    Chicken Burrito Bowl
    Jane L.

Stopped in for a quick late brunch and we ordered a few tacos in addition to a burrito bowl to share. The burrito bowl is hefty fyi! During brunch, it typically comes with poached eggs as well. Upon asking if we could have them fried instead, staff were so kind and friendly to make the accommodation. Although my favorite dish probably leans the Fish Taco (devoured it before I could capture a pic). Perhaps something about being being wrapped in a warm tortilla.. Solid spot if youre in the ballard area!

TLDR: Restaurant week menu $35/person for app, entree and dessert. Lots of seating. Brunch menu available. Quick and considerate service. First time here on a Sunday after peaking at the Ballard farmer's market. We sat outside, and the heaters provided made it perfectly comfortable for a chilly day in Seattle. Unpictured: pineapple agua fresca was delish and refreshing. Portions were HUGE; great value for the price. Every dish also had a hearty amount of meat, which made it even more worth it. Plus, all the chicken was super tender! Appetizers and entrees came with a good mix of ingredients and flavors that made eating it exciting. The desserts weren't our favorite flavor wise, but the textures were also nice and soft. We could tell everything came out fresh, because they were piping hot ! (Except the salad ofc). Would come back for sure.

Seattle Washington The chips and salsa are important. They're not just something to tie you over until the food arrives... We always think that handmade chips, yes! And excellent salsa are a good indicator of things to come... I would definitely visit Gracia again. The food was delicious! High ceilings, clean, simple and well appointed the restaurant has an inviting and comfortable neighborhood feel. Hey, it's always cold in Seattle even in the summertime and a hot delicious bowl of pozole hits the spot every time. This was a delicious find.

Fish taco and brisket taco! Delicious freshness of the tortillas and crispness of the fish was very comforting on a cold February day!

It was a cold windy summer night when I wandered into the Gracia spot.. really really amazing. Was met with warmth, food and a bundle of joy. Sopa de Lima.. my all time favorite. I forget our servers name but she was wonderful. So so amazing. She came to check on us throughout the night, offered the best recommendations and even brought over hot sauces! Even though we were here around 10pm close to 11pm closing, they were still incredibly chill and friendly. Such a testament to a great staff. We ordered a variety of tacos, sopa de lima and some chips +salsa verde. Such an amazing spread with warmth, flavor and spice!!

Yummy food and great experience! Loved the outside area, but slower service. Portions were perfect and split this between 2 for a light dinner

5/5 Ambiance and service Great patio seating with music. Friendly service. Ambiance was amazing and festive 5/5 Chips and Salsa: flavorful 5/5 Black garlic sikil pak: unique flavors and very nutty 2.5/5 Huarache: carnitas were stewed tender but this flavor lacked flavors and didn't taste unique. The pork had a "porky" taste 4/5 enchiladas con mole 5/5 enchiladas suica: my favorite dish of the night!!!!!! Super refreshing taste profile and the cheesy texture/taste stood out and paired well with everything else

I think Gracia is great! It was a very packed evening and they may have been short staffed. Either way, the server was kind and did her best to attend to our needs. As for the food, i thought everything tasted great. Nicely plated tacos, chips and salsa to go with a great marg...at a typical Ballard restaurant price.

Gracia in Ballard is an easy five-star spot for Mexican food in Seattle. The vibe is cozy and lively without being too loud, and it feels like a great place to hang out with friends or go for a casual date night. The food tastes super fresh and flavorful, and the prices feel very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Their tortillas are made to order, and you can really taste that warm, fresh-made difference in every bite. The tacos are big, loaded with fillings, and honestly, a couple of them can be a full meal. Their in-house sauces are awesome. They are really flavorful with just the right amount of kick to level up anything you are eating. I also loved their hot fruit punch. It's a perfect cozy drink on a cold Seattle winter night. Don't skip dessert: the churros are unique and super good. They fry them in a donut shape, make them fresh to order, and serve them with warm chocolate sauce. They have just the right amount of sweetness and are the perfect way to finish the meal.

came in with some buddies for lunch and glad we did. Atmosphere is modern and inviting. Service was great and the overall experience was solid. The tacos were a solid portion size, meats were seasoned well and tender. The tamale special was BOMB. super moist, filled with tender pork and dressed with a great salsa, crema. the fried eggs complimented the dish well. I would certainly come back.

    Campechanos & Pescado Tacos
    Carol C.

Delicious tacos at Gracia in Ballard! At first I was skeptical about a $7.00 taco, but the meats are delicious and the filling is generous. I ordered the Campechanos (meat lover's) & Pescado (fish) tacos served on corn tortillas. They have two types of hot sauce and I went with the Habanero, which was on the sweeter side. Service was great! They provided great recommendations and let us know that there was a large party coming in 30 minutes while we were chatting away. Be warned that it's loud in the restaurant. They also have outdoor patio seating. Parking is challenging in this neighborhood, so be sure to give yourself some time to find a spot.

