in Cap Hill, but I've tried the vegan ops at both and Pablo y Pablo is better!! The vegan nachos have a spicy vegan cashew cheese, and you can add beans or fake chorizo. They have plenty of toppings, pile of guacamole, pickled veggies. You can do a two taco plate with rice and beans (just ask for no cotija) and there are four vegan taco options. I actually really like the banh mi taco, very fresh and delicious, spicy too. My friend got the fish taco (not vegan) and said it was good. There's also a vegan chocolate mousse dessert! Didn't get it bc I'm not a huge chocolate fan. Friend got a spicy margarita (said it was spicy) and I got a fun mocktail called the pina granada with pineapple and pomegranate juice. We were stuffed! Couldn't totally finish the nachos but picked at them for a while. I love this place, great for vegans, vegetarians, omnivores. Patio is also dog friendly! You have the option of doubling it or getting a pint for $5 more - which is nice, and thinking back may have been the better value. To start was chips and guac of course. Not bad, not exceptional, a bit high at $12, the chips of course are unlimited. Along with that got crispy Brussels topped with nuts. I got the beef birria quesadillas (that I actually think were just tacos) a continued favorite of mine at mexi spots and it definitely hit the spot in the way of cheesy goodness. -corn tortillas (Which I am always pleased to see), Oaxaca & jack cheese, jalapeño salsa, cilantro, and of course with broth for dipping. There was plenty of it too. My Buddy got 'Taco duos' and they got the thumbs up from him. Living in Canada means absolutely no one knows what Mexican food is, especially for a Californian. I gave my friend the hard task of finding me quality tacos in Seattle and luckily, as a California girl herself, she'd had Pablo y Pablo before and knew it would hit the spot. We rolled over for a weekday happy hour and enjoyed margaritas, chips and guacamole, taquitos, and 2x of their happy hour tacos. The chips and guacamole, plus the excellent taquitos, really hit the spot for me. I ultimately went non-conventional and had their cauliflower taco which I truly enjoyed. Plus side, the menu is easy to read, gluten free options are clearly marked, and the bartender is not only an excellent mixer, but he was kind as well. We were hoping to do happy hour, but didn't realize it's only M-F (their website shows happy hour listed with the normal hours; you don't find out it's M-F until you click on the happy hour menu specifically). The artichoke taco was very good, but the cauliflower taco was just okay to me. The sides of beans were flavorful, but rice was a bit too salty and I couldn't taste much else. Carlos gave us great service during brunch! Breakfast tacos - you're able to order any of the tacos a la carte, instead of the 2 tacos plus side combo. The breakfast tacos specifically have potatoes inside, so if you get the combo - you'll get double potatoes. Brisket Skillet - this is served in a cast iron skillet, so it was still sizzling when it got to the table. There was more brisket in this skillet than I thought there would be, so this was very filling. The potatoes were crispy and delicious. It could have used a tad more salt, but that was an easy fix with a sprinkle at the table. I had a hot toddy(unspiked) to drink and it was truly a cup of warmth and comfort. The bartender made my cousin a custom drink - he even came to the table for a bartender consultation. After some questions, they ended up with a smoky breakfast-ish Old Fashioned! My new go to! My partner and I came in for Cinco de Mayo and got a great deal on drinks and food! The drinks are fantastic and not too expensive. Chips and guac was a great size for the price. They have a unique list of tacos that are amazing as well as a variety of entree style dishes. As someone who struggles to find good Mexican in Seattle, I really liked this place. Three of us arrived for Sunday brunch at 12:45. We had no problem finding a table inside. Although brunch goes until 3, it really starts to clear it by the early afternoon. Two of ordered tacos: chipotle braised chicken, baja fish, spiced steak, and sweet potato & poblano between us. We both liked the chipotle braised chicken the best, although my friend raved about the sweet potato & poblano (which I did not try, but will try the next time I go). The baja fish was okay: battered and fried. I've had better. Personally I prefer grilled fish if I'm going to have fish in tacos. The third member of our party ordered the chilaquiles with braised chicken. The chilaquiles consist of tortilla chips (softened through cooking, but still holding their shape), sauteed kale, onion-pepper rajas, corn, jack cheese, fried eggs, cotija and (in his case) the green sauce. And of course, the braised chicken. We all sampled this dish and it was absolutely delicious. I think I may order it the next time I come for brunch. Because we were on the late side, we had hoped to try their jalapeño pancakes, but they had long since run out. Disappointed, but I guess you have to be on the earlier side to try that dish. Food quality is outstanding and yes, it certainly is not "authentic" Mexican or even American-Mexican a la Cactus, Tex-Mex joints, etc. Vibe is wonderful despite how packed it was two days in a row.
