Love, love love! This was some of the best authentic Mexican food, I've had anywhere. The flavors were so good. We got the quesadilla fritas, flautas and side of rice and beans. The quesadilla was so delicious. I got with potatoes and chorizo. It was topped with cabbage and crema. It was so good, on the spicy side which I love, but be warned it has a nice heat level. The flautas again so fresh and delicious, got a side of salsa roja, again it has a kick but it was so fresh and good. I don't eat beans but the rice was some of best I've ever had. Great portion sizes as well
After living in Washington State for four years and seriously missing good Mexican food, I can finally say... I FOUND IT! The food here genuinely tastes like home cooking fresh, flavorful, comforting, and made with love. I ordered the carne asada plate, and I enjoyed every single bite. Seriously, there was no polite little "I'm full" moment happening here. It was absolutely delicious! Hubby ordered the chicken with soup, and he enjoyed every bite of his meal too. When both of us are sitting there happily eating and barely talking because we're too busy enjoying the food, you know the restaurant did something right! And the best part? We still had enough leftovers to become tomorrow's lunch, and somehow the bill was very reasonable. Delicious dinner and tomorrow's lunch without spending a fortune? That's my kind of math! The service was wonderful too. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and especially thoughtful about my gluten allergy, which I really appreciated. It's always nice to be able to relax and enjoy your meal without feeling like you're conducting a full investigation into every ingredient. The atmosphere is casual but still really nice and inviting perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. They also have Happy Hour every day from 3-5 PM, which I definitely want to come back and check out. I don't drink alcohol, so my version of Happy Hour will basically be: more amazing Mexican food at 3 PM. After four years of searching, I think I finally found my Mexican food spot in Washington!
Great Mexican restaurant located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle. Freshly made chips that come with a salsa roja that has a kick to it. Not bland like in other places. The ceviche was fresh and loved that they added shredded carrots for extra crunchiness. Tacos de carne were delicious, with the meat properly seasoned. Will definitely come back for more the next time we are in Seattle. Service was prompt and courteous.
I shared the mole enchiladas and lengua en salsa verde from this Mexican place. Of these, the lengua en salsa verde was my favorite. The beef tongue was cooked pretty well. Although it's naturally very fatty, the flavor and juiciness was retained after cooking - so they didn't screw it up. The salsa verde was a very nice accompaniment, as it tasted light, fresh, and a good complement to the fat of the meat. The mole enchiladas were less good. The mole sauce used leaned way too heavily on a sweet flavor - having little to no nuttiness whatsoever. It didn't taste anywhere close to some of the best moles I've had. The enchilada underneath was fine - nothing special. Both dishes came with beans and rice. Both were slightly above average, but nothing to write home about. I would say the portions were well sized in terms of overall amount, but the enchiladas were quite small compared to the beans and rice. With these two dishes we ended up around 28 per person. Overall, it's average Mexican food. 6.5/10

We recently made it back to Fogon Cocina Mexicana for dinner after a long, we had earlier gotten takeout only during the pandemic. We loved the vibes, the food and the service so much we made it back here for dinner again within a week. Our first time here we got Tacos Cameron, and Pollo Asado. We were served a complimentary Bean Tostada that was a great start to our meal. I loved the Shrimp tacos, one of the best I have had in the Seattle area. The Pollo Asado was good, so were the rice and beans that came with it. We asked them if they had a house hot sauce and we were given a spicy salsa that we loved. We finished our meal with a Choco Flan. It was delicious and huge, we couldn't finish it. Our second time we decided to try different items, and got Quesadilla Fritas, and Pescado Frito. It was my first time having Quesadilla Fritas, I got it with chorizo y papas and I enjoyed it. We absolutely loved Pescado Frito, the whole tilapia was fried perfectly, it's one of the best items we have had anywhere in a long time. We were told it is one of their best seller menu items and we got the last fish for the night. All their ingredients are so fresh, it elevates the meal. We finished our meal with Flan. It was delicious, perfect end to our meal.

Portions are solid for the price. Staffs are attentive and friendly, and the space works well whether you're coming with one person or a big group. One thing to keep in mind: this place gets a line during peak hours, so if you show up hungry and unprepared, you might regret it. I'll sometimes just do a takeout order when I'm craving something specific and don't want to wait. Either way, worth it.

