This place slaps HARD. I came here on a Saturday night around 6:30pm to a nearly full house of patrons. That flow did not stop throughout my stay here; when one party left, two more literally came in. It's dimly lit inside but the high noise levels inside imply a bar-like setting; there are some televisions around, and the overall decor is relatively colorful. All servers were very attentive when clearing tables, answering questions about the menu and just in general being very welcoming. I got their massaman lamb curry bowl with white rice, which took a little over 20 minutes to come. I didn't mind this since this was one of the best curry-based dishes I've ever tasted! The lamb was braised so thoroughly with curry, and lamb texture was tender and a little bit sweet. Curry had a ton of spices that tingled in my mouth and worked well with the lamb. Every bit felt like heaven, and that doesn't even come close to exaggerating how delicious this was. It was pretty easy to finish everything. This does come at a high price of $25 before tax, so I'd keep that in mind. I came here based on social media blowing up this place with its high ratings, and I'm glad I got to see that for this visit. This is one place I'd come back for despite the distance and the high prices on food, there's a ton of other dishes I'd give a try on a future visit!

It was good but not raving good. I got the lamb massaman curry and some roti. Everything I got tasted great but the portions were rather small for the price unfortunately. Still good quality though.

Food was bursting and flavor and so incredibly delicious! A little bit on the pricier end for Thai, but quality of food matches. Thai teas were crispy and sweet as well. We loved the beef bhuna with fragrant rice and the Hokkien Mee (kinda resembles Chinese lo mein). Roti sauce was amazing as well. The one thing is the staff check in on you very very frequently, but are friendly and attentive.

There are 1,000 Thai restaurants within a square mile of Phinney Ridge. But this is the one you need to go to. I was hanging out at the bar getting ready to order with my friend, and the bartender handed us free nuts. They were not only a welcomed treat for a famished man, but it was the nicest thing that anyone had done for me that day. I won't forget you, Mr Free Nuts. You could tell that the staff here are genuinely excited to have people in their restaurant and to share this experience with everyone who walks through the door. Once my eyes locked in on the lamb curry on the menu, there was no looking back. My game plan was to potentially go splitsies with my friend who joined me (if he could be convinced), but it didn't work out that way since that lamb caught both of our eyes. This spice in this dish is incredible. I'm not talking about heat-spice, but a blend of flavor so rich and powerful that you will need to take a break to appreciate it. This is not a meal to slug down, but one to take each bite slowly and appreciate the depth of flavor. Rice is a needed accompaniment to balance out the curry itself, and because you need rice with everything anyways. But because I appreciate and respect bread of all types, I had to get some roti too. I've never seen it come in such a compact size, but wow it was delicious. It has a nice subtle crunch from being fried, but doesn't taste oily at all. I can't wait to come back and try out more dishes here. This restaurant will be a staple in North Seattle for a long time.

This spot has been various iterations in Seattle's Phinney Ridge neighborhood, close to Green Lake and Woodland Park Zoo. It seems Thai food is ubiquitous, but I wanted to know what Southern Thai comprised and it was getting a lot of social media attention. So The Homie and I stopped in on 9/18/25. I really like the interior transformation, nice colors, textures, overall decor. The bar, counter seating and flat screens remained but blended in nicely. There is also the ability to peep into the open kitchen and dumpling prep area. Very polished wait staff and kitchen crew, no surprise since they are associated with long time Ballard restaurants, Pestle Rock and Sen Noodle Bar. We ordered Muu Gho, Lamb Curry (massaman), Hokkien Mee, and Classic Sweet Roti. The Homie also had a Thai ice lemon tea. I enjoyed the bold flavors of the dishes we tried. Definitely one has to appreciate the funk aspect from spice combos, fresh seafood, and thicker assertive curries. Great melding of Thai, Chinese, Indonesian, and Malaysian flavors. Definitely recommended!

Saw an article in the Seattle Times about this place and decided to go with my co-workers. It was easy to make reservations and we went on a Thursday evening. We were the first party there but it definitely got busy as the evening went on. The wait staff was very attentive and very friendly, coming back to check on us enough but not overwhelmingly so. The flavors were all really good along with the portion size. Street parking was pretty easy as well. I'd come back here again if I'm in Seattle and in the area.

I'm Thai so I always have high expectations for Thai restaurants. But this place I would give 10 out of 5 stars if I could. I don't see much Southern Thai food in the area, so this is new and exciting. They accommodated our 6-person reservation. The portions are on the smaller side, which let us try many dishes. I can say everything we tried was really delicious and authentic. The main highlight was MUU KHO. We had to order it twice. The spiciness level isn't really at the level of southern food you'd find in Thailand, but I understand why. Myself, from central Thailand, cannot handle the real southern spiciness either, so this was perfect for us. Service was great and very attentive. There are many other dishes we didn't try, and we will definitely come back.

I love southern Thai food because of how similar it is to Malaysian cuisine. Every dish we ordered was delicious! The owners of Roy are sharing their passion for their cuisine and you can taste it in their dishes. The staff were so incredibly nice to us, answered all of our questions, and recommended their favorite dishes. Trust their recommendations! Would absolutely return again!

