Miso soup

One of my go to places on Cap Hill! I am impressed with the high quality fish they always seem to have. They have a belly flight which i haven't seen at a lot of places. Three kinds of fatty fish belly? Yes please! In this case, tuna belly, hamachi belly and salmon belly. There is also a tuna flight with Maguro, chutoro and otoro i also consistently order. The chicken karaage is a bit unique with some green herbs mixed into the crispy batter. Its usually not an issue getting a table quickly without a wait. Convenient neighborhood joint!

I was craving for some good otoro since I experienced it in Japan and saw some recommendations for this place. The price for otoro sashimi is more or less similar to other places but their alaska roll was super expensive at $9. 5 piece shrimp tempura was $12. Otoro looked fantastic but it lacked the melt in your mouth feel I got from the otoro I had in Japan. The Alaska roll was decent - fish was fresh but overall the roll was on the smaller side. The prawn tempura was soggy when I got home. They did not cut holes in the paper box so it steamed in there. For these prices I expected more thought into that.

On a lively section of Broadway, Star Sushi offers booths inside and tables for two on their outdoor patio. Tuesday night happy hour extends to 9pm, so it's a good night to check out this place. That said, our service was spotty. I'm not sure if it's because they were understaffed or had new servers. We were greeted warmly and servers were courteous, but we waited a long time after being seated and once we were finished with our meal. I had to flag down servers for both our beverages and to order dessert, and then again to get our check. That said, the main event - the sushi - was delicious. We sampled their signature rolls, classic rolls, and some happy hour specials. We all agreed it was excellent. The fish was fresh, the rice warm, soft, and chewy, and overall, better than average for the price. A strong 3.5 stars, so rounding up to 4. It's a solid 4 once their service improves. Bring a date - or your out-of-town parents - with confidence.

The food was amazing, I've been craving more since I've been there. Our server was so cool. He was very helpful with the menu and describing the food and had such an upbeat personality. It's a nice spot, nice vibe. Has a bar as well. Will definitely be back.

We had a great dinner here. The service was fantastic! Many people checked on us and helped us during our meal, each incredibly friendly. They have really unique and delicious options on their menu. The setting was nice filled with a lot of fake pink flowers. Definitely will be coming back here!

We went to Star Sushi & Bar for my birthday last weekend and we were very impressed! We made a 2 person reservation for 6:30 and they were able to squeeze us in ~20 min early even though it was a pretty full house. We got the Asian pear cider and raspberry marg, which came in cutely decorated glasses (very tasty, pictured). Food: we ordered the chicken katsu, mariners roll, fried California roll, avocado rolls, tamago, inari, agedashi tofu, and two miso soups. Portions were reasonable and prices were fair! Everything was really good, especially the agedashi tofu--it had a unique chewy wrapping and I highly recommend the bonito flakes on top (no picture :( we ate it too fast). The mariners roll was also a hit and my boyfriend, a serial katsu eater, said his chicken was "crispy and perfect." Service: We never brought up that we were celebrating my birthday, and the manager still came out and brought us a free plate of avocado rolls because they made extra. Our waitress Sarah was also very attentive and polite! We thought everyone we encountered did a fantastic job. Overall, this is the type of place you can arrive in jeans or a nice dress. We liked it a lot for our first time!

Been here many many times this was all time best most flavorful Ramen broth in Seattle! Service is always great. Food is fresh and tasty! Outside patio area, weather permitting, dogs allowed. Great menu options

