Went to Maiz Molino for lunch with a party of six and had a great experience! It's a walk up to the counter and order situation, but also has nice seating. I ordered the tacos, which comes with three. I chose carnitas, bistec, and chicken. All were delicious and tasted fresh and flavorful. It came with rice, beans, and some sauce. Great lunch spot. Though the food came out pretty slow, I think it was just understaffed.

Service is TOP NOTCH. Gentleman working here when I had reservations this past 09/20 @5:15OM literally was smiling the entire time. They were busy. Ambiance is GORGEOUS. They took their time planning the decor. Food was ok. Prices are a tad high for the food amount.

Came here with a friend this past Saturday for brunch. First of all the space is very cool the bar is covered in ceramic tiles and each is a different design. It's bright and cheerful. We both had dinner planes later and were looking around at what people were ordering and realized the portions were very generous and we didn't think we could finish one by ourselves we barely finished what we ordered and we had split an entree. We split the Asada Chilaquiles Rojo. Which was delicious we like how the chips were a little firmer. I had a Jamaica to drink and my friend had an iced horchata latte we enjoyed those as well. Service was friendly and helpful. Definitely would love to try more of the menu

What a great place to get Mexican food that specializes in mole. Their duck confit one was amazing! So many great flavors. The halibut dish was out of this world, I really love the plantains! The flan cheesecake was so unique I could eat two of them! Overall, super friendly service and great atmosphere, I highly recommend and it would come back.

I got food poisoning within eight hours of eating dinner here in the middle of the night. It was just virulent. I was the only person at my table who ate the Molay so it could've been that of course there's always a possibility. I got food poisoning elsewhere, but That was my last meal before I got sick. I did not like the house made tortillas even though they were made fresh and in house. They tasted very bland and on appetizing to me. Really overall, this place was a big disappointment. The atmosphere and service were fine.

I appreciate that they offer reservations because I have come here before and it was busy. Today I had one but it wasn't needed on this Saturday at lunch time. We were the only ones there and were tended to very quickly and nicely. The food came out warm and yummy. Their brunch and lunch menu had so many delicious options it was hard to choose but we were satisfied with our choices. The horchata latte was good as well and a nice addition to our brunch tasting. I highly recommend coming here, the ambiance was quiet but I imagine it can get quite loud at some point when it's busier

Friendly service! Was greeted with smiles and suggestions when I didn't know what to order. Restaurant is beautifully decorated. Can't wait to be back!

Went for Valentine's Day and got free mimosas! The food was amazing, very flavorful and good portions (enough to share if you aren't super hungry). The decor was super colorful an authentic giving a fun cultural vibe. We sat at the bar and servers were very funny and engaging which made the time enjoyable.

Maiz Molino is flavor to the max! We went for brunch and got the chilaquiles, carne Asada eggs, pozole, quesadillas, and horchata latte. Every dish was delicious. My 17 year old son said this was the best Mexican food he's ever had(he ordered the quesadillas). Their salsas were really good too. Friendly service. We are definitely returning.

Maiz has some great dishes. I've come a couple times and my favorite is always the Elote Risotto (w/ shrimp added). It's super creamy and flavorful. I've also enjoyed the Short Rib, I like how it falls off the bone. They have a cool menu and great decor w/ ceramic tiles and a lot of character.

Wonderful dinner at Maiz on a Thursday evening. We were the first ones here at 5, more folks came in around the time we left 6:10~ I ordered the trio tacos - carnitas, pastor & chicken and requested spicy salsa (it was good!) My husband ordered the Carne Asada plate and it was to his liking with spicy pepper, pickled bits, pico de gallo, sausage and salsa. It also came with some fresh tortillas. You can really taste the freshness and authenticity of their food at Maiz. The service was exceptional. Very attentive and patient. Food came out at a good time, 15 mins. We admired the decor and tile work done in the space. Really enjoyed date night dinner here and would highly recommend!

