On a whim, me and CC decided to check out Chaiyo Thai Cuisine in Seattle's Pinehurst neighborhood (10/31/24). We both lucked out finding street parking right out front. The restaurant's interior was very clean and vast with plentiful seating. Nice and unobtrusive wait staff. We stuck with water of which the wait staff kept us hydrated. The menu had a wide variety of items to select from. The items ordered had me gravitating away from my standard mainstream usuals. Starter appetizer was #1 Pang-Sib which were fried pork and peanut rolls. Flavorful but more like packets not rolls. Nice change from egg rolls, cream cheese crab packets, or satay sticks. Soup was #13 Tom Yum with two stars of heat. This was indeed hot and sour soup with chicken, mushrooms, lemongrass, galangal, kaffir leaves, and lime. Definitely sinus clearing versus the coconut milk based tom kha. Main noodle entree was #66 Pud See Ew with beef. Stir fried wide rice noodles with broccoli, and carrots. Something new versus pud thai. The servings were generous. Taste and texture had restraint. Presentation was streamlined. Seems to do the job for the neighborhood since 2006 (18 years!) and does brisk takeout.

Amazing food, great service, cozy atmosphere, and the dishes came super fast. Best Thai food experience I've had in Seattle.

Loved eating here! We thought the food and service were both fantastic. We got our dishes at spice level 2, and they were still super flavorful. Will definitely be back next time we are craving Thai.

I recently went to dine in here with my wife and friend. We were going to a movie in Northgate so decided to eat here before the movie. I am glad we did! The service was great here. I loved the vibe. It was very clean and had a modern vibe with plenty of space. The pricing was also SUPER reasonable for Seattle restaurant prices. The parking is limited, but if you can't find street parking, there is a lot across the street that is safe to park in during the evening hours if you choose to do so. Also, it is good to note that they stop taking dine-in orders at 8 p.m. even though they close at 9 p.m. Reservations are also highly recommended. The food was phenomenal. Myself and my wife had the basil fried rice with fried tofu. The fried rice had the perfect blend of Thai flavors and tasted fresh with lots of great flavors and spices. I also had the fried spring rolls which had an amazing taste and were perfectly crisp. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the abundance of vegetarian offerings. They all looked so delicious, and you could substitute tofu for just about any meat on the menu. Overall, I highly recommend Chaiyo Thai. They have delicious Thai food that you will love!

The noodles were absolutely delicious, packed with flavor. They do spicy on a scale through five, we opted for four out of five for the noodles, I thought we could've gone even one spice level higher. For the curry, we did three out of five, and definitely could've done a spice level higher. The spice scale is definitely catered toward people who like less spicy food, so rest assured three or four is still fairly mild in spice. The quantity of the curry was actually quite small, however, the presentation was beautiful. It was also delicious in taste. Ambience: The restaurant is very ethnic and beautifully decorated. It is a great date spot. It's very clean, and food came out quickly. Service: Our server was incredibly professional and very polite. He gave great suggestions. I really appreciated that he went out of his way and got the spice jars for us to adjust the spice level of our food. Something else that I always give credit for is that they pack up any leftover food that you have. Phenomenal service.

*Vegetarian Foodie Review*…read more I just looked at the positive reviews and ended up going here during our trip to Seattle. Omg, what a place! There was a wait since it was the weekend, but we didn't have to wait more then 20 mins after joining the waitlist at the restaurant. What I really liked is that as our turn got close, they started taking our order early so it would be ready by the time we sat down. My husband ordered non-veg, while my 5 year old and I decided to share and just got the "Vegan Thai Fried Rice with Tofu" - requested mild and less oil. The order came within 5 mins since they had taken it in advance. Omg, what a flavor profile! I loved, loved it! I have been to many Thai places, but the vegan food here tasted truly amazing - the best fried rice ever! My daughter slurped it all down really quick too. We both finished every bite. What I especially appreciated was how many tofu pieces they included. Usually I noticed restaurants are stingy with the tofu in fried rice, not sure why, but this place was generous with it. Tofu is a touchy subject for me because my daughter loves it and eats it all, so I hardly get any protein for myself, usually ending up with only 3-4 pieces. But here the tofu portion was pretty good. We loved it so much that we came back again on the last day of our trip, as weekday that time, with no wait time. One more important thing to note: kids get special plates and cutlery here. My daughter got a pink princess plate and OMG, she was so excited waiting for her food just to eat off it. It's a total hit with kids! The ambiance was really nice too, lively and full of super cute murals featuring popular Seattle spots on the walls, Coming back again during our next visit to Seattle for sure!