Seated immediately on a Friday at 5 pm just in time for their happy hour from 4-6 pm daily. Menus and water were laid out and then a free refried bean tostada quickly was dropped off at the table, which was crunchy and delicious. Service was attentive and quick that whole night, they cleaned up tables at lightening speed next to us. All the portion sizes of the food were large. Added chicken to our nachos, removed tomatoes, and server offered to put guac on the side because that had tomatoes too. Food was good, my only comment was that the torta was dry, so I added the salsa from the chips&salsa dish to it which made it better. Got an ultimate margarita, it was alcohol forward which I prefer. I didn't really have high expectations going in since happy hours are usually hectic at any restaurant, but left pleasantly surprised, buzzed, and full. Ambience was dim, good music, fun night out, I would definitely go back. It is quite busy and loud here, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a quiet intimate date.

Really delicious. We ordered the guacamole, a spicy dip. and chips to start. The chips are phenomenal. Clearly house made.warm, fresh, lightly salted ä, and crispy. Solid guac, and a smoky spicy dip. The margaritas were also really good. Bartenders special and cucumber. Well made and balanced. Not overly boozy. The burrito was enormous and well filled, with carne asada, rice and beans. Huge dollop of guac on top. The street tacos were flavorful too: cuicken, Al pastor, and carnitas. The usual rice and beans on the side. I decided to try the special: the enfrijoladas. Thin slice of grilled beef which had a great marinated flavor. The tortillas had been soaked in beans and then filled with a bit of cheese and topped with creamy beans, cabbage etc. good combination of flavors. Also appreciate that a steak knife (of good quality) was provided. Overall a fun place to visit and cheerful atmosphere.
THE BEST Mexican restaurant I've experienced in Seattle! From the decor, to the service, the drinks and the FOOD! Everything was excellent! I asked a good friend who has great taste, what's her fav Mexican restaurants and Fogón was first on her list. And guess what? Now it's mine too! I treated my Grandma to lunch and it was truly a treat to us both. Our server was friendly, and patient. We were given a vegetarian tostada as a complementary appetizer. A perfect combo of textures, spices, and flavors. My gma ordered the lunch chicken enchiladas and a classic margarita. I ordered shrimp fajitas and a holiday drink the "Nice or Naughty Ponche". Everything was delicious and delectable. I wouldn't doubt ordering anything new from the menu I just know it will be good! Can't wait to go again!
Food was absolutely delicious!! I ordered ceviche for an appetizer and carne asada taco plate that came with rice and beans. All the food tasted very authentic and they make their tortillas in house. They also serve you with a small tostada with beans while you wait for your food. Service was fantastic, our server was very friendly. I don't recommend for big groups as the restaurant was smaller. They do not take reservations, we went on a Friday night and didn't wait too long to be seated at a table.
Came back with some friends for happy hour, service could've definitely been better. Waiter seemed annoyed we were getting happy hour food, didn't really check on us, kind of had a bit of an attitude. Latinos giving other latinos attitude is kind of obvious. The food was good, but attitude will easily make me not return anywhere. If they don't want people getting happy hour they should probably have it only at the bar area or I'm not sure what else they could do. Everyone at the table could feel the vibes, wasn't just me. Definitely uninterested in returning, shame because the food is pretty good and sizes are good. Just don't like feeling disrespected and like my money is useless.

As a former Southern Californian, Mexican food was something I've given up on trying in Seattle. Which is probably why it had taken me so long to visit Fogon, and wow don't I wish I had tried them sooner! The food, service, and ambience were all amazing, and I can't wait to go back. My husband and I went around 2pm on a Wednesday, and the restaurant was fairly empty, as we had hoped. We got the nachos with carne asada, ceviche, and then the churros. We got the full portion of both the nachos and ceviche, even though it was lunch time and they had half portions available. Everything we had was phenomenal- it rang simple done really well. The beans, cheese, carne asada, onions, tomatos, guac, and crema on the nachos were seasoned well and generously portioned. The chips were the thick crispy kind which held up well under all the toppings. I liked how the topping were distributed- I was able to get a little bit of everything with every bite. The ceviche was refreshing and full of large shrimp chunks. The churros came with a scoop of ice cream, and it was a really nice way to end the meal. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the strawberry filling in the churro. I'm looking forward to going back and trying other items on the menu! read more

