So many restaurants are closed on Monday in Seattle! Fortunately, my friend and I were able to catch up over lunch at Kin Len Thai Night Bites a couple Mondays ago. PHAD SEE EIW - 16.50 + chicken This is my go-to dish at Thai restaurants since it's always a reliable option. Kin Len was no different. The noodles were soft and chewy, with a nice balance of savory and sweet flavors. They also don't skimp on the chicken or Chinese broccoli, which made this a pretty satisfying portion. BATTERED CHICKEN RED CURRY - 17.75 Wow! I'm not usually a fan of fried foods, but the batter on the chicken was surprisingly light and flaky. The red curry was incredibly savory and aromatic, with a ton of flavor. Even after sitting for about half an hour, the chicken held up pretty well despite becoming a bit soggy. This was incredibly tasty, and I'd highly recommend, especially since it's one of the dishes they're known for. Between the two dishes, this was more than enough food for two people, and I know my friend can eat! We probably would've been OK ordering just the battered chicken red curry, but I'm definitely not complaining about leftovers. Been a regular and returning customer for a while. Always order spicy bomb wings and unfortunately it is getting from good to bad to worse. The size of the wings shrunk significantly. And today, the order is the most disappointing one ever. There is almost no sauce on the wings and the existing sauce is diluted as water (not thick and flavorful as it was). Very disappointed. The wings are bland. If there is no improvement made on this, I won't order the wings ever again. Seems like corners are being cut here and there for this dish until there is no quality at all. The drunken noodles however still maintain the quality and taste as it was, so kudos to that. Service wise is just average. The food here is amazing and truly a 5 star taste the Tum Yum is some of the best I've ever had and could eat it endlessly and be sooo happy. If you're a foodie get ready to enjoy every bite!! ( the rice was hard and undercooked) The restaurant is huge and can take big groups without issue. So why 3 stars and not 5? The staff for the most part is amazing and super friendly I ate here two nights in a row and had a wonderful experience both times until I asked to pay tonight and they tried refusing the Amex card which I had paid with the night before without issue. The person became aggressive and Aggravated that I simply requested to pay with the same form of payment I had the day before. The man was supposedly a manager but with his unfriendly nature they should send him back to training and promote one of the actually really nice and wonderful staff. After he relented he threatened me saying I'll never let you pay with that card again I can refuse any form of payment I want. Really disappointing after an otherwise really positive experience. We came for happy hour after a full day of eating. The entryway is deceiving because there is a ton of seating in the back. The service was fast, nice, and friendly. We grabbed a couple of happy hour drinks, the jerky, and the red curry with crispy chicken. The jerky was hot and bursting with flavor it paired nicely with sticky rice. The curry had bold and warm spices, my partner loved the crispness of the chicken. Personally I think it would be delicious with grilled chicken too, if you're looking for a less heavy option. I've been to Kin Len several times and always enjoyed the food and experience, but my latest experience will probably be my last. We ordered the grilled calamari, and the tentacles were served essentially raw. Unfortunately my dining partner discovered this by eating one, which has since made her feel unwell. The staff did take the dish off the bill which I appreciate, but seemed to have very little concern about the matter, not offering any apology or interest in inspecting the dish themselves. I understand mistakes happen in a high-volume kitchen like this, but I wish concerns of food safety would be given more weight by the serving staff. read more

Came in Wed evening, a tiny bit of a wait but tables were available for everyone. I got bar seating as a single diner. Thought of take out but just decided to dine in. This place was recommended by my air bnb host. Wanted to try the red curry and pad thai but just decided to go with the vegan claypot baked mushroom medley with glass noodles. I got this primarily bc it looked like the healthiest. But i was a bit disappointed that it was very salty, which made it not healthy, even with the veggies. The hot sauce is very strong so would be wary if ur sensitive as i had stomach pain afterwards. Overall, the dish was a sodium bomb to me and i took home leftovers and tried it again in the morning and it was still very salty so i threw it out. Food is amazing!! I love the tofu bomb so much that it inspired me to look for similar recipes to make at home! It's got the kinda spice where it burns a little but it tastes so good that you just keep eating it! Line is long even on weekday nights, so I'd recommend joining the waitlist on yelp while you're otw to avoid waiting in line too long. It's also in a pretty fun area in Fremont so you can kill time at nearby thrift shops and such!! Food is great and pretty affordable too compared to some restaurants in Seattle. Wow, the food is *so* good here! Met a friend on a Monday night, and it was hopping! There is a waitlist and they are good at turning over. I had to wait because they only seat full parties but as soon as my friend got there, we got seated pretty quickly. We