I came with the sole purpose of trying the wonton soup. Yet it left me baffled, sending me on a trip, back across the city's best wonton soups, from King Noodle to Mike's Noodle, and those I tend to prefer. After some investigation, I came across the realization that I may have stumbled upon the best wonton soup in the city, by chance. However, rarely is there any mention of Racha's wonton soup. Then I came to the restaurant, with another fellow, and the wonton soup seems to have also baffled them. For the restaurant's bathroom is not disorderly enough, the seating is far too spaced out, and the service, too conscientious to show the symptoms of having such a delightful wonton soup. Upon asking the Racha team, it seems those among them have secretly delighted in the soup for quite a while. So, after tasting through the city, in a daze, I return here to say, with some confidence, albeit confusion, that you must try their warm-hearted wonton soup. The noodles, delightful. Soup, with heartfelt flavor. The pickles, the spice, tasteful, thoughtful. The wontons, filled and well-considered. Perhaps what I look for most is the cook on the vegetables. Oh, the bok choy, not over or under, yet beautiful and textured. All this has become a sort of strange puzzle, that has ended up as something else entirely, because it was with great doubt that I came here to try the wonton soup, and I left with further questions about my taste for wonton soup. Typically, I prefer skinny noodles, a different ratio for the filling. And I'd be perplexed to go without certain greens or sides. Yet I came away perplexed. Perhaps I have missed out on this particular wonton soup, after all these years, because of such leanings. In the end, the wonton soup is worth a long drive, is worth going out of one's way for. And as it was promised, I left that day fully satisfied and decongested by a hot, delicious wonton soup. read more

Amazing food. We ordered the Pud Thai (3 stars) it was delicious, the perfect blend of spice and sweetness. I haven't had Pud Thai in a long time so trying it again after a while made me love it even more. Their Pud See Ew was also delicious, also got this in a 3 star and flavor was on point, it had the right amount of spice, perfect balance. Their Papang curry was also delicious, I never order curry but I was craving it and I'm glad I ordered it. Honestly you can never go wrong with Papang curry, it's the best, flavors always hit and it's satisfying to eat, especially with a side of rice! I had low expectations walking in after we were unable to get a lunch seating today at the nearby place at which we had aimed our stroll, but I was pleasantly surprised. In addition to the usual Thai fare, there were a few dishes whose names were not familiar to me - I had the "spicy jungle fire" that combined ginger and green peppercorns with a choice of meats (or not), as well as a wide choice of spiciness. I ordered the Pud Thai with chicken, and it didn't take long for the food to arrive. First off, I was blown away by the amount of food! I had expected the lunch portions to be tiny. There's just several tables too, so much smaller than it used to be. My sister and I came for lunch before going to a concert nearby at Climate Pledge. We were craving Thai and Racha was closest to where we had parked. When we got there though, we saw there's actually designated parking for Racha right outside! Definitely a perk of eating here since it's paid street parking all around the Seattle Center area. Anyways, the food was just okay - a solid 3 stars. Not sure why this place has a low rating! It's a solid place for Thai food and is centrally located in Queen Anne. Service was very friendly and our waters were always filled :) There was only one other table at 8pm on a Thursday evening. The menu is pretty extensive but I'm not sure how vegan friendly they are. There are definitely vegetarian options. We had the pad kee mao and thai fried rice. We got spice level 2* and 3*. I didn't notice much difference between the two spice levels and didn't think they were that spicy. I would recommend getting a 4* for more of a kick. The pad kee mao was wonderful and had thick, chewy wide noodles that were so delicious with perfect texture. The thai fried rice wasn't as good--it was missing the charred wok flavor. All the dishes were very savory and tasty, and my favorite was definitely the pad see ew. Our first time here since they moved across the street. We have been wanting to eat here for some time. We didn't know until a month or two ago that they had closed the original restaurant and moved. Now that the governor has closed all restaurants for inside dining, we still cannot go. However tonight we celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary and rather than getting something we always get, like Chinese take out or pizza, I called in an order for takeout. This is our favorite Thai place for the Thai Catfish. There is only one other Thai restaurant in downtown Seattle that has this on their menu. It's pricey, $25.99 but OMG, it is well worth the cost. It is served with a lovely red curry sauce. I ordered extra sauce because every time we have ordered this in the past, we end up licking the plate. I'm serious! It's really that good. We also ordered the green beans and an order of brown rice. Two stars for us for spiciness, but I think we could have gone 3 stars. When husband brought the food out to the car, he also had 2 Thai ice teas. He said they were given complimentary. How nice! Happy Anniversary to us! We love this food and hope this pandemic is over soon so our favorite restaurants can survive. read more

We got seated pretty quickly, but service was slow. We had to go get a server when we were ready to order, because no one was coming, or was even close to our area. Our server was also the bartender and was very brisk. We were trying to decide on whether or not to get an appetizer, and she almost left without a word. Usually the server would say, "I'll give you some more time" or "I'll come back after you've made a decision" but she just took our menus and started leaving. The chicken was not worth it at all. For $13, 5 pieces of chicken was not worth it. "Wrapped in pandan lesves" may sound unique and interesting, but the pandan leaves didn't really make the chicken taste special. In fact, the chicken was pretty dry, and the flavor came mostly from the sauce accompanying it. The Tom Ka soup had one flavor: sour. It's hard to think there were other ingredients in the dish because you couldn't really taste them outside of the overpowering sour flavor. The portion was also very small. We weren't given bowls along with the soup, and had to wait a while before the bowls were brought. The "Panang curry" was described in the menu as just curry paste, coconut milk, peppers, and your choice of meat. They didn't lie. Honestly, I think I could've made better panang curry at home. Remaining thoughts: interior is colorful and spacious. There is a decent bar section. Seating is plentiful. Ambience was decent. But maybe they should have more servers to cover the size of the restaurant. Probably would not come back though. read more