Super nice staff! Super good food! Can't ask for more. Got two items and they were both excellent! Super tasty! It was nice eating here because I'm from California, and I've been missing the Mexican food over there. It's downtown, so you could park at the Amazon building on the weekends for free.

i really enjoyed my meal here, and i appreciate that they are open fairly late! came around 8:30 on saturday, and there were a few tables open. they have bar seating too if you're interested in that. their menu has something for everyone, some small plates/shareables, entrees, desserts, and drinks. we got the sampler ($20) that comes with small helpings of each salsa/dip. really enjoyed the green salsa, it was bright and tangy, not too spicy. the pico de gallo salsa was as expected, nothing too unique, the refried beans were smooth and flavorful. the pickles were crisp and tart. beware of that pepper though, it's very very spicy, and seasoned very well. i think the stand out of this meal for me was the beef tongue (lengua) tacos! wow!!! it was so tender and tasted so good, and pairs very well with the green salsa it comes with. i would order 2 orders for myself next time. we also got the chicken mole. it definitely has that chocolate-y sweet taste to it. comes with rice and beans but because we came late they were out of rice, so we got the option to sub with veggies or more beans. overall a fantastic meal, with fantastic flavors, a bit pricey but i dont mind because it's so good.

Although it's naturally very fatty, the flavor and juiciness was retained after cooking - so they didn't screw it up. The salsa verde was a very nice accompaniment, as it tasted light, fresh, and a good complement to the fat of the meat. The mole enchiladas were less good. The mole sauce used leaned way too heavily on a sweet flavor - having little to no nuttiness whatsoever. It didn't taste anywhere close to some of the best moles I've had. The enchilada underneath was fine - nothing special. Both dishes came with beans and rice. Both were slightly above average, but nothing to write home about. I would say the portions were well sized in terms of overall amount, but the enchiladas were quite small compared to the beans and rice. With these two dishes we ended up around 28 per person. Overall, it's average Mexican food. 6.5/10

I'm usually a fan of a smaller, curated menu because it suggests care in sourcing and execution. But for us, the execution just didn't land. Everything is served family-style, but the portion sizes didn't justify the price point. We started with the sourdough and butter spread, and it was a letdown right away. The bread was hard as a rock, and the butter--while sounding interesting--came slightly burnt and didn't feel worth $11 for two pieces. Next was the albacore tuna tostada. As someone who travels to Mexico City often, I was genuinely excited for this. But it leaned heavily on avocado, with barely any tuna to balance it out. For $25 and only two tostadas, it felt pretty stingy. The rapini quesadilla sounded promising but ended up tasting mostly like broccolini and mushrooms--nothing that really stood out or justified the dish. We finished with the 21-day dry-aged steak, which, at $59, felt like it should've been a highlight. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. It came out essentially raw, which I didn't mind in theory, but it was incredibly chewy and lacked flavor. It was difficult to cut and even harder to enjoy. The tortillas were nice, and the demi-glaze had potential, but overall it just didn't come together. Even the refried beans on the side were underwhelming--something you could easily find done better at a casual spot. On the bright side, the mezcal margarita with a tajín rim was excellent--well-balanced and probably the highlight of the night. And the service was warm and attentive, which I appreciated. But overall, for the prices and the hype, this place just didn't do it for me. Maybe we ordered wrong, but I've had much better elsewhere. I hate to say it, but I probably won't be back.

Andrew (our server) introduced us to his sidekick, who was in training. Love that personal, hands on approach for a mew team member, and Sidekick did a great job in monitoring our table and replenishing water. Have to stop here and express my appreciation for Andrew and how he took the time to explain the philosophy and genuine team vibe of the restaurant. Oftentimes when a restaurant adds a flat 20% gratuity, you get the feeling this is not passed on to the servers. Not so here. He explained that it's shared among the servers, bar, and other staff, with only a bit retained by management, but even that finds its way into their wages. Terrific work environment and happy to see it. It definitely shows in the level of service. But we're here to eat. Didn't take a picture, but one of my dining companions ordered the burrito with red chili sauce and it was very good. Just the right amount of heat in the sauce. The Cantina celebrates Taco Tuesday, so I took advantage of this. You get the opportunity to try 5 different street tacos for the low price of $15. For another $4 you order it fully loaded which is a steal (guac, pickled onions, lettuce, giardano, crema, and another lovely sauce). Each of the tacos were really delicious and packed full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the cauliflower and the beef. Was surprised how much I liked the popcorn chicken - still juicy and not greasy in the least. Andrew treated us to a round of the hatch green chili. I was delighted because it was a dish I wanted to try. He described it perfectly: a little kick, but you can't stop eating it. He was right. A bowl of this in the winter with their cornbread (which I'm confident will be delicious) will preempt a winter cold. The sauces on the table are not to be ignored either. The green chili sauce was fruity with a little heat, the scorpion chili brings the heat, but their homemade chili oil is phenomenal. I could put this on everything. In short, the Cantina delivers. Excellent food, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun staff, and a cool vibe. I'll bet the cocktails will also be good. Definitely adding to the regular rotation!