Friend and I came here after the Seahawks championship parade because he said I had to try it! I'm glad he brought me here because this place was really good! We came around lunch time so we were lucky enough to order from the lunch menu. Once you walk in there is a person making fresh tortillas. So you know this place is going to be good! Their lunch menu is a solid lunch menu! I got the torta and a Pacifico and that torta was massive! They even give you a refried bean tostada as an appetizer for free! Glad I came here while I was in the area and I'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu. read more
After flying in from the Bay and checking out some of the landmarks I found this place on Yelp. The pictures of the food looked promising and so I made my way up. I took a seat at the bar and ordered the mole enchiladas and a margarita. While I waited I noticed how trendy and lively the space was. This is definitely a place you come in a group to enjoy drinks. It's definitely got the vibe for that. My food came out piping hot and while I had high expectations for this dish it reminded me of a dish I had at Chevys years ago. The margarita was fine nothing out of the ordinary. When the bill came I was surprised the dish and margarita with tip was a little over $41. For that price I feel I could have overindulged somewhere else. The food was simple. But this place is really for happy hour and drinks with large groups. read more

I absolutely love this place. It has some of the best Mexican food and they bring the food so quickly. I love that they give a tostada while you wait for your food and their burritos are my favorite. I've tried their drinks as well. I really like their cucumber drink. It's a small place, but the vibe is very cute. The servers are nice and quick this place is always busy but the line moves pretty fast so I put my name down even if there's a wait because often I'm not waiting for that long. read more

We are from So Cal and are usually skeptical about finding good mexican food anywhere. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. We had steak fajitas and the milanesa torta. Delicious. Omar was our server and was nice and helpful. Highly recommend. read more
One of my top Mexican restaurants on Pine st or in Seattle in general. They have a daily happy hour and the crowds flock here. There is always a wait because the food and the vibe is that good. Once seated they start you off with a complimentary chicken tostado. It's delicious. It's a preview of what the food is going to taste like. I ordered the cucumber mint margarita and it was refreshing and not too strong. For dinner We ordered the chicken enchiladas and carne asada. With the carne asada they ask you for if you prefer corn or flour tortillas. Flour tortillas are fine but in the middle of the restaurant there is a women making homemade corn tortillas that are amazing!! Fogón is my favorite Mexican restaurant ever! It's so delicious and has such a fun vibe. It's always packed so we try to get there on the early side since they don't take reservations. My two favorites are the carne asada and tortilla soup! You can also get a great deal on the tortilla soup if you're there during happy hour. The tortillas are so soft and addicting. If you're a fan of horchata I highly recommend ordering it here! I bring my Mexican family here when they're in town and they are always super happy eating here. What a fun place to have a midday lunch! Even on an overcast Seattle day, it was bright, welcoming, and pleasantly bustling inside Fogon Cocina Mexicana. The tall windows facing the corner let in plenty of natural light, and the complimentary appetizer tostada, served before we'd even opened the menu, was a delicious way to whet our appetites. The 11-3 lunch menu didn't skimp on portion sizes. My enfrijoladas had juicy, hard-seared carne asada, and the refried-bean-soaked tortillas and cabbage contributed delicious texture to each bite. My mother opted for 2 carne asada tacos, which looked beautiful and got devoured. From the food perspective, the guacamole and margarita were less successful. The guac was so, so creamy, but I felt it was missing alliums and tomatoes (for textural contrast). My house marg mainly tasted of alcohol. At the end of the day though, with this experience and the large entree and drink menu on offer, I'd love to come back here. read more
Can you believe? Arrived at 7 pm on a Wednesday evening and were seated immediately! We just opened the menu and were thinking about drinks when out popped the server with a complimentary appetizer! Drinks and food are awesome and sooo fast! There is no dessert menu but they do offer flan or strawberry or caramel churro with vanilla ice cream. We certainly appreciate the hospitality. Fogón's happy hour changed my life... What a deal! As long as you buy a drink (can be non-alcoholic, which is good as I was not ready for some day-drinking) you can choose a dish from the happy hour menu for $8! The price for the portions alone gives you a reason to go here with some great friends. The vibe says: "hey! let's have a good time with people you love." Even if not the best or not in the top 10 Mexican food I've ever had, what a nice memory to make. read more
There are a lot of places to eat in Seattle, especially in Capitol Hill, but make sure to visit Fogón! I love the way the place looks with a tasteful atmosphere that has the right amount Latin vibes. Some of the best authentic Mexican food I've had in a long time!! The service was extremely courteous and kind, there was a wait on a Friday night but went much faster than we expected (only about 20 minutes), and the food came out hot and quickly. They also give you a free appetizer tostada with cabbage, refried beans, & salsa when you first arrive which was a pleasant surprise. The strawberry margarita was refreshing, strong, and pretty big. The guac was fresh & the salsa was perfectly spicy. I got the beef milanesa and I was shocked at how tender it was for how thin the meat was. The beans and rice were perfectly seasoned too. The entire menu was appropriately priced for the quality and size of the portions. The inside is a bit loud but still able to talk. There is inside and outdoor seating.
