Combo grilled pork, braised belly and sunny side egg (contains gluten) with soy egg

Pretty good spot for a quick lunch or takeout! Solid prices, good portions and their sauces are very tasty. Everything tastes fresh and it's obvious from the first bite that everything is made in house. It's self serve and self bussing so tip is low which is a welcoming change. The interior is spacious but not as inviting or welcoming for dining in. Frequent takeouts at a convenient location with later hours than the weird hours most businesses operate by in the PNW. I'm from the east coast and am used to proper standard hours with lots of 24 hour shops. This place being open until 11pm is incredibly appreciated and should be normalized. Overall I'm glad I came and will be back.

Everything was good, and the food came out quick! Ordering at the kiosk was easy, and the food runners bring your food to the table. The creamy house sauce is so tasty, and I would definitely add it to any order. I do wish there was soy sauce available at the table and not just as an addition to the order. The complimentary jasmine tea was really nice as well, adding to the nice vibe of the restaurant.

High quality food, packed with authentic flavor. Lemon grass protein with half steam rice and half garden salad. Top with egg. I also ordered the steak banh mi, huge bread baked to edible crust not too crunchy like some restaurants.

I have been getting catering from CrackleMi for months, and I cannot rave enough about the food! The ingredients are fresh, flavorful and creates a delicious experience for your tastebuds. I was able to visit their location for the first time and it tasted even better in person. The atmosphere is chill and laid-back, and I loved that the windows were open on a sunny breezy day. I will continue to order from them, and will definitely visit in person more!

We love the chill ambience in the restaurant. There were multiples tablets to order your food from. Self serve filtered water, utensils, and sauces. It's optional to clear your own dishes. Lots of window and natural lighting, along with plants that draped from the ceiling. Even though they were fake they still looked nice. I ordered the crackle mi bahn mi. It came with grilled pork, braised pork belly, a fried egg and the usual pickled vegetables. The braised pork belly was tender and fatty. Next time I'm going to order extra protein and Mayo. The bread was soft and crunchy at the same time, and the bread wasn't too thick, which was perfect. I can't wait to come back and try the other items on the menu.

Amazing pork noodle bowl and regular Vietnamese iced coffee!

I've been trying to get into this Vietnamese spot for months, and it was so worth the wait. Ever since coming back from Vietnam, I've been craving fresh, flavorful Vietnamese food -- and these guys absolutely delivered. My pork noodle bowl was packed with crisp veggies and herbs, and all the sauces were spot on -- bright, savory, and layered with that signature Vietnamese balance of sweet, sour, and spicy. The Vietnamese iced coffee hit just right too -- strong, sweet, and perfectly creamy. I also really appreciated how clean the bathroom was -- always a good sign! -- and the beautiful seating area with lush plants hanging from the ceiling made the whole meal feel even more special. I'm already planning my next visit because there's so much more on the menu I want to try. If you're missing Vietnam or just want a delicious, satisfying meal in a lovely setting, this place won't disappoint!

Got a takeout chicken bowl from here that was fantastic. Perfectly seasoned, a large portion, with fresh veggies and rice. I'm pretty picky about overcooked chicken but this was perfect. Since it was delivered can't say much about the service or ambiance but super happy with this work lunch!

My family and I went to the Ballard Farmers Market on Sunday and parked near this place so we decided to give it a try. It wasn't bad. I'd just say it was average. We ordered the Eggcited Banh Mi and the Grilled Ribeye Vermicelli Bowl. The vermicelli bowl had a choice of fish sauce or sesame soy. I chose the latter. The veggies were fresh, the beef was well seasoned. It's just a place that does basic Vietnamese food. Order at a kiosk when you first come in and grab your own water or hot tea. They bring your food to you but you should bus your own table when finished. Would I return? No, I probably wouldn't. Not bad but not terribly memorable enough to give it a second visit.

The Smokey Bowl: I got the grilled chicken option, and it was yummy! The meat was flavorful and tastes great with the rice. I really enjoyed the texture of the rice. The salad portion tasted good and fresh. The flavors of all the components tasted great together. However, it was a little too oily for my preference. You can order on a kiosk or via a QR code at the table. After your meal, you can bus your dishes by the exit. Everything is mostly self-serve--getting your own water cups, utensils, napkins, etc.

Very tasty and great portions! We almost always have leftovers. Some protein options can be a little salty sometimes but great overall!

Very spacious restaurant. Very much self serve style with kiosk, QR Code all setup to take your order. Food get serve promptly by the kitchen staff and let me tell you, the food is amazing!!!! The cracklemi banh has very well marinated meat and big chunk of braised of pork belly. Yum Spring rolls is so fresh and not greasy. Every potion is super generous and the price is just right. Definitely worth coming back.

We decided to go visit a new Vietnamese place yesterday in Ballard, honestly as a Vietnamese girl I took everything with a grain of salt when looking at the reviews. The parking is street parking and was a little difficult. When we came in I thought it would be a traditional style restaurant but it's very modern with the kiosk style ordering. I didn't mind it at all because I got to see each item and take my time with ordering. The restaurant was very clean though and had plenty of seating. I can't really say much about the service though as I didn't really interact with anyone. As far as food goes, it was good you are able to customize on the kiosk so everything is to your taste. I wasn't blown alway from the food but I was definitely surprised at the bigger portions at the reasonable price. The spring rolls were nothing special, just the rice paper was really thick and I think it wasn't wet enough because it was a tad hard. Brandon (the bf) got the banh mi and they PACKED IT FULL. We asked for extra jalapeño and they delivered. I got the Broken rice dish and to me that's what really stood out. The meat was so soft and just melts in your mouth. But everything else was just ok. Overall I would recommend this place, it is quick easy, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for sit down place with amazing service you probably won't find that here. I still enjoyed it a lot because it was yummy but just nothing too special.

The Mean: Corned beef was not the most tender (I'm still partial to Dingfelder's), but it's well seasoned. Mint with mustard is a combination I never would have guessed would work, but the sharpness complemented each other nicely. Red cabbage had a nice tang and the soft bun for the contrast of texture. The Steak Tartare Club: Steak tartare surprisingly mild, almost feels more like a BLT with a background of slight beefy squishy texture (but in a good way!). The yuzu kosho was not too spicy and the rye bread toasted to a crisp added a good bit of crunch and almost nutty flavor. Will be back for the Hama Hama Oyster Po'Boy.

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

We ordered promptly, but were told we would only have about 10 minutes to use the seating area before it closed. When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.

While other Serious Pie locations tend to be semi-upscale-yet-casual pizza joints, this spot felt more like an afterthought with its small, dark space and decidedly hole-in-the-wall vibe. The good news is, the pizza was still delish, as it always is at Serious Pie. We enjoyed the sweet sausage pizza that has become a fave over the years, along with a couple of beers which were served in plastic pint "glasses". Okay, I'm sure this makes me sound like a beer snob, but plastic?! Good beer just doesn't taste good in plastic. (Unless you're at a frat party?) Our server (who, by the way, was excellent) later told us he'd accidentally used the wrong glasses for the beer; so apparently it's something they're fixing. Yay! It was also darn cold inside. We had to keep our coats on the entire time. A door between the restaurant area and the semi-open entrance to what appears to be their central storage area would most likely help. Again, this all probably seems a bit petty. I'll own that. But as someone who loves Tom Douglas and his restaurants, and has had great experiences at other Serious Pie locations, this one was a disappointment. Especially since they're charging the same (some might say elevated) prices as they do at the other locations. Maybe if they called it something else, to differentiate it? Serious Pie Lite? Semi-Serious Pie? I dunno, but I expected just a little bit better from this iconic local brand.
