The staff was very friendly, and my Thai Iced Tea with Boba, plus a regular iced water, was prepared and served super quickly. Since I was just passing through, I didn't get a chance to dine in, but I did get a glimpse of the interior, and it was beautifully designed. Excellent food and atmosphere, terrible service, and a very sneaky gratuity charge. Read on for details: We came here with relatives who go there often and were wowed by the atmosphere inside -- it's really cute, a great place for date night. The restaurant was mostly empty but they said it would be a 10-minute wait. By the time we sat down in the waiting area, though, our table was ready. We had a lot of time with the menu, so by the time the server appeared we just ordered everything. Appetizers were wonderful; the sampler had a variety of fried and fresh rolls and dumplings, served with various dipping sauces. Chicken satay skewers were a hit with the toddler. Once the entrees arrived, I enjoyed a crisp and refreshing chicken larb salad and green curry with creamy tofu and a nice variety of vegetables, at a spice level that was intense but not painful. There was eggplant and crispy tofu and Pad See Ew as well, but I didn't try those two. The Pad See Ew was also a mistake, as my husband ordered it with prawns. The real problem is that our server basically disappeared as soon as we got her food. We couldn't correct the order that arrived with chicken instead of prawns or the Sauvignon Blanc that came instead of Cabernet Sauvignon. We couldn't order more drinks or water for the toddler (in fact, I got up twice and filled my empty beer glass from the full pitcher that was sitting at the deserted hostess stand.) There were a lot of people in and out of the front getting carryout orders, so I guess they just focused on them, because no one ever checked on us. It was disappointing because the food was really good, fresh and flavorful. When we were finished I had to actually go into the back to request the check, something I've done maybe two other times in my whole life. They brought it and I paid quickly since we had already spent way too long there. It wasn't until later that I realized they had charged me 20% gratuity, on a table of 4 adults and 1 toddler. I had left additional tip, so now they've been amply rewarded for poor service. I'm fine with a gratuity charge in theory but the proper thing to do is inform you upfront, or at least point it out when they bring you the bill. Forewarned is forearmed: it's worth visiting, but be sure to study the bill and allow extra time for the meal. read more

We went to this place with very high hopes based on the recent Yelp reviews. The look/feel and ambiance were great. That's where the awesomeness stopped The food was just ok...meh, to be exact. The papaya salad we ordered was good and it went downhill from there...our entrees were too salty and the spice levels were all over the place from dish to dish. The Thai tea was good (but the boba in the tea was not all that great and was not at the same level as what you would get at any of the hundreds of boba places in Seattle). My bf brought me here for lunch for Valentine's Day. We got here a little bit after noon, so it was pretty empty, plus we made it right when happy hour started. The place was nicely-decorated for Valentine's Day, and the staff were really welcoming and friendly. My bf and I ordered the Crab Rangoon, Chicken Entrails (which I don't see at Thai restaurants, so had to try), and Margarita from the happy hour menu, and they were all delicious. I ordered the Lover's Dream from the Valentine's special menu, which is stir-fried ramen noodles with shrimp and lobster. My bf ordered the Kaplau Gai Kai Doa. They didn't ask us for any spice level, so maybe they don't any spices, so I had to ask for the spice rack. We both enjoyed our lunch. We also ordered pad Thai for someone at home but they forgot that (did not write down order) but we were happy with the food we got, and full! I love crying, tiger, and love when they brain the rice and the cute little container, very delicious, especially since it came with papaya salad! They also have happy hour, had a margarita for I believe 7.99. We had a reservation in case it was packed, but it was not so we were able to just get seated as soon as we got there. OMG we were STARVING and we stumbled across this place and WOW it was so delicious the menu has a great number of options we ordered the chicken satay for an appetizer and we DEVOURED it it was so good. both our meals were absolutely DELECTABLE. I got the panang curry and my partner got the pork belly and both were just so good for our starving tummies. The vibe was super great inside the restaurant and we even had some cosplayers sitting in the booth next to us. All the servers were so kind and we loved the vibe overall. This place is delicious. I take out/delivery from here every few weeks. The phad Thai is consistently flavorful and doesn't even need spice. They don't offer the option online, which I'm fine with because I truly enjoy the flavor palette whenever I eat here. Today I came in for lunch for a the papaya salad. Traditional and delicious. The only constructive feedback I would have, is maybe the size of the plate being on the smaller side. But just be a clean eater and you'll be great! The outside of the restaurant is very pretty with the drop flowers while the inside is dimly lit for the mood. When we sat we were able to order but it seemed like we were ordering with three different individuals at first. We got our food fairly quick except for one dish... Their dish came out about 7-10 min after everyone elses. We did a bit of a family style approach to our dishes and ordered to taste all. Came for a late night dinner and enjoyed our food. I think we might've been the last customers before closing but we never felt rushed once and staff was kind, friendly, and attentive. Water was always refilled. I loved the decor and super clean interior! Food was soooo yummy however we think they might've messed up and switched our spice levels..my boyfriend can't handle heat like I can and had ordered the lowest spice level however my food had no spice and and was sweet (still sooo tasty) but he was coughing and drinking that water lol. He still enjoyed his food but we'll make sure next time to double check they give us the right spice level so we can thoroughly enjoy. Portions were great in my opinion, no skimping on the prawns! The big issue is that my husband and I both experienced food poisoning from our lunches. We are confident that this was tied to the lunch, based on no other possible variables and very clear signs. Being that we ate two different things, this makes me feel really uneasy. As well as this being a very unpleasant experience that we're still dealing with. We will now not return. Listen, here is the thing about Jai Thai. It may not be the best Thai food in town (although everything I had was just fine), but it has what many restaurants in Seattle lack; nice ambiance, plenty of space, and really good service (everyone we encountered was smiling and warm). But unlike the drinks, food came out rather fast after we ordered. I really liked the pumpkin tempura as a starter - they came out hot and tasted very fresh. The tempura didn't feel heavy at all and they fried the pieces really nicely. I had the green curry, which was a bit too sweet for my preference, but the pork they used was tender and that was very good. I was in between ordering the green curry or Kaplau Gai Kai Doa. My friend ordered Kaplau gai kai doa and said it wasn't as sweet, so I wish I ordered that instead. Next time I will try that! read more

The decor is actually what drew my friend and I inside as it was quirky but beautiful and also decorated for the holidays. We were seated immediately and waited on very quickly by two women who were both so friendly! My friend ordered the cashew chicken and I had the angel wing entree in yellow curry and, while I'd never had angel wings before, they are my new favorite meal ever! My friends had the spring rolls, which were vegan. You can actually request them to make many of the dishes vegan, which was pretty nice. The seating and atmosphere were pretty good.