had the beef and stixky rice, kee Mao with tofu, and red curry chicken with bitter melon. The beef was super unique and the tofu in the kee mao was very flavorful and delicious! Kin Len is a staple restaurant for us! They're serving up great Thai food in the heart of Fremont, but beware of parking and the wait time. I was able to get parking by the troll so we had a quick walk over. However, we went on a Thursday night around 7pm and there was already a waitlist of 20+ parties. We probably waited around an hour and 15 minutes. Since you are in Fremont, you can walk around to kill time and check out the cool shops nearby. The inside of Kin Len is decorated very well with lots of Thai decor and bright neon lights. Our server was super friendly and food came out fairly quickly. We've ordered the papaya salad, battered chicken in red curry, pad see ew, octopus carpaccio, pork belly with Chinese broccoli, and mango sticky rice with ice cream. - Papaya salad is classic - crunchy, sour, sweet, spicy, and so savory with the fish sauce. Decently spicy and a great fresh bite between dishes. - The battered chicken is probably the most popular dish on the table. Crispy, juicy chicken on top of creamy red curry. Just the perfect combination of textures and flavors. - Pad see ew is also classic. The medium was pretty spicy for us! I do wish it had some more of the charred flavorful bits on the noodles. Some of the noodles were in larger pieces and could use more flavor but still a very solid dish. - We were warned the octopus carpaccio was one of their spiciest dishes so we got the chili sauce on the side. Octopus was very tender and was a standout with the sweet, sour, spicy sauce. I actually felt like the pad see ew was spicier. - The pork belly with Chinese broccoli had good flavor, the pork belly had a satisfying crunch, and the broccoli had the nice bitterness that comes with gai lan that rounds out the dish. - The mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream was delish! It's one of my favorite desserts so you can never really go wrong. Two mango halves sliced with chewy sticky rice and sweet and salty coconut cream. We added coconut ice cream and it was yummy! Decided to stop by this place in search of quality Thai food and a nice ambiance and it did not disappoint! My friend and I walked in at 9:20 (~40 mins before closing) and got a seat at the bar. They have happy hour from 9pm-close so we ordered the curry from the happy hour menu ($10), kra pao with an egg (~$20), and drinks (lychee martini $9, Thai-Tini $9). Such a great deal!! My favorite thing had to be the yellow curry, it was so creamy and had a nice kick. The kra pao was also very good, we picked spice 2 which was pretty hot but manageable. From the outside, we noticed the restaurant takes up a good amount of space in the building. Once we arrived, there were several people waiting to be seated. We added our name and number to the list. It was about a 10-to-12-minute wait for our party of 2. Throughout the restaurant, the lighting is dim and suited for night life. Once we were seated, we were given the menus. We ordered the Grilled Calamari, Uncle Odds Flank Red Curry Wild Betel Leave with Sticky Rice, Battered Chicken Red Curry, and Durian Tiramisu. The food came out at a respectable amount of time. The Grilled Calamari was an enticing appetizer off the menu based off how big it was. However, we were a bit disappointed once it arrived at the table. It was much smaller. It was still good regardless. Once our main entrees arrived, we were also a bit surprised by the lack of vegetables there were in the curry. Even though the menu states exactly what was in each of the curry dishes, we were still just shocked and questioning why that was. We both enjoyed the curries anyways. I wouldn't order the Battered Chicken Red Curry again only because the batter of the chicken was getting soaked the longer it sat in the curry and became a bit mushy. The texture was throwing me off. Everything about the chicken and the curry is just perfect; the chicken is perfectly fried with a light batter and the curry is super flavorful without being too heavy. And the portions are HUGE. As of this review, I've went twice when I was starving - I barely finished once and had leftovers the other time. The taste and value are insane, my only main concern with the meal is that it's not balanced at all since there's zero vegetables at all but it gets a pass from me. I have been wanting to try this place for a while, have seen such great reviews. We finally made it for dinner this week. This is such a cool place, we had to wait for about 30 mins to get table, we walked around the block while we waited. This place stands up to all the hype around it. It's a lively place on a Friday night, with good music and happy hour after 9pm. We got the Thai fried squid with Roe, Kra pao with Chicken, and Garlic Prawns with sticky rice. We loved the Thai fried squid with Roe, and Garlic Prawns with sticky rice. The Kra Pao was good, we went with 3 stars for spice level and it was spicy. The portions were also pretty large, and we ended up not being able to finish despite loving everything. we got the battered chicken red curry, and the way that the batter soaked up the curry made the chicken a flavor bomb. The sticky rice was pretty plain. * Fried Squid 4/5 - This dish reminded me of popcorn chicken, but with squid. Very crispy. A bit fishy. * Banana Ice Cream 4.5/5 - Came with a sparkler which was cool. Coconut Ice cream was yummy, but it had a slightly sour aftertaste which threw me off.
