The chipotle chicken tacos were fine. The spice level was low but pleasant. The tortilla was fresh and soft. Service was fast and polite.

Everything was…read moredelicious but if I had to rank, I'd say Singapore Chili Crab and pepper sauce are the top 2 of the ones we tried. She was extremely helpful throughout the process and was not bothered in the least as I had to make some adjustments a few days prior. It was a very smooth process and she answered all my questions. Definitely try her food out. You won't regret it!

We had Marimakan Crabhouse cater my birthday dinner and the experience was absolutely phenomenal…read more The food arrived beautifully prepared and packed with bold, authentic Southeast Asian flavors - truly restaurant-quality catering. We ordered an abundant spread, and every dish impressed. The clear crowd favorite was the Singapore black pepper prawns - fragrant, perfectly spiced, and completely addictive. That black pepper sauce was hands down the star of the meal: rich, peppery, and deeply flavorful. It was my favorite and could easily be eaten on everything. The Mala curry crab and XO crab were both outstanding; layered with complex, indulgent flavors. The Thai green chili clams and saus mentega clams were vibrant and comforting, while the crab fried rice had generous morsels of crab folded throughout the dish. We also really enjoyed the Indonesian chicken wings, which were crispy and flavorful, and the stir-fried vegetables, which added a fresh, well-balanced contrast to the seafood-heavy menu. Everything traveled well, was thoughtfully prepared, and made for an unforgettable catered meal. If you're considering catering from Marimakan Crabhouse, I can't recommend it highly enough. Get the black pepper sauce! Amazing from start to finish, and Chef V or Rachel is lovely to work with.

5 stars Absolutely…read moreloved our meal at Musang! We ordered the bibingka, pancit molo, Musang fried chicken, and garlic rice, and everything was delicious, but the fried chicken is a must-try (it's perfectly cooked & I loved the gravy), and the garlic rice went perfectly with the chicken. The space is also super charming: both the exterior and interior are really cute, and we loved the open kitchen where you can see the chefs in action. It adds such a nice touch to the whole experience. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. This is such a great spot for date nights or celebrations, i'd definitely come back again!

We made it to Musang for a Saturday lunch after trudging around Judkins Park for the Crosslake…read moreConnection opening. I was a bit worried about going without a reservation, but when we arrived a bit past noon, the place was only around half full. Seems like it's way more popular for dinner! Fried chickenJOY + Gravy + Waffle ($31) - The chicken is heavily breaded and crisped up nicely in fryer, giving a very robust crunch. It's completely dark meat chicken and cut into pieces for easy eating. I especially love how they have pieces of fatty breaded skin floating around. I actually like the skin more than the meat given that the interior is on the dry end of things. It's surprising given the more forgiving nature of thigh and Musang's reputation. The waffle is quite unique. It has kind of a gritty interior but the texture is otherwise interesting due to the mochi-like rice flour chew. While it has the Ideal crisp exterior, the interior is dense and dry. It really needs moisture to liven things up. The moisture comes in two forms. Firstly, fragrant sweet and citrusy syrup. It's not so much of a liquid as a thickened honey. Fantastic flavor, but the small drizzle isn't enough for the mass of waffle! Secondly there's a side bowl of typical brown gravy. It's unfortunately served at room temperature, which gives it time to become lumpy and congealed. Meh. (4/5) Short Rib Beef Tapa Silog ($24.50) - Served on a trimmed circular banana leaf, this dish comes with a variety of different things. The star of the show is supposed to be the short rib. They include two large slices, which are very fatty and tender and give off an exceptional smokiness. The taste is very similar to Korean galbi with a sweet soy umami. It's far too salty though. I had to have my glass of water refilled four times after eating about 3/4 of a piece. All 3 of my dining companions tried the short rib and agreed it was way too salty. My wife and I ended up not finishing this dish because we were so bloated with how much water we had to drink. This level of saltiness is okay if there's enough other stuff, preferably more bland, on the plate to counteract the saltiness. In this case, there's only a small scoop of peppery and garlicky rice. It has very distinct grains and fantastic mouthfeel. Unfortunately that small scoop isn't nearly enough for the dish as a whole. There should be way more rice, like at least 3x or 4x for the amount of meat. There are some atchara pickles, which I originally thought were thinly sliced daikon pickled mixed with carrot. It's well pickled and tastes totally different from pickled daikon given the mellow fruity note. There's also some vinegar dip. Combined with the pickles, it's enough acid to cut through the fattiness of the short rib, but both are relatively salty, which boosts the sodium levels through the roof. (4/5) I was expecting to be blown away by the food at Musang given all the accolades and high ratings. The flavors are there, but I came out a little underwhelmed due to some of the major technical flaws in the food. Unfortunately the quality for price ratio just isn't there. Perhaps dinner service is higher quality? Bathrooms - Single unisex room Note: Musang charges a 22% service charge. This is noted on the menu

