If you're looking to impress someone with the highest caliber of Seattle gastronomy, take them here. I was blown away by the love and technique that went into every bite here. It is somewhat difficult to get a reservation, because the space here is very small and packed with tables. The one downside is that it is a little tight and can be difficult to hear. But I'll take that for the opportunity to eat here. And as long as you go in with the mindset that you might drop some serious coin on the meal, you're gonna have a phenomenal time. Because we were so close to our dining neighbors, I was actually able to ask them what they were eating since it looked so good. And that's how we ended up with some mind blowing fritters. A perfect appetizer to start the night. They have a great selection of wines that are actually reasonably priced to buy by the bottle. I'm pretty sure I saw someone taking one home that they drank a few bottles out of also, which is a first. I was impressed by the creativity of the dishes as well. I'm not one to be impressed by cabbage, or ever order it, but the charred cabbage looked enticing. The cheese on the bottom, seasoning, and dates transformed this ordinary vegetable into a star. And of course you gotta see what they're doing with the seasonal veggies. I can't seem to ever cook squash the right way, but they crafted it into the ideal consistency where it was almost meaty. That New York Strip was out of this world though... the garlic sauce that accompanied it was just enough of a flavor enhancer that it didn't take away from a steak that was cooked to the ideal temp. A small locally owned farm to table restaurant tucked between a salon and former coffee house amongst homes and businesses in the Roosevelt neighborhood. The seasonal menu changes daily so every time is a new experience. The restaurant is small and cozy, reservations are recommended. However, the owners and staff go above and beyond to accommodate those with disabilities, allergies, or special needs. This is fine dining in a relaxed, homey setting, but doing let that fool you. The food is excellent. All dishes are meant to be shared and is always fresh and full of names and produce I've never heard of it, so every dining experience is an educational experience too. Came for a dinner with girlfriends. Thankfully I made a reservation ahead of time. It's a very small place and pretty busy. It's noisy, tables are small and cramped. The host and server were friendly and welcoming. Their menu is different and unique. It rotates often because they are using fresh, in season produce. So pro tips: take a pic of the menu the day you come because it changes. I can tell that there is a lot of thought and skill put into the dishes. Vegetarian/vegan friendly. Sadly, the ingredients are so uncommon that I can't remember what was what. I remember being underwhelmed by the crepes and the fitters. The crepes were just boring. The fritters were with shrimp I think, not what I expected, but the accompanying sauce and pickled onions were delicious. The roasted vegetables were delicious, especially the cauliflower, it had an incredible smoky flavor. My favorite was puntarelle chicory, celery and fennel salad. Nothing I have ever had before and I wouldn't have tried it if the server didn't make the recommendation. The flavors were so good, and just well balanced. Lastly, the black cod...cooked so well, melts in your mouth. The green puree was very mild and light. I would have liked more flavor but that may be just a personal preference. If I could give six stars I would!!! I love this place so much. This restaurant was literally made for me. It is dreamy. It's a small restaurant inside a wine shop. It is homey and simple, yet elevated. Perfect for a little celebration or date night. Excellent service with great people working here and they give stellar recommendations. The amazing food though is why this place gets my stars. The menu had lots of delicious and elevated vegetarian dishes that were all so flavorful and downright delicious. For those who want to indulge but are also trying to be more plant-based and health/environmentally conscious, look no further (they also have seafood and meat options for you carnivores out there!). Such a cute and whimsical restaurant! Service was lovely and they had some great recommendations. I was mainly interested due to the extensive NA options. I got a rosemary and elderflower mocktail. It was very refreshing a perfect finisher for a night. I shared a dessert with a friend and the clafoutis was perfect. Perfectly sweet cherries in a flan like cake with a side of sweetened whipped cream was a perfect combo. We got to sit at the outdoor area and the night was perfect with the slight breeze. I was in Seattle for a conference, and I was so fortunate to be included in a group going out to dinner with a local who recommended this restaurant. This was simply a fantastic dining experience. Three Sacks Full was a quiet and cozy environment and I felt like I was in somebody's home. It was quiet and easy to have conversation, and we had absolutely amazing service. Items on the menu are sourced from local places and the menu items reportedly change frequently. There were so many amazing options and combinations, and it was definitely a very easy place to eat for a vegetarian. There were five of us, and we just decided to share a variety of items on the menu. Some of the highlights for us included the incredible homemade country sourdough bread, that came with the most delicious butter and olive oil. We couldn't get enough of this bread and ended up ordering three servings! We especially loved the puntarelle salad with roasted beets. The horseradish in this salad was simply the best. The leeks vinaigrette salad with pear, shaved fennel and pickled serranos was such a delicious and unique combination. Another highlight was the cornmeal spoon bread, which we all felt was the perfect comfort food. We decided to share the grilled pork chop that were accompanied by a perfectly spiced red lentil side dish. We paired all of these foods with a local Oregon wine. Matthew, who I think was the owner, opened the wine for us and told us the backstory of where it was from. We ended with all three desserts from the menu and we especially loved the quince torte with whipped cream. My husband and I dined at Three Sacks Full for the first time for the 4-course NYE Dinner, and felt it was the perfect occasion to do so! We both had the non-vegetarian option and were very happy with the courses, and felt it was very reasonably priced for the high quality of food. My personal favorite course was the 2nd--fried local oysters with carrot-lentil salad, mashed beets and garlicky yogurt. It was texturally perfect all