I am amazed by the lamb curry bowl. It is not your typical curry. The meat is perfectly balanced with the spices and the brown rice is the best I've had in this area. The complementary soup is delicious and tastes like it's been simmering for hours. The portion sizes are generous, and I ended up taking some home. The service is exceptional, and they have plenty of seating available. Their menu features many unique dishes, and I can't wait to come back to try more.

Some of the BEST food in Seattle. Got seated right away and the food and drinks got here so fast. The food is genuinely some of the best I've ever had such hidden gem more people need to come here! I recommend the Lamb curry the staff is also so kind

One of the best Thai restaurants in Seattle! Very authentic cuisine and even better customer service. Every time I go here I feel like I'm part of their family. I appreciate the unique dishes that you can't get elsewhere. Imagine southern hospitality but in Seattle! My favorite was the braised beef belly! Good hint of sweetness and savoriness. The roti bread was perfect in chewiness and flavor. The spicy dish we got had a powerful kick of spice. The curry dumplings puffs were so good, I could eat the breading by itself. The tea was very refreshing and good to clean the palate after a meal. The fried pineapple was unique and tasty! I highly recommend and would come back!

The food was amazing! We tried a bunch of different dishes they all equally delicious. We tried their Lamb Curry Bowl, Khua Kling, Hokkien Mee Chicken, Hat Yai Plate, Roy's Khao Yum & Fried Pineapple for dessert. I even got to meet the owner Pete. He was so friendly and bubbly I just love his attitude and such a wonderful host and owner. His smile is very infectious. He made the dining experience so much better. Also I got to meet his Mom who walks around to say Hi to everyone & his nice Sister who was the main Chef and her cooking is top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant. The ambience is very welcoming. The staff and everyone that works there are just as lovely.

First time trying Southern Thai cuisine and we were blown away! The food here is so good! We went during lunch so we could take advantage of their lunch specials...and there were so many items to choose from. I highly recommend the Hat Yai Plate, Lamb Curry Bowl, and Khua Kling. Everything was delicious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming! They even took the time to explain the dishes in detail. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood!

This is their phad Thai Chaiya, so delicious and loved all the peanuts!

Everything was delicious, noodles, bok choy, and the broth was killer. I drained it after I ate everything. Staff was really great and helpful, we had a kid in our party and they had no problem making a spiced up order of their kids noodles. Get the black sesame ice cream, it had a peanut butter flavor and was super creamy and smooth.

I remember the days when you'd see them sitting at the corner table, hand-folding wontons right in front of you. They've gotten so busy now that they do it in the back, and if you don't time your visit right, be prepared to wait in a long line. This is my absolute go-to combo on a chilly day, and honestly, the best hangover cure: Wonton Noodle Soup, Cod Fish Congee, Chinese Broccoli, and Chinese Donuts (Youtiao). You cannot skip the donuts--they are a must! My personal ritual is adding a splash of pink vinegar and chili paste into the congee, dipping the donut in, and taking a huge bite. It's pure comfort that warms you up from the inside out and instantly heals a tired soul. My husband prefers the beef wonton noodle soup because it's rich and hearty, but I love the classic, clean flavor of the plain wonton soup with its seafood-based broth. A quick heads-up: The service is typical for an authentic, bustling Chinese restaurant--don't expect fancy fine-dining treatment, but the staff is genuinely friendly and efficient. Also, **it's CASH ONLY**, so come prepared! Among the handful of restaurants I've stayed loyal to for 20+ years, this spot holds a very special place in my heart. Highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I stopped in before a flight, which in hindsight was a mistake. We ordered around 12:30 PM (niku beef udon, garlic pork udon, and chicken karaage), and it took nearly an hour to receive everything. The karaage came out first after about 40 minutes, then one udon about 10 minutes later, and the final dish close to an hour after ordering. Because of this, we weren't able to eat together unless one of us let our food go cold. On top of that, the restaurant itself was uncomfortably cold, which made the long wait feel even worse. It also seemed like many other tables were experiencing similar issues--orders coming out at different times or missing entirely, with customers having to repeatedly follow up. What stood out most was the lack of communication. There was no acknowledgment of the delays, no check-ins, and no apology--not when the food was dropped off, and not even when we left. Given that we had to pay upfront and the price point was $20+ per bowl, it made the experience feel even more disappointing. While the portions were decent and the noodles seemed handmade, the food itself didn't feel particularly special to justify the wait or cost. I truly hope this feedback is helpful. With better timing, communication, and overall service, I think the experience could be much better.

The sayap ayam pedas was a huge portion for just 2 people, but we couldn't stop eating. The combination of soy sauce and fish sauce was not overpowering at all and the chicken itself was so juicy. The chicken curry in the nasi lemak was delicious with the coconut rice. Along with the anchovies, egg, peanuts, and sambal, it was a choose-your-own-adventure kind of bite. The kaya toast was the perfectly sweet dish to balance out all the flavors. I especially loved dipping it in the poached egg for a satisfyingly runny bite. This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. My friend really enjoyed it and actually finished the whole thing, which is saying something given that she doesn't usually eat that much.