The European flair and intimate setting (only about 10-12 tables) make it feel like a well-kept secret. The quality is amazing! Everything is locally sourced and prepared with care. I had the cod, and it was truly a "melt in your mouth" experience. While it's on the pricier side, the value is there when you consider the craftsmanship and local support. The service was knowledgeable and warm; you can tell they have a lot of regulars, which speaks volumes. An amazing experience for sure!

It is somewhat difficult to get a reservation, because the space here is very small and packed with tables. The one downside is that it is a little tight and can be difficult to hear. But I'll take that for the opportunity to eat here. And as long as you go in with the mindset that you might drop some serious coin on the meal, you're gonna have a phenomenal time. Because we were so close to our dining neighbors, I was actually able to ask them what they were eating since it looked so good. And that's how we ended up with some mind blowing fritters. A perfect appetizer to start the night. They have a great selection of wines that are actually reasonably priced to buy by the bottle. I'm pretty sure I saw someone taking one home that they drank a few bottles out of also, which is a first. I was impressed by the creativity of the dishes as well. I'm not one to be impressed by cabbage, or ever order it, but the charred cabbage looked enticing. The cheese on the bottom, seasoning, and dates transformed this ordinary vegetable into a star. And of course you gotta see what they're doing with the seasonal veggies. I can't seem to ever cook squash the right way, but they crafted it into the ideal consistency where it was almost meaty. That New York Strip was out of this world though... the garlic sauce that accompanied it was just enough of a flavor enhancer that it didn't take away from a steak that was cooked to the ideal temp. I'll be back for more!!

The attention to detail, quality of the food, presentation, staff, and overall experience was great. You certainly get what you pay for here! They welcome you to the patio in the back and provide a welcome libation, then seat you inside at your reserved table. You should sit at the counter. I am not sure this would have been as fun had we not. SO much tweezing going on you would think we were in a beauty salon. They tailor the menu in some regard to your needs, so make sure you fill out the questionnaire! If you are the type of person that needs to make every decision at every step of the way, not really the place for you. In fact, I made zero decisions upon arrival, which was great. It was well curated and each course was a nice progression. The chef and all the staff were pleasant, attentive and made sure things were done well and on-time. When you walk to the front, they start off with a drink choice. I had the cider, I can't remember the other one, but the cider was great! They had us sit in the back outdoor seating while the tables were getting ready. The restaurant inside is very cozy, not a lot of tables which seems to help the servers and chefs be more attentive. Every food item was brought out, explained, and was very visually appealing! This is definitely a place you go if you want to have an experience, and we were happily surprised at how well that experience went. Some of the top items were pasta in wagyu beef broth, scallops kind of like ceviche, savory macrons, squab (some kind of small bird), and the desserts were great as well! They also give you a little coffee or tea to go as you walk home which is nice, and the cups are pretty cute. One thing to note, is we had the non-alchoholic drink pairing, and thought it would be more like cocktails without alcohol. I would suggest you look more at what it actually entails via the drink menu before you have it. It's a lot of fermented items, so if you don't like kambucha then I would suggest getting something else. Overall though, I definitely recommend this place, I will be going back as their menu changes with the seasons.