Racha in downtown Seattle needs our help, the pandemic forced them to close the main location at the corner of MercerSt and 1st Ave N; they moved across the street in a smaller establishment. The food is the same food people were waiting in long lines to taste, before COVID. We had Tom La, pad tai, yellow curry and showering rama, all very good same taste, I don't remember the prices so no comment. Rascha is not in my neck of the woods, yet it's well worth travels to get to the best Thai food in Seattle, in my humble opinion. Fresh, fragrant and heavenly are the words that come to mind as each dish is presented, whiffed and consumed. The Tom aka soup is effervescence, can soup even be that?! The garlic chicken and Pud Kee Mao are divine, and if you're lucky enough to be in sweet mango sticky rice season, there's no place better. I've been dining at Racha for the last four years. You can rarely go wrong with Thai food but this place is always consistently delicious. My go-to dishes to order are massaman curry and pad see ew but every dish I've had here was delicious. We recently dined at their new location (right across Mercer street) which is smaller and has a handful of tables. On a weeknight for dinner, there was only one other party dining in. Soooo this used to be our go-to place for Thai but the last two times things have been disappointing. Last time I ordered black sticky rice and I think it was off, smelled and tasted sour. I ended up throwing it away. In general, flavors have been inconsistent. Not bad, but I remember when eating here was AMAZING and lately it's just been okay. We used to lick the plate after finishing the masaman, but I don't think we even got through half of it tonight. The sweet and sour portioning was a bit sad as well. Clean restaurant and friendly service. I love the brightness from the large windows and the green from the plants. I stopped by here tonight 8:10pm for happy hour. I was under the impression they were open until 9pm (as there was a happy hour sign on the door from 8-9pm). When I entered, I verified they were still open, and a gentleman sat me a table and then brought water. A woman came over asking what I wanted very upset, asked if I wanted to eat there or order to go. I told her I wanted to eat there but could order Togo, no problem. I only ordered fresh rolls because I was a bit unsure if they wanted to really take my order. Please note, the fresh rolls has only lettuce and noodles, no protein (no shrimp, chicken, pork or even tofu) and cost $12, I paid cash and didn't receive any change, so it cost $12. I'm not sure how much change because No receipt was offered. I don't recommend this business. I would have appreciated being turned away if they were closed. read more

I'm extremely satisfied with my experience at this restaurant!! This was the first Thai place in Seattle that actually lived up to its highest spice level. The mango sticky rice was AMAZING because the mangoes were actually sweet (another first for Thai in Seattle)!!! The prices were also very reasonable. In terms of service, I wish our waitress actually used a notepad to record our orders because she kept coming back to clarify what we said, which was appreciated but it got very interruptive. First night in Seattle and me and sis craved for Thai. Chose this place since it was closest to our Airbnb. For a Friday night, it wasn't as busy as I thought it'd be. I ordered a Pud See Ew with Beef and Chinese broccoli and an iced Thai milk tea. My sister ordered a Pud Thai with Pork. For apps we ordered fresh spring rolls with special peanut sauce. Our apps were good and came with 6 half sized pieces and more than enough peanut sauce. Pretty good!! My Thai milk tea was overly sweet for my tasting - it was okay. Wait time for our food wasn't long at all, maybe about 15 mins after receiving our appetizer. Our main dishes were pretty delicious. They weren't skimping with the beef in my dish at all, which to my surprise, was a plus. My sister's dish, Pud Thai, was pretty good as well. We didn't finish our meals but glad to know that our leftovers would be our next days' breakfast! Our service was good, price for the meal was reasonable, and our food was yummy. [Initial encouter/Staff Experience] Came here Friday night 3/29/19 for a weekend trip in Seattle. It was not busy. I came in and was seated promptly. The server (male, bald/shaved head) who greeted me gave me an attitude because I came in the side door. But I just brushed it off. The other servers seemed to be professional and courteous. [Decor/ Environment] Ehh... not a big fan of the ambiance, it was a bit outdated and messy looking with all the chords from the lights [Food] I ordered the seafood dish in a sizzling plate $25 and the spring roll $10. I had a concert to go too last night around the Key Arena and wanted to grab some dinner and a drink before. There are a lot of bars/restaurants in the area but Thai food was on the mind. I ended going to Racha Thai and I was very satisfied with my decision. You can tell this restaurant has been there for quite some time but was still clean and elegant. The drinks menu was one of the best I've seen in a while. My date and I got the Green Tea and Pomegranate Mojito which were both delicious. For our entrees we both shared a Panaang Curry and the Prikkhing Prince with chicken and they were both delicious and flavorful! I love Thai food and have had it from different places all over Seattle and this was Racha's was very good! Our plates were completely empty by the end of our meal and not a grain of rice left. For parking there are local streets you can park on 3-4 blocks away from the area where all the food options are. I highly recommend Racha's if you are craving Thai food! read more
