    Pad Thai with tofu
    Fionna L.

If you're looking for a family run, homey, inexpensive and absolutely delicious Thai place, this is it! Each huge entree was only $11.25. We loved the Pad Thai with tofu and the Pad See Ew with chicken which was perfectly smoky and sweet). Their dessert special, lychee ice cream, also hit the spot - it was thick sticky deliciousness with flavors of sweetened condensed milk and little bits of lychee. The waitress was sweet and not afraid to laugh at herself. Be mindful that in the bathrooms in the back, there was a sign posted that they plan to increase their prices for the first time in more than a decade in order to stay afloat. With the quality of their food, it would be well deserved. Silver Tray will be my go-to Thai restaurant in Wallingford!

First off, I will say that we got our food to go. It is always hard for me to do an accurate rating solely based on to go orders, but here we are. I had pad see ew with extra broccoli and it was good, but not the best I've ever had. My friend had the pad Thai and she said it was also pretty good. We were greeted by very friendly staff which is always nice. The restaurant itself is pretty small. I'm sure the food is much better when it is served hot and eaten immediately!

Seattle has a lot of great Thai restaurants, but Silver Tray appears to be something of a hidden gem. My partner and I love to try new Thai restaurants throughout the city, but Silver Tray continues to be our favorite. Not that we want more competition, but we think this place really deserves to be more popular! We'd give Silver Tray a 4.5 out of 5. We usually order a couple of dishes to share, like the Bangkok chicken, pad see ew with chicken, and papaya salad. The Bangkok chicken is one of their signature dishes - battered chicken covered in a flavorful special sauce that I haven't had anywhere else. The chicken is perhaps a tad too salty on its own, but pairs perfectly with white rice. The pad see ew and papaya salad are pretty standard dishes for Thai restaurants, but the pad see ew at Silver Tray has a slightly smoky flavor that elevates their version above others that I've tried. We also tried the mango & sweet sticky rice dessert for the first time during our last visit, and it was fantastic! The mango was perfectly fresh, the sticky rice had a wonderfully gooey sticky texture, and the condensed milk added just the right amount of sweetness. So be sure to leave room for dessert!

Came here for some dinner after helping my move more of his things. Silver Tray is hard to miss, right on the intersection on 45th. Street parking only. Because it's street parking only, I noticed a lot of people doing take out so they can pull up really quickly and be on their way. To start we got the crab delight appetizer. I found them to be a bit too crispy. Not burnt, but a hard to bit into and not too much filling. It got better from here though - started with a Cha Manao - Thai Lime iced tea. very sweet and limey, a nice alternative to a standard Thai tea or lychee Thai tea. For food I got the SPN Kao Soi with chicken - crispy and cooked egg noodle with curry, mustard preserve and more. Very good, very filling, very tasty curry. Decent sized portioned bowl too but I had no problem finishing. The service was very friendly, we were welcomed in and checked on enough. They also have outdoor seating. Definitely a solid Thai spot as far as entrees go.

We love the curry we had, the lichee juice was also great, people were super friendly and the environment is quiet and clean. Definitely would come back!

Thai cuisines vary depending on the region, but in general Thai food is known for balancing sweet, salty, spicy, and sour flavors. It also features a generous helping of fresh herbs and coconut milk. This results in bold, complex, and often herbaceous dishes. Located on Second Avenue in Belltown, Bangrak Market is named after the most famous market in Bangkok, where we had our first dinner in Seattle. The reservation was easily made via their website. Upon arrival, it was pretty busy and felt like a market when one stepped inside thanks to the colorful streamers and decor. The decorations were so unique, especially the baskets used throughout the space, and the whole vibe instantly transports one to Thailand without actually being there. It has such an energetic and party-like vibe. The music felt like one's in a bar, and the atmosphere was super fun. My partner, his family, our friends, and I managed to get a big table for a party of 14. With so many menu options, one can order with confidence. For starters, some ordered the Fresh Garden Rolls (Tofu), Chicken Satay, and Kao Mun Gai. As the main meal, we ordered Tom Yum Nam Sai (Chicken), Pad Thai, Pad See Eww, Kao Pad, Kao Pad Supparos, and Gang Kari. The food was amazing, full of flavor, and authentic. Everything was beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients. Portions were decent and the price reasonable. The service was excellent and super friendly. From the wait outside to our meal, this establishment was buzzing, packed with patrons having a great time, food flying out of the kitchen, and that fun, chaotic energy that tells one you're in the right place.

It was a busy night and we brought our 1 year old son with us. We placed our orders while waiting in line outside (this is their standard process it seems), so if you are looking for a slow relaxed meal this might not be it - but the wait is worth it. When we were seated they had a full set of children's dinnerware (tray, toddler utensils, bowl) which was very impressive. The servers were all so friendly with our son which was delightful. The changing station in the bathroom was also very nice, with a soft cover, and they even provide wipes and other consumables you might need. The bathroom was very clean as well. Oh and the food is absolutely delicious! The dipping sauces for the chicken were all so good, and the texture of the chicken was perfect, moist and tender steamed chicken. The grilled chicken was also very juicy. We also loved the thai lime tea, a variant of thai milk tea which balances the sweetness with tangy/bitter lime. Very refreshing! We will definitely be ordering takeout/visiting the restaurant again!

We scanned the electronic menu at the front, ordered, then got water at the self-serve station. We beat the lunch crowd so we had plenty of tables to choose from. The bright and cheery decor had nice ambiance and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My hubs ordered the Khao Soi Chiang Mai, one of his favorite dishes to order at a Thai restaurant. It was huge and came in a big, wide bowl. He enjoyed the flavor of the yellow curry and building heat of this dish. Make sure to get a steak knife at the front counter so you can cut the meat from the chicken drumstick (if you're not biting into it). Also, if you are a spice lightweight like me, this is not your dish. But if you enjoy spice and curries, you will enjoy this dish. I got the E-Jae House Noodle with chicken and no egg. Wow, their handmade rice noodles were amazing! So soft, tender, and kinda ropey. I loved the texture and taste of this dish. The sauce was light and complimented the noodles, chicken, green onions, and cilantro. It's so great to eat a restaurant dish that isn't too salty or saucy! It comes with a side of chili sauce which I didn't use, but if you like spice, I am sure it was good. We ended our meal by sharing a small order of the Mango Sticky Rice. It was delightful. It was enough noodles and sauce for two meals for me. It came with one chicken leg (enough for one meal). Make sure to grab a knife from the front counter to get the chicken off the bone. Their flavor profiles are different from other Thai places I've tried. I enjoyed it. We also got the small mango and sticky rice. The mango was perfectly ripe. The small was enough for two people after all those noodles. It has tall windows so the place is well lit and I enjoyed the colorful decor.