around, and I absolutely love when fried food tastes light! I also loved the amuse, the smoked steelhead trout mousse with cara cara oranges and capers on blini. Service was attentive and timely, although there was a bit of an awkward interaction during dessert when my drink was taken away from the table without my input when I still had about 25% left. Second time visiting here, it was much busier than the first time I went - and for good reason. For me, the highlight of Three Sacks Full is the rotating and highly creative vegetable-leaning menu. The first time I went, I tried nettles for the first time. This time around, they had maple blossom fritters on the menu, also a first. And I had already ordered too much, but was intrigued to try the fiddlehead ferns in a salad. All of the food has been creative, exceptionally tasty, and presented well. The ambiance keeps up, with it being a small space yet never feeling too crowded. If you are into wine, they have a well curated selection available at reasonable prices, and it seems they also do tastings on a monthly (perhaps more often?) basis. Wow wow wow, haven't been treated to a meal like this in a while! This unassuming little spot in Ravenna is easy to overlook, but very quaint and cute inside. My book club decided to meet here for dinner and discussion and we were all so impressed! Our server was hilarious and so great, joining in on some of our book discussion and always quick to check on us. The food was incredible. We ordered practically the entire menu because everything looked delicious. Do not sleep on the bread, or the fritters, or the desserts. I had dinner at Three Sacks Full last night with a friend. It was a wonderful experience and I recommend it highly. We shared several of the vegetarian plates. All were inventive and delicious. The silken egg custard with black trumpet mushrooms was a dish I had never eaten. It was creamy and laced with leeks, celeriac and local seaweed. What a marvelous discovery. Yum! The wine list here is extensive and you can buy and take wine home as well as drinking it in the restaurant. Lots of great wine here to enjoy. I ended up choosing the roast chicken and maybe it's just me that will appreciate this so thoroughly but they aren't using onion and garlic as a crutch to develop rich complex flavor. They're using fermentation and amazing unique ingredients like celeriac. So if you're onion and garlic challenged like I am, you can thoroughly enjoy a meal out and drive home without popping half a bottle of tums. Amience also very suitable for conversation. Fantastic new restaurant in the former Souper Bol, Three Sacks Full started off as a pop up and now has a permanent location. Their focus is on carefully sourced vegetables and grains, although they do have a couple of fish and pork dishes. I had one of my favorite meals in 2023 and it was largely vegetarian! The starter was probably the most animal-laden dish which was a soft boiled with a small sliver of anchovy. It was a perfect starter. Next up was a celery and sorrel soup. I haven't had sorrel soup in years, and my last attempt in making one ended in utter failure. But the version here was exemplary and the celery was a perfect match. We then tried a yacon and mashed beet salad which was spectacular. Never had yacon before and it reminded me of jicama, and the beets which were roasted before were so good that even people who don't like beets will like it. Finally, we had spoon bread with leeks and whatcom blue cheese, which reminded me of grits. It was a comforting dish and perfect for the fall weather. There is an interesting selection of wines, and they also operate as a wine shop. But I really enjoyed their non-wine options such as a nice dry sherry cocktail, a shot of amaro from Faccia Brutus, and a great fortified wine - pineau des Charentes. we sat at the bar and service was solid and informative. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle, if not the favorite. We had been doing their twice-a-month popups since before the pandemic, and it's exciting to see the proprietors, Michael (chef) and Matthew (front of house), get their own restaurant space finally. The food is consistently amazing. Always local, always seasonal, and always fresh. Simple ingredients prepared elegantly. The menu rotates weekly, so even if you're a regular, there's something new all the time. While not identified on the menu, there are always vegan options, and many dishes can also be made vegan. My wife and I are vegan, and TSF is one of the few non-vegan restaurants where we have a surfeit of options to choose from every time we dine. Also, for those who do not drink, TSF has some great non-alcoholic options. There's a handful of mocktails, and always a NA beer and a NA wine on the menu. Vibe-wise, the space is cozy. They've done their best to add sound-reducing features (sound-absorbing panels, fabric seat backs, etc.), but at peak times it can be a little loud. Service is also wonderful. Matthew greets and seats you, and is never not charming. Service is handled on a team basis, with Matthew, the lone waiter (whose name I cannot recall), and the sous chef (whose name I also cannot recall) tag teaming -- at times, Michael will come out of the kitchen and also deliver a dish. I loved the diversity of grains represented in the bread, cookies, and other dishes. I knew it would be a good meal right from the opening snack of three-grain sourdough with local butter. That bread was chewy and crusty in all the right ways. The kiwi-kohlrabi-beet salad was colorful, juicy, and well balanced. Everything felt creative and cared for, but not precious. My dinner companion doesn't drink alcohol, so I had a glass of the Poggio white wine cocktail, which felt festive without making me sad about drinking alone. This review is long overdue as we came several weeks ago for their opening weekend. The space is small and inviting, and service, while on the slower side, was attentive, welcoming, and accommodating. The menu is plant-forward and changes regularly, so what we had will likely differ from the current menu. On the one hand, it's a shame because everything we had was very delicious and I'd love the opportunity to try it all again. But on the other hand, I can't wait to see what's in store on my next visit. Most plates are designed for sharing which is what the six of us did. That allowed us to sample a good portion of the menu. Standouts were the black-eyed pea fritters with tahini and the lobster mushroom cabbage rolls. Those were my personal favorites, but again, everything was really great. They had a nice wine list and a few wine-based house cocktails, as well as some interesting NA options (I'm looking at you, yuzu soda). Looking forward to returning! read more