I love this restaurant: food, people, ambiance 10/10. It's an upscale authentic mexican restaurant, not too far from where I live so it's always my go to when I crave Mexican food. Their drinks were a bit stronger than usual, but the food (except for the ceviche) was cooked to perfection. I think my partner and I prefer the ceviche to have smaller cuts of fish than huge chunks, though I can understand that's always based on preference/taste. The fried octopus/pork belly was the best I've had here: wow, I'm so impressed with the execution! Def coming back for this dish again

Had such a great experience here! I'm shocked that this is my first time since I frequent Ballard restaurants all the time. The service was wonderful, warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly from the moment we walked in. The menu is small but in the best way, no fuss and focused on really solid, well-executed dishes. The ambiance is laid back and perfect for a girl dinner! I can't remember exactly which tacos I ordered (sign of ordering too quickly because everything sounded good), but they were so flavorful and fresh. The chips, guac, and salsa were excellent... super crisp chips and the kind of guac you wish you could recreate at home. Ingredients seemed fresh, too! It's the kind of neighborhood spot that feels easy, relaxed, and reliably good. I'll definitely be back. Oh and the spicy skinny margs were BOMB!

Although it's naturally very fatty, the flavor and juiciness was retained after cooking - so they didn't screw it up. The salsa verde was a very nice accompaniment, as it tasted light, fresh, and a good complement to the fat of the meat. The mole enchiladas were less good. The mole sauce used leaned way too heavily on a sweet flavor - having little to no nuttiness whatsoever. It didn't taste anywhere close to some of the best moles I've had. The enchilada underneath was fine - nothing special. Both dishes came with beans and rice. Both were slightly above average, but nothing to write home about. I would say the portions were well sized in terms of overall amount, but the enchiladas were quite small compared to the beans and rice. With these two dishes we ended up around 28 per person. Overall, it's average Mexican food. 6.5/10

I'm usually a fan of a smaller, curated menu because it suggests care in sourcing and execution. But for us, the execution just didn't land. Everything is served family-style, but the portion sizes didn't justify the price point. We started with the sourdough and butter spread, and it was a letdown right away. The bread was hard as a rock, and the butter--while sounding interesting--came slightly burnt and didn't feel worth $11 for two pieces. Next was the albacore tuna tostada. As someone who travels to Mexico City often, I was genuinely excited for this. But it leaned heavily on avocado, with barely any tuna to balance it out. For $25 and only two tostadas, it felt pretty stingy. The rapini quesadilla sounded promising but ended up tasting mostly like broccolini and mushrooms--nothing that really stood out or justified the dish. We finished with the 21-day dry-aged steak, which, at $59, felt like it should've been a highlight. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. It came out essentially raw, which I didn't mind in theory, but it was incredibly chewy and lacked flavor. It was difficult to cut and even harder to enjoy. The tortillas were nice, and the demi-glaze had potential, but overall it just didn't come together. Even the refried beans on the side were underwhelming--something you could easily find done better at a casual spot. On the bright side, the mezcal margarita with a tajín rim was excellent--well-balanced and probably the highlight of the night. And the service was warm and attentive, which I appreciated. But overall, for the prices and the hype, this place just didn't do it for me. Maybe we ordered wrong, but I've had much better elsewhere. I hate to say it, but I probably won't be back.

So many of our regular spots had lines out the door, which was no surprise, but we ended up getting a table here. Figured Mexican food is hard to mess up. They have an option where you can try ALL of their dips for $20, which I couldn't resist. It was so fun, they had like 9 different ones! I got the shrimp tacos and they were so flavorful that I almost gasped. The creamy sauce, crunchy veggie toppers, smooth avocado, and perfectly cooked shrimp...just wow. I will be dreaming about this dish for years to come. I am a pescatarian and gluten free and there were TONS of options for me. They mostly use corn for everything, not flour. The staff was gracious and kind. They seemed a little understaffed but truly made the most of it and made every table feel attended to and special, which was so lovely. Before it seemed like Maiz Molino was focusing on elevated, unique Mexican dishes (shown in the pics in my prior review such as short rib, and other sort of "fusion" dishes, and more seafood focused, etc.) Now, the menu seems way more generic and casual like enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, tamales, etc. just offered w/ different proteins. They are still focusing on maiz but just a bit more generic in the preparation and offerings. Also, they had 2 separate menus which was a bit confusing. One is a generic all day menu and then another menu had brunch and dinner on it. It was around 5:30 p.m. but they were out of a particular steak dish that we were interested in. Service was friendly. We had enchiladas, a dip sampler (for appetizer) and Tlacoyos. Everything was fine but nothing really stood out, sadly. It wasn't very busy while we were there, so hoping that they are doing ok as a business. I would love to come back if they brought back the old menu w/ things that you cannot really find elsewhere, including the great cocktail menu and desserts that were offered previously.

Have to stop here and express my appreciation for Andrew and how he took the time to explain the philosophy and genuine team vibe of the restaurant. Oftentimes when a restaurant adds a flat 20% gratuity, you get the feeling this is not passed on to the servers. Not so here. He explained that it's shared among the servers, bar, and other staff, with only a bit retained by management, but even that finds its way into their wages. The Cantina celebrates Taco Tuesday, so I took advantage of this. You get the opportunity to try 5 different street tacos for the low price of $15. For another $4 you order it fully loaded which is a steal (guac, pickled onions, lettuce, giardano, crema, and another lovely sauce). Each of the tacos were really delicious and packed full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the cauliflower and the beef. Was surprised how much I liked the popcorn chicken - still juicy and not greasy in the least. Andrew treated us to a round of the hatch green chili. I was delighted because it was a dish I wanted to try. He described it perfectly: a little kick, but you can't stop eating it. He was right. A bowl of this in the winter with their cornbread (which I'm confident will be delicious) will preempt a winter cold. The sauces on the table are not to be ignored either. The green chili sauce was fruity with a little heat, the scorpion chili brings the heat, but their homemade chili oil is phenomenal. I could put this on everything. In short, the Cantina delivers.