Sashimi Belly Flight

What a wonderful way to kick off 2026. We found this "Star" of the sushi scene while looking for a sushi spot near the Paramount Theater, it was only a very short Uber ride away. It looked so cute as we drove up and even more festive inside. Fun cocktail menu for young, old and sober. (Non alcoholic) Our waiter was awesome! Patient, informative and present. We were near the door but never cold and noticed they had a nice bar area, too. Even better, we were able to keep an eye on the Seahawk game, as well. I saved the best for last, the food was AMAZING! So fresh, so melt in your mouth delicious, everything we look for in our sushi. We began with the Hamachi Carpaccio. Do not skip this! Delicious, not too spicy and that sauce is to die for. Next we had the Sashimi Belly Flight with Bluefin Tuna, Salmon and Hamachi. This alone was enough for a Happy New Year and proved to us we had found a new all time favorite sushi spot in Seattle. We had the waiter recommended Charizard Roll and he did not lead us astray. Very dramatic, it came flaming and this heated the roll. Once flames died out our waiter came over and opened it up, but more importantly than all of that it was yummy and the three of us fought over the last couple of pieces. My only notes are that our two bake rolls (Lion King and Scallop) were good, but they had a flavor that was odd, not bad just odd. Instead of using mayonnaise as we are accustomed to, they use a white cheese sauce. We so look forward to returning and thank Star Sushi and Bar for being five stars in our book!

Our new favorite! Amazing sashimi and specialty sushis, great ambience and well made cocktails. They also had a few options for ramen. Prices were fair. It was super busy but they made sure the service was good.

Went here instead of going to out usual spot. Great vegetarian options...didn't snag a photo but the veggie potstickers - gurl, so amazing I ordered it twice. Dominic helped us, fabulous human. Very helpful!!

Decided to try this restaurant for happy hour on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Wakame Salad, Takoyaki, Alaska Roll, and the Spicy Tuna Roll. Beverage wise, I ordered the Lychee Martini and Star Cocktail. My favorites were the Wakame Salad, which was extremely fresh and brimming with flavor, and the classic Alaska roll. The Lychee Martini was cute, playful, and tasty. I sat at a counter seat and received top-notch service with all of my dishes coming out quite quickly. I also had a wonderful conversation with the Itamae, who I can tell really enjoys his work which added a bit of additional delight to the experience. I will definitely visit again to try their full menu. I'm especially looking forward to the oysters which they were out of due to the Memorial holiday logistical issues with ordering. As fresh as everything else was, I know the oysters will be amazing!

I ordered a miso ramen and my parents ordered the tonkatsu ramen. As someone from the Bay Area, I was so surprised by the richness of the ramen and it definitely beats some of my usual spots. Each bowl was ~$15 and a smaller bowl, so would definitely advise getting an extra batch of noodles. The chashu is melt in your mouth tender. The broth wasn't very salty or over complicated itself with a burst of spices, but highlighted the simplicity of a good ramen, tasting the long simmer of the pork. My dad was honestly pretty pissed circling around the area for an hour for parking, but said it was all worth it, even waiting in a long line.

franchise chain with good ramen, but abysmal service…read more like many ramen shops, you pencil in what you want on a paper menu. i marked gyoza, extra noodles and a soda, all of which the waiter ignored when he came by. took the paper, made one highlight streak and apparently took my order in under 2 seconds w/o asking for confirmation. i had to sit and wait ~10 minutes before someone came by and asked if i needed something, by then the broth had already cooled before the kaedama. i gave up on asking for gyoza altogether. as someone who gets weekly ramen for years this was by far the worst service i've encountered

The ramen was incredibly flavorful--rich, comforting, and exactly what you want. Everything tasted fresh and well thought out. I also ordered a draft root beer which was honestly so good and a fun change from the usual. We came with kids and they made the experience extra special. The kids got to pick out a Pokémon card at the bar (huge win), and our waitress went above and beyond--she was so warm and attentive. She even brought the kids Pocky for dessert, which was such a sweet touch. We also ordered the fried chicken--$8 for a huge portion, which is an amazing deal. The dipping sauce was delicious. Personally, I'd prefer the pieces to be a bit smaller, but that's just a minor preference, As well as a real utensils would be nice over plastic. Overall, such a great experience with amazing food, kind service, and thoughtful details. We will definitely be back!