We scanned the electronic menu at the front, ordered, then got water at the self-serve station. We beat the lunch crowd so we had plenty of tables to choose from. The bright and cheery decor had nice ambiance and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My hubs ordered the Khao Soi Chiang Mai, one of his favorite dishes to order at a Thai restaurant. It was huge and came in a big, wide bowl. He enjoyed the flavor of the yellow curry and building heat of this dish. Make sure to get a steak knife at the front counter so you can cut the meat from the chicken drumstick (if you're not biting into it). Also, if you are a spice lightweight like me, this is not your dish. But if you enjoy spice and curries, you will enjoy this dish. I got the E-Jae House Noodle with chicken and no egg. Wow, their handmade rice noodles were amazing! So soft, tender, and kinda ropey. I loved the texture and taste of this dish. The sauce was light and complimented the noodles, chicken, green onions, and cilantro. It's so great to eat a restaurant dish that isn't too salty or saucy! It comes with a side of chili sauce which I didn't use, but if you like spice, I am sure it was good. We ended our meal by sharing a small order of the Mango Sticky Rice. It was delightful. The mango was perfectly ripe, the sticky rice was delicious, and it was topped with little crispies which we found out later was fried mung beans. A great ending to a great meal. We will definitely be back!

It was enough noodles and sauce for two meals for me. It came with one chicken leg (enough for one meal). Make sure to grab a knife from the front counter to get the chicken off the bone. Their flavor profiles are different from other Thai places I've tried. I enjoyed it. We also got the small mango and sticky rice. The mango was perfectly ripe. The small was enough for two people after all those noodles. It has tall windows so the place is well lit and I enjoyed the colorful decor. I'm really surprised that any reviews say the food is good, but if you eat a lot of Asian food and have a general standard for Thai or flavor, you will be super disappointed here. Maybe there are outliers we don't know of, but we both ordered pretty standard Thai dishes. My Garlic Lovers plate had massive chunks. LIke I needed a knife, but there weren't any around. My concern is not with the meal; it is with the overall hospitality we received. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I observed differences in how guests were greeted and engaged. Some guests were welcomed with smiles, courtesy, and friendly conversation, while my own initial interaction felt more reserved and minimal in comparison. After being seated, I waited approximately 15 minutes before anyone offered me water, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. During that time, other tables around me were served water and received refills more promptly. I was waiting for my friend to arrive. Once my friend joined me, we were asked shortly after if we were ready to order, even though we had not yet had sufficient time to review the menu. Later, when we indicated that we were ready, the server took the menu and walked away without taking our order at that time. One interaction during the ordering process stood out. In general, I observed warm and friendly engagement between staff and other guests. When my friend asked a question, the response we received felt brief and less welcoming in tone and expression, which contributed to our overall impression of the interaction. Standing alone, a single expression or moment could be easily misread, and I would not base a review on that alone. However, within the context of the full experience, it contributed to our perception of inconsistency in service and attentiveness. That pattern continued throughout the meal. Some tables that ordered after us received their food before we did, and appeared to be served more quickly overall. We were also brought to-go boxes without requesting them while we were still eating and in conversation. This made us feel somewhat rushed to finish. The interaction when it came time to pay also felt brief and less engaging than expected. I can only speak to what I personally experienced. The concern here is not a single incident, but the overall pattern of service: delayed water, limited engagement at times, ordering delays, slower food timing compared to nearby tables, and feeling rushed toward the end of the meal. Again, the food was decent, and this review is primarily about the service. Based on our experience, the level of attentiveness and hospitality was inconsistent. For those reasons, my recommendation is maybe. Regardless of the cause, I believe every guest should receive consistent courtesy, professionalism, and attention.
